Mickael2:Really? Don't take it to far, you know what I mean...... |
Mickael2:Im not saying Iwobi is the better of the two. Iwobi has a lot to still learn. But for that very flank Vs Atletico, when they began to defend En masse, as a coach who would you deploy to breakdown such discipline, a ball holder or a dribbler? All crosses that came Vs from his flank was by Ozil or Monreal. This is a Welbeck that when he attempted dribbling, he lost possession and that led to Griezmann getting an equalizer. I watched both legs of the Cska game, and I call that a flash in the pan. Vs Chelsea, the outcome led to a 4on 2 situation that Ramsey couldn't bury. 4arsenal Vs 2chelsea players. ![]() |
can't you just say that the Atletico fullback was a stalwart on the day? I mean this is a team with one of the best defences in the world, Arsenal created chances, plenty if chances which shows that the team was doing okay, all they needed was a goalscorer, is it Iwobi that would have scored the goals? Welbeck remains a bigger goal threat than Iwobi any day
One of the crosses that came from that side made Lacazette rise high to score. All due respect to Atletico, they defended well, and I'm not saying they didn't. I'm just on the tactics. Welbeck couldn't have done anything meaningful Vs the best defence in Europe without being a dribbler. Once you have such stalwarts, you resort to some dribbling cos of the speed at which they close down. simple. Gimme Iwobi and Welbeck to choose who would be a goal threat, and I'll pick none. trust me. arms folded. |
andrew444:Even Xavier has been average in some of the games he played in his career. it's now Wilshere that would be consistent? lol. Don't mind the English media, that guy would get extra drill from any coach asides Wenger. |
Mickael2:Beat your chest and tell me that Welbeck was the better choice for that wing throughout that game. Iwobi have done more than 3players Vs Argentina. he passed thru 5players at once and didn't go down. Against Chelsea too, he passed thru 4players, Cahill and Kante inclusive. So it's now 3rough defenders he won't pass thru or at least get a PK out of them It's no hype, but we both know who the better dribbler of the ball is in such tight spaces. Welbeck failed to do his job at that wing and so Monreal had to fill in such role... Stop making Welbeck look like he's one good player. He's average to me. 2goals against Cska is not going to change my view about him anyday. |
kentebemoney:They panic when the other team have more possession. so that would have been a very bad tactic.... especially against Atletico. |
Icon4s:10s of thousands of arsenal fans disagree with this your analysis. Funny enough, most of them that insulted and vilified Iwobi were the very ones saying that he would have made a difference cos of his dribbles which Welbeck the heck, couldn't offer. Pls we know that most of the players on the pitch were very tired. only a foolish coach would leave a tired Ronaldo or Messi on the pitch in the name of that they would still make a big chance at winning. Not to talk less of Arsenal players that if Ancellotti were coach, they would see the backdoor out. Don't tell me here and now that you believe that Iwobi's game is solely for possession cos I won't agree atall with you. |
Icon79:Pls help tell Icon4s.... Wilshere had an average game to me. Ozil still had a better game, even Xhaka had a better game. Any Midfielder that is experienced and tactically skilled, would know that after that red card, the loophole must be exploited. But unfortunately, Welbeck was on the flank that Arsenal should've exploited. ATM were that scared that every time a pass went to Welbeck, three guys ran straight up to him to close him down. One on such a flank would need speed and dribbles to frustrate such defenders and force their hands to get a PK. Imagine Monreal had to now start playing that role, and oga Welbeck is a poor cover up player too. Iwobi is better. Diego would be so happy that he didn't even use Costa for Arsenal and yet, they fell like a pack of cards. smh |
Icon4s:Impact players. Iwobi may not be a game changer cos he still has a lot to learn, but beat your chest and tell me point blank that he wouldn't have done better on the wing than Welbeck that kept passing back when he had space to dribble thru and do something. The three times he tried to dribble, he was dispossessed and one of such even led to the goal that Griezmann buried. Haba. Iwobi would dribble that defender and at least due to pressure, can get hacked down in the PK box cos of the rough way those ATM defenders were doing. Pls. Sometimes, it's not just about the best 11. We have coaches and managers bringing on players that have just one contribution to a game even if they are bench warmers. we've seen that alot in the UCL. Iwobi, would have made a breakthrough on that flank than a wasteful, less confident Welbeck any day. |
EmmGee:thank you for the above. I was just sipping juice when even the commentators made that statement as well. |
98% of politicians are in one secret occult or the other. "clubs" littered ere and there are their public meeting places. |
A dribbling Iwobi would have done better than that useless Welbeck that can't make an attacking run on the wing. He made it look like it was 10vs10. Ozil, Ramsey and Wilshere had a bad bad game too. Shock that le prof didn't make any subs. 1-1 and I wonder how the arsenal defenders would face beast Costa. |
who is here to gimme one reason to why Salah won't take the Balon d'Or? Klopp trusts Arnold, and Roma attack wanted to use his inexperience to their advantage. it didn't work. I expect Africans to start with their wash down mentality as usual. wonder what Messi and Ronaldo have done this season to still take top spot at that award. None of these two have done a two goals and two assists in a 1/2 legs, and a semi final for that matter. Roma would try hard, I trust them to. But they can't close up that defence that is uncoordinated despite having 5men at the back. Salah would score, and so would Mane. FMS would smell and taste that final and they would win it. Klopp have to talk to Lovren. what nonsense is that. Chamberlain would definitely be influential if he recovers. |
asha80:Hmm. Italy? Maybe the hard tackling but not the rendering if the number 10 to be this insignificant like now. Spain takes that. |
I see what Klopp has done with Alex-Arnold and I fully get what Rohr is doing with Ebuehi. Salah for Balon d'Or. Unless they wana cheat Africa again. Surprised that Qatar Airways now sponsor Roma. They are vexed with Barca or what? ![]() Iffai hear say Marcelo go fit attack if he meets Salah. |
Mujtahida:To your number 10 disguising comment. I'll say football tactics have been fused with war tactics. Too much analysing the opponents weakness and how to exploit them, rather than just playing hour best game with the flair you got and the fans bring wowed. War tactics and formations are now similar. if it's before, when Milan met Inter, no one could just predict how it would go with all those stars that were present.... Who had time to analyse it Edgar David's was too rough. or that Pasquale couldn't dribble from the wings. It's truly evolved. Dunno if I'll blame The English or the Spaniards. |
tbaba1234:good news there. That department must have a fully fit crew@defence |
all these forums. bodies and organizations that we don't know exists or reps us, should goan sit down jare. swerve. Only know they are influential when one politician talks thru the media, and then dry bones come alive just like that. |
chrisooblog:Aside some untouchables, he will make camp and if he impresses, might pull a shocker. Even the now injured Obagoal, of invited to camp, would impress and also pull a shocker. So asides that, everything else, seems okay to me, save this issue of goalkeeping. I hope we are also prepping for bad officiating that trail most African sides going to the mundial? |

maidaboi:A nomenclature to call it? I formed "Iwobi's Woes" !!! |
happy birthday Omoni |
see them selling our mandate upandan. |
5thElement:thanks, an auto-correct sturvs. |
Chubhie:The sex rampage is almost in all churches that have considerable wealth and status, if not all churches sef, finances or not. but their own. week in week out I hear girls talk of how the pastors approach them for sex and whatever. Many married women have aborted secretly. Men leaving/divorcing their wives after finding out that they aborted for "paistor" Let's leave that sex issue for now. It would make this revelations seem like Sodom and Gomorrah again if we add it to this thread. SMH. |
muzeze77:Imagine ?Like the way a CEO does to any subordinate in a financial firm. this sucks seriously. You expect me to leave Yankee and just come and do the brown roofed city cos of what? That's demeaning and wickedness. Why not another branch in the same USA. You see why I say it's all intentions that matters here, and Hq have one of the worst intentions so far. Anyone her, if your father was this pastor, will you encourage him to come back to Ibadan? |
DCMIX:In issues like this, one of the two wearing factions would assume silence until the law holds... so you'll grow old waiting. look at facts and get valid conclusion. what dyu expect the silent faction to do? support the allegations? |
5thElement:and it sounds so so like the indulgence age of Catholicism that made MLK to give 95 theses |
Chubhie:Exactly. you can't have true members again in this dispensation in African church system. You correct or try to direct, you'll get empty pews and another church will less stricter standards take them in with "the love of God and with grace to succeed" And sinful lives will be on parade ere and there. This is the number one fright and heart attack of current crop of Nigeria pastors. that cash..... that cash.... hmm. Mammon reloaded. It's sickening seriously. Cries and wailings for prosperity since the 80s now are answered prayers. but what is the wealth being used to do. just the wealth RCCG has, 0.1% of it can be used to feed Burundi for a whole year, 3meals/day. and yet the stupid rule of all to headquarters is wrong guy applied. It's in the scriptures to send to hq. But dyu notice the way the high priest redistributed the gather wealth? Lord!!!! |
Reference:I very well get your point. But is that how the church is supposed to be run? Like a normal business company? The aim of which is just keep gathering and gathering, without reasonable dispersal and influx of new converts and grooming of new converts from babes to adult that require meat and not milk? Cos I dunno how else anyone can convince me about the structure in the Chapel. Why would I be hearing about Bill Gates charity from far away USA, and my own rich pastor hasn't even gotten a mention elsewhere like even Tb Joshua on the same front, even if I don't like using him as a veritable example here? See the fact that it is run like a business centre will allow wolves and all manner of crafty animals to creep in and take advantage, cos the system aligns with a worldly system. The very thing that one of those 7 seven in Revelations were guilty of. I pray for a new dawn, but because we don't hear it in public..... I sense there are several lawsuits here and there for most of Nigeria's elite pastors one way of the other, and it's sucking lots of millions. Nigeria pastors are dumb, and lacking some wisdom that would make them unconformed to a worldly system. Pains me that churches are slipping out of the hands of Hqs and the members there are in support full fledged. I'm I missing something? See MFM in USA, see RCCG in UK? Asin it's sickening and a reflection of bad leadership from the church. There's no other better way to say it. They should revisit their Master and ask for wisdom profitable for direction. So sad. Very sad. The double standards again.... an issue for another day. |
Chubhie:whose gods is their belly..... I think the spirit of Mammon is getting a revisit by Christians. It was very livid at the turn of the new millennium. But it was met with Lil or not enough resistance. Came in the guise that diverted many from the truth. And now eyes are beginning to see, ears are now hearing..... Sad one for people we call leaders in the house of God. From this moment onwards, the church would continue to do stuff that would make judgement starting in the house of God to be very very justified and wanted. It's happening already. |
how great!!! |
