This number 8 dey give Mercy Idoko vibes. Mooshood. Taiwo is doing a great job so far. Abeg make Chidi score o. This haul don dey increase with style and she never register. At this rate if NZ get 1, na insult.
Deltamani: I think the Coaches should just try out the likes of foreign born goalkeepers like Medinat Lawal 🇺🇸, Comfort Erhabor 🏴 and the best we can lay hands on in the league right now…
Las las na foreign born get better chance at the GK top spot than the local ones. Unless their Anderline and Jiwuaku step up. We suppose get better backup by now. Or Yewande go return?
Goke7: CAF is not a serious organisation as they are also culpable. Why approve a match in a venue that is controlled by another govt faction different from the capital of the country. To hell with CAF jor
Make we see how they wan handle their angle fes. I expect some nonsense conclusion and im 50-50 on NFF swallowing it. They need to prove me wrong.
CAF really mess up. But i also fault the NFF for not raising concerns about the state of that country even if games are ongoing there or whatever. if caf no get sense at least let nff get na.
Eg
See how officiating is ruining goals Lookman ought to have on his tab. I didn't see any formal complaints made to ensure such stop.
Im just happy how they handled the evacuation. New protocols are needed for guest teams at this point. Defaulters must be fined even if they seem hospitable. Let everyone align. But no competition needs such protocols than Caf club competitions right now.
Goke7: Everybody should submit their evidence to CAF make them verify. Let’s know who is lying
It would be bad if Nff are culpable after investigation finish. For now we accept the Libyans are chasing biggest clout and their acts deserve a ban from football. 17hours??
Me still dey leave room for that pov i had earlier. But we need solid clarity from NFF. Abi is it only what Sir Olajire tok we go take as their stance? Or maybe nff is bidding their time, awaiting CAF decision. But for all that matters, nff better not play any second fiddle and accept nonsense arrangements or compromise. That won't bode well.
TheSuperNerd: Watch the video below from CBS sports. The two guests who spoke on the issue did a beautiful job and the catch?? They are not even Nigerians. They spoke from a place of pure unbias. One is even an ex international who experienced the Libyan treatment in Kenya while with Sierra leone NT.
Just watch:
After seeing Nigeria forfeit their AFCON Qualifier against Libya, is it time for FIFA to step in? 🌍@BizoBeez and @MikeLahoud provide insight as to what is going on inside of CAF 🗣️ pic.twitter.com/CCZex66cG2
Danielnino00: In my Liverpool WhatsApp group, we have been discussing the matter since yesterday... The Ghanaians in the group are hell bent on proving that Libya did the right thing... It's the same thing with the South Africans on Facebook and Twitter..
For real, a lot of African countries don't like us one bit... The hate is deep
Kenyans Southies Ghanaians
In that order of who started to taunt us and justify what Libya was doing.
We need to create an atmosphere for them whenever we play next. Hate is too deep
Defenders: Adamu Maigari (El Kanemi) Daniel Bamayi (Bayelsa United), Musa Adamu (Wireless), Haruna Aliyu (Doma United), Kenneth Igboke (Enugu Rangers)
Midfielders: Raphael Oyebanjo (Shuffle), Nasiru Salihu (El Kanemi), Muhammad Sabiu Ibrahim (Niger Tornadoes), Oliseh Divine (Academy), Israel Ayuma (NK Istra/Croatia), Ibrahim Abdullahi (Bayelsa United), Suleyman Alabi (El Kanemi)
Forwards: Alonge Ibrahim (Academy), Kparabo Arieri (Beyond Limits), Clinton Jephta (Enyimba), Charles Agada (QPR/England), Bidemi Amole, Musa Akinfenwa (Real Sapphire)
First game is on October 18 vs Burkina Faso.
I dey see Bameyi again. Abeg hope it's not what I'm thinking?
Ppogbae: This while episode might've torpedoed our attempts to get foreign borns to play on the future. Who would wanna go through this in a country that doesn't even have a legitimate government and could descend into civil war at the drop of a hat?
Lol. I doubt. It has rather projected the team more internationally, especially with how Ekong was the face of it, IMO. Seeing Nigerians rally round their team all over SM and demanding justice... Anyone wey wan read otherwise and not consider a chance with this GWG na OYO o. My only ish is how it dragged till almost 20hrs.
The men are back home and excited. If anything, this incident will foster a stronger bond and might just secure AE the job. Change of manager rn will be upsetting to the mendem. His luck.
JohnBullMySon: I wonder what he still wants. He’s the most capped Nigerian player already and has enjoyed one of the best careers one could ask for in the GWG.
Baba wan join next afcon squad and win maybe.
If we win that AFCON, abeg make e be Ekong wey lift am for pictures abeg. Lol
lbrichman2: We go still play lol If CAF give them the 3 points, the backlash go too much for them, because the matter really escalate And the SE is a big brand It will be financial suicide for CAF if that game doesn't hold And like I said, they've probably already sold rights The match will hold for sure But I doubt if our players would want to play Maybe na CHAN team we go carry play the match
That game should ONLY be considered by the NFF if it is a neutral venue. Else, nobody should go to libya EVER for any nonsense rubbish hospitality. I prefer CAF learns a lesson here and do alll they need to do to ensure the continent punishes defaulters and eliminate such drama. Let them lose their money.
Nobody will talk of money if any bad thing happened to our contingent. They should getat.
JohnBullMySon: TBH, Musa ought to have retired by now, if not for selfish reasons. The team has moved on. We have Lookman who is a Musa pro-max. Ekong on the other hand is doing an excellent job as a captain.
Make Musa enjoy his home-based project, alongside Abdullahi
Odunayaw: I almost flog myself for having some expectations of that man. For a billionaire the man has a terrible problem solving approach
Only his interest naim concern am. He wants the game to proceed without even making arrangements for a neutral venue so that if anything goes off, nobody go lynch anybody. The man just sabi wear suit
Goke7: then for God's sake why play any match there? , CAF well so?
that's why the bigger blame is on them. To certify libya as safe for any other country to come go through such atmosphere is unsportsmanlike. A neutral venue wasn't even part of their deliberations before including them in the qualifiers? Mo le sepe fun Motsepe o.
On the other hand, i dunno what the score the Nigerian side on their intervention card on this matter. 17hrs of no food and water is not beans.
TheSuperNerd: The Libyan hate on Ghadaffi from within was also American-fueled but this is all I will say on it. I wish not to discuss further to avoid digression.
i saw a documentary on what the americans and Brits did to Iran and immediately as i watched on, i was seeing same playbook in Nigeria despite being 60years apart. Evil powers
Man is begging the offended to play instead of talking to the offenders to do what is right. Im pissed. If na SA will he be begging the Safa boss? That man has debted whatever he has left of his tenure.
semid4lyfe: That Ekong, I posted after the AFCON that he's a potential Super Eagles coach.
Excellent on the pitch, and very measured, speaks so well and does not talk recklessly off it.
Fantastic guy.
I loved how he handled everything, also keeping out an eye around him while his guys rested. He can never go wrong imo going forward. The Libyan but more than their tiny mouth could chew
Kog45: Respect to Troost Ekong for proving many of us wrong at latter stages of his career.
Yes local coach(Sunday Oliseh) didn’t rated him but you forgot that Stephen Keshi gave him his cap and Samson Siasia picked him as starter in Olympics bronze winning team,so local coaches gave him that needed opportunity and trust.
Initially Ekong was poor in some areas that limited his abilities as a defender but he later grew in confidence, his performance in Afcon 2024 was a masterclass and crowned it as best player.
I remembered Finidi had 6 foreign borns as starters….Osayi,Moffi,Semi,Calvin,Lookman and Iwobi so what are you really saying regarding relationships between local coaches and FB.
Yeah. As for Fini, he inherited that team sha.
Sadly, the history will be remembered that way for that man. Kudos once again to SK for Trusting Troost.
semid4lyfe: And Finidi's solution was to call up carpenters like Benjamin Tianimu and Sodiq Ismail?
When there were better and more capable players like Igo Ogbu, Olisa Ndah and Bruno Onyemaechi that could have been invited.
Also, why the continuous invitation of an old "otu" keeper Olorunleke Ojo when there are younger and better performing goalkeepers like Amas Obasogie, Christian Nwoke and Kayode Bankole in the NPFL?
Finidi apart from being tactically inept and technically deficient was shady with his player invitations.
Eguavoen is a better coach than Finidi in all aspects.
I always maintained this "someone powerful controls the Invite list other than the coach" I saw a lot of it enough to make a conclusion under Rohr final days.
The fact that this Tanimu was in Finidi list and now in Eguavoen list shows that this pov is true.
