what if you have a monetized blog or youtube channel?

what happens then
I believe that is a passive income and as such may not count as an hourly job as far as you did not record, edit or upload your content during school term but during holidays because it may exceed 20hr/week stipulated. Also they may not notice, but to be on a safe side do what is contain in your visa. With post study visa, you can decide to fry akara at London, roast corn in Liverpool or decide to open a provision store in Manchester grin grin

Thanks so much.

So if i am in the UK as a student, it is okay to do my virtual dubai role for 30hrs a wk alongside my studies.. Just wondering whether it will be an issue if discovered. I don't plan to announce it but I also don't want to get involved if it will be regarded as wrong.

Any other views my people?
I will advice you not to do any other job apart from the 20hrs/week stipulated in your visa, so as not to jeopardize your post study visa. With your post study visa you can work 100hrs/week if your body allows.

I am seeing everyone saying jobs in IT this and that. If you think its easy do 10 interviews. You might not even get 1 offer. Lots of jobs means they are going to probably take people from other up companies as their is a lot of job migration going on.

Also have to point out that, for post study visa these companies are offering you 2 years contract instead of full time in order to dodge the sponsorship thing.

So please be careful and look for people successful in your area before venturing into the field. Always good to have a mentor.
why are they scared of sponsoring post study visa holders?
Is this associated with the money they will pay? Or is their any other thing hindering them from sponsoring?
If money is the problem, what if a post study visa holder decide to cover the cost that will be incurred will this be legal?

We have to tell ourselves the truth Canada is generally slow. Even the study route is also affected from the snail like attitude associated with canada visa procession.

In all honesty, pre covid was not any different, it was in this same thread some persons vehemently cried out about Accra VO when the where exhibiting their snail like attitude towards Nigerian applicants. Funny enough some of those who ranted here about Accra VO, have gotten to Canada and suddenly became Canada's solicitor. It is not fair some persons will be losing points come their next birthday.

The only thing Canada have over other countries is its easy path to citizenship because:
In health care UK tops them.
In transport and easy movement UK tops them.
In education US tops them.
In job prospect, renumeration et al US tops them.
In weather the less said the better.

If you want to know the origin of my rant take a look at the Uk, US and Canada study threads in nairaland. You will noticed how Canada study thread have literally turn to a ghost abode with prospective students applications hanging in balance, and most schools resumptions scheduled for first week of September, while UK is busy issuing visa within the appointed time frame likewise the US as far as you can get a date. Are this countries not hit by corona virus or have they fully vaccinated there residents?

So what about people going for a 1yr Course?

Arethey still liable to PR after their 1yr PGWP?
you can get one year PGWP provided you maintained the purpose of your Visa.

To your question YES but it may be difficult to get work in NOC O,A or B with one year PGWP which will invariably affect you getting PR via CEC or EE.

So I will advise you to do another one year program for 3 years PGWP.

Please can someone guide me with this in order to know if to apply for a one year or two year masters program?. will one be eligible for PR thru CEC (Canadian Express class) after one year of work or after the whole 3yrs of the pgwp which they are entitled to if one applies for a two years masters program?
one year masters get you one year PGWP. So I will advice you to go for 2 years masters to get 3 years PGWP

You only need one year of full time skilled work I.e NOC O,A, B (1560 hours) to qualify
Note: this excludes co-op work

RollyA:
Personal Assets & Financial Status

My first preassessment notes were vague, in fact i still don't understand it till today as attached.

I did a lot of things differently despite that in this second application:

I paid 28k out of 33k of my tuition through my mum, she gave me 7m which i immediately used to pay 20k cad (in my first application i paid only 7k)
I showed 10.3m in bank account (MBS) (my sponsor gave me 6m since last year Nov and still standing in my account, balance of 4m was my savings) (funds were still intact)
i had mutual funds of 1.4m (since first application)
I had 2.4m in pension ( got a letter from PFA 25% is immediately accessible) also since my first application
i attached gift deeds for both my uncle and the new funds my mum gave me
My uncle showed over 18m in his bank plus introduction letter showing his net worth
My mum attached a retirement letter and stated that she had funds from her 32 years of working, she also had a balance of 4m left to show she will be fine
I included study leave and evidence I got a promotion last year and commendation for stepping in an acting position as MD.
My husbands business docs, showed also 2.3m in his account, he had 2m as fixed deposit (same with first application)
I attached his land docs and added the survey in the second application
i bought shares almost 500K to establish assets (new)

I have ordered for my first and second notes, maybe I should have ordered final notes from my first application because i used preassessment notes while my application was still in progress to apply.

I am numb, I am sad, I feel like all my efforts were in vain.

I had ordered my notes last month to see what was happening and they are only due tomorrow, i guess they dished out the refusal today so i wouldnt have time to ammend.

so sorry about this, but this is really painful I don't a think a UK or US VO will deny you visa after paying that amount and showing all these docs. Get ur head straight and refire while doing that you can try UK study visa Good luck.

This Canada and their shakara how can you keep someone waiting for 5months and in the end deny him/her visa? I am angry about the whole thing.

My cousin was denied two months ago after paying full tuition and showing bank statement of about 14million for a one year PGC program who does that? Their reasons: no home ties, he will not leave after study. After paying close to 7million in tuition. Em no get home ties na em pay that amount, na from tree dey money take come out. He actually submitted landed property, his father was the sponsor, no study gap, 24years of age. So tell me what the problem was?.

Luckily, he decided to go to the UK and it took them less than 2 weeks to issue him visa for an m.sc program. He only paid about 2million for tuition deposit.

I will advise if you are young, say 21-26 and your target is Canadian PR please try UK tier 4 visa it is easier to get and faster too, after you program you get 2 years PGWP. After working for two years by then you would have recovered your tuition, you can then apply for Canadian PR via EE.
Na my one cent be this.

You have already said it yourself.
Gambling and crypto are not a reliable source of income. Crypto fluctuates and gambling has the tendency of loosing the entire fund. So such business is highly risky.
Based on his TIE to home, since he has landed propertyand building, that one is cool but not a guarantee.

Secondly, his career progression is not good enough. How can u convince the VO that u have not being doing anything related to ur career since he graduated. That doesn't show a progress.

Thirdly, no working experience since 5 years, not a good one. The gap is too much. Even if he is making money , there is no business to prove such income.

The VISA officer will assume the fund is was gotten from an unknown source.
thanks at least he is here, I told him to go for the EE where he can easily do a gift deed from parent or sibling but he is scared of French and IELTS exams.

If he is self sponsoring he has to tie the funds to a more legitimate business as the sources of funds has to be shown hence a CAC document or proof of existence of business is needed because he will still need to proove that he is gainfully employed in Nigeria
thanks

So today I had a heated argument with a friend, who happens to be freelancer turn cryptocurrency trader and sports gambler with about $38k(USD) portfolio to his name. this my friend, is of the opinion that he can sponsor his self for a one year PGD in Canada by just showing his trading history without being CAC registered.

Now my arguments are these:
1) Visa officer will want to know the source of income, and to my understanding crypto or gambling income is not viewed as a strong income stream because of its volatility.
2) He graduated since 2016 (5years gap).
3) have never work for any organization since graduation.
4) No physical business to show home tie. Although, he have some landed property and an ongoing building project.

I want to know from the gurus here whether he can self sponsor, taking into cognisance the points I listed above.

He currently viewing this thread.

Says a typical Nigerian..Staying in Nigeria would make you think everything boils down to Money..Then you would wonder why Nigeria is yet to do something meaningful about corruption..
he is right, this is not about Nigerians equating every thing to money. Do you know how much Nigerian students, immigrant e.t.c remits to this guys every year? after Indians and Chinese, Nigerian are the most immigrant crazy. You can likened it to binance banning Nigerians because of few unscrupulous elements. Nah, they only tightened the process so as to reduced the tendency to cheat.
