travel after studying you get 2 years post a study visa, look for job in any field save I believe if you work hard you should recoup at least 80% of your tuition fees, apply for PhD in Canada or another m.sc it is easier to get visa applying from Uk compared to Nigeria.

For those saying going to UK for studies is not a wise decision, I will tell you it is not true, you have three options.....

Get a work that has sponsorship visa, you have two years to do this, it enable get ILR within 5 years.

Get married to a British citizen/ILR holder you become citizen after 5 years.

if these proves abortive, after the two years apply for PHD, while studying come to Nigeria and marry. Bring your wife as dependant, let her work while you study, after your PhD, your wife will apply for m.sc and subsequently post study visa. Now this bring your stay in UK legally to ten years, I.e 1year m.sc + 2 years psw + 4 years PHD, + wife's m.sc + 2years psw =10 years. With this you can apply for ILR using the 10 years route. After a year you apply for citizenship.

Any of you can be on sponsored visa. Its actually wise for both couple to actively look during their time as a student so whichever one gets it becomes the main applicant

You are both each other support system.... and if the 5 years not possible, you both can plan how to go about 10 years rotating each other. Its perfectly legally if you choose to go that route

but I read somewhere that the dependant cannot apply for student visa or tier 2 visa from UK. He/she will have to apply from home country.

I will advice you if you have the money go to UK through school since it is the easier route, study very hard graduate with at least 2:1. Get the 2 years psw visa, try to get a work sponsor. If it proves impossible you can apply to USA, for PHD they are usually fully funded and also comes with livable stipends. While studying you can continue applying for jobs that sponsors green card, if the jobs are not forthcoming you can look for a citizen that you love to marry.

Note: it is easier to marry a citizen than getting a work that sponsors green card.

Why do guys seize every opportunity to insult Nigeria women, she is a celebrity for God sake and her major job is to look good. How many everyday Hispanic or Latin women of her age looks like her, their are many Nigeria celebrity of her age that looks like her. I don't believe UK student visa will become tough next year because of people posting UK pics on Twitter. Uk student visa will still follow this years trajectory, these are my reasons;

These guys are making a killing from our application fees, school fees and post study work fees e.t.c.

There are shortage of skilled workers in UK due to Brexit, and the need immigrants to fill this positions.

Now reasons people are rushing to UK in droves remains; Post study visa! Post study visa!! Post study visa!!! And maybe ability to go with your family,unlike Canada and USA that requires family home ties. Come to think of it, for a country that accepts family application why will they be angry that people are twitting new dispensation. What do they expect?

They only way people will stop trooping to UK is if they stop post study work visa. Which i don't see happing anytime. Because most EU citizens will not pay UK exorbitant tuition fees when Germany, Norway e.t.c offer free tuition. He is correct architects according to NIA should only get work via referrals and not advert of any kind even big firms in Nigeria don't have sign post.

Most architects especially junior ones don't follow this rule because they will go hungry if they do.

This rule is peculiar to Nigeria.

I may even graduate with 3rd class and I don't care, I have skills to monetize and that is what matters to me. Make money and leave this country. You have many Years ahead of you, 4/5 years cannot decide your fate in life.

Plus I graduated with a 3rd class so there is no possibility for MSc microbiology.

If you are a freelancer you can screenshot your page, showing the amount of work you have done, pending projects and earnings.

I graduate with a bsc in microbiology in 2013 complete my NYSC in 2015. I worked in the IT industry for 3 years till I opened my company(graphic design and photography) in 2018 which is my source of employment till date. I have completed an online IBM course in Cybersecurity and I also have CompTia A+ certification to show my dedication to the IT field.



Proof of funds
N6-7m in Business account which I am the major shareholder and founder
N3m in personal account
Paid tuition deposit of 8300CAD
(Should I transfer the money in my company account to my personal account as educational grant from the company to the founder)

I plan to fund gic funds OF $10k to show financial commitment with funds I will be receiving from family

Ties to home country
My little company (CAC Documents)
Landed property in my name (just a agreement and survey plan) N1m as of when bought in 2016
My father owns properties with C of O as well as share certificates value to be determined
I have all his names (junior)

Please any pointers before I go ahead with my application on what I should do to improve my application as I will be handling the whole process personally.

I will say no two applications are the same, but you have to write a convincing SOP highlighting reasons with pictorial evidence why you will be going for an advanced diploma instead of m.sc in micro biology.

Secondly, transfer some money to your personal account because Visa officers want to see an unencumbered funds. For the GIC pay something slightly higher than the required funds, lets say $12k.

Lastly, your age or marital status does not matter, what matters is your ability to genuinely convince the V.O. So take time to craft a detailed SOP. Good luck

And the funny thing is among the three basic things in life (food, clothing, house) food is the most important. Many people do without housing even in the western world and I haven't seen any mentally stable person not clothed.

It is heart breaking to see how food which is suppose to be the cheapest necessity of man become the hardest to get in a country where majority of
the edibles are harvested.

I made a research some time ago and found out that, rice has gone up %2000 in the last 20 years in Nigeria, so you see what we are facing in this country and worst part of the whole thing is, it is going up still.

It is the same thing in even the English speaking countries (UK US, Canada).

How do you think most people legalize their stay in US, if not by marriage or continuer schooling, an m.sc /P.HD graduate in USA have a very slim chances in legalizing their stay through work sponsorship. Because most firm will not sponsor you, because of how expensive it is and even if they do it will take you minimum of 8 years to become a Permanent resident or Green card Holder. So most student have to marry to stay permanently, while some not so lucky ones continue schooling since most P.HD are funded and also pay stipends for upkeep.

For Canada, although this is the easiest country to obtain permanent residence. It is not that straightforward, because with one year college PGD you qualify for only one year PGWP which may not be enough to qualify for CEC. So most student with one year PGD/C go for another one year PGD/C so as to get 3 years PGWP which should be enough to get one year full time skill job in NOC O,A or B. And with this stand a great chance in getting Permanent residence.

In UK, with the introduction of two year post study visa, which will enable student secure a job that will sponsor their work visa. If sponsors are not forthcoming after the two years post study visa, then most students will go for P.HD which will give them more time to search for jobs with sponsors.

So you see everybody are doing everything legally possible so as not to return to this country.
