lexy2014:48 Ministers?? |
Wait, can someone explain to me why we have minister of State and ministers?? and what the difference between both are? |
faceland:I won't be shocked if he leaves NATO. |
Man, there are some things you should never indulge in because of their addictive nature. Once you get involved in it, it might be almost impossible to quit. |
adioolayi:Desperate times call for desperate measures. |
dailybuzzng:This should be an example to the govt and the rest of Nigerians how an industry can grow when there is little involvement from the govt. Can you imagine how the entertainment industry will be today if the govt determined the number of music producers and movie directors or determind the content they could produce. This is called creative freedom. |
malali:Wait whaaaaattt? |
You can't solve a problem with the same kind of thinking that caused it in the first place. You need to think differently. Consistently thinking that a centralized power grid will solve Nigeria's power problems is wishful thinking. Just leave power generation to the states for goodness sakes. Its easy for one power grid to fail but not easy for all power grids in all 36 states to fail all at once. |
sulaak:What I am saying is that inflation is caused by many things and not always the printing of money. Another thing I am saying is that the Nigerian govt need to get out of the oil refining space and stop dictating who and who can build a refinery in this country and let business determine that for goodness sakes. This country has a large population and it needs more players in the industry to drive down the prices of oil and to bring jobs to the masses. Also, the fed govt needs to sell those refineries asap. Govts have no business running refineries - there job should be oversight and regulation! Referees should referee the game and players should play the game. Everyone needs to stay in their lane. |
Gerrard59:I don't think you understand how their system works here. The job of the Supreme Court is to interpret the constitution to a court case - in other words to make sure that there is no law passed or any action that one is committing that violates the constitution, not to amend the constitution. An example would be if the house passes a bill to restrict certain rights of the people, someone can file a law suit and take it all the way to the supreme court and say that the bill that the legislature passed violates the 13th amendment of the constitution. That's how the system works. You don't change a constitution by going to the Supreme Court. You change it (or ammend it) by getting 2/3 of the Senate and the House which Trump can't do because his party doesn't have those kind of super majorities in the house and the Senate and the 3/4 of the States. In other words, politically it's almost next to impossible. |
Some of the comments on this post are truly disturbing. How can someone root for a Goliath instead of David or a King Ahab instead of Naboth? How can a man wake up one day and decide to take his neighbors property despite having a lot of land himself (Russia is huge) and instead of rooting for the small man who is resisting the bully, there are some folks actively rooting for the big bad bully to succeed. This is just disturbing. Absolutely disturbing. |
Pickmycall:If only they had not slow walked arming Ukraine, Ukraine might have been victorious. I remember Zelensky constantly asking the West for more weapons and what they would say is they don't want to anger Russia. Now that the Russians are completely dug in, they want to now start providing the Ukrainians with all they need sad. Either way, i hope everything gets delivered quickly to the Ukrainians, these delays are annoying. |
WeddingParol:Putin fancies himself to be like Peter the Great, the man who expanded the Russian empire. |
Man, it looks like they saw this coming weeks ago when Obama came out to campaign and urge black men to come out and vote but it was all for naught. Harris really underperformed. She failed to motivate the base and was not able to motivate a lot of people to come out to vote on Election Day. |
sulaak:Yes, printing money is one way of creating inflation but monopolies are also another way. Monopolies are so counter productive in many ways and one of them is if you have only one player in an industry, they can set prices to whatever they want but if there is competition then they will be competing with other players for market share afterall consumers tend to want things at good quality and reasonable prices. Also, the more players you have in the market, the more people they hire and the more they reduce unemployment. This Is one of the major problems with the Nigerian economy. If the govt didn't decide who and who should be a player in the economy (through bribes and other nefarious means) then boy oh boy will the Nigerian economy be soaring right now. The fact that they can't connect their bad policies with the high levels of unemployment we have now is astonishing. |
sulaak:There should be way more than this 3 cement producers in the country especially for a country of 230 million. This is why there is so much inflation in this country smh. |
Kennitrust:Boom! |
ufotunang:Oil-Exporting Countries Still Import Fuel Documents presented to the court also show that many oil-producing nations with far larger production and refining capacities than Dangote continue to import petroleum. The United States, for instance, imported 8.51 million barrels per day (b/d) of refined petroleum products from 86 countries in 2023, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Another example is Saudi Arabia, which, despite being one of the world’s largest oil producers with a total daily refining capacity of 2.9 million b/d, also imports and stores refined petroleum products to ensure energy security. “Saudi Arabia, with five refineries and a refining capacity of 2.9 million b/d, still imports and stores refined products as part of its energy security strategy,” Abiodun pointed out. Similarly, other major oil-producing countries—including the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman—also import and store petroleum products for energy security. Abiodun concluded by arguing that allowing Dangote Refinery to be the sole supplier of refined petroleum products in Nigeria would make it a monopolist in the petroleum sector, a critical industry for Nigeria’s economy and energy security. “No country in the world has developed or will ever develop by encouraging monopoly in any of its key economic sectors,” he emphasized. https://politicsnigeria.com/exclusive-court-documents-expose-dangotes-attempt-to-monopolize-petroleum-industry/ |
Girl, keep your head up. You are going to be fine. Tough times don't last, but tougher people do. You can't only love your country when you win - Joe Biden |

Man, its about time D.C became a state. |
LegendHero:I am talking stats wise. The overwhelming (and I mean really overwhelming) number of illegals in the US are of Latin American extraction bro. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/data/unauthorized-immigrant-population/state/US |
monopolies are truly the bane of our economic system. They keep prices high for goods and services by preventing competition and they are anti-unemployment because the more firms you have in an industry, the more jobs are created. |
Lovenorth:hahaha, good luck with that. |
Man, how is the farming, construction and restaurant and hospitality (hotel) industry going to cope? They might really suffer the consequences of Trump's actions. |
Helpfromabove1:How is it painting him black? Isn't that's what he said he would do? Remember his first term when he said he was stopping muslims from getting into the country, isn't that what he ended up doing on his first day? So how do you expect him not to do that this time around? |

Dude, its mostly people of Latin American origins that are overwhelmingly illegal, not Arabs or Muslims. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/data/unauthorized-immigrant-population/state/US |
chopnaira:He will need a constitutional amendment for that. In other words, it will be next to impossible. |
sweetjohn:Dude, its mostly Mexicans and other Latinos that are mostly illegal immigrants in this country. Percentage wise, there are very few African illegals (and migrants overall) in the US compared to the others. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/data/unauthorized-immigrant-population/state/US |
TheChameleon:Actually, its mostly Mexicans and Latinos that are illegals in the US. In fact, when looking at percentages, there are very, and I mean very few African migrants in the US. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/data/unauthorized-immigrant-population/state/US |
