Bludeville: ... I have followed the ASUU strike from the beginning, I have done my research instead of relying on propaganda and blackmail that the government has used to fill the air. I know exactly what ASUU is asking for. If there is the slightest chance that this would work and improve the universities even slightly so that other students after me would have a decent chance at a better education, then I say Ride on ASUU.If i may ask please, what gives you the conviction that ASUU's primary aim is to salvage the sector rather than what i believe which is the fight for their pocket? |
UK Universities to go on strike. http://nairaland.com/1499346/uk-universities-go-strike |
tsleazy: one question !!Thanks for your question. In the first place, what makes you think strike is the right approach to the problems rocking our universities? I believe if strike should be used at all, it should be the 'LAST' tool in the arsenal of the aggreived teachers. Do you doubt the UK government wading into this isuue very fast to resolve it? You shouldn't, because they are not used to that 'last tool' unlike our very own ASUU here that has turned incessant strikes to joyous avenues to punish Nigerian students to agitate for THEIR welfare package improvement. The simple point i am making here is that, the lack of fast response to ASUU's strike from their employer is not unconnected to the incessant use of what is meant to be their strongest tool. |

You guys are doing a great job here... Wishing the incoming predites the best of God! Please, try and balance your academic life with spirituality. Only God gives good success. Success!!! |
Its quite unfortunate that some Nigerian students seems to be relieved by this news saying "thank God it is not only in Nigeria that academic calendars are distrupted". Something caught my attention in that report; ...But the unions say that universities will face the "most widespread disruption for years".Considering what was earlier stated as the nature of the strike; "disruption from a one-day walkout by lecturers and support staff who say their pay has failed to keep up with rising living costs". Just a single day and ASUU will be celebrating her 4 months old strike soon. Nigerians, let us think!!! ASUU is not helping us in any way. |

Light travels faster than sound, that is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. Enough of theories...practicals are needed. The world is waiting for you! |
shymexx: Bro, this particular title isn't hereditary like monarchy. I believe it's done based on experience, know-how, and influence. And if that were to be the case. I honestly don't think she's qualified for it.Please let us get our facts right. He has done much for Yoruba or Lagos?? |
Caracta: I sent you a PM. I'll be very glad if i can get a swift response. Thank you.So sorry for the delay, i have replied you. |
Hmmm... Is this thesame person advocating for a better Nigeria come 2015 election?? Only family members occupy lucrative positions in Lag... NIGERIANS SHINE YOUR EYES!!! |
Fynestboi: Reason why we need more coordinators. The debate will start from group stage. Where all schools will be group in four into different groups..I can sense something big coming up and i can't wait to see it happen. Suggestion: Please cordinators, when the grouping is been done, let us use the latest webometric university ranking prior to the month of competition to seed schools. It won't be fair enough if UI is to face UNILAG at the group stage or OAU taking on UNIBEN. This will go a long way to make it more fun and great. #MyOneCent |
Food is not eaten to increase the size of the stomach. You eat food to release essential nutrients and fluids into your system. The food that will produce these nutrients must pass through the digestive process. Likewise, you don't read to enlarge your brain. You can only extract treasures in it by thinking it through. Feed your brain, absorb the data and digest it. |
Wonderful tips there... thanks for sharing. |

Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence, and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing -Thomas A. Edison |

Marthakings: An usher told me not to put the 5 naira note I had with me in the offering boxhahahaha.. Mehn, this is funny o ![]() ![]() |
Mine was not really annoying but i blamed myself for going against my will to honour that invite. It was in a village where i went for an educational programme. So i was invited to this vigil, i was reluctant about the invitation at first but later got persuaded by my mates to attend it. When I got there, right inside the church, i saw ladies(majority of us there were students) dancing crazily inside the church. I was even scared if nothing was wrong with them. It was later i was told those are all forms of dancing to the trending secular musics. Right inside the church? I was surprised because i was not used to that. I tapped an usher and alerted him to confirm if those ladies were alright and if i was safe. Guess what the usher replied me with?? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . He answered "the holy spirit is the one working" Tus.h!! I was like, shey na how your own holy spirit dey take work be this?? Since then, i never stepped my foot into that place throughout my stay for the programme. |

Hmmm... Any person/leader with the intent to islamise Nigeria will be 'discarded' by God in Jesus name! This is one of the reasons i suspect this APC of a party. I can't trust Buhari, he tried it once. |
