IYA NGBALI: Kai see as him coffin fine,he come dey make death to dey hungry me.hehe ... this Iya Ngbalife sha |
mi xpressive: Where do you study?Obafemi Awolowo University. |
This is a welcome development! I contacted the Vice Dean, Division of Students' Affair of my school to ask him if my school can do same, he responded we will be the last man standing as far as this ASUU strike is concerned! The hope of resuming February 2014 is again blinking... ASUU, God dey!! |
Jingo-OAU:What year did you graduate sir? The scholarship was then 25k while the bursary was 5k. The goodwill changed when Mimiko was sworn-in. He cancelled outrightly the modality for collecting the scholarship and bursaryFixed! Immediately Mimiko came, he instructed that for any student to be eligible for the scholarship, the student must first, have 4.0CGPA and after that, the person would write an exam and failure of this exam might leads to disqualification......I quite agree the scholarship process both before Mimiko's administration and his own tenure are marred with irregularities and deficiencies. @The bolded; Do you want someone who failed a scholarship test to get awarded? lmao |
lilTunechi: Space Booker. Hw faI dey o... haha you caught me! |
Seun: You're lyingLwkmd! Seun, you badt o ![]() That akward moment you call Seun into matter to seek his appraisal or authentication of your opinion and you get an opposite affirmation... lols |
I don't think so because i try as much as possible to think before posting here and even on online social platforms generally. |
mckorode: Well like I said...mentality..we all know the fuel subsidy protest was a joke and most protests where rallies or concerts and people were having fun and making money.why do you think just getting the degree(paper) is more important than the quality of education. Even in the US not everyone goes to college and you are almost unable to tell the difference between a high school and college grad at first sight because of the quality even at junior level.back when education was quality that's when my grandmother of 80yrs went to primary school(standard 6) and up till now she can read novels, magazines and inspirational books.that's what quality can do.So what exactly is your point sir? |

mckorode: The solution to the problems of tertiary education in this country is public-private partnership.Your suggestion is a nice vibrant one but so useless to be applied to the current system on ground in our nation Nigeria. Like you said, i agree with you that the cost of our tertiary education is reasonably cheap but escalating the cost at the aim of getting quality education can be suicidal to it. Before you can consider raising the cost of anything, you have to consider the people you are producing those goods for. Are they financially capable to have it? A lot of Nigerians are out there working VERY hard to be able to afford that education you called cheap for their wards. Increasing the cost of education without the putting in place of necessary measures to make up for it is not good for Nigeria at this time. Why do you think Nigerians vehemently protested Jonathan's fuel subisidy removal? It is not that they don't know the deregulation of the downstream sector is a nice policy but because they don't trust the government and more importantly, no adequate measures on ground to reduce the effect of such policy on citizens. As for me, i don't see any difference in your proposal to that of the subsidy removal. |
AnsuEncore: Ehya see wetin ASUU strike dey cause, oga na chew no be shew... And I love d way u used d word "terminated" , I get d humour behind it.,lol Fixed. Thanks! |
Miner13: u mean ur own is at d receivin end wit ur half baked cert. Wen wil u jst reason beyond ursef 2 mak our educatn a beta 1 if nt d best.It took me several times to read this post to get what your talking about. Let me state here that nobody is saying the government is right and that does not make ASUU an inch better too. It is too early to start an arguement on a holy day like this. Maybe when i return from church, i will try to shed more light on my stance if necessary. |
ASUU is now biting more than they can chew... We understand you lost your member but our life should not be at the receiving end. Afterall, a lot of students have been terminated in course of this strike. |
https://tribune.com.ng/news2013/images/deji_falae5.jpg As i pay my last respect to this rare gem, i say he is one of the few politicians we have in this nation who work tiredlessly with his might selflessly. It might interest you to know this man is the only commissioner in the state who does not own a house until his death. He was engulfed with the passion to serve his state rather than accumulate looted funds like most politicians do today. I am not too surprised about this because his father, Olu Falae has a very similar and wonderful record. I just hope our politicians also think of a day like this when people will talk about them and do something worthwhile in their lifetime. I pray God in his infinite mercy will keep his wife and children and we hope to see a 'Babatunde' among his kids in the nearest future. |

@Boay, i salute your mentality to open a thread of this nature just like other threads with similar objective. I won't start an epistle here to avoid this thread from being derailed. However, let me just hope and pray this arena doesn't file in to join a lot of others with similar content that are yet to be efficiently addressed even after Mr Seun raised the hope of Nairalanders that he appreciated them. At the moment, i noticed the major concern of some members of this forum is about the forum moderation. I crave the indulgence of this concerned forumites to please let me tell the admin here that the continued way these pleas have been handled with levity is not going to help in any way. |
berem: How are you doing? Wetin dey happen for the other end?I am doing great. How about you? Still on this Sexkillz matter? I doubt if Seun has the gut to relieve him of his duty. Infact, i think Seun himself is confused! He admitted that he cannot talk to his moderators on how they moderate this forum. |
*following with keen interest* Evening Nairalanders... Berem, i hail o |
nice one |
The prize is small though compared to what we have been seeing over the years for similar achievement. Anyway, its a nice one from the FG. At least, oppositions and ASUU can take a pill. BTW, where is that lady that claims she loves Alampasu? Now that Alampasu was neither given huge dollars nor land and house in Abuja, what will you do now?? Lmao |
Personally, i think inviting him to the Super Eagles team will help him big time. It will boost his moral and also charge up the players in the national team to perform better as none will like to be displaced by such a young lad. Even if he will not play, inviting him will also help his current mates to improve their games as they too will want that. I will be glad to see him play in any of our build up games to Brazil 2014 World Cup. |
