Second song is "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" is a Christmas carol that first appeared in 1739 in the collection Hymns and Sacred Poems, having been written by Charles Wesley. Wesley had requested and received slow and solemn music for his lyrics, not the joyful tune expected today. Moreover, Wesley's original opening couplet is "Hark! how all the welkin rings / Glory to the King of Kings" The above doesn't really matter also, but the message. Verse 1 says Hark! The herald-angels sing "Glory to the newborn king; Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled" Joyful all ye nations rise, Join the triumph of the skies With the angelic host proclaim "Christ is born in Bethlehem" Hark! The herald-angels sing "Glory to the new-born king" We are looking at lines 3 and 4 Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled Christ the Lord. Peace on earth and mercy mild: Remember he was called the prince of peace, and a merciful father. This means his birth brought peace to the earth, not only peace but mercy. Isaiah 9 vs 6 And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Psa86:5) 5For you are sweet and mild, Lord, and plentiful in mercy to all who call upon you God and sinners reconciled: This is so true. He came to this world to be born for you and I, he came and died for us, that man may be reconciled with God before death. See 2 Corinthians 5:18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation Brethren in the lord, today the 25th, please rejoice and be happy cos Jesus has brought Peace to the earth. He's the prince of prince and a merciful saviour. Lets examine verse 3 Hail the Heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Sun of Righteousness![11] Light and life to all He brings, Risen with healing in His wings; Mild He lays His glory by Born that man no more may die Born to raise the sons of earth Born to give them second birth Hark! The herald angels sing "Glory to the new-born king" In this verse, we are examining lines 6-7 Born that man no more may die Born to raise the sons of earth Born to give them second birth Born that man no more may die This is so true. Not that man will not die this physical death of the body, but yopur spirit/soul will not die with the body. This is the promise of eternity. We have it in John 3 vs 16. 'That whosoever believes in him would not die but have an eternal life'. Though the body dies and gets buried, but your soul and spirit would live for ever more because of Christmas day. Born to raise the sons of earth Yes, he came to raise the sons of earth. Lets see Matthew 1 vs 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins He came to raise his people up to God Born to give them second birth this is so very true again. Matthew 9:13 {13} “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance He came to give us second birth. Remember John 3vs 3 Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again This second birth is not to come into this world being conceived by another one just as Nicodemus exclaimed in John 3:4. It is accepting Jesus as your personal lord and saviour and being baptized in the spirit. remember what John said in Matthew 3vs 11 "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire The second birth comes after being baptized by the Holy Spirit and fire. Finally brethren. Let us Rejoice that the saviour is born. Let is rejoice for the gift of life Let us rejoice for the gift of eternal life Let us rejoice that we have a saviour. Let us rejoice that we will no more die. Let us celebrate Christmas with Joy, in anticipation of seeing the Kingdom of God. God Bless you and have a very merry Christmas and prosperous 2016 |
I would be doing a short article on some Christmas songs, for us to reflect on the lyrics on those songs and the true meaning. Lets start with one of the most popular Christmas songs. O Come, All ye Faithful "O Come, All Ye Faithful" (originally written in Latin as Adeste Fideles) is a Christmas carol which has been attributed to various authors, including John Francis Wade (1711–1786), with the earliest copies of the hymn all bearing his signature, John Reading (1645–1692) and King John IV of Portugal (1604–1656) Well, the author doesn't really matter. What matters is the message. The song has four verses. We would discuss some. verse 2 God of God, light of light, Lo, he abhors not the Virgin's womb; Very God, begotten, not created: O come, let us adore Him, (3×) Christ the Lord. Line 3 says Very God, begotten, not created: This means the man Jesus himself is very God. Remember what we read in Philippians 2 vs 6 Who, being in very nature[a] God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage This tells us about the nature of Jesus that was born this happy morning. To liken it to that line 3, Jesus is very God. The other part of line 3 says 'begotten, not created' let us examine the The Supremacy of the Son of God Colossians 1 15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him The above verses corroborate the line in that song that Jesus was begotten and not created. No one can create a creator, just as a car cannot create its creator. This is a misery and sign of love, which is the greatest love. As you step out today, reflect on this song . Oh come all ye faithful. Scroll down to verse 2 and line. Another verse to reflect on is 4 Yea, Lord, we greet thee, born this happy morning; Jesus, to thee be glory given! Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing! O come, let us adore Him, (3×) Christ the Lord. line 3 says Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing This is so true and reflective from the verses we read in Colossians 1. However, the book of John 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome. The word became flesh and decided to dwell among us. This corroborates that line 3 in verse 4 Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing Let us take him into us. Jesus is all in all. Everything were created for him. Jesus is the God incarnate, that became visible to man kind. Just as the song says O come, let us adore Him, (3×) Christ the Lord. You must adore him, for his love, for his mercies, for his gift of life, for his protection, for the greatest love he showed to mankind, laying down himself as a Sacrificial lamb for reconciliation. That man may no more die. Christmas is about Jesus. Its about love. Jesus started from the cradle and rose to the cross to die. This is the greatest Love. This is the gift of life. Embrace it today and live till eternity O come, let us adore Him, (3×) |
What does Christmas really mean? To some its that time of the year that gifts are exchanged To some, its that time of the year to have fun, partying and making merry. To some, its a time to change relationship (a guy taking a new lady and vice versa) To some, a time to impregnate or get pregnant To some, its a time for carols etc To some, its a time Jesus was born To some, its a time to return to home countries and win over the girls. Yes it may be true, but Christmas is beyond that. Its actually a time of reflections. Its a time that the greatest love was shown to man kind. God gave the world the greatest gift. Gift of life, and eternity. A time to reflect on this gift and the significance thereof. There must be connectivity between us and this greatest love and gift, not just having fun and exchanging gifts. |
Xone3:you are in lust with his gifts ( prowess and probably wealth) and not in love |

Ijaya123:GEJ supporters are liars that are incomparable Here's the truth about oil prices from 2007-2009 Yar adua/ GEJ Prices then dropped back to $60/barrel by the early part of 2007 before rising steeply again to $92/barrel by October 2007, and $99.29/barrel for December futures in New York on November 21, 2007.[1] Throughout the first half of 2008, oil regularly reached record high prices.[2][3][4][5] Prices on June 27, 2008, touched $141.71/barrel, for August delivery in the New York Mercantile Exchange, amid Libya's threat to cut output, and OPEC's president predicted prices may reach $170 by the Northern summer.[6][7] The most recent price per barrel maximum of $147.02 was reached on July 11, 2008.[8] After falling below $100 in the late summer of 2008, prices rose again in late September. On September 22, oil rose over $25 to $130 before settling again to $120.92, marking a record one-day gain of $16.37. Electronic crude oil trading was temporarily halted by NYMEX when the daily price rise limit of $10 was reached, but the limit was reset seconds later and trading resumed.[9] By October 16, prices had fallen again to below $70, and on November 6 oil closed below $60.[10] Then in 2009, prices went slightly higher, although not to the extent of the 2005-2007 crisis,Nothing compares to what we have now |
Pidggin:Here comes the excuse. Jonathan is trending as the immediate past president that everyone seems to be calling hero now and now Yar adua or OBJ. People are comparing Buhari with GEJ and not Yar adua. Pidggin:Since our independence, insurgency hasn't risen to the height it got to under GEJ and we have lost more lives second only to the civil war in the five years of GEJ At the emphasized text. That's a lie Prices then dropped back to $60/barrel by the early part of 2007 before rising steeply again to $92/barrel by October 2007, and $99.29/barrel for December futures in New York on November 21, 2007.[1] Throughout the first half of 2008, oil regularly reached record high prices.[2][3][4][5] Prices on June 27, 2008, touched $141.71/barrel, for August delivery in the New York Mercantile Exchange, amid Libya's threat to cut output, and OPEC's president predicted prices may reach $170 by the Northern summer.[6][7] The most recent price per barrel maximum of $147.02 was reached on July 11, 2008.[8] After falling below $100 in the late summer of 2008, prices rose again in late September. No excuse. GEJ was a failure |
Pidggin:You see? What I just highlighted in the OP is happening again. Ignorance on display. Jonathan rule from 2010 to 2015, he couldn't give us stable power . Buhari has ruled for 7months, he should suddenly transform Nigeria. Interesting |
NB I had to type using my phone, hence the format and appearance |
Sometimes when I read comments being made by Nigerians on social media and others around, as regards this present administration, makes me wonder if these Nigerians are just ignorant, sentimental or still bitter about the lose of their 'hero' GEJ at the last election. Let's be realistic here. 1) This government is relatively new and few months old 2) This is a fresh administration with different policies and programmes different from the previous 3) It's also a new party taking over from another one. We always had PDP to PDP, which makes continuity (corruption, bad governance etc) very easy. Now it's PDP to APC. 4) What are the sources of revenue available to this government? 5) How much is the price of crude oil in the int'l market as at today? 6) What kind of atmosphere was handed over to Buhari? Peace or that of war? 7) What kind of economy was handed over to Buhari? What's in the Treasury that Buhari inherited?9) Was the nation already divided across not only party line but religious and ethnic lines? 10) Has corruption not eaten deep into the system to the extent that government workers or people would demand bribes to do what's expected of them to do? Imagine a driver that gets paid monthly for driving, still telling you to tip him in order to do his job? 11) What's the crime rate that was handed over? Etc If we a sincere people, we would realise that Nigeria is really sick and needs both human and divine intervention to rescue her from the dungeon. A nation that's suffering cannot be rescued within just six months. Let us now see how easy it was for GEJ, before he ruined Nigeria. 1) He got power from a very easy source. Obj PDP to Yar adua PDP and GEJ PDP. This implies that there were templates by OBJ that Yar adua and GEJ were to follow. It was same party and Yar adua was also rigged in. 2) In 2010, insurgency wasn't this high, hence Jonathan inherited a relatively peaceful atmosphere. 3) How much was left in the foreign reserve for Jonathan? How much was left when he relinquished power? 4) What's the level of corruption when he took over? What's the same corruption level when he left? Was EFCC not weakened under Yar adua and GEJ? 5) What about impunity? 6) How much was the price of crude oil when he took over? 7) Did he save the excess money accrued to the nation? Did he diversify our economy?9) insurgency how far? 10) kidnappings how far? 11) Dividing Nigerians against each other along religious and ethnic lines, how far? 12) LOOTING OF THE TREASURY, HOW FAR? 13) Malibu contract 14) Dasuki gate or Dasuki entrance 15) Diezani gate and entrance 16) lots more THE GUY had the opportunity to save Nigeria, but rather destroyed Nigeria from 2010- 2015. Fuel scarcity: Why didn't he fix the refineries and stopped importation? He had 5-6 years, but failed. Jonathan took over a better Nigeria and handed over a pseudo dead Nigeria. Buhari took over a very sick nation in coma and you want him to resuscitate her in 7 months? Haba. Let's be realistic. My humble opinion. You can add yours if you so wish. Wiki says As the price of producing petroleum did not rise significantly, the price increases have coincided with a period of record profits for the oil industry.[citation needed] Between 2004 and 2007, the profits of the six supermajors - ExxonMobil, Total, Shell, BP, Chevron, and ConocoPhillips - totaled $494.8 billion.[11] Likewise, major oil-dependent countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Russia, Venezuela and Nigeria have benefited economically from surging oil prices during the 2000s. |
onyxo76:Let's just support the government It shall be well with Nigeria |
Jesusloveyou:The guy is a fool, for calling me idiot. I wonder what led Nigerians into this pathetic level of reasoning? Chai. They can't even read at all. Where in the article does it say in unambiguous terms that fuel scarcity was going to continue till February 2016? Smh at Nigerians |
solemate:The highlighted part in your post shows you have no brain at all. What brought us here? Isn't it about the bogus claim by the 'fake' and sentionalised headline by Sun newspaper? What's my business with other issues? We are talking fuel scarcity here and not about power or economy. For me to test if you truly have comprehension challenges, summarise what the news is all about? Mumu |
Obviously, must of the comments on the first page are bereft of intelligence and depicts high level ignorance. They didn't read the news but chose to align with the sensational headline. Kachukwu is very intelligent and has showed it with that comment. The importers are only panick to import, cos of their greed. The matter on ground is so simple. In order to make everyone smile, price will hover around N87-N97 per litre. It was 97 since 2012 to early 2015. The 87 price was a gimmick by GEJ to win election. Returning back to 97 isn't a big deal. He said it could be 90, 95 or 97 and not outright 97. You guys should learn how to comprehend simple English |
Spycam still rocking. Some sport channels still freeze intermittently, but some others are super stable |
EMMAACHILE: |
aroseyi:Interesting. So do you have any solution to the worst and unbearable freezing of the only two channels showing on 36 degrees east? |
xkunzo:Just as detailed on the website. You have tourist, Education or business visa. Click on the section you want and follow 'religiously' all requirements. This is it. I went to Abuja on the 28th of September, 2015 and on the 2nd of October, 2015 my Visa was ready. Took about 3days, cos October 1st was national holiday. Common things are 1) passport photo 2) Invitation letter from Japanese sponsor 3) Your bank statement ( I presented about 3 and in excess of 5m) 4) Though company sponsored my trip. I still showed them I could have sponsored myself 5) my letter of employment 6) I'm a professional so I showed evidence of belonging to a professional body in Nigeria. Eg ICAN, NBA, NMA, CITN, etc 7) Introduction letter from my company hotel booking 9) Air ticket reservation 10) tax card That's all. But be sure you have a strong ties with Nigeria and the person inviting you from Japan must be capable |
aroseyi:Oga, let me educate you on some things about Qsat. There are two accounts now from the manufacturers of Qsat. Spycam and Avatarcam. Avatarcam works for only 36 degress east on older qsat models like 11g, 13g, 15g, 16g and 23g, whilst Spycam opens both 36 east and 22 west on 26 and 28gqsat models. Avatarcam and some very few spycam have been working intermittently and freezing badly for about a month. Some spycam accounts have not been working for about 3 weeks, whilst very few were working. Last night was when all spycam accounts on 22 degress west became fully opened. My spycam stopped working about 3 weeks ago, but started working last night and i confirmed from many other users too that had the challenge |
Spycam back on the west. 22 degrees west Almost flawless in the last 5 mins |
