Thanks a lot. She'll do that. yinore: She can go to VFS office in Lekki and tell them she wants to submit her passport, they’ll let her do it. There are no appointments for submission, it’s walk in. |

Please forgive me if I am asking a question that has been answered before but I would really appreciate some info.
My mum's visa just got approved but we are not sure how to submit her passport (she wants to do it in person). I saw somewhere that she had to book an appointment on VFS website but there's no available date as far as middle of next year.
Please guide us! We're not sure what to do 🙏 |

Please which DHL office did you use? I mean the area Good morning everyone Since getting my passport request I have submitted my passport to the Lagos office since I am in no rush. I used dhl two way courier and even got a return waybill. The last email notification sent yo me from vfs said that my decision envelope had been picked up from the vac in Lagos. Does this mean the dispatch rider has collected it or something? I’m confused because I am also tracking the dhl package online and it says that the package has not been received yet. This is the last message I got. Please help, I hope there is no cause for alarm. |

My spouse's PPR finally dropped yesterday (September 20th)! Thank God! The only documents we submitted for him were Police clearance and passport biodata page. No CV, bank statement, Job offer letter or salary slip. We had nothing else to show, so we could only trust God and he came through. We applied for a visiting visa and not SOWP. We felt that was a better case. For anyone with a weak profile, please stay hopeful. God can do anything! Thanks to everyone giving helpful information on this platform Daylight23: Good morning everyone. My PPR dropped this morning.
It appears the application had been approved already because few minutes after sending an email to the Nairobi office, the PPR dropped. Till now my Eligibility has not started, just shows final decision as approved. So sending mails may help.
Submitted Application May 17th Upfront Medicals July 22nd Correspondence letter and PPR August 27th
- A former colleague stood as my sponsor and gave her statement - I included nothing showing personal assets (been out of work for over a year, so no bank statement) - I am going for a PhD program (fully funded) - I applied with my spouse (still awaiting his PPR)
God is able! Thank you for all the information on this page! |

Congratulations!!!! Yeemmy: PPR ALERT
Application submitted: May 7 Biometrics completed: May 17 Request letter: May 14 Responded via webform: June 1 Responded via NSE platform: July 5 (uploaded Letter of Explanation with letter of English proficiency, and updated personal bank statement). Upfront medicals: June 1 Medicals passed: June 7 BVL: September 1 PPR: September 3
Documents submitted: CV Recommendation letter from my academic supervisors (1st and 2nd degree)—Both hammering on the need of my proposed PhD program and how it would greatly benefit Nigeria. Certificates and transcripts. Letter of support from my brother (He expressly noted the amount he transferred to my account, 2M). Letter of Attestation from my parents. Picture with my parents (recent). Land documents (Agreement).
POF: Funding Letter. Personal bank statement (4 months, with history of 3M). Brother’s bank statement (4 months, foreign account). Brother’s pay slip.
The wait was really daunting and exhausting. At some points, I was overwhelmed and doubting my application - It was after I submitted my application I join this thread, then, I began to raise webforms and SHOOTING EMAILS to Nairobi to further fine tune my application based on the recommendation and advice from the gurus here. More so, I PRAYED AND FASTED so that the VOs should overlook my mistakes
As at this time last year, I cant imagine that I could be at this level, in fact, I was about giving up on scholarship after receiving several love letters from Professors. Then, I give it another trial this year—I am heading to UBC for a PhD program with funding. (B.Tech 2014; MSc 2019).
To God be thy glory. Great is thy faithfulness.
To all PPR Hopefuls: You will get it very soon by the grace of God—Your labour will not be in vain. The mercy and the favour of God will envelope your application. God in His infinite mercies will cover your mistakes and color your efforts. The joy will go round. We all testify to the goodness of God and his name will be magnified. He will surely come through for everyone. He’s a faithful God: He thou has promised; he’s faithful and will make it happen very soon. It is well!
Thank you Everyone, God bless you WHAT GOD CANNOT DO DOES NOT EXIST!!! |

Please do you know which of them (Lagos or Abuja) processes faster. Also is the transmission fee paid when you send to a VFS location other than where you took Biometrics or is it a standard payment? CHIKACIC: See attached. Courtesy of a nairaland member.
The first is for Lagos and the second is for Abuja. The document requirements are applicable to both.
Hope this helps. |

I'll just use the passport the way it is. Thank you so much for the response. CHIKACIC: Congratulations!
Ideally, your passport validity period should accommodate the length of the visa you are requesting for and beyond. Otherwise, you may not likely get the full length of the visa period requested. This is usually stated on the PPR letter.
As other members have noted, renewal is out of the question now, because your PPR has a 30 days deadline.
Submit and hope for the best.
IN MY HUMBLE OPINION:
After landing in Canada, I think you can renew and apply for visa extension. However, there may be a pitfall here. I read somewhere that when one renews a passport with a valid Canadian visa, you cannot use that visa but rather you will have to apply for a fresh one. Please, I cannot verify this. I hope it is “NOT TRUE”. Just giving you a heads up. Kindly make your research and know what to expect.
Congratulations once again and all the best.
I sincerely hope this helps. |

Thank you so much. I'll just wait till I get to Canada. elenewton1: Congratulations. So happy for you. For the passport, I guess it is still valid (I mean the expiry date is still till even some days after you arrive Canada (I guess you are resuming in September). If that's the case, then you can submit this passport. I'm saying so because even if you want to renew your passport in naija, I takes 3 week officially (it could be more depending). Meanwhile, your passport has to get to VFS within 1 month of PPR. Do weigh all the options. Wishing you all the best once again and hoping your spouse's own comes though soonest. |

Congratulations Sis. Please did you do upfront medical after submitting your application? I thought it could only be before Queenmama03: Omo my story long oo! But i'll just go straight to the point.
First time applicant, self sponsored although I finished with a first class in economics, I have a 10yr study gap so I wasn't sure how that played out. Going for Masters in Economics at UNB. I'm employed and also have a side business I registered last year. Previous travel to US and Turkey. I wrote GRE, applied and got admission myself but when it came to visa application my liver failed me. That was where Frank (God bless his soul) came to my rescue. Timeline:
Applied 22nd Apr Vfs biometric 26th Apr Eligibility & background check started 4th May (may have been earlier but after applying I didn't check the portal until this date) Upfront Medical done 4th May Medical E-Slip uploaded 6th May Biometrics Updated 6th May (I had to email them a reminder) Medical Passed 7th May Ghost update 4th June Sent renewed passport & unconditional acceptance letter via webform 8th June Agreement prayer with husband when I noticed April applicants getting their decisions 16th June Ghost update 16th June BVL & PPR 21st June
Regarding ghost updates, I may have had more but I only check my portal once or max twice a week on average so I can't really say. Also I didn't pay school fees o, not even deposit. The Ijebu in me didn't let me part with my money before visa approval also my school didn't make it compulsory.
Document submitted Transcripts SOP GRE IELTS MBS & regular account statement (First bank doesn't have MBS so I just submitted the regular statement and included introduction letter from the bank) WAEC Certificate Degree certificate Employment letter Introduction letter from employer Study leave approval letter Consent letter from my husband We both indicated that my mum will be taking care of my kids in my absence Husband's employment letter and work related documents ID's of my parents and siblings
Hmm the waiting wasn't funny o especially when I see the type of document people submit here, at some point I felt I may not have submitted enough. I just told myself "las las if dem deny my application i'll just focus on my business''. But alas! God did it. Also special thanks to @Lekiboboe his posts really guided me when I was searching for graduate programs.
To all those still waiting, I wish you the very best, God willing it will end the praise.
signing out.
PS: If you dey go New Brunswick please hit me up make we reason one or two. |
