kubumilano: With diminishing revenue and the need to shift attention from Oil to Agriculture,The Ministry of agriculture is seen as one of the critical ministry in the buhari administration. The new head of the ministry is Audu Innocent Ogbeh Born 28 july 1947. The Benue Born Politician was a former chairman Of The Pdp from 2001 to January 2005,In december 2005,Ogbeh Formally Resign From the pdp.He was Managing Diretor of Efugo Farms Makurdi and a member Eisenhower exchange. The 68 year Old Ogbeh is seen as a Man who can defeat the also good Adesina, based on his wealth of experience in the sector,Do u believe based on your analysis that 68year Old Ogbeh can defeat 55year Adesina..Both men are said to be masters in the Game Interesting...Only time shall tell |

Gbawe: Bro, I can agree with you that Fashola was the choice of Buhari as VP but Osinbajo has grown into his own as VP and is doing a great job.
In the end God ensured things worked out well for Nigeria. We have a great VP and Fashola has gotten critical portfolios he can use to revolutionise Nigeria. In hindsight, even as I was one of those who wanted Fashola as VP, I now think it was for the best that Fashola did not become VP. If Fashola excels then this is a sure route to him becoming President in future. well said sir, only if Mr President can open their eyes to see what his VP have been doing...that Man has been one of the most busiest of them all |

InMyOpinion: These are some of the very serious issues we have in this country - seeing everything from a tribalistic angle. Will the armed forces or police unilaterally take up arms against the southern part of the country when the IGP is from the south, Chief of defence staff is from the south, chief of naval staff is from the south and very many senior police, armed forces and paramilitary officers from the south? don't we have southerners holding high profile positions within the security agencies? or should people then start to complain that most of the so called 'juicy" ministries (e/g Transport, Power, Works, Housing, Finance, Trade & Investment, Foreign affairs, petroleum, national planning, are in the south when clearly these were given based on who was considered competent to man them? Bros, for once reason straight! we have problems in this country and we cannot afford to be this petty at this time
We need to begin to reason a as a nation and think of moving forward! Whether we fault the amalgamation of Nigeria or not, the truth is fate has brought us together as a nation and we only do justice to ourselves when we act as such A very sensible post |

firstEVA: With the appointment of Babatunde Fashola as Minister for Power, Works and Housing, it is very clear that the president has so much confidence in Fashola, I am tempted to conclude that if not for the negative response which would have greeted a muslim/muslim ticket for presidency, Buhari would have picked Fashola as running mate. This is his own smart way of making Fashola his second in command. Osibanjo is just there like a piece of ornament. I pity the man that will marry you, is that how you reason Did u know that some of those portfolio's were given based on the advised Mr President got from his Vice? Fashola and Prof Osinbajo are like best of friends....reason with your head lady not your anus |

Politics › Amaechi Pledges To Complete Ongoing Rail Projects, Calls For Cooperation by dayo23(op): 6:21pm On Nov 11, 2015 |
The Minister for Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, has pledged to complete all ongoing rail projects around the country and extend rail lines to all parts of the country. Amaechi made the pledge during his first day in office as minister shortly after his inauguration by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Wednesday. He said that he would resume work fully on Nov. 17 when the new Permanent Secretary, Mr Sabiu Zakari, would equally assume duty at the ministry. The minister added that his meeting with the Permanent Secretary and the Directors on Nov. 17 would begin by looking at the budget and its level of implementation. According to him, the meeting is necessary to chart a new course toward completing all ongoing projects, especially the rail and extending it to different part of the country. Amaechi, however, called for cooperation from all parastatals and agencies of the ministry and the aviation sector. He promised to ensure a smooth working relationship with the Minister of State for Aviation for the development of the sector as well as meeting the expectations of Nigerians. The minister also urged the staff to always play by rule, adding that “I belief in principles of discharging my duties’’. “We are interested in completing all ongoing rail projects around the country because we don’t want to disappoint Nigerians. “It is important that we realise that we have a mandate to deliver on our promises and there is competition among the ministers to deliver and we don’t want to take last. Amaechi also emphasised on the issue of corruption, warning that anybody that would work with him must not approach him for money. In his speech, the Minister of State for Aviation, Mr Hadi Sirika, said that it was an era of new thinking for the actualisation of the change agenda of the Federal Government. Sirika added that the era of talking tough without acting was over, stressing that whatever was said was what would be done. He assured that Buhari’s administration would deliver on its promises, adding that the government was aware of the high hope and expectation of Nigerian. Sirika, however, pledged to ensure a harmonious working relationship with the Minister of Transportation to achieved results in the implementation of policies and programmes. Also, the Permanent Secretary, who was also appointed by the president on Tuesday, expresses optimism that the new ministers would deliver on the visions and missions of the change agenda of the government. Zakari pledged to give maximum cooperation to the new ministers to assist them in the discharge of their duties effectively. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/amaechi-pledges-to-complete-ongoing-rail-projects-calls-for-cooperation/ |
