McAdem: Ondo people should vote for personality not party

If PDP is the best ,they should vote for the candidate........remember Akpabio
When we think PDP, what we remember is Adedibu, Alao-Akala, OBJ, Fayose.

Abeg we no do PDP

kindabigg: My point is why single out Awo, when he was by far the best in that era? Did Ahmadu Bello care about Igbos? The same Ahmadu Bello who said he'd rather employ a white foreigner before an Igbo. And how was Zik better? The same Zik who never contested an election in the Eastern region, but went there to dislodge a minority who was elected over there.

The only leader in the era who talked about his ethnic group dominating others was Zik. I guess we know who was trying to dominate then, go figure!!
Leave the Igbos and their delusion

Crayola1: If its public knowledge someone should have written it down wink

A popular American musician married his underage first cousin, god father is not ideal but at least they are not related by blood.

So he disapproved, did anyone check to see his stance later on?
At the time of the wedding Chief Onoh disapproved of the wedding but that did not stop Ojuku from marrying biancar

So the premise that if a man(Achebe) disapproves, the wedding wont go on is hogwash. Hope you understand

BTW Can you marry your Godfather? the man who was there at your christening even against your fathers blessings?
lol at the bolded... I dont know why you can say this especially when you people have been shut out from fg. what humiliation are you talking about dAyo.
The humiliation is the Igbo land would always be a cave, would always be abandoned, All Igbo men hoping to make it would have to flee the place and Igbos would never rule this country until the whole Igbos and ohaneze apologize for killing our leaders in January 19666.

They murdered sleep and would not rest again

Crayola1: Provide a source, if you are going to claim something back it up.
These are public knowledge everyone knew Ojuku was Biacars Godfather.

Everyone knew Ojuku was sleeping with Biacar before she was a full adult

Everyone knew Chief Onoh didnt support the wedding

"Chief C.C Onoh, Bianca’s father, disapproved of the marriage but the two love bird ignored him"

Crayola1: Dude you need a life shocked

Henry Kissinger won the Nobel Prize once, if you know this man's history its clear that the Nobel Prize is not always awarded to the right people tongue

Well as nosey as Nigerians are surely if Achebe did not want his daughter marry "x" person that would have been headline story the next morning.
I don't know, Ojukwu was friends with Onoh so I doubt he would find fault in their marriage. Also marrying a person of consenting age is not pedophilia undecided
You need to read about Chief C.C Onoh refusal to bless the wedding of Biancar to Ojuku.

Ojuku was the Godfather of Bianca at her christening. And Chief Onoh opposed it vehemently.

Moreover Ojuku has been sleeping with Biancar before she was an adult, thats an act of paedophilia

Katsumoto: Of course the archbishop went to Enugu with the Vatican army. shocked

Bello's armed guards couldn't prevent his murder.

Col Largema was killed in the corridor of a hotel filled with people in Ikoyi

Ademulegun's pregnant wife was shot with him

Shodeinde's pregnant wife also shot at.

But no, we can't kill Okpara because there was an archbishop present.
Is it not funny?

I am expecting Tomakint to see the level people have descended to in defending the indefensible.

First it was that all Ibos were lucky to escape, or they simply forgot them, Now its the Archbishop of Makurdi who saved the lives of Okpara, Osadebey, Azikwe, and the hordes of Ibo Federal ministers.

Mimiko was a huge dissapointment in this debate. He finds it hard defending his 4yrs policies

Oke and Aketi are the winners here.

Oke is associated with the evil PDP so I stick with Aketi

nku5: You conveniently left out the fact that Okpara and Ifeajuna "met" in the presence of Archbishop Makarios of Cyprus. Makarios swore that Okpara would not be abducted unless they took him too. That's what saved Okpara's life guvnor.
The archbishop of Makurdi or whatever was enough to spare Okparas life but the presence of Akintolas wife, Bellos wife etc didnt stop Nwobosi, Ifeajuna and Nzeogwu from killing them?

folahann: How I wish Aketi has the voice of Oke. Mimiko is going down. He should talk abt what his govt has done rather than attack candidates.
Thats how an incumbent of over 4yrs should debate but when you have a governor who has achieved nothing aside building water fountain he would resort to personal attacks

Shebi we all saw Lagos State debate and how fashola debated based on his work for 4yrs

He is in a better stead cos he has 4 yrs already and he should talk about what he has done in those 4yrs

instead he is busy attacking those who havent spent 1 day in govt

tomakint: Are you aware that most of the Military senior officers of Northern extraction felt bad that Maimalari (the most senior military office from the Northern Region)was killed and careless about the Sardauna? Are you aware that, the gross corruption of the land at that time was mainly from the staple of the sardauna? Are you aware that Ironsi was lucky to escape death as a result of the telephone message he received from the Col. james pam? As for Ifeajuna drinking tea with Okpara, well I am just hearing that here for the first time. Then as for your comment here; "You kill my elders, you think I would send a letter to you asking you to present your own elders to be killed? I would wipe out your whole village", I think that's quite barbaric of you. Indeed I now understand why you are with the Nigerian government on the Civil war. The civil war was clearly an Agenda of the northern hegemony and we (the Yorubas) were used to kill our 'brothers in the eastern part!
If the Northern Military cared more about maimalari, Who do you think the commoners on the street who carried out the pogroms cared about? Definitely their Spiritual head. How many ppl were killed by military vs those killed by the Northern mobs?

Really? The gross corruption was by Sardauna and the Ibo politicians were saints with halo on their head. Thats a new one. Do you know what was said about Azikwe regarding corruption during that time?

Ironsi lucky to escape, Okapara lucky to escape, Azikwe(Ifeajunas uncle) lucky to escape, Osadebey lucky to escape, All the Ibo Federal Ministers lucky to escape. But all non Ibos were the unlucky ones. Honestly let me ask you, How does that sound to you?

Barbaric? Really? If you perform a barbaric act, you expect the other side to respond with decorum? You must be having a laugh.

Ibos have never been our brothers and they showed this in all their acts before, during and after the civil war. Its purely fantasy to think The same people who killed the Western Premier is our brother, the same people who bombed and attacked the SWest are our brothers

Brothers indeed. With brothers like them who need enemies?

Contrary to Katz. I am of the opinion that the reactions were FULLY JUSTIFIED.

Thats the way the world works, Lets forget all these idealism.

The children killed in Iraq and Afghanistan were they the ones who blew WTC?

The millions killed in WW1 were they the ones who killed Archduke Ferdinand?

The millions of Germans killed and r@ped in WW2, were they in support of Hitler?

Look at even the Aluu issue, the Aluu people attacked, were they the ones who killed those 4 boys?

rileest: It's clear from all the comments that Nigeria still has a long way to go actually... This is not a real debate, as someone pointed out, It's more of s soap opera with jabs being thrown here and there with Mimiko being the most guilty of this, he has not debated based on facts all evening but we Nigerian love someone that just shows to make is point. Akeredolu is a Lawyer so he doesn't have to throw jabs or shout loudly to make his case which is what the other two candidates have been doing for people to think they are doing well.
Thats the most disgusting part. Plucking stats from thin air. Mimiko is a disgrace

tomakint: Ok Katz let me agree with you here and let's now consider this: Now because many igbos either by act of omission or commission were 'spared' by the mutineers in that first putsch, then the next thing is to wipe out over 2million innocent souls for the 'few sacrificial lambs' that were actually the headaches of the country then. Tell me exactly what you are trying to prove or establish here; the rightness of wrongs or the virtues of vices? I am just curious!
Why should the onus of being right be on one part? If you perform a wrong act why should I be the one burdened with doing the right thing

You kill my elders, you think I would send a letter to you asking you to present your own elders to be killed? I would wipe out your whole village. And you tell me my response was wrong? When has response in war and Politics been equal and proportionate?

Can you tell us how Bello, Balewa, Akintola, Okotie-Eboh were headaches of the country but not Azikwe, Okpara and Osadebey or the numerous Ibos in the federal cabinet?

And like you were asked Ifeajuna saw Okpara 40hrs after killing Balewa but forgot his gun or how to shoot, His uncle also coincidentally escaped.

Its only a fool that would compare Murtala Mohammed to Sardauna Bello the Political and Spiritual head of the north or the Aare Ona kakanfo of Yorubaland who was also killed in his bedroom

Try it 100 times and you would get the same result

I answered you on what I would have done If I were ojuku. If I were Achebe I would have realised that the cockup was mainly Ojukus fault. Read from Effiong Read from Achuzia. They all are military men and they all know if the shoe were on the other leg they would have done exactly the same thing Adekunle did to them.

When Adekunle raised the poser to the German interviwer about the blockade surely the german Journalist looked like a fool

ADEKUNLE: Let me tell you something: When the Russians surrounded Stalingrad did you request a land corridor from them so as to better feed your soldiers who were stuck in the pot there? Of course you didn’t and I can tell from your face that you think the thought of a land corridor to bring in food for the captured German soldiers in Stalingrad is a bad joke. Me too. Where and when, …………., was there a war in which the loser was re-nourished one more time before the final loss? Why are you just calling for a land corridor for Biafra? Why aren’t you calling for a land corridor for the Viet Kong?

tomakint: The initial plan was the arresting of the corrupt politicians and if they resist should be 'taken out of the way'. Azikiwe, Ironsi, Okpara were all penciled down for elimination by the organizer (Nzeogwu and the other four), but what many people failed to understand was that, the coup had already leaked hence, Azikiwe fled, while Sardauna and Balewa chose to stay put believing it's just hearsays, remember it was Col. James Pam who quickly informed Ironsi about the outbreak of the coup, which eventually led to the death of the coup. Okpara was saved by dint of luck, it was just designed to be like that Akintola romance with the Sardauna in the business of gun-running (where cachment of ammunitions were being smuggled into the country) was what made Nzeogwu and his accomplices to strike. Sardauna had a Jihad ambition on the whole of Western Nigeria first then later other parts of the country. Nzeogwu said this in many of the interviews he granted. So the Igbos were penciled down for elimination but they were wiser while others choose to stubbornly remain! I thought you should know this, I have gone through your many posts here and I really love the way you master your history, I am waiting for your response!!!
Lets look at this

There are 4 regions and 4 regional leaders. 2 were ibos 1 hausa, 1 yoruba. The two Ibos escaped but the 2 non Ibos were killed. Okpara was lucky to escape, Azikwe Fled, osadebey was forgotten but Bello and Akintola werent. Sounds like Porkies to me.

The Prime Minister was killed, the President escaped. Of all cabinet ministers which was dominated by Ibos, None was killed it was One of the few Non Ibos that was killed.

All the corrupt Non -Ibos were killed but all the corrupt Ibos escaped? I had to stifle a LOL.

Igbos were pencilled down for elimination yet 48hrs after the coup Okpara was having tea with Ifeajuna one of the coup plotters right?

Ifeajuna plotted a coup but you think its mere happenstance that his own uncle escaped? Even Primary 2 pupils wont believe that.

if thats what Nzeogwu and Ibos expect others to believe then they really deserved whatever happened to them

After the coup, How did ironsi treat the plotters? 6months after the coup what happened to any of them? Nothing and you want us to believe it was just a stroke of luck and coincidence

There is a higher chance of a tornado entering a car assembly and building a SUV than all those being chance, luck and happenstance

I remember asking you the same question yesterday and never saw a response.

We cant talk about a civil war without talking about the january coup. Its like talking about Pounded Yam making and omitting the planting of Yams

Can you post your link on what you said about the january coup?

Cos most of what you posted just now has little to do about the January 15 coup which is the genesis of the war

Once you start an inital action you have to take whatever comes as a reaction. If I were ojuku I would have planned the war better, Got some world power to support my cause and back me up militarily. When the war was making my people die in huge numbers, i would have surrendered and I would definitely not flee warfront and leave my people to die
