He was actually trying to prove to me that he can game smoothly when he sent the prince of persia video but the thing is I notice stutters and resolution deficiencies. He also said FIFA 14 was "very smooth" on high and sent a video only for me to see that he had M4AA/anti-aliasing disabled, plus he had his. Fps settings locked to 30Fps and the actuality of it all was he was giving someone advice on a PC to buy for "smooth gaming" failing to mention that he had his settings capped.

Plus you should also consider that his native resolution is about 1024-1366*768.

Lmao, FIFA 15 has a complete re-haul from previous versions so whereas some low end PCs can actually play FIFA 14 well, they would not even start FIFA 15 at all. Konami is actually kind to the older generations though as they still allow lower range PCs run PES 15 and they still have support for the PS2, just imagine that.

This a lesson I've come to learn in nairaland. The reasons for people having laptops have been discussed to death in previous pages so I understand well enuff. It's jux sad when people with flawed logic such as "flawless" (this guy is a walking irony) keep calling others names for stating facts. Dats what is sad.

Exactly, imagine when someone like flawless was trying to convince me that his laptop plays games properly and sends a video of him running prince of persia, the framerate was at about 24FPS and then there was a two second lag(this was all before the game had even started so I can only imagine how it would play when it actually has) but when you ask him, he would say he games "smoothly" on his PC.

I couldn't give him any advice because I have no experience with entry level/low end laptop PCs so I had to refer him to the one person who I know that actually does, its as simple as that bro. And as for the part in bold, try to register on nairaland with the username DAZE and see what error you get.

Bro haba, the 770M is a better GPU than the 850M na, I do a lot of laptop comparisons and I have compared several HP envy PCs with the 850M installed with my Toshiba Qosmio and trust me, the 770M is much better. Don't let the model numbers and release dates confuse you bro.

You see the thing is many of these dudes act like they really know stuff when they really don't. The dude who you were arguing with just bought his pc a couple weeks ago and as such doesn't even have much stuff on it, the first of things he downloaded were games. When dudes like him buy stuff, they like to feel like they got the best value for their money even when every other person knows that it isn't true. My main issue with these types of people though is not how they feel concerning what they spend their money on but what they project to other people.
For example, if someone comes in here to look around hoping to get a range of specs that he can game on, they see those types of comments and feel like they can spend just 50k on a laptop and then play the best games on them.
We have been doing this stuff for a while, I wouldn't be bothered with the opinion of a noob. Don't sweat it bro.

Wubi sort of makes installation easier, but linux installed using wubi is slower than linux installed in it's own partition. Also because wubi creates a file inside a windows partition where it installs linux, if your windows gets corrupt it means you probably won't be able to access your linux either (unless the file is in another partition)

You can also create new partitions during ubuntu installations using wubi, and then you get the same boot options as a regular installation.

I am back on windows 8.1, ran the tech preview for a few days and I must say I am sitting on the fence of being impressed and not. If you have been running mods on windows 8, you'd get antiquated with windows 10 very fast and although it is supposed to be easier than windows 8, there is still a slight learning curve.

You know that my answer is valid. there is no need to sugarcoat the truth. FPS games are graphics and CPU intensive. Having said that, look
at his specs again and tell me what you see. He has an intel 4000HD (Integrated graphics), that automatically a NO NO and then look at his
CPU a corei3 will not cut it at all, combined with that graphics card.

most fps are not cpu intensive, but gpu intensive. battlefield games are some of the cpu intensive few i can think of. but u r not far from the truth....he'll struggle cos of his igp. its a general fact dat in gaming, gpu is the most important component.

This are all known facts but the thing is post people buy budget laptops for reasons such as "schooling" but end up wanting to play games on them. There is someone on here that I know who has a similar config as your PC(actually lower sef, his IGP is the intel HD 3000 and he has 4GB RAM) @lionbite and he has a few games running on his PC so you can hit him up and question him/ask him nicely to respond to this thread so there is a sort of reference for this types of issues later on.
