People haven’t realized the rigour of Obasanjo’s decisions, Obasanjo as paved the way for another leader to follow up and complete what he has not completed and succeed in what he has failed in, Obasanjo has created a society with more justice than the previous, believe it or not but if Nigeria is blessed with a good president next year it probably be because of OBJ, here is
a list of necessary and vital fundamentals that OBJ’s Admin has put in place.
(I) OBJ’s admin put in place a strong corruption and crime fighting organization (EFCC)
(II) OBJ signed bilateral agreements that will prove vital in the immediate future of this nation
(III) OBJ’s admin made the business atmosphere in Nigeria more transparent thus encouraging investors to invest into the nation and indirectly creation economical opportunities and creating money for the people through created jobs

[b]So I’m juss looking back at the way that life was
I’m thinking hard and it seems that it’s got worse
People dying on the streets
Abdullah rhyming without beats while Marshall Marthers reaching feats
Is it ever gon be good are we gon have enough food in my hood
People struggling while Shishi’s pimping with his tight rims
They be day dreaming thinking ‘bout paper ‘n’ havin pipe dreams
So I give a couple ‘o’ change but never makes a real change
And now the gap between rich and poor widens, there’s a bigger range
So to all yo’s havin difficulties put a smile on yo face
we maybe of different qualities but we all of the same human race
I sweating blood here making quality rhymes
But gays out there criticizing my style ‘n’ sayin I aint with the times
I’d say F*&K yous but I don’t swear in a pre school forum
Juss kidding Nairaland tight bless all those that are for’em
Cos who dissed me cos you punks didn’t do shit
Now yous bout to get gunned with the gat of a culprit
Thanx Pac for that line but no thanks to all wack rhymers
Screw all you gays you bunch of primate ‘n’ feline two timers

Politics › Re: Why Is Nigeria Not Working? by dblock(m): 6:07am On Oct 13, 2006
I believe the problems of poverty are complex and the priviledge of power is temptful

Corruption and mismanagement can occur anywhere in the world, but what is importamt is not the corruption but how the people and government react to it, for example in Nigeria, if a Kid steals something people at the scene can start throwing stones and attempting to beat the crap out of the kid or even kill him and no one does anything(that to me is more shameful than corruption or poverty), elsewhere in the U.S for example the kid would be given the rightful punishment, It's all about accepting and rejecting, if poverty is alleviated to a small extent and the education is there, the police functions, the infastructure is put in place, then Nigeria can move even more forward, But Nigeria is moving, the country is growing, but it's growing slowly because the infastructure is weak to an extent where necessities become luxeries, but on a brighter note the nation is showing signs of improvement and there is hope still wink

I don't live in Australia or do I, The government isn't spending a ton of money on such things like the millenium tower, it is left to the private sector. Take a look at CIA web, , you'll se that nigeria's unemplyment rate isn't bad at all, Even if i don't live in nigeria which i do not live in diaspora or do I, my mum lives in Nigeria and men the way you make it sound isn't how she explained it to me, butta that's not important. Lets not leave such discussions to be engulfed by thoughts based on what you see, you shuold also know that about 85% of the projects that OBJ approved are not complete and most won't be complete by the end of his reign, so i don't know what you are judging, I've seen a lot of the projects myself VIA streaming and they don't look all too bad, you're saying that roads are bad and nothing is been done when the 500 roads project is nowhere near completion, you're saying that electricity is bad when the transmission line from Inga dam has not been finalised and the NIPs haven't been completed, the best way to learn is from your mistakes and although Nigeria has made a lot of mistakes it learns from a lot of them, for example Aviation; we are all familiar with the poor maintanance culture of this nation and the two tragic incident that occured late last year, but not all of us are familiar with what the government is currently doing to fix the sector, it has scheduled for the construction of two world class airports, the Lagos domestic airport which is nearing completion and the Akwa Ibom international Airport, The domestic airoport which is currently been built ca be comapared to international airports in a lot of countries and there are even thoughts that maybe the Airport can also be utilised as an international airport. The government has aslo left the Sector to the private sector for the emergeance of new airlines to take off.

Minister pledges speedy execution of Niger Delta housing scheme

From Florence Oretade, Abuja

A HOUSING blueprint for the Niger Delta presented to the Federal Government on Tuesday will be aggressively implemented, the Minister of Housing, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has assured.

Receiving the report from the 15-man Federal Government Technical Committees on Housing Development for the Coastal States in Abuja, Mimiko said that the document would not be "left to gather dust on the shelf."

Mimiko said the development of the oil-rich region would go a long way in curbing the unrest in the area.

The government, he said, would not waste time in implementing the recommendation of the panel constituted to chart the course of solving the problem of housing in the Niger Delta.

He said: "Mr. President has demonstrated an incredible level of political will to address frontally the problem of the Niger Delta region. The solution to the region's housing has been brought to the front burner.

"A man that has a house is a fulfil man and the chances of his restiveness will also be reduced and we believe that the problem of housing in the Niger Delta can be tackled and I can assure you that Mr. President has the political will to do it."

Narrating the ordeal of the team during its visit to Kokokolo, a mangrove community in the Delta State, the panel's chairman, Mr. Fortune Ebbie, said the members saw the worst form of neglect in the area as the residents suffer in the midst of affluence.

According to him, the journey to the area on speedboat lasted for two hours before the members were paddled in a canoe covering one quarter of a kilometre followed by another one quarter kilometre walk in the mangrove before arriving in the village.

The village had no basic amenities and drink water from an 18-inche deep pond full of algae.

The village, he added, is surrounded by three oil wells but the residents send their wards to Sapele for primary education.

Ebbie charged the Federal Government not to allow the report to be treated shoddily.

Mimiko said the government would implement the panel's recommendations, including that of the stakeholders in the region.

The housing ministry, he said, would assume the role of leadership in the implementation of the report.

The committee, inaugurated on July 13, 2006, was to, among other things:

» Determine the communities in the coastal states of the Niger Delta to benefit from the intervention programme;

determine the housing needs (type and number) for each state and possibly, community in the region; and

determine the construction materials and the method of construction best suited to each state and where possible.

Nigeria is not working because the system isn't working, you cannot hold the government accountable for everything directly but you can indirectly, a lot of Nigeria's problems take root from Poverty, there are thieves beacuse they want money, Niger Delta is unstable because of poverty, police ask for bribes because of poverty, 419 because of poverty, The government as to fix up the system by building more nessecities like good schools and hospitals and the government must spend the money from exports on projects that can reduce poverty directly and indirectly, then the systam will start to work wink
