France was the better team but even without the Zidane incident Italy would have won, Italian players play well under pressure except for the 1994 world cup final, well statistics show that Italy are one of the best teams when it comes to the dying minutes, but that shouldn't rule out the whole game, France deserved that trophy , I could have bet my life that they would have won, but good thing i didn't grin

Politics › Obasanjo The Greatest President Nigeria Has Ever Had by dblock(op): 7:54am On Oct 06, 2006
Obasanjo is the greatest president this nation has seen when he came into power in the 70s he wasn't exaclty a good president he was a military bully thta some critics thought got what he deserved when he was locked up in jail, I don't know about the jail that he was locked in but it sure changed him, when he was elected in 1999 as Nigeria's new civilian leader he promised for stable electricty, good roads and a great general infastructure, but from 1999-2003 not much was achieved, again in 2003 when he was re-elected he promised for the same things but this time some of of the dreams came true. People wonder where the rest of the promises went and why there hasn't been a significant change in the lives of Nigerians, but it doesn't take a great leader to revolutionize a nation, it takes a geat leader that is also surrounded by cooperative colleagues. The federal Governmnet has done a lot in a lot of states the FG have introduced better communication services and built new roads, but the rest of the reponsibilites were handed over to the local governments. But the local governments (the majority of them) wasted their designated share of the annual budget on personal aspirations and ridiculous projects, Obasanjo is an ambitious leader who perharps made only one big mistake; expecting to much. How can things be achieved when a man that wants the best for his country is surrounded by thieves, the current governmental scandal that was exposed by the Economic and Finanancial Crimes Commision says it all only one man was really found clean, Donald Duke, great things were achieved in his state, Why? simply because he made great use of his state's share of the pie. Obasanjo will attend court shortly because of the transcorp shares, but it is true, Baba does have shares in Transcorp but only because of the future of the nation, a lot of the projects that were proposed were snubbed by private companies and local governments but his secret place in Transcorp made it possible to do the undoable, Transcorp wouldn't have privatised Nitel if it wasn't for his move neither would BPE or the Abuja National stadium. It's easy to judge based on the promises and achievements game but one must really put his mouth were it's due, The combined force of Nigeria's gorvernors is more powerful than that of OBJ, sometimes i wonder how he does his job, But he is doing great things God bless OBJ, Nigeria's Best President  cool

You also comented that nigeria hasn't done didley to curb the blah blah well the government of Nigeria has, they are in a conbined agreement with the other governments to try to chanel a river from congo to lake chad thus making it as large as it originally was and sustaining the local fishing and agricultural economy in the area, people like you seem to jump around issues without stating facts, Nigeria is leading the way America won't develop our economy for us and neither will Britain or other super powers we have to do it ourselves and if it means buyuing a toy then that's exactly what we'll do, it sure shows results doesn't it, improving communications and improve the standard of living by making such services as e payment and banking a reality this innovatives that have been provided by the current administration bring Nigeria closer to te rest of the world, funny what a toy can do hey tongue

Romulus:
Patriotic Nigerian! What has your country done to curb the drying up of Lake Chad! Why couldn't your Nig SAT-1 detect a plane crash site, as wild as the explosion was? And infact, isn't it so ironic that your satellite is monitoring a neighboring country instead of yours. That shit is a mere toy. I don't need to talk too much. Read about your Nigeria SAT-1(nick SAT-1) then you know what im talking about. To SAT 2, lets hope it isn't a liability.

cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool

Okada shouldn't have been a means of transport in the first place it's a crap means of transport that benefits people beacuse it's cheap. A low standard of transportation such as the okada is a anticalatlyst for the growth of Abuja, people who feel affected should go elsewhere like the okada drivers are doing it will take a bit of pressure of Abuja less population angry

What OBJ has done although unstisfactory is a lot compared to most of Nigeria's past leaders. Nigeria would have stable electricity now but OBJ chose a path to follow then started to be really serious on Power recently but it was a pick and choose issue. OBJ introduced a lot of things and i wouldn't mind if this project was political beacsue it's a good project and OBJ isn't bad president (I know this post will be followed up with hate replys about OBJ but i don't care he's a good president by fact not by my opinion)
Right on schedule like i predicted grin

Nahhh most of those leagues are too crap to get good coverage i simply evaluate from previews and based on the champions legue performances of those various leagues, I also judge by the number of high ranked pitch and the cleanliness of their FA's also the infastructure of the average team, the capacity the state of calm are there racist hot heads here and there you know the basics. And lastly and most importantly the entertainment i get from watching grin

Are you one of those i'm not Nigerian wannabees. Anyways Lake chad aint foriegn we also have a bit of the lake TIP; look at your map it won't hurt. Why do you blame the Nigeria for the limitations of the satellite when the sattelite wasn't even made in nigeria all they did was buy it we aint a money bag it's all we could afford as for SAT-2 that one is made in naija and proudly too wink

Hu´s visit to Nigeria

ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) 27/04/2006

Chinese President Hu Jintao said yesterday his government will seek much closer ties with Africa a resource-rich frontier of opportunity for the world’s fastest growing economy after signing oil and other agreements with Nigeria and granting the West African giant an aid package.
Hu, on the second and final day of his visit to Nigeria, addressed the country’s parliament on China’s relations with Africa.
“Africa has rich resources and market potentials, whereas China has available effective practices and practical know-how it has gained in the course of modernisation,” Hu said.
China is seeking “a strategic partnership” with the continent that would improve living standards for Africa, he said. China’s interest and growing profile has worried Western rivals among them countries who may feel their colonial ties should give them an advantage for Africa’s resources and markets. And some Africans have complained about being flooded with cheap Chinese goods.
“China’s development will not pose a threat to anyone. On the contrary, it will bring more development opportunities to the world,” Hu told Nigeria’s parliament.
The world’s most populous country, with 1.3 billion people, has also set new development targets to increase its gross domestic product and lower energy consumption, the Chinese leader said. “By the year 2020 , GDP would quadruple that of 2000 to reach $4 trillion, averaging $3,000 per head,” Hu said.
China’s economy is growing so fast, its leaders have taken steps to avoid inflation or ballooning bad loans. Growth hit 10.2 per cent in the first quarter, and China is hungry for the energy, timber, minerals and other raw materials Africa can provide.
During the first day of the visit, Hu and his Nigerian counterpart Olusegun Obasanjo presided over the signing of a string of agreements covering cooperation in energy, telecommunications, infrastructure development and health.
One agreement requires Nigeria’s Petroleum Ministry to give China’s state oil firm preferential access to oil blocks in return for a Chinese undertaking to take over a loss-making refinery in the northern city of Kaduna.
Under other deals, Chinese firms will build a hydroelectric power station in the northeastern Mambilla plateau and a high-speed rail system linking the Nigerian capital Abuja with the economic capital, Lagos.
Two Chinese telecommunication firms, Huawei Technologies and ZTE, will execute large contracts for rural telephone service across Nigeria with the help of concessionary loans from the Chinese government worth more than $200 million (161 million euros).

That same satellite is the same one that found out that the lake chad was drying out (FROM SPACE) I don't know about you romulus but my eyes can't see a lake and tell it's drying up from space, I don't know about you but my eyes can't make new maps. Also on the issue of telecommunication and satellites a new Nigerian satellite(NOT theSat-1) has been launched it'll be more for telecommunications than for mapping cool
