The annoying thing about this issue is that it's been on for 2 years now on nairaland and no one here has been charged for this issue....Someone last year or 2 said he got the permit and was advising everyone else to get it....I hope he has renewed it now....

How is anyone being harrassed at the airport because he drives on uber....the same law that applies to uber applies to private car owners who come to the airport even to Airport staffs with little preference...Tell me how anyone will know who is an uber driver at the airport if you respect yourself....some uber drivers turn themselves to cabu cabu picking up people at every bus stops...is that uber......airports anywhere in the world have rules and regulations...designated parks which is meant for everyone....why are there no bikes or danfo at the airport even before the ban but is uber stopped from coming to the airport? Abide by the rules that is for everyone and you will be fine...being an uber driver doesn't make you a marlian...and there are no laws specially made to punish uber drivers...none....maybe they charge you more though...but you wont be harrassed just because u are an uber driver...
It says "strictly drop off"....dont spend more than 5 minutes...but then you are trying to collect your money from rider who wants to make transfer and you caught....then you say am uber.....Listen....Uber doesn't pay the airport managements... so they have no reason to treat you differently...that doesn't mean they harassing you....cos u an uber driver....

Sars had no jurisdiction for traffic stops and they would have been in trouble if they took them to jail because they have explicitly been ordered to get off the roads. If you're ever threatened by SARS, don't unlock your doors and windows down just a crack to talk. Ask why you were stopped and politely ask what probable cause they have to want to search your car. They won't be able to come up with one. if they make up one or insist, agree, in fact politely insist you go to the station for the search. They will let you go and beg for a little fuel money. I don't give it to them though. In fact they avoid my car now since the day they tried that nonsense and I insisted we go to station. They jumped in their car and I chased them down the freeway yelling "are we not going again"??

I don't suggest you chase them like i did but politely call their bluff about the station and ask them to follow you there as you have no money and would like a thorough search done where it can be documented. If they know you know your rights, they are likely to let you go. But then again, what do I know?

Uber just want us to move to taxify. The only problem I have with taxify is I loose money too much on taxify. Yesterday the olosho I carry never pay. Her boyfriend promised to transfer d money. After begging me for like 30 minutes I allow her go. Now them no pick my calls. N2,200.

Uber will revert it if drivers stop taking trips on their platform...Drivers should only do surge trips on uber....log off on uber especially at busy hours to create surge...when riders start paying double...they will run..
Some hardworking drivers will complete that 30 trips within 2 days sha...but people like us that go online on the side cant even do 20 not to talk of 30...I run the 15 trips to Saturday sef...haven't gone online since the 20...now 30...
Drivers have the power if only they know how to use it....

Uber allows the following in case you dont know:
1...a driver can cancel a request if a rider chose a wrong pick up spot...
2...if he/she feels unsafe...
3...too much luggages....
4....if the ride is not worth it....etc...
So u see a driver can decline to go your way if he feels unsafe...and your ride is not worth it...

So be a Boss,,,,buy a car....get a driver....and stop using uber/taxify....let the arrogant drivers suffer....

I will say what my boss said once, if this job was easy, you would not be doing it. Every job has great days and horrible days. My commute to work used to be Orile. I have been robbed there once, once on Xmas eve, they came close but I had already sighted them and taken evasive action, several times boys tried intimidation and I showed craze. Can you tell them at work I can't make it because road is bad? I have slept over night at sites. I have used my own money on projects.

I am simply saying you have to go the extra mile. And it has to be an attitude.

We had a project years ago in Ijora. A real mess. Towards the end we were in crunch and it was hell. The contractor had one guy who had been disturbing all of us to assist him with employment. The guy just vanished. Meanwhile there was a youth corper who was staying overnight, dropping his own money to make things move. After the project we had a vacancy and I called him without him calling me. I told him all he needed to know and we engaged him. This was five years ago and he has been on the system since in one way or another.

He could also have said not my problem, I am not paid enough for this, they are cheating me. He would have been right and he would have missed the opportunity that materialised.

You do not always know who your ride is.

you could change your environment and have a safer access to your workplace....
