25k weekly rental will only make sense from an investor perspective if d driver takes care of maintenance which in most cases would not be done promptly as it should be....also if...

1. car owner is naive....thinking a lower rental would safe the car from abuse...10k rental would not stop a bad driver from assaulting ur car....

2. car is problematic....driver does one day on...one day off....

3.. owner makes use of car few days within the week..
4...car is not Corolla....a cheap car should go lower...

Truth is that the market is over subscribed with drivers everywhere....but a driver should make at least 7 to 10k daily if u are experienced enough....on the average...a driver should make 60 to 70k weekly....
Now when he deducts fuel cost, data, toll, etc...he is left with little....
This is the reality.......but it isn't the owners fault....it is the reality...which drivers should live with till hopefully things change...

Askin owners to further lower the rent to accommodate the reality is unfair....as it takes years to even recoup your money...(if u ever will)..

Most drivers have to wake up to reality....and be prudent in their responsibilities...driving a car doesn't mean u have arrived....a driver I know is in the habit of ordering taxify for his girlfriends and he keeps changing cars monthly...

Listen to the newbies........Your monthly take home on this hustle is.....50k to 80k excluding transport....simple

DRIVERS Vs CRAZY RIDERS
Feel free to add your own ....

But on a more serious note, I doubt if a married man (or even a single guy) on rental will be able to save enough money from this job to buy his own car.

I'm married with only one child for now and I don dey drive my own car, 5 days in a week for over one year now, so... I'm talking from experience.

GUY! see ehn... By the time u do all the minuses and pluses, including family basic needs, not wants Ooh... SMH.

But wetin LOCAL MAN go do ? Nah to continue the hustle until something better comes up. grin
truth is uber at best is to keep one alive...but it baffles me y drivers prefer rentals....I mean to what end...?.. There are good drivers paying rent for over 2 years on the same car...I mean dey probably might have owned the car if dey were on hp....but dey will shout hp!!!! bros no put your head o...If you ask why...dey will say repair and all..but I have been driving my Corolla bought toks...last year June...and I have never spent a kobo on repair....aside from the routine maintenance...so with a good car...and a fair contract...but most have never been on hp..but are scared because someone else had a bad experience...I agree that I dont drive much on the platform but with a strict adequate routine maintenance u would spend less on repair if any...

That is the bottom line.. Let the young man buy is car of choice ..I can't be spoon feed people all the time . Each to his own
I am not a big fan of your antics here but it is scary how some drivers want your car basically for free...am sure no one forced u to drive their cars but the hatred some drivers have for their partners is just alarming....

I agree the job isn't easy but no one forced u...agree hunger is bad...but then look for a reasonable partner to drive for....dont sign or collect a car out of desperation...

Asking for 35k rental at this point is laughable...but then again u have a choice to reject the offer...

but u collect the car...and then hate the partner for asking for his money....like seriously....

some would destroy your car because they hate u....to invest in this country dey fear person...later we will be complaining of no jobs...

Okay let me twist English small. An employer is the one who pays an employee an agreed amount of money (mostly) as income on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. So in this ehailing business, we know the real employers cheesy
okay...so I bought a car mainly for the purpose of ehailing business....I put up an ad for a driver...I interviewed drivers... hired a driver to deliver to me a certain amount....do you still think we both own the business..thereby making us equal in the business...huh

Or....I have a car in my compound....a man comes to me to ask for the car for ehailing...we negotiated....he took the car and started the business....
Spot the difference....huh
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Dbossmanager: 8:19pm On Jul 22, 2019
For me o though....every human being must be treated with respect no matter the hierarchy....
and both drivers and owners are partners....but the owner is the boss...

let say he is the CEO....and d driver is the manager....

The CEO can fire the manager....the manager can resign from his position....not fire the CEO...
An owner can collect back his car...some even go physical.....but the driver can only walk away and be back here looking for a new partner....

who else was in magodo this morning....the traffic in there was terrible....

" your ability to feed is because he gave him a car which gives him some kind of right to say " is false.
Car might be rented for another purpose aside ehailing.
Renting of car has been in existence for ages.
There was a dj....( forgotten his monicker) that was seeking a car to rent some months ago here on this thread. Ofcourse, its clear he needed it for a diff purpose aside ehailing. If he eventually gotten a suitablè rented car deal, is he employed or partner with d car owner?
Irrespective of what d rented cars are used for, its partnership
you are right bro...car can be rented for different purposes but I was more particular about ehailing....

but in anyways contract would be signed...and 99.9% of the time...some agreed amount would be paid upfront....in that case the ability to pay for the rent isn't necessarily attached to the car...so we could say they are partners....but not the case with ehailing rentals without down payment..

1. You set up a rental business and I came to rent your car, I am not your employee but a business partner, abi you will give me employment letter? grin and pay salary whether there's sales or not

2. "I see uber guys get serious accidents, and I ask myself...."What's the fate of the car owner"
Why not also ask what's the fate of the driver? (If he dies or gets handicapped) and the fate of the family that depends on him
but you are not a business partner if u didn't pay upfront. I mean your ability to pay your rent is dependent on the car he gave you. i.e your ability to feed is because he gave you a car which gives him some kind of right of say.

Drivers on hp with some down payment could be considered as partners because they have some amount of stake in the business.

Drivers on hp without down payment can best be described as a boy who ( pardon my choice of words) serves his boss for some certain years to be settled at the end of the agreed years.

Contracts signed also determines if you a partner or not....most drivers on rentals have no contract aside pay me 30k...I will handle repair and all...

Drivers on rentals should have some kind of insurance to their lives which should be funded by the partners...but then again most drivers are desperate to drive and earn and would take any deal as far as they get d car.

As per Jesus son, that nigga is not real. At least not as he's presenting himself here. He had to make his narrative believable by claiming 22yrs old. Cos no normal adult with dreams and responsibilities will be so joyous at the sight of 20k/week.
20k per week after fuel isn't bad for a driver on rentals honestly...he earns almost the same as a man who earns 120k per month working on the island which is like on the high...however I think drivers should seek for reasonable hp than rentals...atleast you can endure to enjoy...my opinion though....
