I said they would never get over it! I said it! Jonathan and the PDP have long been booted out. This is their own little way of making the country ungovernable for the new administration. But the wonderful thing is; no impeachment, no re-run till 2019. Infact none till 2035. You wailing machines should keep on running your parallel government on nairaland and twitter while the man Buhari presides over the aso villa. |

ElCule: I voted 2 PDP candidates and 3 APC candidates. So how am I PDP sympathizer? I did not comment on Aribisala's write up. I only quoted you when mentioned PDP and 16 years which APC suporters are fond of using and does not make any sens. THEY ARE ONE AND THE SAME. Son, só why didn't you comment on Aribisala's but mine? |

ElCule: Mr granpa, I don't belong to any political party. Aribesala is a PDP mamber hence the cricticism even at that he still cricticized PDP in the write up. He may decide to decamp to APC taday and grandpas like you will hail him, call him a change agent(as you do to any PDP decampee) and say PDP destroy Nigeria for 16 years. This is how shallow some Nigerians reason, people make PDP so does APC. I have candidates both in APC and PDP because I see beyond party and vote for the better candidate. Unlike you who will queue up behind anything APC throws at you. son, I put it to you that you are a pdp sympathizer! You simply don't understand my post. You were very quick to question why I said pdp is the worst thing but you didn't quote and criticize aribisala for saying apc is the worst when you have claimed that pdp and apc are the same people. Thats hypocrisy not objectivity on your part. |

Comments like this makes people like Amaechi, kankwaso, Goje,Abdulahi Adamu,Gemade,Ogbe et al laugh real hard and call Nigerians fools. What is the difference between PDP controlled states and that of APC? Our politicians are one and the same, why do you think they change political parties anyhow? Because thay care about you? Bro, don't allow party sentiment cloud your judgement. Call a spade a spade Nice sermon boy! But I don't see your post where you criticized this aribisala for saying apc is the worst thing to happen or whatever. Why didn't he say both apc and PDP are the worst thing to happen to us? Since they are the same thing abi? You didn't see that one o, na my own you see! Pretender, stay there and be forming objective. Yawa! |

josite: let me help dakuku out.the supreme court of nigeria like the house of lords in britain is not strictly a court of law like the high court of justice By now all should have note that it is only the high court that is labelled the high court of justice, the court of appeal or the supreme court are never labelled as supreme court of justice or court of appeal of justice.
the court of appeal deals strictly with the law and not necessarily with the justice of the case while the supreme court is a court of policy .Even though the letters of the law may say morning in nigeria starts from 6am to 7pm .the supreme court may DISCERN THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW and still go ahead to interpret morning as commencing from the time the morning light is out ,when everyone can clearly see without the use of torchlight .
yes there may be electoral violence and irregularities in those elections affirmed ,the supreme court as a policy arm of government upon whom the safety of the realm lies may well decide that Nigeria cannot afford to have a one party state therefore the opposition will have to be given a foothold and therefore decides to leave those states in the hands of the opposition.
The supreme court has done this several times and has in times past says governors consent even when obtained after deed of mortgage was executed is still valid consent though the land use act actually says consent must be first had and obtained.
the house of lords in england too many times especially the 3rivers case also refused to give heed to the strict letters of the law seeking to encroach on legal practice privilege attaching to the attorney client communication and also held that whatever the client tells his lawyer ,even the admission of guilt cannot be expected to be disclosed to law enforcement agencies as doing so will make legal practice almost impossible.
dakuku should go and rest.supreme court has the final say.whether bribe or not, they are the interpreter of the laws in nigeria and if they say from today daytime starts from 8pm in Nigeria to end at 11 midnight,it will take effect and anytime thereafter u greet me good morning when you see me at 8.30pm.
what Nigerians can do is to ensure charlatans never make the supreme court because it will cause untold hardship.in uk the supreme court is called HOUSE OF LORDS.L O R D meaning final as in JESUS IS LORD.
PLEASE GET IT NOW AND FOREVER,SUPREME COURT IS A BALANCER OF THE POLITY.MAKING SURE THE NATION IS NOT TILTED TOO MUCH TO ONE SIDE,PDP SIDE OR APC SIDE OR NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SIDE OR THE PRESIDENT SIDE OR THE MASSES SIDE.
I congratulate the supreme court for yet effecting another delicate balance in the polity. even St Paul would be marvelled by the length of this epistle. Completely unnecessary today. The context of this argument is Mr Wike confessing with his own mouth that Peter Odilli told him whom whom whom and whom to go and see during the supreme court deliberations. Wike even had to mention the name Mary Odili in the process. Supreme court is now to balance the polity not to dispense justice abi? Remember to congratulate them next time they decide to balance political parties. |

Bigchief46: Okay Sir, I get it: we should forget what our CONSTITUTION says; we should forget what our SUPREME COURT says; we should forget what established principles say; we should forget what oyibos do; we should abide by what YOU, as the all-knowing says. It doesn't occur to you to contemplate that contrary to your ARROGANT know-all disposition, there might in fact be very good reasons of public policy distilled over many years of jurisprudence for this position of the law. Okayoooooo, you do well you have got comprehension problems. |

Bigchief46: Have you heard of "double jeopardy"? No? Then read it up; it's a Constitutional matter as well & you don't need to curse the Courts: no one can be tried twice for the same offence. That is the same principle world wide & I hope you know we inherited our judicial system from the "Oyibos". Every person now feels free to come to social media; assume a moral high ground and abuse our Courts; no wahala. If the O.J. Simpson case had been tried in Nigeria & the same verdict reached; you guys would have lynched the Judge. Smh forget what the constitution says, forget what the oyibos do, forget what the principles are. You are a human being and God gave you logic and reasoning. What does your common sense tell you? The summary of my post is; if the supreme court cannot reverse itself whatever it recognizes an error in its judgement then something is wrong. The supreme judges are not infallible and are not gods. Take note: iam not saying this to make a case against fayose(that seems to be your worry) iam only dusgusted by a law which forbids the supreme court from reversing it's decision even in a glaring case of error. |

JusticeSeeker: Reasons to believe the justices were bought over: 1. Wike's public efforts to see the CJN. 2. Wike's confession that Odili and wife who is a supreme court justice were her technical advisers concerning the judiciary while the legal battle lasted. 3. The earlier celebration of Victory by pdp on the day of judgment delivery. 4. Wild spread condemnation of the election by both international and local observers. 5. Negligence of what has brought real change in our electoral system - Card Reader. one wonders while our justices will choose to remain analogous in this digital age. stop arguing with these people. What is done is done. The day shall come when they will start crying and complaining about tyranny and decree 4 . just relax. |
