Ibra has scored so many of this kind of goals, saying it is due to keeper mistake isn't fair on the keeper. I could as well say messi's solo runs is as a result of bad defending
so the 1st defender make a mistake, 2nd made a mistake, 3rd, 4th, 5th made mistakes? haba guy! not all but most long range goals are fluke goals. think about it.
What about the countless acrobatic goals and scoring from impossible angles ?
that Ajax goal shows his great dribbling skills
Can you see messi or Ronaldo scoring acrobatic goals with the ease at which Ibra does it ?
yeah, acrobatic goals and long rangers are always a beauty to see. but looking at it critically, 9 times out of 10 such goals are always the goal keeper's fault. either he didnt see it coming or he was out of position. but when a player has to dribble his way through several defenders to get himself into a position with just the goal keeper to beat from close range, now that is genius! long rangers are a 50-50 thing. they could go either way. they are mostly like fluke goals.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Between Ibra,Ronaldo And Messi Who has scored the most Spectacular Goals by ddippset(m): 9:55pm On Oct 28, 2013
This goal is very popular I find the Url to a youtube video.
yeah i think ive seen it. very spectacular goal. the differences- number 1. ibra started from 25 yards, messi from 40 yards. number 2. ibra beat only 3 players cus they kept coming back, messi beat 5 players. that's not to take anything away from ibra. the goal was great- i think it's more spectacular than the long shots he's been scoring lately.
Zlatan scored something similar to that messi's Goal while playing for Ajax. fancy goals scoring ? Nobody does it better than the swede ninja.
lol. what match and what year? just tell me and let me search for that goal he scored for ajax. alot of people going with ibra. why am i not surprised? the crowd would always go with anything other than messi and ronaldo! we are tired of the duo winning everything.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Between Ibra,Ronaldo And Messi Who has scored the most Spectacular Goals by ddippset(m): 6:23pm On Oct 28, 2013
whathuh you think long rangers are the most fantastic goals? well it all depends on what appeals to you as a fantastic goal. shooting and scoring from 40 yards or dribbling past 5 defenders and scoring a goal. nothing more ingenious than dribbling half of a team and putting the ball in the back of the net. zlatan and ronaldo have never scored a goal as wonderful as the messi getafe goal.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 10:01pm On Oct 26, 2013
philfearon: I saw someone saying of ball possession..Really? Yet u forgot that Barca had to discard possesion against Rayo Vallecano to win the match...
@ddipset,If you like play 99-1 in possession, but without shots on goal, you cant win a match.....
Therefore,Logica was 100% very right in his statement........Stop being biased bro{@dippset},and like he said,if you will start watching ball as a scholar{literally},you will start understanding these things
i need to understand these things alright, but all you guys need to learn is the language. nobody said anything about winning a match. winning a match is different to dominating a match. true; possession doesnt win you a match, but it dominates you a match. logica and i discussed 'WHO DOMINATED THE MATCH.'
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 8:59pm On Oct 26, 2013
logica: Barcelona had 8 shots on target, to Real Madrid's 7. At some point in the game, they even had 4 to Barca's 3. Goalkeepers also had about the same number of saves. And you speak of possession. There is a reason Barca sometimes losses even with much greater possession; and that's where tactics come into play. The opposing coach can show his tactical prowess by ensuring that the statistics that matter more (like shots at goal) are close.
some teams build up play and when they get a chance at goal, they take the shots. other teams just get the ball and keep on shooting and shooting even without any build up play. believe you me the latter could still have more shots on target. also some teams control the game and might have say 5 shots on target while some may get say 8 corners and head towards goal. believe you me the latter would have more shots on target. what am i saying- it is even better to judge based on ball possession than shots on target.

logica: Apparently not. A fan watched on your side; a football scholar watched on my side. Go and check the stats of the game; and of course remove the ball possession. Then tell me it was not a balanced game. If with all that ball possession yet all other stats are similar, then you should learn to better analyze a football match.
brother listen. the balance or otherwise of a game is firstly, ball possession, then others follow. dont be fooled, there is no team that doesnt wish to possess the ball. most teams when they cant get the ball off the opponent fall back and then call it a pattern. big lie. you run and run and run, sweat and sweat, put in tackles and get yellows sometimes still you cant win the ball and then you lie and call it a pattern! lol. real wanted the ball as much as barca but just couldnt get it. i will NOT remove the ball possession.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 8:25pm On Oct 26, 2013
logica: Thank you o. I was wondering why Iniesta and Pique were being praised. That cross you mentioned; did you see where both Pique and Mascherano were? Jezuz! Zero defensive positional acumen. And yeah, Iniesta's passing was just off. There were so many through passes he couldn't make that would have let Alves or Neymar loose. And yes, he was the culprit in that chance Ronaldo had which Valdes parried over the bar.

It was a balanced game and we were lucky. I take the win anyway. But it could have gone either way.
balanced game? i dont think we watched the same match.

philfearon: Iniesta and Pique tried very well anyway, but still yet, they still did what i was afraid of...Iniesta lost two great posessions in danger areas, and had it been Madrid were clinical enuf,it could have conceded dose two...
Pique was much better, but look at how he stood and even dodged himself in dat Ronaldo cross..He gave Bale Leverage, and had it been he maintained his position without goin forward{knowin he has no speed},Jese wouldnt have scored..He would have contained him!
guy cut them guys some friggin slack! if i were to name the errors of kompany, terry, ferdinand, hummels, pepe, ramos, koscieny, skirtel, for you now ehn, you will just faint. clap for iniesta and pique, just eat the words you said yesterday.
I knew bale wouldn't leave up to the hype

I always believed that madrid wasted money buying bale and letting the best midfielder in the world, Ozil leave...

And to think Bale is the most expensive player in the world is really mind bugling.

Real Madrid have once again made one of the biggest mistake in football history...

Congrats to Barcelona, they were the better team
am i dreaming? pls wake me up!

Krasid: Barca's last two games ended in a draw, while madrid won their last two games. So, how did you come up with that conclusion?
let me help him. the referee gave madrid their 2 last wins. in madrid's last 2 games, bale dived to give madrid a 90th minute penalty against malaga and in the game against juventus roanldo dived to get chelini sent off after the ref had given madrid a controversial penalty. but barca played 2 difficult away games at pamplona and milan and got draws. barca have fared better.

sapien: Valdes

Puyol - Pique - Mascherano - Adriano.

Busquets

Xavi - Fabregas

Alves- Messi- Neymar

This is my preferred formation for tomorrow. Carles Puyol should be drafted to the right back to cover sluggish Pique's back. Since Alves would always stray forward, he should be deployed in the right side of attack.

Pep Guardiola deployed Puyol at right back and Alves at right side of attack against Pellegrini's Madrid in 2009/10 season second leg match at the Bernabeu to curb the efficiency of C.Penaldo. It worked perfectly and Barca triumphed at the capital.

Meanwhile, Andres Iniesta should be dropped to the bench; he has been off-colour of late.
i like your formation, only that iniesta should replace fabregas.

dmcdad: Let's be sincere please... Do you know that Piqué hardly clears a ball from set piece? Funny enough, he manages to head home against our opponents sometimes buh finds it hard to clear set pieces when we concede them. Well, the team in general needs to work more on that. We are becoming more and more vulnerable by the day.

Anywayz, I am just hopeful. I believe we can do it. Its 5pm tomorrow and our boiz will not let us down...
lol. and how are they supposed to work on that when they are all 5ft tall?

Johnpaul88: I'm certain that defending corners will make or mar our game on saturday and Madrid with all there tall players will stop at nothing to exploit that.
The other day in San Siro, Milan got two corners and Mexes almost found the net with the other one they chose not to play short. It's really very appalling to see us so weak in that respect and yet showing little or no sign of improving!
I die every time we concede corners and who knows how many time i 'll die on saturday. My only wish is that i continue to wake to see who heads over the bar or narrowly off target. I'm certain the player will not be wearing red & blue cos they won't be any where near the ball!
go back and watch all el classicos. 90% of real's goals have been from set pieces. be rest assured of it, they are going to torment us on set pieces-corners and free kicks. our players are all very short, and then some are happy pique is out.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 9:46pm On Oct 24, 2013
everyone keeps talking ronaldo, bale, de maria and co. but i tell you, pepe, ramos, abeloa, and marceloa get 50% of the job done. even having an experienced defence plays a psychological effect on the opposing attack. God forbid bad thing.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 9:42pm On Oct 24, 2013
if we play bartra and mascherano in defence, we are going to get slaughtered on saturday.

philfearon: You are still leaving in past glory bro...Wake up to the reality, and know that that Classico is not for out-of-form Pique, and know that as it stands now,MARC BARTRA IS OUR BEST DEFENDER,going by the last four games we played......If Madrid are using a young Varane,i dont see Why Bartra shouldnt be used by Martino...Believe me you,Bartra was rested against AC MILAN because of The El Classico, and he Must play!!
so because varane is young and bartra is young, they are equally capable? well fyi messi is young and kalu uche is young as well! bartra might only play against madrid because pique is injured not because he was rested. if bartra is our best defender we are doooooomed. a bayern munich will give us another spanking, maybe 10-0 this time.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 8:49pm On Oct 24, 2013
just like honeric said, let's be very careful what we wish for! during the transfer window, everyone was buying and we still refused to buy a natural defender, o i forgot we made a 'fresh signing'- a 35 yr old carlos puyol. now guys are happy pique is injured! so who plays on saturday against madrid? bartra and mascherano? bartra and puyol? or puyol and mascherano? well, i wanted pique and mascherano but we can manage puyol and mascherano. pls nobody should mention bartra here again, not for el classico pls.

philfearon: I dont believe that Madrid is a more complete team than Barca bro..This is a fallacy! How complete is Madrid?
*This is a team with upto 4 new players infused into the team who are yet to undastand themselves!
*This is a team that has no pattern of football..
*This is a team whose never won any team in laliga comprehensively without some ref ish!
How is Madrid a much complete team than Barca?
On paper, with recent form, that game is as good as won..but then, cuz its an El Classico, the El Classico importance must be attached to it,to get big revenue!!
Barca are much more complete than Madrid bro, even if u start doing Player per player head to head stats!
N:B- Am not saying this as a barca fan,am saying it as it is!!
wow wow mr phil, i love your passion honestly. we need alot more like you on this thread. keep it up bro.

dmcdad: Its true he goes down easily sometimes, buh would you blame it on him? That dude is excessively fouled and you can't blame him when he sometimes goes down so easily. Imagine the south Korean game alone, he was fouled a total of 30 times. Abeg which other player dey receive much tackles like Ney? Or he should always stay up for him to get kicked more than he could bear? Haba! If him get injury na we go still suffer am oooooo. The guy is just too tricky and the best way to stop him in most cases is for you to foul him. And remember, the more tackles you attract, the higher your chances of having injury.
it makes a lot of sense. More often than not you have to get out of the way when you see a tackle coming in. And to get out of the way you have to fall or even dive, that way you avoid injuries. Some people do not understand that football aint wrestling or kick boxing. They say it's a contact sport yes of course , but trust me football will better if it were possible to have zero contact.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by ddippset(m): 8:10pm On Oct 21, 2013
AjanleKoko: Personally I feel Neymar goes down too easily, for someone who played in the Brazilian league.
Hence the term 'foul magnet'.
I remember in the confedrations cup when he fell like he was shot with a double barrel.

philfearon: Bro,i think you are wrong here..
Whether or not we win against AC Milan or Madrid doesnt relay much as per the Yardstick you are talking about...Every Match is a test..
For example,Barca cruised to a 7-0 win over Levante, but it was the same Levante that nearly won Madrid save for their last minute let-up...
Barca have played Sevilla,Valencia,Athletico Madrid,Celtic,Ajax; and none of this teams is a pushover{forget the fact that Barca won...at least u knw wot happened in that Sevilla and Valencia game}...
Saying that "If Tata wins those two matches, you will know he has succeeded",is a wrong statement to make, because both games CAN NEVER DETERMINE the outcome of both the league and Champions league...
Mourinho won us last season, but he didnt win the league..We won the league because we played well and won the rest of the 18teams in La liga, which Madrid didnt....
AC Milan is not of even a test, because they are weak and reeking in 8th Position in their league! How is that a test?
As far as am concerned, both games are just like any other game, and the winner doesnt determine who wins the league/Champions league, rather,JUST THREE POINTS OR A POINT,and the league moves on........
some good points but you must understand that this is a new madrid. Like it or not they are a more complete team than barca. This time last season we were up to 8 points clear already. Over the last 5 years we used to win la liga not because we beat the smaller teams but because we thrashed madrid for fun, both home and away. We can still loase to madrid and win la liga by chance but to guarantee la liga success we have to get 6 points off them, playing the tiki taka mcleo spoke of. We have to beat milan to avoid a repeat of last season. Needing to overturn a 2-0 first leg defeat, it should have been 1-1 when the black milan striker forgotten his name missed a one on one with valdez. Can't forget that miss cus I almost caught a heart attack. We went on to win 4-0. We have to beat milan no loss no draw. Good you said they are 8th, we have to get the three points. Last season ending we couldn't compete with bayern and madrid. Guys we used to have for breakfast 4 years ago. This is why this week's games are the very true test of our strength this season.
