naijapips02: I am really pissed as i am writing this.
MTN has proven to be the best and most reliable Telco in Nigeria.
In terms of signal strength, it is indisputable that they are number one. Their coverage is next to none.
Their services, even though it's not uhuru yet, is miles ahead of the others. No Telco in Nigeria can manage the amount of customers they have and still be this efficient.
Etisalat are just criminals. some months ago, i subscribed to a daily internet bundle, and Etisalat automatically opted me into their mumu auto-renewal plan. I called the customer care and complained, they promised they've cancelled it, but each time i recharged, they still took my N100. I had to dump the sim-card somewhere.
The grouse about MTN failing to ensure proper registration of their customers is just plain witch-hunt. I had like 4 MTN lines, all duly registered. Yet MTN blocked 3 of them and left me with my main line. My Airtel and Etisalat, even though i never registered them in person, were never blocked. MTN was the most effective Telco in this sim registration thing. They had to force people to come out and register. No telco did that.
Besides, MTN packages are the best. They have the fastest internet2User speed.
And they are also very lenient. Do you think they do not know you are using SS? Or you think they can't block you?
With the MTN Truetalk, they give you 200% bonus on every recharge and still charge you at normal rate (as low as even 8k on zone) Glo bumba gives you 200% and charge you 50k/s . Don't even go to Etisalat. Once you migrate out of any plan, your 200% bonus is gone and their call rates are so freeging expensive.
They still remain the only Telco that you can rollover the free data they dash you.
The Nigerian Government should really look into this fine. Because, evidently, we are still the ones that you would be affected. The company is definitely going to downsize to save cost. And who would be those to be sacked? our brothers and sisters.
I am not in any way advertising. Dem no sabi me.
All i am saying is that what's fair is fair. MTN should be pardoned. Omg,see another mtn contract staff,if you had committed same offense in south Africa, will they pardon you? But just imagine if its your family member that was kidnapped and no details available for that number the kidnappers used.mind you if dangote commits same offense in one of the country's he has his business,he will suffer same.world round company's recall vehicles, computers, engine parts etc,you are here covering up for mtn.SHAME ON YOU.ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT MADE OIL COMPANIES IN THE NIGER DELTA NOT TO CARE ABOUT OIL SPILLAGE |

Tonway: 10/11/2015 Welcome to friends of Nigeria @ http://friendsofnija..com.ng/?m=1
1. You send a message, and they billed and deducted your money, only for them to come back later and said, “Message sending fail” without refunding you.
2. You make a certain seconds or minutes of call which they were supposed to bill you accordingly as the rate suggest, only for them to bill you more.
3. They send a pop up they would say “Enter for the chance to win blab la bla bla (happy day promo or whatever) (for free), only for them to turn round and keep deducting a hundred, two or more as long as you have money in your phone daily.
4. They send you an sms informing you of a (free) ring back tone, only for them to turn around and start deducting N50 monthly from your airtime. 5. They send a cheap question to you to answer and win something, only to answer the question endlessly without winning anything and your money deducted at every question you answered.
6. ‘Lie lie’ ‘Who want to be a millionaire’ game show, which you might play endlessly before even coming on their useless hot seat, or never coming for eternity.
7. You recharge your phone and went to sleep, only to wake up the next day and want to make a call and you are told that “you do not have the sufficient balance to make that call”
8. You tried calling a customer service and you could end up remaining on line till your battery runs out, without getting through to a customer service agent to complain.
9. You send sms and you are billed, and the message did not reach the party you wanted to send message to.
10. That MTN, like Etisalat, Airtell and Glo do not have one building in Nigeria, but are only renting. Only one, and I might be helping them to pay.
We are only aware of these discrepancies and unwholesome business practices going on because we know, or at least we’d attained some level of education to know. What about Iya sukura at Oyingbo, Mama Bili in Sabon gari, Mama Chukwudi in Ariaria market, Mr. Opue, and many more illiterates (phone illiterates) and semi illiterates that don’t know? Take one of these old people’s phones and see all manners of deductions they experience and have to leave with on daily bases all in the name of owing a phone. And they don’t even know, even if they know they don’t know what to do about it. #MTNMUSTSTOPTHESTEALING. #GODBLESSNIGERIA very good,we need people like you op to help educate those hungry nigerians who want mtn to dash dem free N100 credit or 5mb for saying that d fine is too much or ncc is not fair etc... Orikinla: Majority of MTN subscribers are also subscribers of Glo, Airtel and Etisalat. So, if MTN goes, life goes on in Nigeria. The other GSM networks can absorb their staff. The population of GSM users in Nigeria is not up to 80 million, because the subscribers are the same people using MTN, Glo, Etisalat and Airtel. MTN includes me among their subscribers and Glo does the same. So, when you count the numbers of users of GSM phones, you cannot count me twice. I can even bet that 90% of subscribers of MTN are the same subscribers of Glo, Airtel and Etisalat. WOW,ur very intelligent,God bless you for this post. Tonway: Welcome to friends of Nigeria @ http://friendsofnija..com.ng/?m=1
The other day, I caught a reply on a thread on Nairaland, the Nigerian online forum where a member threw a jab below the belt at MTN, following the fine that was slammed on the tele-communication giant for inappropriate business practices. “MTN, how market” the online forum member demanded, sarcastically to his peril. While the unsuspecting public are here feeling that MTN, a South African company, whom no Nigerian citizen or a Nigerian business can try a quarter of the criminal and dubious activities she perpetrate here in Nigeria deserve the penalty, the telecommunication giant have concluded plans to continue stealing, even more from unsuspecting subscribers to pay the fine without feeling the pain or loss a thing. The other day I made a 15 seconds call on my trutalk plan, which they said is supposed to be 11kobo per second, and I was deducted a whopping N22. Can you believe that? There is also the case of the sms of free offer for a ring tone, and criminally laden promos, which either you accede to it or not, they would start billing you indiscriminately. The other day one of the South African companies’ customer representatives called me from their GoTV company to enquire if I am enjoying the service they’re rendering, and I was categorical in telling the dude to go to hell with their criminal company. So sorry I wasn’t that nasty to the fellow, whom I discovered are only helpless and only surviving, but I was quick to point out to the guy that those guys can get away with every atrocities against the Nigerian unsuspecting customers because of the collaborations of most of our people, who encouraged them that they can get away with whatever they do. #GODBLESSSNIGERIA.
For more visit http://friendsofnija..com.ng/?m=1 u see, even after ds nonsense mtn is doing, some nigerians are still loyal and FAITHFUL as if mtn is Jesus Christ or Mohammed, allowing the thieving network to use them, with the so much poverty in the land this same gullible nigerians are the reason top mtn staff are driving suv's and own massive property and the south african economy booming.i saw a reply by one southafrican on the net,the guy was braging about mtn getting that money back within one month after payment.guy tnx for ds info. our people dey vex me nobi small o |

Just my opinion.
I feel very sad about the issue, and more sad is the way people are talking. I read through the comments of the south african law maker worries and its just sad.
Yes I support Mtn being fined if the broke the law but the fine is too much! It no longer a thing of they broke the law, its now a thing of because it is a south african company, and I see people saying Dstv is next. My question is, would giving them heavy fines make them a better company than they are now? Or would it make them provide better service? Let's be reasonable. If it was Glo it happened too, would you put all the so much effort you are putting now to make sure they pay? No. because its a nigerian company. and someone said "south african the home of xenophobia" well, xenophobia means the fear of foreigners. If you ask me, this is the same reason we want mtn to pay these fines! The same reason we want dstv to leave. Xenophobia is the f'in reason for "ghana must go" xenophobia started the civil(biafra) war cos of the fear of igbos in the north who were murdered before igbos decided to cut out of the country, then the war began! So my friend we are not "holy" we need to stop all these! If we claim these south african companies don't offer good services, we should make them to do so not ask them to pay fines. Why did NCC , not say MTN should offer free calls to Nigerians for a day instead? Too me it sounds like "eh en this foreign people don enter our trap today, we go show them pepper" and this is called "wickedness". then excuses everywhere of why they must pay the fine on one of those many excuses is they make so much money of nigerians, I don't get, is the services they offer suppose to be free? You claim they make so much off nigerians? Well the last time I check they have the cheapest calls! And you guys don't consider how much they spend in running a network in a country like Nigeria where there is no light! So every single mast (which there are thousands in this country as they cover the widest range) is powered by diesel generator 24/7. Now take a second and calculate how much they spend.
If they did not care about their customers, it would not be a big deal to cut them off. Etisalat rates are not cheaper, airtel network service is poor, Glo is not better than MTN in anyway! They do not deserve to be treated the way they are. It is unfair!
If they must be fined, the fine is too much! NCC should reduce it and stop treating them that way simply because its a south african company because it is not because they broke the rule at all.
One more thing, if they pay the money, where does it go too? Into NCC leaders pocket?
Just my opinion. Please read https://www.nairaland.com/2721213/mtn-must-respect-laws-host It's like some Nigerias like to beg for money by leaking with their tongues.for Gods sake mtn violated an order and was fined.simple.even their vp knows this |

Psychologist-cum-businessman Adejoro Olumofin is famous on the social media for tackling various relationship/marital issues via his Instagram timeline "joroolumofin". In one of the most shocking emails he received from a lady, Olumofin says "I was speechless when I got this.. Does this really happen?" Below is the email as sent by the lady to Olumofin: Hello DoktorMofi, Please I want to know if this is normal or any woman has experienced it before? My boyfriend has been demanding the most unbelievable thing from me these past months. He wants to be licking my private area when am on my period. I first thought he was joking then he got angry and said am judging him, that his ex allowed him to do it. Because I love him, I allowed him a few times, but I used pillow to cover my face because I was shy and didn't want to see the blood. I know he won't see this because he is an older guy and not an online person, but I am now scared because he counts my cycle every month and am thinking it's spiritual. Help me ask your Instagram people if it's normal. What should I do? He is very nice to me though and gentlemanly.
This bizarre revelation has generated hundreds of comments on Olumofin's Instagram timeline:
preyefreeman: Girl it is abnormal, totally doesn't sound right. I suggest you talk to a pastor and pray well because that might lead you to the grave. May God guide and protect you iJN!!! Amen
glitzabelle: I like that this lady knows it's spiritual. Honey, he's def using it for something. No sane guy will EVER do that. Some men won't even do cunninglingus. Am so disgusted by this. Pls pray and fast consistently. Run far away from that man. He's up to no good

I received an sms from MTN to Auto-renew my BBC Subscriptionwhich will expire on Wednesday. I recharged 1,500 on Wednesday and sent BBC to 21600 for 1k package. They replied that my subscription is still on. I only made few calls which is not up to 200 from Wednesday till yesterday.
MTN debited me over 1k and yet they didn't credit my subscription package.
I call customer service at midnight to speak with them, i explained the issue to the lady who dropped my call without any reply.
I called again a guy picked and told me their network is down that he will rectify it after i told him i will port to another network.
This morning i got an sms that my subscription has expired yet airtime was not credited back to me.
I made a decision to port once i go to their office to explain again.

This is what I just received now. I called the customer care and they said that all those on MTN Ipulse are to enjoy this services for 4 Months and then they the charge of 50 per week would commence. I have been using this line for over one year now. I never migrated to any other package.
The scam of MTN is becoming unbearable.
I just sent PORT to 3232 to port to glo. I heard that I have to fill a form and present my ID card to glo office to complete the porting process. I am going to do that to be free from MTN for life.
Earlier, I received a message from MTN that I am charged N0 for musicplus and was given 150mb and that it would be renewed in 7 days time at N300. I have tried all the unsubscription codes I know to no avail.
I have called their customer care numbers and it seems they blacklisted my number from getting any attention as they connect me to adverts after telling me "you have to wait for about 2 minuit" several time only to wait for minutes without any response from them.
