Politics / Re: Malami: Naira Redesign Has Reduced Kidnapping, Corruption by Ddokie: 1:35pm On Feb 11, 2023
It has actually

The truth is that the long term benefits of this naira redesign and cashless policy are enormous. It will reduce kidnapping, corruption, robbery and the volatility of exchange rates. Above all, it will significantly reduce vote buying not just in 2023 but going forward. Meaning that we stand a better chance of having good leaders.

If you are close to politicians, you would have noticed that it is already hitting them very very hard. The idea that the politicians will always be able to lay their hands on as much new notes as they want is a fallacy. Dem no get cash again. And it will get worse for them in as the election approaches.

However, I blame Meffy for the hardship the common man is facing. They should have printed loads of fifty naira notes and filled bank vaults with them. That would have greatly eased the cash crunch, without creating an opening for corrupt politicians to exercise their enterprise due to the quantity of 50s they would require for execution.

Be that as it may, if the Supreme Court is unable to stop the implementation (I earnestly pray so), Nigerians should hang in there for the next 3 weeks to a month when the elections must have been over, then cash would be more available.

I am sure it will all end in praise.

incandescentena:

WTF

There's more re-designed notes hidden in the forest and the politicians hide out than in the hands of the patriotic citizens

The politicians don't have it. Believe me if they did, they won't be running around the whole place.

As per the bandits, they may have sources in the bank who changed some notes for them. But that's where it ends. The setback they would have is the inability of victims to source the raw cash they need for ransome. With time, kidnapping wouldn't be as lucrative as it was, and many of those guys will start looking for alternative sources of livelihood.

The yorubas hardly, insults or bellitle northerners unless when provoked. In the past and in the present.
But the igbos are only pretending to be friends with us northerners now that they want to win election.
When they see we are not buying, they result to instigating our Christian brothers against us.

The real enemies are the ones instigating our people against us using religion and tribalism.

Everyday you here words like yoruba Muslim, middle belt Christian's.
You hardly see people from other regions call Osu igbo even though we all know how they kicked their own brothers with same religion out of their land.
The problems between yorubas and northerners is a very normal problem that the elders, from both regions plays positive role in making sure it don't escalate.
But you see those people that uses slide tackle to wake their parent, they tend to see us as animals in a zoo.
Maybe the poster should have a rethink and know where to dash his hopes.

OK some Akpu brains are pained by the obvious fact that I'm a northernern and am supporting Asiwaju. I know it's a painful thing and you don't need to go through my 8years old profile to confirm your assumption.
So no need worrying yourself. Just don't believe me so you won't Hug transformer.
UGM are already reducing your population drastically and your landmass is way less than kaduna state to Bury your dead. Please be gradual when choking yourself.

Who told you igbos want to be friends with you? PO already owns the votes of Northern christians who have always been on the same page with the better South since 1999.

As for you northern Muslim, you can shove your friendship up your ass na u sabi.

Since you have been leading, is your life any better than the average igbo person?

If you guys like, don't stop playing tribal/religious politics. Once the South gets their act together as tinubu leaves the political scene, with the alliance with the Christian North, you guys will be a political minority in Nigeria.

People are trying to build a new Nigeria and you are stuck with a useless archaic mindset.

Delphi:
No be only battle line. Let them also draw war line too. Nonsense!. Emefiele has my thumbs up. The Senate and the House of Reps do not care with goodwill. It is because of their primordial intent to engage in vote buying and election bribery that they are now crying more than the bereaved. Other pressing needs that really affect the citizenry are left in the cooler while old money usage has taken the center stage because of selfishness and need to commit financial crime. Why is this Naira issue the problem of the senate (and house of reps) while the more critical fuel crises that really affect the common man is never their headache. It shows that something is amiss and your guess is as good as mine.

You dey mind the useless lawmakers

Politics / Re: New Naira Notes: Senate Asks CBN To Extend January 31 Deadline; Emefiele Refuses by Ddokie: 1:57pm On Jan 24, 2023
If meffy will do one good thing, it should be to ensure that the deadline remains. Even if he is to extend it, it shouldn't be more than a 2 week extension I.e. Feb 14 there about.

Under no circumstance should the present naira notes be available during the General elections.

If anyone thinks the senate is asking for an extension because they love Nigerians, that person must be joking. Their one and only reason for whining is because it will 'cut their ticket' which is vote buying.

Every well meaning Nigerian should support meffy. Take your old naira notes to the bank and lodge it in.

It would be tough to transact initially, but we will adjust in a month or two. Meanwhile vote buying would reduce significantly, which will ensure that BAT and his band of urchins would have been dealt a heavy blow on election day, and sent to the rubbish bin of infamous history.

invinzible1:

Lol you think politicians can not have access to new notes. Infact they have access it more than the citizens as of today.

Omo, you have no idea how much cash these guys have warehoused.

Yes, they will have access to the new notes but it will be nothing compared to the stash of old notes they have at the moment.

Do you know governors are paying contractors in cash as we speak?

BluntTheApostle:

These is not about vote buyers alone. This is about many unbanked Nigerians as well.

As at this moment, the January 31 deadline is not realistic. Many misinformed unbanked Nigerians would be thrown into serious hardship.

Let them go and open bank accounts and lodge the monies in. simplicita.

Why are they unbanked in the first place? Make dem dey play, there money will rot in their hands. I have no pity for those ones.

The ones I sympathise with are those whose transactions would be hampered as a result of the change. I too will be affected because my business is completely cash based. But the benefit ( significantly reducing vote buying) outweighs any difficulties that will arise.

Let BAT and his urchins carry rice and ororo to polling stations on election day.

"Daddy You'll Win," Goosebumps as Nursing Mother Stops Peter Obi's Convoy, Make Declarations Amid Tears
On Saturday, January 21, the campaign train of the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi hit the southern part of Kaduna state.
During the tour of the state, Obi met with several Nigerians from all walks of life in his campaign to become Nigeria's next president.
The former Anambra state governor in a tweet personally signed by him said it was an awesome unprecedented gathering as he is delighted to be in the state.
Among those Obi met in Kaduna was a nursing mother who cried her heart out while delaying the convoy of the former governor of Anambra state.

Speaking amid tears, the nursing mother who had her baby with her kept on saying:

"Daddy you'll win."
Amid all of this members of Obi's campaign team asked her for her number while they advised her to take the baby out of the teeming crowd to avoid getting injured.
His words:

"I am delighted to be here, in the friendly, welcoming town of Kafanchan. My sincere gratitude to all of you for coming out to interface with me. What a great town hall meeting."

Soludo should just keep his mouth shut so that he doesn't keep sounding stupid and unstable.

Of what value is all this to him? Chris Ngige who PO removed from office and who is a serving minister under this APC regime has been mute on his state of mind and only talks about his 1 vote. Does soludo think he is stupid?

Even if Soludo wants to be president after Atiku, does he not know that his continous interference on POs chances is taking away the goodwill he has both home and abroad? Or does he think that the Yorubas or hausas will trust a man who won't even be gracious to his kinsman?

Charles Soludo shut up your mouth. You are sounding like a broken record. If PO will lose let him lose. He won't be tge first person to lose an election and he won't be the last.
