Health / Re: Court Orders NAFDAC To Pay N2million For Approving Fanta, Sprite by dearestsewa(f): 8:44pm On Jul 24, 2017
I dont think it's healthy to take any medication with carbonated drinks anyway.
Why not order NAFDAC to sensitize the public in that direction, I.e., drug use and abuse instead of the fine?

I'm not really sure I understand that part of 'staying the execution of the judgement'.

Etisalat lasts and works well for me. Before now, I had tried Airtel the network was very unstable so of course, I still have a lot of data balance by month end. Then I tried MTN, hmmm before I blink all my data is exhausted. I tried Smile too but I couldn't smile for so long. Then, I found Etisalat and started browsing proper without fear of data exhaustion.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I got two Job Offers, which should I choose? I'm Confused..... Advice Please!!!! by dearestsewa(f): 9:16pm On Jan 01, 2016
areyemi:
First and foremost, I want to thank seun for this platform.

I finished my NYSC July 2nd last year and ever since then i've been on a lookout.

Just early this week I got two job offers one with a startup company offering to pay 55K and another with a bank as an HR personnel and i'm been offer roughly 75k, but i'm confused on which of this two offers to go for.

Owing to the news of hire and fire in the banking industry, i'm really skeptical on resuming work on Monday, 4th of january.

Please, I need your advise. Thanks and God bless.

Lalasticlala...

Take up the offer in a company.
Apart from the hire and fire story;
1. I'm not sure 75k bank job is full-time and Bank contracts are often nightmares. It's a matter of monkey dey work baboon dey chop, plus the full-time colleagues often feel a right to rubbish you.
2. A company job gives you the opportunity to learn how a business runs. If you're patient, you'll be able to observe how organizations work and the knowledge will help you when you want to start your own multinational.
3. Working in a company usually afford you more time to plan your life and be with your family and even conveniently further your studies. In a bank, nobody gives a hoot about work-life balance. Well, in most banks (95%).
4. You're more likely to rise and get promotions faster in a company. Most bankers are stuck in the same level for years. Except they get opportunities to change from bank to bank.
If you ask me, the difference of 20k is not enough to go into banking in Naija. Money is not everything but even if it is 20k is not worth it.

It's not just rich people that get loans. Individuals with average income do too.
But i think banks need to learn strategies for loan requirements. E.g FCMB gave out many loans to people last year to attract customers, even customers without salary account with them. In that case, how can they get their money? You will now see such customers deliberately issuing dud cheques to the bank.
Hmmn, Nigeria really has many issues.

Politics / Which Government Regime Will Solve Nigeria's Power Problem? by dearestsewa(f): 8:13pm On May 22, 2015
It is no longer news that for well over a decade now, Power has been the major problem of Nigeria.

During Obasanjo's regime, he tried but as tough a leader as he was he couldn't conquer the plague of darkness.

During Yaradua's regime, he couldn't do it because he didn't have time, unfortunately.

During Jonathan's regime, he tried too but I had thought that would have been no. 1 or even the only issue he'll address but he failed. Electricity rates even went up in his time yet no show.

Buhari is on his way in now but even his 9-point agenda has no mention of Power:
*Protection of lives and property.*Pursuing economic policies for shared prosperity and immediate attention on youth employment.
*Quality education for development, modernity and social mobility.*Agricultural productivity for taking millions out of poverty and ensuring food security.
*Reviving industries to generate employment and “make things” not just to remain hawkers of other peoples’ goods.
*Developing solid minerals exploitation which will substantially attract employment and revenue for government.
*Restoring honour and integrity to public service by keeping the best and attracting the best.
*Tackling corruption which has become blatant and widespread. The rest of the world looks at Nigeria as the home of corruption. Nigeria is a country where stealing is not corruption.
*Respecting the constitutional separation of powers among the executive, legislature and judiciary and respecting the rights of citizens.

Help! When will this darkness stop?
I'm tired of generator noises all over the neighborhood everyday and night o.
Who will help?

Business / Re: Which Bank Is The Most Honest Bank In Nigeria? by dearestsewa(f): 7:55pm On May 13, 2015
Good thread.
I think this thread will thrive most if we give our honest opinions on HONEST BANKS.
What consumers don't know is that most banks operate in line with CBN policies. Some of those charges are given by CBN. So, they're not hidden charges.
Now, in giving our honest opinions, please let's state cases and instances that formed these opinions.
Remember, some people are not here to read for fun.

Answer this question: Did he ever open up to you? He did and you turned him down right?

Yes, he did. We discussed it. But, we were both in new relationships. He wanted us to leave our relationship but I thought it is wickedness to snatch another person's partner to gratify our own lust. I believe I'm right but he despised me for rejecting him again.
Yet, I still considered him a great friend.
Celebrities / Re: Seun Kuti: “jonathan Knelt For Prayer• David Cameron Stood • Is Adeboye Racist?” by dearestsewa(f): 1:44pm On Apr 19, 2015
We must also realize that our culture and upbringing often affect our view of God.
One man who sees kneeling before an elder as respect will also kneel before God's altar as honour.
Another man who sees folding his hands behind him or bowing his head or standing in silence as a respect in his culture will do the same to honour God.
A man may see the need to close his eyes during to avoid distractions while another may not.
You cannot be a judge on another man's servant. Romans 14

What's the use of this topic? Was it Adeboye that told Jonathan to kneel and Cameron to stand? Each man approached God as he feels led.

quite succinct but I was told to quit a while ago undecided undecided undecided which I have done.

If u are referring to the 'wish each other the best' I said, let's get it clear that the lady u r pursuing is not available anymore. there's no case of 'QUIT' in that.
But, if it had been that u were both in a relationship and are having usual issues that are not life threatening I would have advised that you give it time.
Pls let's avoid the usual sickening nairaland banters and apply wisdom.

You disagree, then why not give your own opinion or criticise constructively? ?
what do you even call bad advice?? Those words you call bad may be what will help the person wearing the shoe... It's not up to you to decide which is good or bad, the person asking for advice knows just which to choose, one which suits him/her...

Again, you can always drop your opinion on each case sir...

Don't take it personal. I get what chisco82 may be trying to say but advice carries an "at owner's risk" tag. This risk is because it's only the foot in the shoe that knows where it pinches. No one online can fully understand all the sides to the relationship problem.

More so, let's not be too quick to offer a 'QUIT' advice. Where physical and emotional abuse is not present, most relationships may just need time for growth and understanding.

yeah right. we were going to start, but her use of words turned me off. Later she started calling me once a while to check on me. I didn't know it was green light sign cos I was turned off already. Let's just say both of us didn't handle the situation with care and it escalated into something this bad. She can't deny that she didn't like what she when I went home lol and same for me. So, you see. Just two careless adults cheesy. I gave her an option. If nothing happens between her and current guy, she can always check on me. Even though she would feign as though it doesn't matter now to her, I am sure she will consider if the need arises.

I'm not so sure about that "she can always check on u". What if it makes her unable to settle with the current guy because she thinks she has an option? And you, what if you happily moved on? I believe it's just safe to wish each other the best.
