iwatch:
but mine is different. She gave me chance, withdrew and she gave another person a chance. So there are two different scenes here.

Her question to me last time was why did I raise it and destroyed it?

So you see?
I see. Don't feel so bad. You didn't feel anything at that time and, if not that she's now with someone else you'll probably still not see her worth.

I had a similar experience. I liked him, I considered him as the best of my best friends but I never felt the 'me and you' part even though I knew how he felt. Later, he found someone else but I realized that he now despised me in a way and cut me off completely. But, I don't regret it anymore. I still found someone who dots over me.

Hmmn! Very possible. And sometimes, the person is not deliberately trying to spite you. It's not what you have or don't have, she just doesn't see you as a soulmate. Things just happen like that sometimes and you can't explain. Mystery!

babyosisi:
Iwatch, there was a boy that wrote me a love letter in secondary school
He pursued me all through secondary school and the university with these romantic poems
I told him when I was getting married and he wrote me his final love letter and also in it wishing me well with my beau,I actually showed it to my husband, then fiancé and he also acknowledged the young man loved me very much and complimented his writing skills grin
He found me on FB years later and on my birthday which I didn't put on FB,he was the first to send me a birthday wish
After all these many years, this man still knew and remembered my birthday
The poem he wrote on my wall and the words he used to describe me made me uneasy I had to delete it
My friends say he loved me truly but sadly i never felt the same about him,I just liked him.
Very nice guy though

So it's possible to love someone madly and not have the other person return the love
Maybe this is your situation
It will get better as you grow older

After their huge salary @https://www.nairaland.com/2042218/special-report-salary-nigerian-senators and Sanusi's accusation that they spend 1/3 of Nigeria's wealth, I didn't expect those legislators to still have the gut to pass this kind of bill.
Why not bills like "more pay for corpses (like #50k)", increased minimum wage, tax rebate for those who lose their jobs, monthly stipend for jobless graduates, free education to any level for indigents and orphans, compulsory declaration of assets for political office holders etc
No wonder, many of them will prefer the legislature to executive positions. They don't even have limit to the number of terms they can spend.
Nigeria, how far? How did we get here?

Life Pension for Lawmakers - Labour Hails Jonathan Refusal

By Sylvester Enoghase

Lagos — Organised Labour under the platform of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for refusing to sign a Constitution Amendment designed by the National Assembly to grant certain categories of legislators' pension for life. The Union regretted that in spite of popular opposition to whopping salaries and allowances approved by the lawmakers for themselves, they were still bent on granting their Principal Officers generous pension for life, a scenario that is going to be a heavy burden on the treasury. In a press statement issued in Lagos yesterday and signed by its National President, Comrade. The association's National President, Comrade Boboi Bala Kaigama, who made the declarations to newsmen in Lagos on Wednesday equally urged the President-elect, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, to distance himself from the Constitutional Amendments if he mounts the saddle unless those self-serving provisions by the lawmakers were deleted. He said; "It is indeed worrisome that the National Assembly could approve pension for life for the Senate President, Deputy Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and his Deputy, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of each of the 36 State Houses of Assembly for serving 4 and 8 years on the average"."You can imagine the humongous sums of money that would be siphoned monthly through this ill-advised pension for life for the Principal Officers of the legislatures in Abuja and the 36 States of the Federation," he added
According to the Kaigama, who doubles as the President of Trade Union Congress (TUC), under the current pension law, Public Servants who serve the country for 35 years or attain the age of 60 years are retired without being paid any gratuity while the pension that is paid is contributed by both the workers and employers."On retirement, these Public Service employees are paid 50% of their entitlements while the other half is spread over the years", he said."Yet, Nigerian politicians who serve the nation for four or eight years on the average want to pay themselves pension for life," the Union regretted describing the plan as fraudulent", he added.
The labour leader pointed out that in rejecting the proposal for life pension for the Principal Officers of the legislatures, the Presidency lamented that the National Assembly defied constitutional procedures and resorted to the use of voice votes to pass such a fundamental Constitutional Amendment and added that it (the Presidency) would not be party to such illegality. He stressed that the Association is totally in support of the Presidency on this matter. He posited that such financial recklessness brought the economy to its knees and enjoined the President-elect to distance himself from the culture of impunity that has been the bane of the current political dispensation."Where in the world do politicians approve life pension for themselves after serving for four or eight years," he wondered.
He however urged the incoming Governors and State Houses of Assembly where such pension laws had been passed to repeal them because they offend good conscience and public morality

InvestmentMaking A Choice Of Insurance Plan by dearestsewa(op): 12:00pm On Oct 18, 2014
Background:

Until recently, I had known insurance to be a kind of risky and expensive endeavor. I thought it was for rich people who wanted to insure their house, car, business premises, or children's education. They pay premiums monthly. When they face a tragedy or disaster, say an auto accident, the insurance company will give them a new car.You know, that kind of idea. I was literate and all that but didn't know better.

Now:

I have been coming across a number of insurance agents recently, and I realised many insurance companies in Nigeria now have packages for the average Nigerian. AIICO, Custodian, Mutual Benefits etc. They now have a kind of savings plan in which people can save to get their money with interest after a given period.

Although, I know there may be others here who were not insurance-literates like me but I believe some NLers might have tried some of these new policies before. Please, kindly educate me about the nitty-gritty of these policies.

I am presently considering AIICO's Corporate Savings plan, Custodian's Esusu Shield, and Mutual Benefit's ISPP. I would like to make an informed decision. Thanks.

EducationRe: Learn New Languages Here by dearestsewa(op): 11:09am On Nov 27, 2013
Hi all,
Been a while. Before we continue our new language acquisition, let's get tips that will enhance our language learning. I compiled these tips:

*Decide on the new language you want to learn. It is easy and better to learn one language at a time and to decide why it is important for you to learn it. This will help you to stay motivated.
*Study the pronunciation of the new language you want to learn. Practice the difficult sound daily and then, check your proficiency with a fluent speaker or a dictionary in that language. Ensure you get pronunciations as correctly as possible. Bad pronunciation habits are confusing and difficult to break.Study the writing system of the language too.
*Practice the common words or phrases that are relevant to you. Don't learn words tractor when you won't say it everyday. A word like woman might be better than zoo. Learn the most important words and learn them in context rather than in isolation.
* Take advantage of free web tutorials, especially the video or audio listen and learn.
* Try to know the history and culture of the native speakers of the language you are learning.
*Never stop practicing. Speak the language with native speakers you know. Let them correct you where necessary.
*Be patient with yourself. Don't give up easily if you are having difficulties. Begin with simple and common words and practice daily.

Later all.
