Actually, which ever which way the case goes, it simply affects everybody--muslims and Christians. I'm not a muslim, i was, but i still have a muslim name, and for just the idea of the name, i'm constantly stereotyped. Every time i have to travel my heart breaks. The last time i travelled i was almost stripped to the knickers. If i feel this way about it, just on the basis of my name, i wonder how muslims feel--especially the ones that have no backbone for violence. As for the Fatai William boy, that was just soooo sad, when that event happened in London, i thought i'd lost my sis, cuz she takes the tube at that time of the day, and 2 of the stations that were affected were on her route home and back, but as God'll have it that day, she didn't go to work; so everyone's affected by the violence. ***They should just try and put an end to the violence, cuz i don't like the stress of those strip searching, and the fear of even travelling on the tube or the bus is paralysing. I'm so freaked out of trying to apply for a British Visa, cuz i don't know whether they'll deny soley on the basis of my name! it's just an unfair situation ![]() |
I did already. No hard feelings on this side. Cheers. |
It simply means i understand what you were referring to now, when we were discussing the aristo issue. Cuz after reading your reply my immediate reaction was "ehm where's he coming from? let me see who he is sef" but on further reading of what i previously wrote i just ended up shrugging my shoulders at your response. |
@Dakmanzero A while back i'd asked to put a face to the writings, and you gave me some excuse about stuff--now i get it. I have no regrets, and i owe no one an apology about my beliefs, as no one owes me an apology about their beliefs either. We will find out who's right or wrong soon. If i'm wrong, i've enjoyed every bit of it. |
@Davidylan I may be outside Nigeria, but i donate to feeding the poor, so i can boast that i'm doing something. There are charities that are trying to take care of these children, we have motherless babies homes, there are NGOs that genuinely look out for the interest of the poor. Tell me what major achievements we've acheived in 46yrs. Ok, we just paid off our debts, oya, other things?? We have corrupt government constantly frauding and de-frauding. In 46yrs we've only gotten better in bad leadership--is that not a cry for help? World renown scientists? who? LOL. unless i don't know them o! but last time i checked we didn't have any. If we have them, why are the science majors running out of Africa to get a better understanding of the field? If other African nations can't afford to buy it, why should we be pace setters at owning nuclear weapons? we, like a lot of them, have more pressing issues also. I don't know the last time you were in Africa, but i can tell you that continent is currently not in need of weapons. They need health care programs for the poor, jobs, good water, electricity--should i go on? Weather nuclear weapons are solid or liquid, that shouldn't be our major problem. We keep trying to measure up to the United States and co, how old is the US? she sure aint 46. How old is China? surely she's not 46 either! compared to these countries we're babies, and if we're not, i still stand by it that we've not proven to be otherwise. |
@Davidylan This isn't a function of ridicule. Africans are brilliant--no doubt. But who's going to train them? as a people we've not proved we're capable of handling issues as major as this. We've not even fed our children! the people we want to protect are starving, the people to ensure the safety of these things are starving also. Regardless of wherever missiles or whatever are kept, we cannot gurantee that those things will be safe and will not become a problem on a larger scale--there aren't any guarantees. The leaders might even sell it as black market. Please, let's face where we are, and realistically so, that way we have a better grasp of things and know how to move from there. We're barely getting ourselves together and we want to take another major step. It's like the analogy of a baby just taking its first steps--yes, its walking, but give it more time before you expect it to start running all over the place. Yes, it's a matter of "political will" that still needs time! |
My sister, the very thought of Nuclear Weapons in Africa scares me. I fear that some ignorant person will go and detonate the thing , and we might be faced with an episode similar to the Lagos bomb last of 2001, or what year was that. Only in this case, it would affect the whole of Africa. |
If Russia's backing the US about not inviting OBJ to the G-8 summit, do you think they'll still be backing Bush after Chenney's statement? just wondering out loud. Another question is "if the non-invitation's really cuz of the third term bid for power, do you think that'll really make an impact on OBJ, cuz the man is too stubborn." Any thoughts on that, anybody. |
My question is, what are we going to use it for? yes, we have issues of security, but we've not been successful with the aviation ministry, we want to add nuclear power to our woes? before we know it, we'll end up bombing ourselves, because of little know how. When Nigeria, and other poor African countries can handle other more pressing issues, then it'll be safe to get nuclear weapons. But till then, they should focus on reducing poverty, and end the genocide going on in Africa. Africa being what it is, bribery and corruption in high and low places, as a people we're not ready for it. |
My Special shout out is to God--Father, you see me through the best and the worst. You love me just as i am, you remain faithful to me, even when i don't deserve it--thank you. To my Parents--you've given me virtues that i can't shake off, traits that make me who i am--thank you. To my Siblings--i couldn't have asked for better people, thanks for giving beautiful nephews and neices, and for your help with the wedding --with people like you, i'll never have to worry one day about it.To my friends and enemies--you make me better, stronger and smarter. If you've not been a true friend, i'll soon dump you ![]() To All Nairalanders-- you make being a Nigerian worth it. I'm proud to be a Nigerian, i don't know whether we're free or not, but with the group of people i've met here--you make me proud, as i've seen a group of people that are really smart, imaginative et al. To Nwoke-- Hmmm! i'm still thinking about it. But you're not half bad! you run a great site. |
I'm too realistic to say she's the best, but every mother that's ever been there for her child--cried with them, loved on them-y'all know the drill, those mothers qualify as the best. My mum's my best friend, i can tell her anything, and i mean that literally. She's so cool, she has serious fashion sense, she's book smart and every other kind of smart. She's God fearing, hard-working, a proper woman of virtue. Every point of my life she's been there for me, even after i left home. I remember the period i was having tooth ache, i called home, cuz the pain was unbearable, and it was midnight, and i had no sympathetic ear. My mum stayed on the phone till i was a bit calm and could nap a little. She called me through out that day to make sure i'd gone to the dentist and i was recovering nicely. When i had to have a nail extraction, though she didn't go the hospital with me, she got home and met me in pain. I'd never forget that day ever in my life. She'd already parked her car, came to my room to check up on me and saw me crying and she bundled me (i was 18 ) into her car and took me to a pharmacy to get an anaestethic to dull the pain. When we got home, she sat with me, as i couldn't sleep, and we just talked and gisted and prayed together, and we hugged for a long time. Now, i'm getting married, i think she's happy, but sad at the same time, cuz a part of her feels she's losing her best friend. She'll always be my best friend. I love her--i couldn't have picked a better mum if i had to pick one for myself. |
@Dakmanzero Don't worry, we're not enemies. If there's onething i know, it's that i'm in the truth, and till the day of reconing comes, i'll keep on praying for those outside of the way, the truth, and the life. Don't worry, your mummy will not cry prematurely over your matter. |
Honestly, OBJ should focus on more pressing issues. I came home over Christmas, if not for dusting powder i'd have come back to yankee with heat rashes. Thank God for medication, i had to take malaria medications not to be quarantined. I had to go take a TB test for my job, and please the thing tested positive because of the drugs i took over the break--need i say i lost the job? I don't even smoke! So OBJ should focus on health issues, electricity and the way forward, and leave spraying of the naira alone. You guys face it, it's who we are--even at the parties here in Yankee people spray their HARD earned dollars, and the Americans marvel, they don't think we're ignorant as a lot of us are heading our fields. They trip cuz their lives are so boring. |
I salute her o! i believe she sees a sweeter, softer side of you, the side i hope, oneday, we'll see in Nairaland. You're indeed very special--fearfully and wonderfully made. |
Ajisafe, you worry o!!! aah! i believe God really took His time when He was creating you, cuz you're such a wonderful person, inspite of yourself. |
English!!!! Ajisafe, i meant if i met you first, i'd have been forced to settle for a white man! shooo! LOL, you're cracking me up. You know what, inspite of all the insults back and forth, i love you (Please, i'm not in love with you), and i'm sorry i insulted you. My "whiteman God" teaches me better than that. So, i'm sorry, i won't insult you anymore. |
Hey, i hope i'm safe disclosing my location. This is a peaceful town o! no riots or anything! i leave in Marshall--a rural villa. I go to school here. The town's quiet, and boring. The church's--no word, no spirit here, so i take the trip, and it's worth it. |
I'm quite content the way i am. I don't need a man, got me one already. Thank God i met him before i ran into you, if not my opinion of black men would've been tainted for life, and i'd have happily settled for a white man. I love my way of life, i don't pracitse religion. I'm simply a Christian. |
@TayoD Cool. Please, let's just leave Ajisafe alone. It's a lonely night, i guess he needs the company, and he thrives off insults. |
@Grizzly, Please leave Ajisafe alone o! so that you don't go the route i went! for which i'm totally ashamed. Thinking out loud "How could i have stooped to Ajisafe's level. |
Ajisafe, at this point, you're amusing me. I think under all your viciousness, you have a sense of humor. I won't speak much before you go and burn my father's house down! |
I'm sure you'll know who hags are, you're surrounded by them, and for all i know, probably related to some. Vicious, virulent man. |
Serious?? tight. What church do you go to? i live 3hrs away from the cities, so come in every weekend to fellowship with the saints. U of M--tight! studying what? |
Like i said, you're a waste of God's valuable time, His good Soil, space, and air. It's no wonder you don't have a dog, it won't be able to stand you either! unless the poor thing's being terroised to stay by its master! i'm sure dogs can sense your evil aura from miles away. This'll be my last word to you. |
@TayoD St Paul or Minneapolis? i go to church in Minneapolis. |
At least we're both sure of where we'd be going--a place you have no concept of--a place of true peace and everlasting worship. If you call me to dip my finger in the water to cool your tongue, i don't know what i'll do to you! All that ablution better keep you cool when you're smoking in hell. Dude, i'm not even going to waste my time on you anymore--you're just a waste of good soil, and energy. |
I won't drag myself to your level. It's just unfortunate you had the opportunity to get behind a computer. You hate the West, yet enjoy their technology. if you're such a loyal person to your faith, you might as well go all out and not use either their computers or their pen. I'm a Christian, and i'm no LovePeddler, you've never seen me performing anything lewd, and i'm sure even if i was a LovePeddler, my standards will still be too high to touch you with a long pole, or spit on you if you were a house on fire! dude, you're not the only one who can be insultive. I'll categorize you as you come across, and you come across as an extremist! My taste in men is impeccable, so it'll be impossible to have you as a father, thank you Jesus, a brother, even a cousin, much more a husband, i'd rather die than have YOU touch me in any form or way! Nwoke!!! Told you not to merge Christians and muslims together o!!! you refused! ![]() |
Ajisafe, you're no better than the people you're trying to reprove for their so called lies! you only prove them right when you go off like that. I've never seen you peaceful on ANY post that you've been involved in. I'm a Christian, and i've not referred to anything but your character, but yet you've gone ahead and generalized all Christians as "Stupid," does that make you any different from those that call muslims "terrorists?" I don't know the teachings of Mohammed, but i'd like to think he won't appreciate you calling TayoD "idiotic." You need to be more peaceful. I am the one who said you should be a "gentleman" there's nothing stupid about me! mind you, my grandpa was an imam, and never did i hear him speak harshly as i've ever read you write. You almost write as if if you find the person that's spoken against your religion you'll deal thoroughly with the person. Makes me wonder if you have a matchet in your pocket , well do you? bottom line, you don't have to go off the top at every opportunity you get. Ever heard of "he who angers you controls you?" so please, put your holy anger in check. |
@Zionchic Yeah! Shekinah Glory is on the roll--Prophetess Bynum actually invited their choir to minister at Threshing Floor. As for Martha Munizzi, yeah, she should've taken it as a compliment when people say she sings like a black woman, cuz that's just soul music right there! we all know she's white. Initially, when i heard "God is here" i thought it was prophetess Bynum that sang it, but when i saw Martha was white, i tripped, but bought the CD all the same, cuz i believed it to be an anointed album. Concerning her statement, she should've just taken it as a compliment and said as much--but once she made that faithful statement, she lost me. She further lost me when she was showing off her crib and her car like a secualar artist! Don't have anything against being wealthy, Kirk has shown us his crib, and the ring he bought his wife. So no one thinks i'm racist, i love Third day, and Casting Crowns, and Jeremy Camp. Martha just needs a lesson or two in humility. Mind you, she wasn't making her boast in the Lord! Try getting Shekinah Glory's "Praise is What i do" and "Yes" i'm listening to them right now--you'll love it. I'll have to go listen to Smokie's version of praise is what i do--none tops the original, if he indeed re-sang it. Whatever you do, please don't say it in front of their pastor that Smokie sang it, the way i said J.Moss did, only find out it he didn't. Oh! and about "Because of who you are" you need to hear Juanita Bynum and Judy Jacob's version--you'll, not die, but you'll do something close to bow!!! |
Ajisafe again Nwoke o!!!!!!! biko (please), do something about this now! haba! do you want there to be bloodshed on Nairaland?? you know we can't all get along when the Ajisafe's write like this! Thinking "hope Ajisafe doesn't have my address? wonder if i'm save tonight!" |
I wonder . Maybe because we have too many people who think they're sent by God, some were really sent, others just went. |
I can almost predict that this posting will be followed by insults, but hey! i stand by the first ammendment--freedom of speech. Ajisafe, you're so rude, you don't have to curse out everyone that has an opinion--you have yours, i'm sure there are milder ways to get your opinion across. You don't have to be so virulent. You may curse me out, won't make any difference. You almost come across as a guy who has one of those thick bushy goaties and roam around in a jalabia, i'm almost scared you'll come and beat me up and burn down my crib, just from the way you write. Just pipe down a little and answer why islam is violent, instead of promoting the very behavior being questioned. I'm positive not all your muslim patriots will come out and curse out people, like you. And this is not the first thread where you'll be sooooo rude and violent. You might be older than me, but you're acting like a petulant child! grow up. @Nwoke Please try and put these kind of virulent languages in check. I know you're working very hard on this site, but please, call the Ajisafe's to order, before they burn down nairaland. Thank God it's just a site. |
