HealthPotty Training Readiness Checklist For Toddlers by debbie(op): 1:57pm On Aug 19, 2014
To all parents with toddlers, aunties and uncles who have little ones to take care of, to all the caregivers especially in creche and preschools.....below is a guide to know when a toddler is ready for potty training.
READ AND SHARE WITH OTHERS

PHYSICAL SIGNS
1.Is coordinated enough to walk, and even run, steadily.

2.Urinates a fair amount at one time.

3.Has regular, well-formed bowel movements at relatively predictable times.

4.Has "dry" periods of at least two hours or during naps, which shows that his bladder muscles are developed enough to hold urine.

BEHAVIORAL SIGNS

1.Can sit down quietly in one position for two to five minutes.

2.Can pull his pants up and down.

3.Dislikes the feeling of wearing a wet or dirty diaper.

4.Shows interest in others' bathroom habits (wants to watch you go to the bathroom or wear underwear).

5.Gives a physical or verbal sign when he's having a bowel movement such as grunting, squatting, or telling you.

6.Demonstrates a desire for independence.

7.Takes pride in his accomplishments.

8.Isn't resistant to learning to use the toilet.

9.Is in a generally cooperative stage, not a negative or contrary one.

COGNITIVE SIGNS
1.Understands the physical signals that mean he has to go and can tell you before it happens or even hold it until he has time to get to the potty.

2.Can follow simple instructions, such as "go get the toy."

3.Understands the value of putting things where they belong.

4.Has words for urine and stool.

REMEMBER EVERY CHILD IS DIFFERENT IN DEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH,SO PROPER CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO FOLLOW THEM AND THE TODDLER MUST NOT HAVE ALL THESE ATTRIBUTES,BUT A CERTAIN NUMBER BEING EXHIBITED IS A HUGE SIGN TO KICK START THE POTTY TRAINING.
THANKS.

I have few questions to ask ooooo based on the readings smiley

By Obeying the whole commandments is it enough to guarantee one salvation? could it be that most Christians have been living their lives based on a checklist?
How can one get rid of those possessions that may hinder us from accepting the gift of salvation given to us?
Could it be that Jesus Christ knew all the answers the man was going to give, before he asked the seemingly hard question?
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by debbie(f): 9:44am On Aug 18, 2014
Good morning my beautiful people...thought to share something from the WORD AMONG US,CATHOLIC DAILY GUIDE...
I WAS RICHLY BLESSED BY TODAY'S READING....

Meditation: Matthew 19:16-22

20th Week in Ordinary Time

If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me. (Matthew 19:21)

What do I need to do to get to heaven? This is an age-old question that millions of people have asked. The rich young man in today’s Gospel reading had everything he could have wanted, but he still felt empty. He lived a fine life with many possessions and appeared to be a very upstanding person. Yet something was stirring in his heart, and he was determined to ask Jesus about it.

Let’s imagine the scene as the young man approaches Jesus. “You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery,” Jesus tells the man. “I have obeyed these,” he replies. Jesus continues, “You shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness.” “These I have also followed,” the man insists. “What about ‘Honor your father and mother’ and ‘Love your neighbor’ ”? Jesus presses. “Yes, I have done these things. What am I missing here?” “Sell everything, give to the poor, and follow me.”

Now, what if the man had not walked away sad but instead admitted that he couldn’t do this on his own? Surely Jesus would have embraced him and rejoiced that he was opening his heart to God.

Perhaps you have wondered what acceptable thing you can do to gain salvation. Maybe you are trying to be a better person, with varying degrees of success, and wondering whether you’re going to make it.

But Jesus is standing before you and asking you to do just one thing: “Follow me” (Matthew 19:21). Whatever it is that may be holding you back, let it go. The rich young man was too tied to his possessions. What are you too attached to? Try your best to lay it before the Lord and ask him to help you let go of it. Then just follow him. Don’t look back. Just keep looking forward. Take the next step. And the next step. And the one after that. Soon enough, you’ll find yourself running after him, free and clear.

“Jesus, you are my greatest treasure. You are my most valuable possession. Help me to lay my life before you. Give me the grace to follow you and put you first each day.”

Ezekiel 24:15-23; (Psalm) Deuteronomy 32:18-21

Amen ooooooo! May our hope and faith keep us going
SalC: "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten-- the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm-- my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed. Joel 2:25-26

God is our restorer and his promises are for sure.

Good morning brethren and do have a blessed day ahead. smiley
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by debbie(f): 1:51pm On Aug 13, 2014
@damerry.....you have given a new insight into those questions.
This is one of the problems we have in our present age, when we expect or pray we have an expectation, but when its like what we are looking at isnt what we are seeing.....we tend to start doubting God or even grow faint-hearted.But that does not change who God is.

Remember when John was beheaded, his own disciples scattered and some thought that was the end of their salvation, but the few that held on to their faith went ahead to accept the true Messiah.
Like my sister SalC asked......really many times we see ourselves doubting what God has told us and even his words, just because things turned out different.I assure you my brethren...THOSE WHO PUT THEIR TRUST IN THE LORD ARE LIKE MOUNT ZION WHICH CAN NOT BE SHAKEN.
PoliticsRe: PICS-APC And Calumny (ketu Version) by debbie(f): 5:34pm On Aug 12, 2014
So at this your age this is all the response you could come up with...better go and cover your head in shame. When someone is trying to point out something that is wrong all you could do was to look for an excuse and nothing meaningful to say.Who called igbos here? why must you bring in unnecessary tribal comments? even when you cant deny the fact...continue living in your illusion that all is well.

Keky: The igbos(DUNCES, FLAT HEADS, PARASITES, TRAVELLERS) are more concerned about lagos than getting good
governors in their South East. You guys should go back to your Land. Na by force? Why una wan die on top our matter?
PoliticsRe: PICS-APC And Calumny (ketu Version) by debbie(f):
I can see some human beings are too ashamed to accept the truth even when it is facing them. This thread is all about the rot and dirtiness in major parts of lagos state. It is an ignorant fellow that will see all these pictures and still doubt.W ho are you defending? fashola as i said and will always say it has done little or nothing for the majority of the citizens. One structure will be erected and will be repaired over and over again, while some places have not been touched. The last time i checked his tenure will end before May 2015.....Dont be sentimental and fight over nothing. When we see the pictures of other state,we will still condemn it and speak out.
So i urge all these political bigots to keep quite and face the shame and failure.
Back to the topic.if you know kosofe bus stop going to mile12 where those keke people load, you will surely cry for that road....yet they are taxed daily and on every loading they do.....please dont just come here and talk rubbish if you have not been to that road at least today.
Secondly the major street called OLADELE where you have APOSTOLIC GRAMMAR SCHOOL,WITH THE KOSOFE SENIOR AND JUNIOR SCHOOLS all along this stretch of road, you will understand that the road is worst than the one leading to hell. One will see some nursery kids passing through the gutters and fighting their way with okada, because the road is just toooo bad and whenever it rains your car will cry out.

YET SOMEONE WILL COME AND START SHIFTING BLAMES ON WHO? THE LCDA? WHO PUT THEM THERE? IS IT NOT THE STATE GOVERNMENT?
Please face the truth and accept the reality.
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by debbie(f): 3:18pm On Aug 12, 2014
it says....Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.
hummmm, getting clearer now cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
I asked this same question to a bible scholar and this was his response....

Jesus’ baptism also showed that He identified with sinners. His baptism symbolized the sinners’ baptism into the righteousness of Christ, dying with Him and rising free from sin and able to walk in the newness of life. His perfect righteousness would fulfill all the requirements of the Law for sinners who could never hope to do so on their own. When John hesitated to baptize the sinless Son of God, Jesus replied that it was proper to “fulfill all righteousness” (Matthew 3:15). By this He alluded to the righteousness that He provides to all who come to Him to exchange their sin for His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).

In addition, Jesus coming to John showed His approval of John's baptism, bearing witness to it, that it was from heaven and approved by God. This would be important in the future when others would begin to doubt John’s authority, particularly after his arrest by Herod (Matthew 14:3-11).

Perhaps most importantly, the occasion of the public baptism recorded for all generations to come the perfect embodiment of the triune God revealed in glory from heaven. The testimony directly from heaven of the Father’s pleasure with the Son and the descending of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus (Matthew 3:16-17) is a beautiful picture of the trinitarian nature of God. It also depicts the work of the Father, Son and Spirit in the salvation of those Jesus came to save. The Father loves the elect from before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4); He sends His Son to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10); and the Spirit convicts of sin (John 16:cool and draws the believer to the Father through the Son. All the glorious truth of the mercy of God through Jesus Christ is on display at His baptism.

Syncan: Sis, I think Jesus answered that question himself, lets check it out... Matt 3:15, so it seems to me.
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by debbie(f): 2:38pm On Aug 12, 2014
@damerry....thanks for that explanation. Its obvious you all are driving home one point.John was ordained a prophet even before he was born, even prohet Isaiah said it in the book of Isaiah 40:3..

my question is this, why did Jesus Christ allow John to baptize him? knowing that he was sinless and John was all about preaching on repentance and baptism?
PoliticsRe: The Sorry State Of Roads In Ejigbo Community Lagos State by debbie(f): 1:21pm On Aug 12, 2014
Please dont mind him,i don't want to thread words with him.....its obvious from his comments you know who and what he represent.
If the poor masses doesn't complain about any ill treatment from the government i wonder when and how their voices will be heard....continue your sentiment and unrealistic analysis.
warrior01: Keep on finding rubbish excuses for the failures of your pay masters. It obvious hypocrisy runs in your blood. The workforce of Lagos resides in the afore mentioned places that has witnessed no government presence. Don't they deserve to live a decent life? You really suck with your useless argument. Again, I ask; what happens to all the internally generated revenue of Lagos state? Move out from your enclave and see what other states are achieving even with their low income generation. The APC government in Lagos is a big disgrace and enough of this propaganda. Lagos stinks and it's high time people rose and condemn this failure of a government.
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by debbie(f): 11:21am On Aug 12, 2014
Thank you for that explanation, really the choice of words in bible goes a long way to explaining things clearly.
Syncan: The passage you refer to, isn't it this one : " And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No".

Nne. Try take a look at the highlighted word there, some versions use the. It was specific...a particular prophet who they refer to as "the prophet". He wasn't that Prophet (most likely Elisha who got a double portion of Elijah's prophetic spirit... also due to 2Kings5:8 ). He was a prophet, but not that prophet.
PoliticsRe: The Sorry State Of Roads In Ejigbo Community Lagos State by debbie(f): 10:54am On Aug 12, 2014
@ maclatunji,it is very clear now that you are blaming the local government chairmen and not the state government...please where is it done? leadership starts from the head....when roads are constructed in ikoyi or surulere, will you applaud the chairmen or fashola. Please stop all these your sentimental talks and stop being defensive. When the federal government is not doing their job, dont we blame the president.
Face the truth, fashola second tenure was a BIG BLUNDER.I dont want to start siting things, you have to face the fact that somethings were out-rightly abandoned,so save us the stress of being the spokesman for the government and see the real truth in what people are saying. Some places have been abonadoned for over 8years...yet the government has been in power for such a period of time.

I think the government was doing more of the more you look the less you see...Remember,he did some work, but he never did some.
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by debbie(f): 10:45am On Aug 12, 2014
but when he was called a prophet by the people he rejected it.....why? explain biko
Syncan: For me he was a prophet, he was God's mouth piece, his father even acknowledged him as such in the "Benedictus" Lk 1:76. I believe he knows who he was clearly, for he knew his mission...to prepare the way for the lord, One who he could not "untie even the sole of His sandals". I do not think Jn 1:21 shows he didn't know he was a prophet.
