Is there someone you've considered a lost cause,...a brother who abuses drugs, a father who has abandoned his family, a mother who is an alcoholic, a sister who is lost to vanities, a friend who is deep into debauchery, etc?

Can you think of how much effort you've really put in towards getting the lost one back, have there been sleepless nights of prayers, worn out knees from kneeling, swollen eyes from crying, lean purse from spending, bruised ego from pleading, etc. Do you think it's been enough to despair yet? Jesus said his interest is "to do the father's will" Jn 4:34, what is your interest, isn't it to do the father's will too? Note that the father has willed that none "of these little ones should be lost" as read above, so how are you helping to fulfill this will; if you are not like the shepherd, seeking the the lost sheep out. St. Monica persevered, she was rewarded by the conversion of her son St. Augustine.

Dear brethren, who is that lost cause of yours, it's not late to start up a new novena of prayers, not late to renew efforts in reaching out, not late to start another round of visits to the blessed sacrament, nor is it late for a novena of Holy Communion, all in petition to God for this cause. Oh, and when you do, approach this cause humbly, patiently and with perseverance; knowing that it is not by your making, but by the grace of God, for God will make things beautiful again in His time.

maclatunji: Actually, everybody feels the government even an abdicratic one. However, I agree with you that there are many areas that have not been attended to. Governor Fashola will readily admit it, APC leaders in Ejigbo will readily admit, so it is not something that is unknown. Why is it so? I have tried to explain to you.

Okay, let us look at urban renewal from the time of Tinubu, it started from VI/Ikoyi/Lagos Island and then to Yaba/Surulere now moving to Mushin, the Isolo road is under repair even if people are suffering at the moment. From Mushin it will move to Isolo, then Ejigbo and so on. It is gradual and it takes time and money.

The local government Chairman might not be doing enough but trust me, even if wants to perform wonders, his budget will clip his wings!

I have a "little" insight about how leadership works even after all the corruption is removed from Nigeria, we still have huge developmental challenges especially Lagos the "city state" within Nigeria.

maclatunji: Everybody in Lagos wants the same thing resources are limited. The government needs money. Can it do better? Yes.

maclatunji: funding? from who? in terms of loan or from federal government? anyway i dont want to excuse them for neglecting the citizens and not doing what is expected........most of these roads have been like this for over 7years running? and some were abandoned mid way.
i still believe that the present government owes the people.
Lagos state needs to be granted special status and funding to address its numerous great challenges.

maclatunji: Sorry Ejigbo residents but you might have to wait till next year to get better roads outside of the Egbe road heading towards Ikotun from Lagos State Government because it is not embarking on new projects this year, only completing existing ones.

Local government chairmen will lament paucity of funds but the state of Ejigbo is awful.
