we havent dealt on the questions you asked...so i think you should be bringing them one after the other. Syncan: One after the other looks good to me. |
Many times we easily give up on a brother whom we feel is lost or derailed. Its not easy human-wise to go after that singular sheep....after all we have more than enough in the sheepfold,so naturally we will ask,why will i have to worry and disturb myself? But to our God,a soul is as important as the others. That is why he is all Loving and caring. Personally i have at one point in my life given up on someone and even felt that some people i know will never change, but i realized that if God in his infinite mercy didnt give up on my.....why should i let go? Syncan: ‘Tell me. Suppose a man has a hundred sheep and one of them strays; will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hillside and go in search of the stray? I tell you solemnly, if he finds it, it gives him more joy than do the ninety-nine that did not stray at all. Similarly, it is never the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.’ Matt 18:12-14 |
To everybody i say good morning, and specially to me sister Salc...thanks for this bible discussion.please i will like us to contribute and also learn too. Now to the question of John the Baptist being a prophet or not.I think he saw himself to be unworthy to be called a prophet, remember he was acclaimed to be a mouth speaker or rather a fore-runner,who constantly announced the coming of the Messiah. All his life he grew in the desert and ate what normal humans didnt eat per say.So whenever he entered the city to baptize and preach....the crowd called him a prophet, personally i think he didn't know he was actually prophesying. no human revealed to him all he said and did....yet he knew that the Savior was coming soonest. Many a times we have gifts in us which we may not know about...but it takes the holy spirit and your ability to hear God to actually 1.Discover 2.Develop .3 Utilize these gifts all to the glory of the Father. The story of the talents given to those three servants clearly makes us understand that one out of those three refused to understand and discover that he had a treasure in his hands. |
@Reference: you actually said my mind....same questions i asked earlier.truth is we must give credit when necessary and condemn what is not right. |
Thank you for siting all these...in sincerity will you say this same thing for the federal government without being biased? because it is so easy and quick to judge from afar....i am not in any way clamoring for support to the pdp led government. But what am trying to say is that, after giving all these explanations and those of them up there also give us theirs....wont you say they are doing nothing? despite the budget and allocations, whether huge or little? wont you say they have failed us? i know you wont. well my own summary is that WHEN A LEADER DOES WELL APPLAUD HIM AND WHEN HE IS NOT DOING WELL SPEAK OUT,NO SENTIMENTS SHOULD BE ATTACHED maclatunji: Actually, everybody feels the government even an abdicratic one. However, I agree with you that there are many areas that have not been attended to. Governor Fashola will readily admit it, APC leaders in Ejigbo will readily admit, so it is not something that is unknown. Why is it so? I have tried to explain to you. |
please i choose to disagree with you,you are really making me believe you are supporting the governments lack of responsibility and good governance. How and why wont everybody want the same thing? didnt we all vote them into power? is there now classification in terms of providing the social amenities? Are people not paying tax? by fire or by force?will you tell that to the federal government when they fail you? please and please some people in LAGOS STATE HAVE NOT FELT AN ATOM OF THE DIVIDENDS OF THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT.Don't be defensive and assume that all is alright. Some roads have never been worked on for ages, have you been to some parts of IJU? Government needs money is no excuse for failure...when one is in power he should deliver and not make the masses feel cheated. Meanwhile we blame the federal government for not doing heaven and earth for us,yet in these little ways we fail and give reasons for failure.......Al i know is that FASHOLA HAS TRIED BUT SOME PEOPLE HAVE NEVER SEEN THE IMPACT.SHIKINA maclatunji: Everybody in Lagos wants the same thing resources are limited. The government needs money. Can it do better? Yes. |
maclatunji: funding? from who? in terms of loan or from federal government? anyway i dont want to excuse them for neglecting the citizens and not doing what is expected........most of these roads have been like this for over 7years running? and some were abandoned mid way. |
So who do we blame? is it that the government doesnt want to do its job or that the local government is poorly funded? which ever way,all i can say is that they all have failed us.Then in 2015 another fellow will come and promise heaven and earth.Yet they expect you to pay your tax by force or fire..... customized13: lolzzzz, its the nature of my job, I go for field inspection of billboards in those areas. |
bros abeg no vex,are you speaking for the state government? you said wait till next year? when the present administration will finish before May 2015.....I dont want to believe that this is a form of consolation, the truth is that the leadership in these areas have failed.....no matter how you want to look at it. maclatunji: Sorry Ejigbo residents but you might have to wait till next year to get better roads outside of the Egbe road heading towards Ikotun from Lagos State Government because it is not embarking on new projects this year, only completing existing ones. |
please oooo, who lives in AGUDA? i ran for my life the day i went there.Does it mean that the people living there will never see any good road in their lives? the roads are so bad that even your car will cry out.please Fashola should look into these roads....or sorry to say it,his tenure is almost over and these people can not say they benefited from his government.Yet some people will claim that Lagos is a mega city ![]() I was opportune to pass through mile12,just before that there is this kosofe road, where the task force and revenue touts always collect money from people .The road is so so bad that i dreaded that road. There is this road in ketu, where you have 3 STATE OWNED NURSERY,PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL along one major road. The road where these students pass through is so bad that at times, when i drive through i see these kids passing through the dry gutter just to avoid those bad spots, even cars can not easily pass through that road. These people need to feel the impact of the present government, else i see it as a failure After all promises were made and never fulfilled. |
i will pm you within this week Syncan: Work is good...You'll be fine. |
i full ground....with plenty work facing me today! Syncan: Antie debbie!!! You're welcome. Top of the morning to you, hope you de kampe. |
Mass Reading & Meditation for August 11, 2014 Meditation: Ezekiel 1:2-5, 24-28 while I was among the exiles by the river Chebar, the heavens opened. (Ezekiel 1:1) Have you ever heard the phrase, “Don’t put God in a box”? It’s because we know that he doesn’t fit! But imagine that all your life and all your parents’ lives, the idea of a relationship with God revolved around a fixed location—not a box, exactly, but a room: the Holy of Holies in the Temple in Jerusalem. In today’s first reading, Ezekiel and his fellow Israelites have been deported to Babylon—far away from their beloved Temple. But then, out of the blue, the glorious presence of the Lord appears to Ezekiel in a place no one expects. He shows up not in the Holy of Holies but in a pagan land! With allegories, visions, and parables, Ezekiel carried the word of the Lord to the Jewish people in exile, constantly emphasizing the sovereignty and majesty of God. He is God, and he can appear and speak wherever he chooses. He is not limited to a building or a nation. Whether he was giving a message of judgment or consolation, God reminded his people over and over again that he is in charge. A few hundred years later, God again broke through his people’s expectations when the Messiah came as a servant who died and rose for his people’s sins. Even knowing all of this, it’s hard not to put limitations on the Lord. “But this is how things were when I was growing up!” or “She can’t possibly serve the Lord. Look at how chaotic her life is.” But the secret for recognizing God’s work doesn’t come by focusing on the limitations; it comes by humbly looking for his glory in whatever form it may take. As you start your day today, try to think of two circumstances in which God might show himself in an unexpected way. Maybe you can try to find him in the quiet neighbor who always keeps to herself. Or you can look for him in a hard situation you are working through. Know that when you begin to make space for the Lord like this, you will look back one day and notice how some of those limitations and expectations have changed to reflect your ongoing experience of who he is. “Lord, invade my world with your presence today.” Psalm 148:1-2, 11-14; Matthew 17:22-27 |
@Syncan,thank you my brother and good morning to everyone in the house. |
Professor Maurice Iwu was an erudite scholar and researcher for many part of his life. While like many researchers, he did not have it all, there is no controversy as to his professional calling. Nobody, however know him all those years until president Obasanjo plucked him from his job and made him our electoral umpire. His leadership of INEC destroyed whatever credibility he built prior to the job as he was humiliated out after conducting one of the most fraudulent elections in Nigerian history. Nigeria never forgive him even though his failure was motivated by many factors, some of which are not his. Fast toward, any reference to that electoral failing is attributed to Iwu while the president who employed him only take a bit of slight knock. But Iwu generally take the blame for the failure. It is Nigerian factor at work. Osun state elections have come and gone. Congratulations to all those who made it possible. Congratulations to the winners and losers. But while we are at it, one name that shouldn't be pushed aside is INEC Chairman, professor Jega. Typically Nigerians, his name has not been properly echoed as yet because all things went well. Not many even bother to know the name of the osun state electoral officer. Had the elections been massive failure, he would be the only one carrying the cross. Every household would know the name of the state electoral officers.. Even the presidency would point accusing fingers just as all the parties. It is Nigerian way to forget those who made the good happen. It is Nigerian way to associate with success and even claim it. It is Nigerian way to strangulate electoral umpire if things go wrong. It is Nigerian way to focus more on the negatives. Unfortunately, it is contagious. That is why majority hasn't remember the man who would probably have lost his job and reputation had things go wrong. We must learn to give credit to whom it is due so as to encourage others coming to serve, that their glory will not be stolen and given to politicians if they succeed while doing difficult job... If we are so adept at churning our criticism and condemnation when those officers fail, we must equally balance it by praising them when they succeed. The success of this election and those of the immediate past should go to professor Attahiru Jega and his team. Congratulations to him and those who worked behind the scene to make it acceptable to all. Greater test, however, will come in 2015. E go beta! #echoofmymind NOTE- dont quote me and if you do...you are solely on your own and responsible for your comments |

A PRAYER FOR THE THIRSTY Lord, we often take a clean glass of water for granted. Please send people to Help to bring clean water to more people this year. Bring healing and wholeness where sickness has plagued families and even entire communities due to dirty water. In Jesus' name, Amen. A PRAYER FOR THE HUNGRY God, our hearts break because we know people will go to bed hungry tonight. Father, we know we can't feed every single one, but help us to feed as many as we can. Thank you for saving lives through generous and kind-hearted people. In Jesus' name, Amen. Finally brethren, Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 NIV....good night |
A PRAYER FOR THE ABANDONED CHILDREN Lord Jesus, we pray that You would protect every child that is currently wandering the streets of this world alone. Father, please open up opportunities for them to be rescued and put into safe, loving children's homes. Protect them from child predators and help them know the love of Jesus firsthand. In Jesus' name, Amen. |
