FamilyRe: Under-18 Domestic Servants Banned In Nigeria by debbieolat(f): 7:57pm On Apr 17, 2006
When I was in Nigeria, myself and my lil sis were in the boarding school and dad was abroad. Because the house was too large for my mum and lil bro of 4 years old, she took up a fulani girl and the girl was living in our house with my mum cooking for her.
To me, it depends on what you want the househelp for. In my mum's case, she just wanted a companion in the house.

FamilyRe: Men And Women Are Equal! by debbieolat(f): 8:21am On Apr 05, 2006
The bible did say the man is the head of the family and this should not be taken in the same context of being a master. Anyway, why would you want to be a master to the woman you love? If you refer to yourself as a master/superior then you are saying she is a slave/inferior. So where is the love?

In my opinion, my fiancee/husband is the head of the house as Jesus is to the church. I will respect and honour him as the Lord says a woman should be submissive.

I encourage all ladies to pray that God should give them a man who will share everything with them and not lord over them or become a master.

Men should walk hand in hand with women. It's not about being equal or superior, it's about seeing ourselves in the same way and respecting each other for the positive contribution we bring to life and our relationship.

RomanceRe: Why Do British Girls Love To Date Black Guys... by debbieolat(f): 12:28pm On Feb 24, 2006
I think I can give you a good answer as my british friend who's dating my uncle is sitting right with me laughing at your question. She said white boys are not circumcised while black boys are. Check any white girl, they love sex so as long as you can make her scream and go more than 5 mins you're their man grin

Hey teju,
You can definitely trace this guy, go to social services, as you live in the UK, there is a dept that cater for things like this, make sure you tell them his name (if the one he gave you is original), if you have a picture to his face, that will be great. They will definitely trace him for you because he needs to accept his responsibility. Depending on how many years you've been here, you can claim single parent's allowance, it's not really much but it will help a lot. I'm going to help you find information on how to go about this.

Good luck
TravelRe: Nigerians Abroad Must Return Home by debbieolat(f): 11:38am On Feb 24, 2006
Irrespective of what's happening in Nigeria, it's still home. The only thing we nigerians living abroad can do is to keep praying for the nation.

I've been in the UK for 18 yrs but go to Nigeria once a yaer for christmas. It still needs a lot of building up and repairs. I'm typing on my laptop at the moment without any fear of NEPA taking the light. Maybe if solutions are provided for our problems and they are strictly adhered to, Nigeria will become a better place.

For instance, NEPA should be given to private companies. At one time I was using British Gas and electricity, later on I decided it was too expensive and I moved to NPower. The result is that whichever way I go, as long as I pay, I must have light.

And to everyone in abroad, work hard and save money, have one thing in mind that if these people9Americans, British, etc) decides to send back all foreigners even if you have green, red, yellow or whatever passports, be prepared to go back HOME and establish yourself. Trust me it can happen, you can say foreigners bring a lot of income in, but at the same time, whatever little money they have in their country is enough for them.

KEEP LOVING YOUR COUNTRY, IT WILL GET BETTER, ENGLAND, AMERICA USED TO BE BAD ONCE, ALL WE NEED IS PRAYER!!

RomanceRe: Valentine Is In The Air!! by debbieolat(f): 5:46pm On Feb 14, 2006
Ijele, it's people like you that make nigerian girls in abroad look cheap. There's no problem in dating a white girl but do you really know the reason why she's with you? I live in london and know a couple of white girlfriends that only date you black guys because of your private member. It's just a warning.

I hope you don't hear her telling her friends about you and your african accent as you're new to the country. Anyway good luck with the girl and can you stop converting currencies, it's so out of date.

Valentines is all about love and not the amount of money you spend

RomanceRe: Ideal Man (for the women) by debbieolat(f): 6:02pm On Feb 07, 2006
To me an ideal man is:
A man who can listen, teach, change for the better,
A man who is not intimidated or confused by the power & the magic of women
A man who doesn't call women whores, bitches, sluts, etc
A man who doesn't call love making screwing or shagging
But instead say I made her feel good and showed her how much I love and cherish her
A man who make me feel safe, happy and free that I will fall asleep in his arms.

THAT'S AN IDEAL MAN

We pray thee eternal God
Guide us through our lives
Board of governors, students, parents, teachers and friends
Let us work in unity, success shall be ours
