Christianity EtcRe: Tribute To Pastor Ify Irukwu Of Jesus House London Who Passed Away On 4/6/2007 by debbieolat(f): 8:13am On Jun 07, 2007
I was going to post this earlier but couldn't because my church was having a prayer for her. I'm a member of the redeemed church too. This is a very sad news. Pastor Ify is the most genuine woman I have ever met, she does not ook at how old you are or the stuff that comes out of your mouth, she looks at you like you're the most wonderful creature Go made. She has touched many lives including mine with her words of wisdom.
My prayer oes to Pastor Agu and the children. May the Lord grant them the grace to bear this. This is a call out to everyone that nobody knows when the time/day death will come. But when it does, what will you be doing?

Adieu Mummy!!!!!

oreofemi:
now teddy have you ever disvirgined a girl before ,i believe if you have ,then you should know what am talking about
Pls, there is nothing called disvirgin instead it is deflowered

Oreofemi, I'll help amend your signature (Aspire to acquire what you desire, if in the process you perspire, do not retire but refire!)

Anyway, to answer this weird thread, guys who deflowered ladies are not to blame. If your guy keep pestering you, it's up to you to make the decision or is it with force?

And for ladies who wants to stay intact, don't go to your man's house wearing revealing clothes. They're men not sticks. Don't be the one to tempt them. Flee from all appearances of evil. Sometime, it's us ladies that tempt the men. If you don't want to do it yet tell him.
RomanceRe: Does Nigerians Girls Fall Inlove? Do They Really Mean It When They Say I Love U? by debbieolat(f): 11:24am On May 22, 2007
When I started seeing my now fiance, he professed his love after 2 weeks and I jst kept shush and I could see that he

wasn't happy.  One day, he asked if I love him and I said I do like him but I don't think I love him yet because I wasn't

sure I could do all things for him (forsake all and overlook some things).  Eventually, I realised he is the one I want to

spend the rest of my life with and that's after serious prayer and fasting o.  Anyway, we're still courting but when I told

him and continually tell him that I love him, I mean every letter in the word.  I will do anything and go extra mile for him

because I love him

Whydid you pick on me mate? Anyway, I'll give it a try as I'm getting closer to my day. If you get me.

Olaniyi, I am honoured and privilege to have come to know you
Loving you is the greatest gift of lifetime
Loving you is the joy and treasure of my heart
Loving you is my dream come true
Thank for opening your heart to me
I've dreamt of this day
And I'm so proud and lucky to all you
The love of my life
Thanks for being you
And for being mine
I take you as my brother and a part of me
To cherish, honour and give you my heart
For ever till Jesus comes
With the help of God,
I will love you till the end.

All right now, I'll leave it at this for now. Let's hear from y'all
Christianity EtcRe: Different Vows For Groom And Bride In Some Churches by debbieolat(f): 11:11am On Apr 20, 2007
Nite Angel:
I'm sure those who came up with for better for worse had their genuine reason but with all these complexities isn't it better for the couple to say a vow that comes from their hearts maybe then you'll actually hear some men saying "as long as you obey me there won't be trouble" and some women saying "as long as you keep it in your pants, I'll love you forever."

What ya think huh
I actually support your point.  I've attended weddings where the couple wrote their own vows and some of it did not even include words like 'for better for worse I think marriage vows should come from the heart and not mere words of mouth which is not honored. Vows are meant to be sacred, if you love your man/woman, it will not cross your mind to break your vows but eh, how many love each other?
FamilyRe: My Strict Father by debbieolat(f): 10:47am On Dec 13, 2006
wink I will like to thank you guys for your intelligent advice. I couldn't go home on tuesday but went on wednesday. As God would love it, my dad was off work for two days in a row but then my fear caught up with me, i did not speak to him on wednesday night, thursday morning, i came online again and read all your encouragements so i summoned the courage and told him I would like to see him. Guess the first question he asked - Are you pregnant? I just smiled! If only he knew Im still untouched but he'll never know.

Anyway, after parabulating, i told him that I've started seeing this guy and i'll like them to meet. He asked all the questions I was expecting - status in UK (If he wants to use me to get his papers), what profession he is into. All these I explained, then he asked me to call my mother.

To my utermost surprise, my mum pretended as if she's never spoken to tunde in her life and asked where he's from and said "study each other very well and see if it will lead to marriage" I was shocked but did not say anything.

But my father said i should let him know whenever i want to bring tunde down to london to see him.

This is the story of my life.

Thanks for all your contributions. To Donzman - I'm not scared of my dad, i just don't want to be rude to him as that will make me a bad child and a bad role model for my siblings. And to Analytical - dad's not paying my school fees but i still respect him nevertheless. The decision still stands, i'll just tell him about tunde and take the rest of analytical's advice. Anyway, graduation isn't till 2008 (july) so will continue with my relationship. We go for counselling at pastor's place once in a month and i'm the one making tunde wait as he has a good job already.

I appreciate your wisdom guys. You rock!!!!!!!

Thank you so much guys. I'll be going home on tuesday when i'll tell my dad about tunde, i'll take mamaput, tmoni and kaylala's advice and just tell my dad about tunde and keep the engagement out of it for now. I'll keep you informed.

I'm betting he'lll go off the rails when i tell him (hopefully not!!!!!) wink lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Once again, thanks
FamilyRe: My Strict Father by debbieolat(f): 5:16pm On Dec 02, 2006
To paraphrase you, you mean i shouldn't tell him i'm engaged yet. Should just tell him about tunde. Isn't that lying? and trying to hide my man. Do you think i'm too young to be engaged?

THANKS Marlet,

It's my story.  Though i'm not asking for pity.   I'm just fed up of him dictating me.  Your advice is appreciated

I don't know if people have read the news about a nigerian girl - KEMI ADEYOOLA in UK who killed a pensioner and has been sentenced to life imprisonment.

What a disgrace to the whole nation and her family. A young lady whose obsession is to kill!!!

CareerRe: Nigeria Trained Nurses In America by debbieolat(f): 2:11pm On May 10, 2006
Your friend needs to work for a while in Nigeria though because no hospital abroad will employ foreigners without experience. After working for a while, she can then check for vacancies, as soon as there is any vacancy, she needs to contact them to see if they will give her a work permit because without that, she cannot work there. Work permit earned? BINGO!! She can pack and leave Nigeria if she wants to.

Why can't she stay in Nigeria and start some kind of health/medical care service? We always complain that Nigeria is not doing enough for the country. The question is what are the people doing for the country ? Please tell your friend to stay and help improve our country. She can do that by lending her expertise to the society that needs her

Where is the job in Nigeria? And may I ask who is going to pay for those services?

I'm not married yet but engaged to this lovely and respectable man. We both live in UK with his parents in Nigeria and mine in London. I call his parents from time to time and we relate well.
I was even surprised when his mum was the first person to call me on my birthday and she rings me at least once a week to pray for us. He also call my parent every week to say hello.

Not all in-laws are bad. Mine are cool. My mother in- law to be acts like she's my mum and I've not even set my eyes on her yet smiley smiley but i can't wait to see her

This one actually happened in winter 2002, i was going out and whole area was

flooded with snow and my shoe was slippery because i wasn't wise enough to

put on good shoes.

I was just praying to make it to my bus stop, i just went down, slippering on the

floor, getting almost to the bus stop, everyone was laughing and there was this

black guy that i thought should help me but he just kept laughing as well so as

soon as i got near the stop, don't forget i'm still slippering.

I just pulled the guy and he ended up on the floor as well and by the time we

got to a junction, I landed on him, hoping he would give me a kiss, hell no, he

started cursing me in yoruba and as a yoruba girl I just gave it back to him and

he said he was sorry, if he knew i was nigeria, he would have helped.

By the time we got up, our bus was arriving and we couldn't run again or

else, , you all know what will happen. Everybody in the bus were laughing

and pointing at us.

Since then, during winter, i've worn good boots. embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed

It was my 3rd week in London and my lovely dad thought I should have known

the way to and fro woolwich and I thought yeah I should know.

He sent me to woolwich and as I was coming back, I got on bus 472 instead of

422. Anyways, the bus got to its last stop and i was thinking, where is my

house. Fortunately, the driver was nigerian and he asked me to get down and I

said I 've not reached where I was going.

He now asked me to describe the shops around my house which I did and he

was like, you live in Plumstead not Thamesmead and said 'you just came from

Nigeria? and I was so embarassed' so he gave me some money to get my ass

back to woolwich and home.

I got home and dad was ranting abt how long it took me to get back so i now

told him what happened, instead of him to be sympathetic, he was laughing his

ass off.
