Religion / GMD Suru Group, Edward Akinlade Embraces His Divine Calling, Kicks Off 3a.m Dail by DebbyJose: 9:14am On Jun 16, 2021
Group Managing Director of a leading conglomerate in Nigeria, Suru Group, Edward Akinlade has revealed God’s plan to change the political and economic narrative of the nation Nigeria, through a divinely conceived spiritual instruction by God to him, and has urged Nigerians to key into the cause as a matter of necessity to save Nigeria from the clutches of disintegration.

In a press conference held at his Maryland Office in Lagos, Rabbi Edward Akinlade revealed his spiritual mandate to commence on 3 am to 4 am prayer session every day and converge believers from across the nation and Nigerians in diaspora, in intense prayer for one hour.

Rabbi Edward Akinlade while speaking with newsmen revealed how God directed him, while he was observing the one hour prayer session, to carry on with that routine for one year, but instead he challenged himself to continue for as long as he lives.

SURU Express Plus Hotel
He said; my actions and inactions have always been a function of spiritual instruction from God. It was God who told me in 2006 to leave the UK and come to Nigeria to start my business. It was God who told me to dedicate the first day of every year to organise praise and worship events to usher myself into the New Year. Even amidst the challenge that Suru Group has been having with AMCON for some time, it has always been God who has kept us going. So occasionally God speaks to me.

In the advent of the new mandate. God made three covenants with me;

That I will pray 3 am every morning till I die;

That I will have power to call rain to fall and to stop the rain from falling, and

That I will have the power to throw Jonah into to ocean.

It is this prophetic injunction that births Holy Tabernacle Temple (HTT) of 3am daily prayer which will be holding session at 3am every day until Jesus come.

God said once we built the church, all the prayers made inside the building shall be answered.

According to God’s ordinance, the church shall be raised in 7 nations; Lagos, Abuja, Johannesburg, Frankfort in Germany, Dubai, London, and Houston Texas.

Speaking on why the peculiar church is set up at this time, Edward said God gave seven divine mandates for the 3 am church which include;

To worship Jehovah,
To preach the love of Jesus Christ
To preach the Messiah Jesus to 7Nations
Change Nigeria’s story and Nigerians through 3 am daily prayers
To alleviate the suffering of Nigerians through giving so as to make Nigeria a better place for coming generations and daily 3am prayers
To wage war against fake pastors and
To wage war against bad leaders.
He urged Nigerians to key into the 3 am fellowship to take Nigeria into the country of our dream.

Politics / Buhari Is A Purveyor Of Macabre Who Doesn't Want Farmers-herders Conflict To End by DebbyJose: 2:31pm On Jun 14, 2021
BUHARI IS A PURVEYOR OF MACABRE WHO DOESN'T WANT FARMERS-HERDERS CONFLICT TO END ANYTIME SOON.
(Kay Aderibigbe)
Nigeria, of recent mysteriously became a country that is uniquely in a league of its own. This awareness dawns on the people whenever they expect an action or authoritative statement from the commander-in-chief, but oftentimes, all they get to hear is "the presidency says . .". This made some of us, who do not indulge in speculations, purposely and reluctantly, to synonymize the term 'presidency' with the word 'president' in order that we might move on with our lives.
The truth between these terms was eventually revealed on the 10th of June, 2021, when Arise Television, a media house based in Lagos, granted an exclusive interview to President Muhamadu Buhari; where he, Mr. Buhari, spoke in the manner that is typical of those that have been speaking on his behalf since 2015.
The important question of Farmers-herders conflict asked Mr. Buhari by one of the presenters was answered with so much riddle wrapped up in an enigma. Having sarcastically and jokingly retorted that the interviewer wanted him to contradict his AGF- Attorney General of the Federation; the President then went into an obviously inconsequential and unconnected illustration to justify his answer.
A simple breakdown of Mr. Buhari's reply on how Nigeria government can nip in the bud the menace of the gun-wielding Fulani herders is that, he tasked the state Governors to conjure or invent the powers they do not have; whereas, such exercise will simply exacerbate the current security crisis. What is the fuss about cattle rearing business and why are the herders always at loggerheads with the farmers? Why the incessant crisis? What is the mystery behind this national question?.
For the sake of good governance, students of politics and those whose right to study history has been taken away, we may need to dissect the issue of Farmers-herders crisis in order that my readers can understand the problem and infer from my analysis: who has the right to say what and to what extent, on the perennial problem of Farmers-herders crisis.
Let's start with the evolution of the concept of grazing reserves/routes and how it became an issue of concern. Originally, grazing reserves were areas earmarked for the feeding of cattle by the Fulanis who conquered and ruled Northern Nigeria. This concept received the colonial government's attention in 1950, when Mr. Hamisu Kano put forward an idea which became known as the 'Fulani Amenities Proposal' in 1954.
Ten years later, the federal government had, in the name of the proposal, gazetted 3.4 million hectares of forest reserves in Sokoto, kabba, Bauchi, Zaria, Katsina and Ilorin as grazing reserves (Hector and oladunjoye,1970). Semiarid zones of the present day Zamfara, and Wase, in plateau state, were also captured in the forest reservations of the grazing plan.
All efforts to improve the Fulani man’s welfare through the transformation of the herd business culture informed Northern Nigeria’s Law no 4 of 1965 which gave birth to the Grazing reserve Laws of Northern Nigeria (Fatai Rotimi A. Williams, 1969). The totality of the government's investment in establishing land security for nomadic Fulani settlement was contained in all the development plans executed by the General Yakubu Gowon’s administration(1966 -1975).
Despite the magnitude of government’s commitment towards the sedentarization of the nomadic pastoralists, the Fulanis couldn’t attain equilibrium in their productivity; follow the tide of time of modernization and change their mentality; nor ensure self-sustainability of the facilities contained in the grazing reserves acquired and developed by the government which was later handed over to them.
One of the veritable cases was that of the Wase Grazing Reserve, established in Plateau state, in 1965, which has 74,000 hectares capacity; all facilities inclusive -school, market, hospital e.t.c. This vast land was overwhelmed in 1975, due to the failure of the land tenure scheme (Hurumi in Fulfulde language); despite the joint venture of the Federal government of Nigeria and U.S.A.I.D. Abandonment of grazing facilities also happened in Sokoto, Bauchi and other places across the country.
Another problem with the said gazetted grazing routes is the failure of the government to secure legal title and fair compensation for the indigenous land owners. I explained this important problem elsewhere, in 2019,in an article titled "Farmers-herders crisis: one of the agonizing features of a dysfunctional state", where I highlighted that . . . "Politicians stole the compensation money meant for the indigenous land owners,re-appropriated the same grazing reserves to themselves as farm lands and also declared that pastoralists have routes for cattle in places where there were and places where there was none."
Each time pastures dried up in the reserves, herders wander into agricultural farmlands in order to ensure the survival of their stock. Also, due to overpopulation and land scarcity, there has definitely been some incursions into the reserves over the years by some agronomists. Some of which are original\indigenous land owners who were robbed by the state in the name of the Grazing Reserves, while some of them are new farmers whose old vocations were rendered unlucrative due to economic retrogression. Apparently, there will be confrontation between agronomists and pastoralists in this manner.
Against the above backdrop, the Land Use Act of 1978, in connection to other land tenure problematic factors made certain, without ambiguity, in Sec 2(1) (a) and (b) that, "the management and control of all lands in urban areas is under the sole control of the Governor of each state". Having clarified earlier that the Grazing Reserve Law was birthed in the North and was meant for the Northerners, it then becomes imperative that we expatiate the position of the Land Use Act in relation to the President’s statement and herdsmen overlordship of lands in Nigeria, viz-a-viz the Asaba Declaration of May 11, 2021 through which all the 17 Governors of Southern Nigerian unanimously banned open grazing in all the states of the South.
Mr. Buhari, who resorted to asking his unintelligent Attorney General of the Federation to dig up old gazette did not know much about the treachery and frauds with which some of the acquired grazing reserves were established nor did he understood the details of the Northern Nigerian Grazing Reserve Law and its limitations. Little wonder he spewed political venom and created more confusion instead of reasoning along the line of cultural emancipation of ranching that sought to ameliorate the lot of the Fulani herdsmen.
Since the ideas of Cow Colony, RUGA – Rural Grazing Areas, and the National Grazing Reserve (Establishment) Bill of 2017 were all defeated on the floor of the National Assembly, Mr. Buhari thought the gazetted lands would host his brainchild, i.e. the idea of NLTP - National Livestock Transformation Plan, in all the states of the federation. This is absolutely unrealistic because only the North is subject to the grazing law which could be exploited for this purpose. Moreover, the Land Use Act in Sec 28(2)(b) talks about the condition under which the federal government can acquire land. In addition to this, Sec 51(1)(a) - (h) explains in detail the meaning of 'to put land to public use' and it does not, via any wording, mean, to exclusively appropriate land for a particular section of the Nigerian society and their private businesses.
In fact, if by the virtue of admonition of peace and national tolerance, some Southern states are willing to allow the NLTP, there is an illuminator in that regard, i.e. the Land use Act which already made an irrefragable provision in Sec 6(2) that "no single customary right of occupancy shall be granted respect of an area of land in excess of 500 hectares if granted for agricultural purposes, or 5,000 hectares if granted for grazing purposes".
Summarily, the manner in which the federal government of Mr.Buhari is going about the issue of farmers and herders leaves so much to be desired. Looking at the enormity of landed resources and availability of hundreds of thousands of hectares in the North, why is Mr. Buhari bent on stuffing the already overwhelmed and overpopulated South with those aggressive and chronic conservative nomads who are known for violence and land trespassing?
For instance, the Global Terrorism Index Report (2020), puts it clear that, herdsmen killed about 2,400 people between January and November. Over 300,000 people have been displaced; while more middle-aged people are injured casualties of these attacks within that same period. This is rather unacceptable, ungodly and totally unhealthy for the political and economic well being of any progress seeking society.
This matter is generic; it is volatile, and it is an important problem that should be handled seriously by the governors of Southern Nigeria and all lovers of democracy so that tyranny would not triumph against the wishes of the people.
As long as Mr. president couldn't proffer a lasting solution to the issue of farmers-herders conflict, but rather stands as a stumbling block to those who are trying to ensure there is peace and progress; it means, President Buhari is either a trouble maker, an irredentist ethnic jingoist, whose action doesn’t make him any better than the so called secessionist agitators he criticizes today. Or he is either a secret missionary who doesn't want the herders-farmers conflict to end probably because he needs the instrument of crisis or societal unrest to propagate a sort of preconceived negative social re-engineering in order to actualize a certain hidden personal agenda. Education / EDWIIN, SBS, Others Launch Online Educational Platform "I- Africa School" by DebbyJose: 12:19pm On May 27, 2021
Dealing with COVID-19’s debilitating impact on education, several non-governmental organisations, NGOs, involved in dispensing education to rural and economically backward children adopted online teaching methods to ensure continuity in education.

For the not-for-profits involved, the switch resulted in developing innovations in their out-reach formats as well as curriculums to meet the challenges of their far-reaching grassroots movement

It is in this line, that renowned Inclusive advocate, EDWIIN, partnered with Standard Bearers Schools, The Navigators Nigeria, Rice and beans soup kitchen, and EduReform team., and announced the launch of i-Africa School, an online training platform created and optimised for smartphones and available for free learning.

The convener of EDWIIN, Uri Ngozichukwuka speaking with newsmen at the official launch on Thursday, May 27, 2021.stated that her NGO volunteered to partner with other inclusive platforms, after seeing the need to “step up” an e-learning initiative to create simplified learning platforms for all children of various classes with the i-Africa School initiative.

As an inclusive advocate, she said displaced or disabled people, all members of the global education system must be taken into account. She reaffirmed her commitment to the right to education for all.

“Poverty must no longer deprive children of education. Gender, geography, disability, ethnicity, language, religion are all factors of exclusion. Yet today, according to the 2021 UNESCO Report Inclusion and Education, less than one in ten countries had laws that help ensure full inclusion in education. This is why we need to take this project seriously” She added

Modupe Oni, renowned educator and the administrator of Standard Bearers Schools, Lekki, who spearheads the i-Africa initiative also added that i-Africa will offer a global platform that would meet the specific needs of African populations, elementary and basic school.

“We want our children to be able to rely on online training to provide a basic curriculum and we target more students in the rural areas. We also want to make sure that students will also be able to take these classes on a personal basis and obtain an online certificate of participation after the sessions,” she continued.

“It is a big step forward, with the African basic schools, which have the potential to positively impact training and thus employment in our countries.”

“We are proud to contribute to this project, which tackles the issue of education for all, combining best practices in digital technology and a new learning experience using ICT”, she said.

Education / Renowned Educator, Dupe Oni Sues For Digital Adjustment In Nigerian Schools by DebbyJose: 4:55pm On May 22, 2021
Renowned Educator, Modupe Adeyinka - Oni has called on parents, and government and concerned stakeholders to work jointly to prepare the Nigerian children for their future of work.

She made this known during her media tour to top Lagos Radio Stations on Saturday, May 22, 2021. According to Modupe, the millennials and Generation Z children across the world are naturally wired to think and act differently and the need to understand and adjust the Nigerian child to fit into the future has become imminent.

“The world economic forum once said primary schools are preparing young children for jobs that don't exist today.

“So the whole paradigm has to shift from knowledge-based to skills and competency. But there's a big resistance from parents because they want the books, they want to see what their children have written. But the whole concept has changed. “It's no longer about what they have written but what they imbibe and what they feel in their souls. And so we have to prepare our parents to help prepare the children because the future of work is so different, it's technology-based and all our children have to fit in.”, she said

Considering the core values of the school amidst the changing climes and the effects of Covid, Modupe said that social distancing forced schools around the world into the tech space they had been resisting.
“It has opened our eyes to prepare our children which incidentally is our greatest human resources for a different type of classroom engagement.

“We have discovered that it is better for the children to be mentally engaged through 'doing' and not just to be given information, they need to be involved in their learning process. We understand now just like parents globally that dialogue is a very important classroom activity, we can no longer tell them to shut up or keep quiet anymore, rather we must answer their questions which is the way for Inquiry to be developed. We need to encourage them by our responses to thinking deeply about their question and answers.

“And that's how we are developing their problem solving, inquiry and critical thinking skills that they need because that's what the future is all about for them.

She also hinted at the best way for schools to engage in Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR activities, and advised that private schools in Nigeria should adopt the low-income schools around them, she believes that it is important to bridge the gap between the elitist school and the community schools. "We have to come up with community programs that will promote this and empower all the children."

“There are new values our schools can add in terms of child nurturing and cultural values. Right now we know that our children are digital natives, and so we have to understand how we engage them using the digital tools that they are already wired to use. Their memory can take pictures of everything but it doesn't mean the child has learnt anything.
“Standard Bearers Schools is introducing the use of podcast into the community. We are incorporating podcast because one of the things we found out when we returned to physical school was parents saying to us that after the day of working with them, they couldn’t deal with the idea of bedtime stories, so we decided to turn that into a product, so we are going to have a podcast where we are reading the bedside story to children thereby freeing up the time for busy parents to unwind while helping their children get into bed on time.
She also advised that the teachers, in this digital age, should come into the class with an open mind and be ready to teach and also learn along with their children. They have to understand that everything they learned in their universities and colleges school of education is changing fast, age differences should be put aside at this critical time as we all focus on becoming lifelong learners.
“We are in a time where everybody is a life-long learner, so teachers need to go into the classroom environment and mentally subject themselves to learning along with the children. As a new teacher making the personal connection with your class makes the job a little easier; I tell my teachers "if your children are not talking about you at home. If they cannot evoke 'the gospel according to Ms this or Mrs .... you haven't connected. We are dealing with the Z- Generation and there’s nothing we can do as educators, but to meet them in their own space while learning to speak their language. Teachers need to understand what the future is for the children and what they are preparing to fit into in that future.” she stated
She talked about her school raising Godly-Tech-savvy children stating that Standard Bearers Schools is a faith-based nursery and primary school. "We teach about faith not just through reading the bible but through all digital tools to guide and develop the minds of the young children using the 7 habits children's programme called 'Leader in Me'. We make morality a culture for them. Even when they graduate, we still relate with them as a family, being that we have an open-door policy for them."
Dupe Oni is one of the very few women who have helped shape the society we live in today, using the most powerful tool available: Education. Mrs Dupe saw the 21st-century shift in perspective about education and technology as a tool for socio-economic relevance in the evolving digital space, which opened opportunities for people in the tech-compliant space and she’s been at the forefront of the campaign for digital skills

“when the time comes, come out and vote en masse for the ruling party, so that more dividends of democracy can come to our constituency.

Family / Re: Report, Resolutions And Recommendations Of The Odumakin’s Accountability Resolut by DebbyJose: 6:18pm On May 21, 2021
RESOLUTIONS OF THE OARC
Aggregation of the above findings through the documentary and the oral evidences, results in what forms the committee’s resolution as highlighted below:
1. That the aggregation of misappropriation of the fund collected by or donated to Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamji and Solomon Sobade led MPC are sustainable and sustained by available evidence and facts ,capable of establishing fraud
2. That the activities of the MPC was/is needless based on the press release by the family of the deacesed
3. That the available facts and evidence are sufficient to resonate the allegations of financial misappropriation against the MPC and its anchors ;Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamji and Solomon Sobade.
4. That from all available evidences and facts, the actual expenditures shouldn’t be more than N2,000,000.00 (two million naira) only as maximum total of the expenses
5. That from paragraph 4 above and going by the actual income and expenditures analyzed by proffessionals for and on behalf of the OARC, the sum of N7,995,000.00(seven million nine hundred and ninety five thousand) only could not be accounted for by the MPC led by Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamji and Solomon Shobade.
6. That the sum unaccounted for appears to be the sum allegedly misappropriated, perhaps deliberately and not by mistakes ,or.act of GOD.
7. That these resolutions form the basis of the following Recommendations by this committee viz:
RECOMMENDATIONS BY THE ODUNMAKI’S ACCOUNTABILITY RESOLUTION COMMITTEE(OARC)
1. That Messers Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamji and Solomon Sobade and co be held accountable for the sum of N7,995,000 (seven million nine hundred and ninety five thousand)only unaccounted for by the MPC .
2. That Messers Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamji and Solomon Sobade be brought to book for their involvements in MOC culminating in the alleged frauds , to serve as deterrent to others, and of cause , for rehabilitative purposes for them.
3. That Messers Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamiji and Solomon Sobade should apologize to the CSOs worldwide, having taken responsibilities for their actions, as the anchors of the mismanagement of funds belonging to the family of the dead or at least the household of the CSOs.
4. That for the same purpose in paragraph 2 above ,Messers Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamiji and Solomon Sobade and others be suspended from holding any executive position of any CSOs, local or global until purged of their misdeed.
5. That Messers Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamiji and Solomon Sobade be banned from representing the CSOs in raising fund for any of the CSOs events ,including such like the upcoming June 12 memorial
6. That Messers Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamiji and Solomon Sobade should refund the sum of N7,995,000.00 (seven million nine hundred and ninety five thousand)only to the family of Yinka Odunmakin, where it traditionally, customarily ,legally and lawfully belong.
7 A The OARC further reasons , that where Messers Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamiji and Solomon Sobade and other failed , refused or neglected to act in consonance with paragraphs (1 and 6)above that:
.i The CSOs has the right to press a report for fraud and financial misappropriation against them with any of the law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute them .
ii.The CSOs , or through the ORC, in the event that the concerned law enforcement agency refuses to prosecute them, institutes a case for mandamus for the court to compel the agency to prosecute them.
iii.The CSOs can give the know your rights initiative, to pursue its petition with the fcid alagbon ,and or note that the said refusal or neglect above automatically robes any aggrieved person within or outside the CSO with the latitude to take legal action(s) against any or all of the three involved

3.AWA BAMIJI’S SENT POSTS TO THE ODUNMAKIN’S ACCOUNTABILITY FORUM AS DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE
The committee considered the posts sent to the Odunmakin Accountability Platform ( OAP) of which he was an active party, before and during the innaguration and maiden sitting of the ORC after which he exited two days of the sitting of same. Thus lending credence to the fact that he was/ is a subscriber to same
Upon thourough and copious study of the posts, the following form the findings of the OARC
a. That Awa Bamiji , in part ,subscribe to have imperfectly handled part of the event of the MPC
b. That he directly accused Wale Okunniyi of fraud
c. That he seems to have been disgruntled against Wale Okunniyi because the later ,according to him " messed things or him up"
d. that when Comrade Bayo Ogunleye asked him to account for the sum of N250.000:00 and N 350,000:OO he was said to have personally collected but un accounted for . ,he avoided him and till date never responded to same, his immediate exist from the Odunmakin accountability platform OAP was suspected by many to be linked to the likelihood of the ORC treating this N600,000:00
e. That by paragraph (a-d ), Awa Bamiji appears to have been part of the misappropriation alleged against MPC .
THE PRESS RELEASE BY ODUNMAKIN’S FAMILY DATED APRIL 21ST 2021
The concise and deliberation on the press release give the ORC the following findings:
The Essence of this is to Constitute A Caveat To The World at Large, That;
(1) No person, individual or group, should have idea of arranging another programme
(2) No body, however, whatever or wherever should engage in soliciting for donations of money for the sake of the burial rites for comrade Yinka Odumakin
(3) Anyone that does so does it at variance with the dictates of the Yoruba custom contained in the adages “oni nkan lan je ose” and “bi o ba ti se wu ni lan se imale eni” and “a ki mo oso ju iya oso.
(4)That all fund already raised,(by such others , beside the family), by extension, be returned or sent to the family.
The caveat, which , if properly read and cogitated, translated to a disclaimer of anyone or body group going about soliciting for fund for the burial of comrade Yinka Odunmakin.
The OARC invited the following comrades for interview on issues relevant to the terms of reference.
1. Com Declan
2. Com Wale Okunniyi
3. Com Awa Bamji
4. Com Solomon Shobade
5. Com Ade Ikuesan
6. Com Owonifari Rasheed
Also, members of the ORC with helpful information, as eye witnesses, were urged by the committee to specially address the ORC
These committee members are:
1. Comrade Soloki Gbenga
2. Comrade Elijah Ojo
INVITEES THAT HONOURED THE INVITATION
The invited comrades that honoured, in full or in part, the invitation by the ORC are:
1. Comrade Declan ; full
2. Comrade Ade Ikuesan ; full
3. Comrade Awa Bamji_; partly
OARC’S FINDINGS FROM ORAL EVIDENCE
From the testimonies of those that honored the committee’s invitation, the following facts emerge:
1. That all the sub committees set up by the Wale Okunniyi led MPC for Comrade Yinka Odunmakin's burial were on paper rather than functional, deliberately made redundant by the anchors; Wale Okunniyi & co.
2. That there was no accommodation paid for by the members of the MPC. His imperial majesty the Oni of ife had freely provided about 14 rooms apartment for guests. In fact oral evidence attested to the fact that many delegates slept on the open field.
3. That guests at the event were not more than 200 as against the 1,000 the MPC claimed they provided for
4. That the food was served to guests once and to selected people loyal to the anchors of the MPC.
5. That because of wanton neglect, and reckless abandonment of delegates from Lagos, many, but for timely intervention of other older delegates, wanted to mob Wale Okunniyi (who was alleged to have been drunk around the time).
6. That Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamji and Solomon Sobade spent part of the fund for personal aggrandizement, for instance, they lodged in special hotels in Lagos and Ife
7. That Wale Okunnyi did not attend the actual burial of the deceased, strange indeed. Then why did he go ? You may ask.
8. That the T-shirts, round neck polo distributed were not more than about 200 pieces, the same goes for the nose masks ( packed in one carton of gala)
9. That Wale Okuunnyi distributed N3,000:00 (three thousand naira) to his apologists about 40 of them for the reason best known to him
10a.That N20,000.00 (Twenty thousand naira)only was given to a comrade named Declan to fuel and repaired his pilot car(To carry the T- shirts and other materials to Ife and Moro with passengers as well) and another N30,000.00(Thirty thousand naira)only promised him for being ”a devoted comrade” out of which N20,000.00 Twenty thousand naira)was paid , he asked them for the rationale behind the second payment and when he discovered element of misappropriation, he rejected it.
10 b.That against the culture and tradition of Yoruba land the MPC refused and neglected, deliberately, to give a substantial amount of the fund to the deceased family .
11.That the fact revealed that a dignified Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) counseled that, since or once the family had made a press release against any one or group sourcing for fund for their son’s burial, the already gotten fund(s) should be sent to the family .
12.That this prudent counsel, supported by another veteran, was tactically avoided by Wale Okunniyi and others depicting a seeming ulterior motive behind the MPC. Little wonder the alleged misappropriations
13.That the genesis of Awa Bamjis grievance with Wale Okunniyi started from the point the latter allegedly inflated the cost of the T-shirts procured for the event.

1,Income/expenditure Analysis
2.The Budget
3.Posts.sent by Awa Bamiji
4. Resolution sent by Wale Okunniyi
5.The Press release by the Odumakin Family
THE ORC’S FINDINGS DEDUCED FROM THE DOCUMENTERY EVIDENCE.

1. BUDGET, INCOME AND EXPENDITURE ANALYSIS.
A thorough and analytical perusal and considerations of the three documents reveal the following.
2.FINDINGS CONSEQUENT ON WALE OKUNNIYI RESOLUTION SENT BY HIM TO THE COMMITTEE.
The committee, upon dialectical perusal and appraisal of the Resolution discovered ;
i. That he, comrade Wale Okunniyi, accepted total responsibilities of all that emanated from the MPC he led therefore, and by extension the allegations of misappropriation, fraud or fraudulent practice oozing from same .
ii. That there was /is nowhere found in the resolution, where he was, strictly speaking, absolved of any of the allegations, in paragraph i, levied against him, Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamji and Solomon Sobade.
iii. That the said resolution’s main thrust is that the CSO should “avoid washing their dirty linen in the public”.
iv. That an observer of the meeting resulting to the said resolution ,attested to the fact that the "veterans" scolded Wale Okunniyi and reprimanded him and others of mismanagement ,misappropriation etc viz a viz the MPC
v. That the fact that:
a. The resolution does not decide on guilt or acquittal, which the whole body of the CSOs is interested in, the resolution is at variance with the doctrine of justice, legality, Rule of law and Constitutionality.
b. The zoom meeting from which the resolution received its bearing or mandate was convened by Wale Okunniyi, the ”crown witness ” in the barrages of allegations, lends a vitiating effect to the credibility of the resolution as offending the principle of fair hearing and natural justice i.e Nemo Judex in Causa Sua _”No one should be made a judge in his cause (to avoid bias) and Audi alterem partem_that is; “Hear the other party” (fair hearing) thus escapulating the extent of illegality inherent in wanting to take the resolution as reality of the present allegations against Wale Okunmuyi and others.
c. the aggrieved parties are still agitating for justice ,renders the Resolution nugatory and unacceptable as the final terminus of the present state of things on the allegations in question.
Family / Re: Report, Resolutions And Recommendations Of The Odumakin’s Accountability Resolut by DebbyJose: 6:17pm On May 21, 2021
Be that as it may, and in the process of performing the aforementioned burial rite, and particularly regarding who takes "full" and sole charge of the whole program for the burial rites, the deceased's family intimated the whole world vide the press release dated April, 21. 2021 they shall ,and had actually take full, sole and entere charge of the burial rites of their son, and this , to the exclusion of other (s) ,however close .
The Essence of this is to Constitute A Caveat To The World at Large, That;
(1) No person, individual or group, should have idea of arranging another programme
(2) No body, however, whatever or wherever should engage in soliciting for donations of money for the sake of the burial rites for comrade Yinka Odumakin
(3) Anyone that does so does it at variance with the dictates of the Yoruba custom contained in the adages “oni nkan lan je ose” and “bi o ba ti se wu ni lan se imale eni” and “a ki mo oso ju iya oso.”
The caveat, which , if properly read and cogitated, translated to a disclaimer of anyone or body group going about soliciting for fund for the burial of comrade Yinka Odunmakin.
Despite the caveat or the disclaimer afforested, some crop of the CSOs, in Nigeria, went ahead and solicited for fund and arrogated right of spending same to themselves without any recourse to the general body of the Nigerian CSOs ,strictly speaking.
Their actions, seemed a parallel programme , in apparent contradiction to that of the family and expressly against the wish, will and aspiration of the decease family and in a serious tone, perhaps, against the will, wishes desires and aspiration of the deceased thus amounting to a great disservice to the decease family and of the deceased himself ,which might be impregnated. with visible and invisible consequences .for only the CREATOR knows whether the dead fights or not
THE EMMERGING SCENARIOS FROM THE MYSTEREOUS DONATIONS
The conveners of the other program or event aside from, and parallel to that of the family ,traiding under the aegis ;Memorial Planning Committee(Hereinafter referred to as MPC) for Odumakin’s burial are Messes (Comrades) Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamji and Sobade Solomon.
They did a lot for the MPC to get fund and they broadcasted vide social media what they did, they and would have been at rest by now were it not for the dust raised and allegations of mismanagement of public fund and fraudulent practices arising from the income and expenditures analysis they prepared and presented to the ,, and upon request by the CSO, consequent on barrages of allegations here and there against them and their MPC.
1.The fact that they claim(ed) to have represented (though unadvisedly ,or without express authority by same) the CSOs, made the same to take the gauntet and frantic efforts to delve into the whole issues to unearth the bearing ,burden and location of the allegations and dispense justice quickly and accordingly .
2.Individual group, like know your rights initiative , an NGO ,through his Convener ; comrade Segun Adeeko, wrote a petition to the fcid Alagbon.
3.Then, and finally, the cohesive and unifying platform tagged Odunmakin Accountability Platform was floated. The forum or platform boasting of men of great repute amongst the local and global CSOs, like Mike Ezekhome SAN, Femi Falana SAN, Ebun Ade Onaghoruwa SAN, Buska Buska SAN, Biodun Sowunmi, Barr. Monday Ubanni, Barr. Osagie Obayuwana, Lanre Arogundade ,Barr. Femi Aborishade, Abiodun Aremu, Dr Okei Odumakin ,Dr Yinusa Salisu Tanko, Amitolu Shittu, Erelu Oodua Onanneye, Bayo Ogunleye, HRH Eze Obi , Segun Adeeko,Ade Ikuesan , Soloki Gbenga Moses, Barr.Taiwo Hassan Bello, Princess Edo, Bola Olanrewaju, Ras Innovator, Elijah Ajonu Ojo, ,Ola ONI (Junior), Otunba Mark Adesanya and many great others who are proven ,tested and seasoned Comrades who have hazarded their lives on the platform of making the world , Afrika and Nigeria haven of democratization of governance and complete adherence to the RULE OF LAW & CONSTITUTIONALISM.
Family / Report, Resolutions And Recommendations Of The Odumakin’s Accountability Resolut by DebbyJose: 6:16pm On May 21, 2021
The CSOs WORLD WIDE,
The CSOs AFRICA,
The CSOs NIGERIA ,
We, the members of the above named committee, wish to express our profound gratitude to you all, for the confidence reposed in us to steer the tide of the upsurge challenges that visited the CSOs , from the global level down to the local level, by the allegations of misappropriation of fund donated for the burial rites for comrade Yinka Odumakin, which allegations lie at the door steps of comrades Wale Okunnyi , Awa Bamji and Solomon Sobade and co, allegations, which were so dire and great , to have left the simple offence of misappropriation and assume the magnitude of fraudulence and financial malpractices
BRIEF INTRODUCTION; Yinka Odumakin, a beloved and active member of Nigeria, West Africa, Africa and universal CSOs; ebullient in civil crusading for social justice, undoubting in agitation, unrepentant in the strive for structural adjustment for the goodness of the downtrodden and indefatigably down to earth in activism, passed on at a prime age of 55years when his activism was rising to its horizon and pinnacle . The suddenness of his demise, at a prime age, and when rising to the zenith of his activistic agitations for the actualization of his dreamed Nigeria nay black race, makes his exit painful and unbearable to right thinking members of the Civil Society Organizations, making Friday the 2nd day of April, 2021, a shock to the whole world in general and to the “brethren” within his primary constituency, being the CSOs, in particular. Therefore, his was “an extinction of the ember of a luminous light, glowing towards its brightest, to brighten the corner of his generation”. By this simple fact, mourning, pensiveness and deep thoughtfulness are better to be the pictures of what his demise left behind , particularly so, that he left an aged father behind. So, then,, the CSOs, the world over, particularly in Nigeria, (including Messer’s Wale Okunniyi, Awa Bamiji, Solomon Sobade and Co) should be all out to portray to the whole world the stance that convey dignity, integrity and nobility as their last manifested respect and honor to Comrade Yinka Odumakin. Unfortunately, however, some pushed decency, decorum and dignity of the CSO to the background, used the occasion other sad exit of this great icon of activism, to corruptly enrich themselves. Painful, Putrefying and Pondering!!!
Be that as it may, since it is important that he must be committed to the mother earth, as nature and Yoruba tradition (where he belonged) demands, unlike in such other climes, like India, where they cremate their dead.
In the process of “putting ashes for ashes and dust for dust “ his corpse needed to be transported to his State, Osun, and his home town, Moro. These require people in attendance and fund to take care of them and all the necessities or necessaries associated with burial rites .
Aside the above, or in addition to same, once ,and however young he might seemed to be, he was still older than a lot of people from his immediate family, the extended family the comrades ,his friends and fiends( foes), who wished to grace the occasion of his burial; for a positive and otherwise reasons.
As is the practice in human circles, well-wishers voluntarily make donations of monies and materials ,directly to the family of the deceased as their contributions of last respect for the departed soul. The case with comrade Yinka Odumakin was not different from these natural tendencies and cultural values of the homosapiens.
A lot paid condolence visits or visitations to the immediate family and extended family of the departed comrade Yinka odumakin. In the process they made donations to ease the burden of expenses for his burial rite.
These donations(to the deceased family), however big or small by whoever person or personality,, by tradition, culture and custom belong entirely, completely and wholly to the deceased's family, and no one however big or small has the lawful or legal, constitutional, moral or amoral right to ask ,request or query the deceased family as to how such fund(s), donated for the burial of the deceased was/is expended, thus making any campaign of calumny, character asasination or defamation against the deceased family for collecting funds for and on behalf of the family and expending same the best way he/ she deems it fit to be in the best interest of giving the deceased a befitting burial ,without overlooking the fact that the deceased’s dependants will need something to fall back on ,after the burial, is a dastard act of ignobility ,impervious rascality and gangstaristic attitudinal act of garage touts , calculated at ridiculing the deceased and family , which commands the wrath of the Almighty GOD , and soul of the departed, making the actor to lose peace on earth and eternity, in life and death , for it says ;” THERE IS NO PEACE, SAYS THE LORD , WITH THE WICKED”. This is because doing so is not only arbitrative; it is infractious and corrosive to the custom and traditions of the Yoruba.

Politics / Lagos Apc Fetes Governor Sanwo-olu. by DebbyJose: 2:07pm On May 20, 2021
The Lagos State chapter of All Progressives Congress-APC celebrates the state governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu on the occasion of the second year anniversary of his administration. The Lagos State government has turned in an impressive mid-term report in spite of the unusual mammoth challenges occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic recession and the EndSars protest.

However, the unexpected setback and distractions have not derailed the Sanwo-Olu administration from the fulfilment of its electoral promises.

The early sign that Lagosians were in for a blissful four-year term was the well articulated THEMES agenda which remain the main thrust of the social contract between the people and the government.

The acronym, THEMES, captures the whole essence of the expectations of our teeming populace on the delivery of the proverbial dividend of democracy by the government they wholeheartedly entrusted with their mandate, secured future and general well-being.

THEMES which is the acronym for Traffic Management and Transportation, Health and Enviroment, Education and Technology, Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, Entertainment and Tourism and Governance and Security has become the marking scheme to access service delivery on the part of government and the fulfillment of its electoral promises.

Traffic management and Transportation is a major challenge of mega cities the world over due to the over 20 million population of citizens whose survival largely depends on unhindered intra-city transportation that has implications for their economic activities, health and security.

The state government availed itself of the three modes of transportation of roads, rail and waterways.

The State Government embarked on the massive construction and rehabilitation of roads and fulfilled its commitment to complete inherited projects.

Within the period under review, completed road projects included Oniru network network of roads, Ojokoro network of roads- 31 in number- the Pen Cinema fly-over, Agege, Oshodi/Abule-Egbe BRT corridor, Phases 1 & 2 of Badagry expressway, Lagos-Ogun boundary roads, 6 major junction improvements at Lekki1 & 2 , Ajah, Maryland, Ikotun and Allen Avenue. Jide Oki / Ade Adedina/ Olugbani streets in Iru/ Victoria Island, Ijegun-Egbe road and Ishuti road in Igando. St. Finbarrs road/Diya street in Yaba Iwaya road etc

216 inner roads in the 20 local governments and 37 LCDAs were rehabilitated.

On-going projects include the Lekki Regional Roads, Lekki-Epe expressway, Agric Isawo Road, Ikorodu, Bola Tinubu-Igbogbo-Imota Road, Ijede road, Oba Sekumade road and construction of 100 bus shelters, 78 of which have been completed.

The intra-city rail projects -the blue and the red lines- are priorities in the commitment to mass transportation across the state. The government has given firm promises for the completion of the rail projects in terms of the on the site progress report and realistic financial closure to underscore the optimism.

The completion of the Lagos Rail Mass (LRMT) Blue Line Project ( Mile 2 - Marina) and the Red Line will no doubt bring succor to the multitude of commuters across the state. The implications on the quality of life in terms of saved man hour and economic growth are unquantifiable.

In the past two years, the state government commissioned over 600 buses under the Bus Rapid Transport system, while it recently launched the 500 First and Last Mile Buses. The plan is to have in place 5000 FLM buses to cater for inner transportation and replace okada.

The waterways have become a safe and reliable mode of transportation since the inception of this administration.

LAGFERRY, the agency in charge of water transportation, has 20 ferries plying various routes in the state.

The agency has 15 jetties under construction to boost its operations. They are located in Apaa, Badagry, VIP chalet, Badagry, Italy, Ajido, Badagry, Ilado, Amuwo- Odofin, Ilashe, Ojo, Ito Omu, Epe, Offin, Ikorodu, Takwa Bay, Eti-osa, Ijede waterfront, Ikorodu, Marina waterfront, Badagry, Oke-Ira Nla, Eto-Osa, Liverpool, Apapa, Ebute-ero, Lagos Island, Mile 2, Ijegun-Egba, Ojo.

The construction of a command and control center for the waterways and the procurement of search and rescue boats are geared towards safety on our waterways.

The Lagos State government has over-hauled its health facilities in response to prevailing and future challenges.

The Covid-19 pandemic threw spanners into all areas of human endeavor across the globe.

Lagos State as the epicenter of the pandemic had to respond to the enormous challenge which earned it applause across the globe.

The pandemic which crept in as the government was settling down, showcased the governor as a great manager of human and material resources. He displayed the expected political will to lead from the front and ensured the provision of the wherewithal to curtail the pandemic and reduce its impact.

The constant communication with the people through direct regular briefings went a long way to reassure the citizens and built the much desired confidence.

It is note-worthy and symbolic that the governor was also a victim of Covid-19 to under-score his enormous commitment and sacrifice at a great personal risk for the well-being of the citizens.

Despite walking an unfamiliar path of managing a pandemic, hitherto unknown in this century, he excelled to the admiration of his most uncharitable critic.

His performance has not only become a reference point but also a manual in top-notch management of a pandemic.

Most importantly, the good news is that Lagos State government is now better equipped and prepared to manage such challenges in future in terms of technical know-how and availability of requisite infrastructure.

The state government under the auspices of the Medical Project Implementation Unit (MPIU) has commenced the upgrade of infrastructure in the state-owned facilities to build resilient health-care and increase the residents’ access to quality universal health coverage.

The implementation of the health projects cut across the primary, secondary and tertiary health-care system.

In the last two years, the government has completed and equipped 2 Maternal and Childcare Centers (MCC) in Eti-Osa and Badagry. Another 110-bed MCC has been recently completed in Epe.

Among others, the government renovated the Mainland hospital in Yaba with a future plan to converting it to an Institute of Research for Infectious Diseases.

The general hospitals at Apapa, Harvey road , Yaba , Isolo, Odan and Ebutte-Metta health Centre were renovated for accessible health care delivery.

Presently, a 280 bed general hospital in Ojo and 150 bed New Massey Street Children’s hospital are under construction.

The construction of a 1,500 bed Psychiatric Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre at Ajidun has also been approved.

The state government in collaboration with the private sector has completed and handed over an oxygen plant at the Mainland and Gbagada General Hospitals. In the same vein, Triage and Oxygen Centres in 10 locations across the state have been delivered.

The welfare of health-care workers has also received attention with the construction of a 24 unit Doctors and Staff Quarters at Gbagada General Hospital.

At inception, the issue of the enviroment was a major challenge to the Sanwo -Olu administration.

In two years, the state government has been able to re-energize and re- organize the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Private Sector Participation in Refuse disposal for cleaner Lagos.

The government launched the LAWMA Academy and

expanded the Olusosun Dumpsite to 42 acres to accommodate more waste and ensure that trucks can have a quicker turnaround time.

The state government constructed collector drains at various locations across the state.

Trapezoidal channels and collector drains were also constructed to check the menace of incessant flooding.

Education and Technology take a prime position in the present administration. The state government is of the view that quality education is germane to the execution of its various developmental agenda.

Till date, the Sanwo -olu administration has completed 1,097 projects in 970 schools across the state.

The government has provided blocks of classrooms, administrative offices, school furniture , laboratories and modern toilet facilities across the six Education Districts.

3000 teachers at both primary and secondary schools, were recruited and trained to join the State teaching workforce while those already in service were developed through continuous training to update their skills and knowledge with modern technology.

The state government signed an agreement with six private investors for the proposed LASU 8,272- units hostel.

The government implemented a 3,000km of metro fibre connection across the state to promote security. It also provided a fully digital mapping platform and an integrated end to end land administration system which includes integrated land automation system.

The Lagos State Science Research and Innovation Council (LASRIC), with start-up funds of $687,000 to drive investment in research and development of tech-focused solutions across the six pillars of the administration’s THEMES agenda was set up.

In two years, the Lagos State government has delivered 14 housing schemes, adding 7,000 affordable housing units to reduce deficit in the sector.

The projects which are situated across the state include Lateef Jakande Gardens , Igando, Lagos State Affordable Public Housing Scheme, Idale Badagry, LagosHoms Lekki Phase 2 and Babatunde Raji Fashola Estate, Courtland Villas, Igbokushu.

Other recently completed schemes are located in Odo Onisarutu Ayandelu, Agbosasa, Magodo/Omole, Gbagada and Ibeshe.

It is note-worthy that the homes are for both low and high networth individuals. The Lagos Mortgage Board has strengthened the “Rent to Own” policy to provide many residents especially first-time home-owners with the desired opportunity.

There’s no gain- saying the commitment of the state government to grow the agricultural sector to promote food security. In line with this, the 5 years Agric road-map was launched.

879 farmers and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) benefited from the Lagos Agro-Processing, Prodctivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) project.

The government created the Eko Farmers’ Market to deliberately provide ready-made off-takers for farmers to dispose of their products on regular basis.

The Rice mill at Imota created 250,000 employment opportunities.

The government introduced a #1B Agric Value Chain Fund targeted at businesses that operate within the agric value chain. The EndSars protest, unfortunately , left in its wake unimaginable destruction and developmental set-back. The negative inpact of the pandemic on the economy and livelihood took a prime position of concern in the governance of the state.

Mr. Governor, rather than brood on the colossal losses rallied the citizenry to rebuild, regain and restore the state. The sheer audacity of the leadership naturally attracted support from all and sundry across the nation. The state is not only on course for restoration but looks to end up in the fullness of time like the proverbial palace destroyed by an inferno. The State Government has extended its milk of kindness to mitigate personal and corporate losses.

The Lagos State government underscored its humane nature with the various impactful empowerment and poverty alleviation programs.

3,673 businesses were supported with #1.156B and a plethora of interventions including grants, mentorship, business advisory, capacity building and market access opportunities.

1,835 businesses were supported with #939.97M and saved a total of 10,000 direct jobs and 40,020 indirect jobs via the MSME Recovery Fund which was an intervention program to cushion the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the EndSars protest.

The Lagos Economic Acceleration Programme (LEAP) to reduce the effects of the pandemic on small businesses.

A #5B EduFund in partnership with First Bank Plc and EdFin FMB and a #1B fund targeted at businesses in the tourism, hospitality, entertainment, arts and culture sectors was set up.

The security of lives and property of Lagosians remains one of the most important pillars of the THEMES agenda.

We acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the government towards tackling the challenge of insecurity in the state. It’s noteworthy that the novel Lagos State Security Trust Fund remains the rallying point for the provision of the requisite support for the security agencies in the state. The provision of operational vehicles , communication gadgets and other logistics has no doubt made Lagos State the safest in the country.

We align with the government efforts to tackle the menace of okada riders whose mode of operation, lawlessness, threat to lives and general well-being can no longer be tolerated. We affirm that true development can only be achieved in a stable , secured and peaceful environment.

We affirm that security and safety remain the business of all and sundry especially at a time like this. The commitment to increase the manpower of the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Watch and equip them accordingly is a step in the right direction.

The Lagos State government under Governor Jide Sanwoolu has become the reference point for good, focused, impactful, inclusive, responsible , responsive , innovative and humane governance.

We are indeed convinced that Lagos State is in safe hands.

He is indeed the man for the season.

As a party, we are proud that you have kept faith as our flag-bearer and on course to fulfill our progressive manifestos to the delight of all Lagosians.

As the second half begins, we are convinced that all projects will be completed and more impactful policies , programs and projectswill be implemented as you finish strongly.

We can as well start preparing to add the appellation “Your Excellency “ to your name which you have earned in words and deed. Without an iota of doubt, your name will go down in history as the governor who took over at an unusual time in human history , rose and excelled beyond the limitations of the enormous challenges.

Culture / Baba Ijesha Rape Scandal: Erelu Tinuade Calls For Proper Punishment Of Culprit by DebbyJose: 3:56pm On May 01, 2021
Says actors should refrain from defending their colleague.

The highly revered international a cultural icon, The Erelu Oodua of Aye Kingdom, Founder of Erelu Oodua Mabel Tinuade Initiative Against Gender Inequality & Sexual Abuse, Erelu Oodua Tinuade Mabel Onaneye has called for proper punishment for culprit if found guilty while also warning actors to refrain from defending their erring colleague.

She made the declaration on Monday, 3rd of May 2021 from her base in Texas, United States through a press release she signed and made available to the general public in relation to the ongoing rape scandal between a well-known Yoruba actor, Mr Olanrewaju Omiyinka popularly known as Baba Ijesha and a 14-year-old minor who was said to be living with another actress cum comedian, Damilola Adekoya popularly known as Princess as at the time of the incidence.

Erelu Tinuade became upset upon reading the prelimunary findings of the Lagos State Police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, that revealed the suspect allegedly began sexually assaulting the victim since she was 7 years old coupled with the viral video where the actor was assaulting the minor.

'Proper punishment should be meted out to the actor in order to send a strong warning to other child molesters and rapists out there who haven't been caught yet. I can imagine the pain and emotional trauma the little girl would be going through right now.' Erelu lamented.

She equally issued a stern warning to the likes of Foluke Daramola an actress and self-confessed rape survivor, who endorsed a statement by another actor Yomi Fabiyi (in defense of Baba Ijesha) to desist from taking side and showing support for fellow actors who committed offenses of that magnitude.

In conclusion, Erelu Tinuade enjoins the general public and Nollywood folks not to play politics with the case of the little girl. She says people's insensitivity would hurt her more than the actual act

Politics / The Truth About Bello’s "Presidency" | By Shadrach Emmanuel by DebbyJose: 4:27pm On Apr 12, 2021
The Nigerian political space has gained more vitality since Governor Yahaya Bello received a push from the large number of Nigerian youths to run for Presidency come 2023. We have seen Governor Yahaya Bello trend on Twitter, Facebook and other social media platform and there is no sign that he is going to stop trending. The supporters intensify their support and the pundits are making their shots too.

The real “Audacity of Hope” is made manifest in the possibility of Governor Yahaya Bello becoming the Nigerian President. This is on the background that, firstly, he is from the North Central political region, a region unceremoniously neglected during Nigeria’s democratic dispensation, yet contribute so much to the progress of democracy in Nigeria. Secondly, he represents the Nigerian youth who dare to dream to become Nigerian President and the Nigerian youths are often regarded in Nigerian political permutation as instrument for political violence and thuggery and lastly, he is not a conventional or mainstream politician; Nigerian conventional politician believe that the office of the President is for display of grandeur and not that of responsibility.

It therefore becomes a rare “Audacity of Hope” to change the political status quo in Nigeria and almost unthinkable to dream of being a Nigerian President if you are not from one of the three “major ethnic” groups in Nigeria. This is one of the political storms that must be weathered by Governor Yahaya Bello and he is doing that pretty well.

The truth about Governor Yahaya Bello’s quest to Presidency is not about his person trying to grab power for aggrandizement but about the Nigerian youths being at the helm of affairs of our national politics and governance. It is about giving the Nigerian youths the chance to lead the country they call their own and it is about restoring the dignity of our nation. So, suggesting otherwise in a time like this, is to be politically insensitive, callous and treacherous.

More than 20% of the Nigerian States borders have relative peace and security today because we have a leader in Governor Yahaya Bello who understands the primary responsibility of a government and he is executing same without any slack and he stands out and ready to restore what the country have lost and to make every Nigerian to be proud of the country.

If Nigeria is ready to be turned around for good and be among the comity of prosperous Nations, then, Nigeria should not shy away from the credible potential of Governor Yahaya Bello and this is the truth about “Bello’s Presidency”, the sooner we realize this, the better.

The nominations and appointments of Sunny Neji and Asha Fopohunda (Asha Gangali) were on the basis of MCSN’s agreement with the Performing Musicians’ Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), which provides that PMAN would have two seats on the Board of MCSN. The nomination and appointment of Matthew Ohio on the other hand was based on Matthew’s wide interests and representations in the music industry upon which MCSN would leverage to increase the quality and quantity of its membership and huge repertoire.

Business / Figures Don’t Lie: Wema Bank Standing On Strong Financial Fundamentals -adebise by DebbyJose: 11:35am On Apr 10, 2021
Wema Bank, Nigeria’s leading innovative and digital-driven financial institution has reassurance its esteemed customers and shareholders that it remains standing on strong financial fundamentals and reliable performance metrics, riding on the back of seasoned and astute leadership.

The bank gave this reassurance, through its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Ademola Adebise, while reacting to a recent publication in the media purportedly alleging a dip in its liquidity status following the unaudited report for 2020 with the MD/CEO saying the report is only a deliberate campaign to create panic among its stakeholders using false news, and therefore should be discountenanced,

He said, “The strength and viability of financial institutions are not measured on the isolated performance of one outlier year. The said report based a lot of its false allegations on the unaudited 2020 financial year. But that was a year when COVID-19 induced a lockdown and a disruption of such magnitude that negatively impacted businesses, industries and economies the world over.

“Wema Bank has continually exhibited not just resilience, but admirable viability over the years with a 30.95% increase in earnings recorded in just 2019. Then came 2020, and in spite of the difficulties, we succeeded in achieving impressive results in key areas such as net earnings from fees and commissions, while growing the Bank’s asset base significantly.

“That’s not all, customer credibility in the bank was also accentuated with a massive increase in customer deposits over the previous year. This is an audacious show of confidence from the customers of Wema Bank

“These performance metrics amongst others, are testament to our smart balance sheet optimization approach which will be affirmed by the time the audited and official 2020 Financial Report is released in the coming weeks “

The CEO also referenced how well the Bank’s performance in the said 2020 makes it one of the best performing financial institutions in the land.

“We won the BusinessDay award for the Best SME Bank of the Year for 2020. A recognition of our unrivalled support for small and medium scale businesses through loans, business advisory, and ease of payments and transactions.

“Also, the recently published 2020 KPMG Customer Experience Survey, showed Wema Bank making significant growth in the retail category, climbing up ten (10) places from the previous year to 2nd position, with an above industry average of 74.6% Customer Experience score. This achievement is a mark of dedication to excellent customer service and refreshing support for all our customer categories.”

The KPMG Customer Experience Survey grades banks over six universal pillars of Personalization, Integrity, Expectations, Resolution, Time & Effort and Empathy, and Wema Bank has showed a mastery of these pillars and have been outstanding at all of them.

Furthermore, in line with the bank’s sustainability goal of developing digital solutions for societal impact, it successfully organized the second edition of Hackaholics, a radical gathering of developers, web designers and creative thinkers to develop solutions around key themes of Education, Health, Agriculture, Fintech, Gaming & Betting.

These are intentional measures put in place to sustain an institution’s legacy of economic evolution and social inclusion.

“We are a responsible corporate citizen with empathy as a core pillar of our personality. Thus, we stood by the nation in the trying times of the COVID-19 pandemic with significant support for governments at both the federal and state levels.

“Particularly to prevent severe food shortages and align with the SDG of Zero Hunger, we supported State Governments with food palliatives donation which alleviated the conditions of over 80,000 households of the most vulnerable segments of the population.”

With all these financial and non-financial performance metrics, it is not in doubt that Wema Bank is not only standing strong, it is also among the best performing financial institutions in Nigeria, in 2020.

“I’ll take this opportunity to commend our customers for their sustained trust in us. A support that has remained a critical pillar of our stability and growth over the years, especially as we celebrate our 76th anniversary.

For us as a responsible and visionary organization, we are staying committed to our corporate purpose of making life easier and better through innovation and digital-driven lifestyle solutions for Nigerians and their businesses.” Adebise concluded.

Culture / Erelu Tinuade Sues For Unity In Her Easter Message To All Nigerians by DebbyJose: 5:16pm On Apr 04, 2021
The Erelu Oodua of Aye Kingdom & Irawo-Oni Oodua of Yorubaland, Erelu Mabel Tinuade Onaneye has urged the Yoruba Christian faithful in Nigeria and diaspora to imbibe the teachings of Jesus in their conduct and relationship with others as they celebrate Easter.

In a statement on Sunday, 04 April 2021 in Lagos, Erelu also congratulated all Christians in her senatorial district and Nigeria on this important day.

The Erelu said the resurrection of Jesus, the reason for Easter, was the foundation of the Christian faith. “It is not only the promise of eternity, but it is also the guarantee of a life of victory, here on earth”. Read the statement below:

I join Christians across Yorubaland and around the entire Nigeria in celebrating this year’s Easter. In remembrance of the persecution of Jesus Christ, His death and ultimate resurrection, we find a deeper conviction as a people to lead a life of humility, honesty, righteousness, and kindness.

Never in the recent history of our Yoruba nation have we ever had a greater call as a people to be compassionate, united and empathetic to one another at these difficult times. The unending challenges and crisis facing Yorubas is testing our collective resilience as a people.

It's a known fact that we are like an orphan in this nation considering all we suffered since Buhari came to power. We have cried out over incessant kidnappings, raping, banditry and murder carried out by the illegal squatters in Yoruba's farmlands and forests but the Buhari-led federal government had no answer even when notable Yoruba personalities became victims.

Therefore, let us be each other’s keepers this Easter Season and even beyond and it's my prayer that we will not miss the blessings of the sacrifice, redemption and love that this season symbolize.

Once again, Happy Easter!

E-Signed:

ERELU MABEL TINUADE ONANEYE

Music/Radio / Breaking News: Tony Okoroji On The Run!! by DebbyJose: 11:11am On Apr 03, 2021
The lies and propaganda of Tony Okoroji and COSON have caught up with them..

Last week Tony Okoroji and his team went around social Media claiming that he was not arrested and none of his staff was arrested. But this week the same man that called the event of his invitation to the Police Headquarters in Abuja a fake news is the same person admitting that the security agencies, namely the Nigeria Police, the Directorate of State Security (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) are after him because he was allegedly collecting money illegally and using it for his personal gains.

We all remember that the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) suspended COSON license and finally revoked it altogether for lack of transparency and accountability. The Nigerian Broadcasting Commission also included in the 6th Amendment of the Broadcast Code that all users of Intellectual Property must pay royalties and contact the NCC if they are not sure of which Collective Management Organization (CMO) to pay.

Well, the chicken has finally come home to roost as Tony Okoroji is now running from pillar to post looking for the authority that will protect his suspected criminalities or that will ask the security agencies not to question and investigate his activities as COSON chairman.

He has brazenly presented his organisation to a lot of corporate companies which has now become accomplices in misapportioning monies meant for musicians while impersonating as a Collective Management Organisation (CMO) without Approval or Licence to do so.

When all his connections has apparently failed him he has now ran to court to aiming to stop the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Department of State Services (DSS) from investigating him.

Why are they afraid of Police investigation by running to the court to seek refuge from being investigated? We keep our fingers crossed.

We will wait to see how a former public company which was registered as Limited by Guarantee handling public funds wants to stop the Nigerian Government and its law enforcement agencies from investigating the collections and spending of monies belonging to Nigerian Musicians in the name COSON without approval and in the face of a subsisting judgment nullifying the company.

The interests of Nigerian Musicians are bigger than the interest of an individual who claims to be all-knowing, all powerful and bigger than any institution or authority in Nigeria.

We at PMAN said it before that this individual can fool us sometimes but he cannot fool us all the time.

Whether he sues the Federal Government and add the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Tony Okoroji will still give account of what happened to the monies he collected on behalf of musicians in Nigeria. The era of manipulation of people and the legal system will not continue anymore.

Going to file a Fundamental Human Rights case against the Agencies of government cannot give anyone cover to continue in illegal operations or stop the agencies from carrying out their constitutional duties. If those concerned, Tony Okoroji and his team, have not done anything wrong why then are they afraid of been investigated?

COSON has been proscribed by the judgment of the Federal High Court in Suit No: FHC/L/CS/274/2010 and as such COSON is not a juristic person and it is no longer known to law in Nigeria.

We are ready to call out and expose whosoever tries to connive with Okoroji and COSON to obstruct the agencies from doing their civic duties of Investigation on matters involving huge amounts of money belonging to Nigerian Musicians and their foreign counterparts whose music are exploited in Nigeria, which were apparently paid and collected under false pretences.

Your strategy of propaganda has failed because we are all wiser in the industry Now.

PMAN is following the unfolding events and will be giving musicians regular updates as the drama continues.

Pretty Okafor

PMAN President.

Politics / ADC Youth Hangout, The Novel And Innovative ADC Conversation Platform by DebbyJose: 10:59am On Apr 02, 2021
ADC Youth Hangout, the novel and innovative ADC conversation and learning platform and the ADC Youth Council will decide 2023. "Following from the youth activism during the #ENDSARS, it is clear that Nigeria youths are prepared for political leadership."

Asked whether he supports the call from Igbo leaders for South-East President in 2023.

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, says in the interest of equity, justice and unity of Nigeria, the next president in 2023 should come from the South-East geopolitical zone of the country. Maintaining that the interest of the country should supersede individual aspirations, he insists that there are quality presidential materials from all zones of the country. He urged all Nigerians to show patriotism and stop leaving in denial that parochialism is pulling our country from taking its rightful position.

The Chairman of ADC Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu said this in a web interview with select media.

Chief Nwosu said it will be unfair to Nigerians of the South-East extraction to be denied the opportunity to produce the next President.

"in view of the fact that it’s one of the few geopolitical zones of Nigeria that is yet to produce the Executive President of Federal Republic of Nigeria," he added

Nwosu who made it clear that his view may not be in tandem with the decision of his party, said the choice of the zone to produce the next President after President Muhammadu Buhari should be based on fairness, equity and justice, noting that the management the diversity of the country requires mindfulness and efficient application of diversity principles.

On the chances of his political party to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) at the federal level and at the states level, Nwosu said ADC is prepared to upset bookmakers in the 2023 General Elections. That Nigerians have become wiser, as a result, attempts to use the money to buy their conscience will fail.

" We have gone back to the drawing board, we have reflected on our past performance at polls and have come out with a new strategy to win big in the next elections cycle. "Inclusion is key to us, we don't sweep people off the bus neither do we let Nigerians out in the rain or severe weather. With our handshake symbol, we shake hands and pull everyone along".

He explained that the party is mobilising the youth and women to take over space and make changes for the good of Nigerians. "ADC Youth Hangout is happening across Nigeria and the talking points in all the sessions are suiting, appealing, empowering and inspiring that it has become one of the strongest learning platforms in the country".

When asked that ADC did not perform well in the last General Elections, Chief Nwosu debunked the insulation saying the party won many seats at the National Assembly and in about 12 states house of Assembly in different states.

The ADC Chairman accused the Independent National Electoral Commission for conniving with the executive branch of government to undermine free and fair elections in the country all the time out.

” I disagree with anyone who says ADC didn’t do well in the last General Elections, Without fear of contradictions INEC worked against us (ADC) because of the sudden postponement of the elections when we had expended all our resources to pay our party agents across Nigeria.

Culture / Confusion As Royal Family Asks Oba Gbolahan Lawal To Vacate The Throne by DebbyJose: 11:08am On Mar 31, 2021
When the system of selection of ruler is riddled with conspiracy and selfish plot, the consequence is usually grave on the generality of the community.

The Oniru of Iruland Gbolahan Lawal has become a nemesis to his patrons and handlers, as he has turned the Iruland that we knew as a place of solace, to home for thugs, assassins and marauders.

Ever since Gbolahan ascended the undeserved stool, numerous people ‘disappeared’ under his reign and several respected men and women in the community have been attacked and harassed by his boys.

There are countless cases of Gbolahan’s thugs inflicting life-threatening injuries and metaphysical charms on anyone he suspects to be an opposition.

There are also indications that the Oniru is disillusioned that he has not only dumped his key people who risked everything to give him the underserved Obaship status, but also turned them to disposable entities.

Recently some legitimate and recognised royal families of Iruland could no longer take the excesses of Gbolahan Lawal, whose reign has been on record as an imposed crown bearer, who has been handpicked to do the bidding of his paymaster, and they call for his removal from the royal stool.

The Ewumi Branch of Abisogun Ruling House recently called on Gbolahan Lawal to vacate the stool for Prince Hakeem Ajasa, who was one of the legitimate candidates for the stool at the time.

It was reported that Ajasa willingly surrendered his aspiration to Gbolahan, who was never in the race at the time.

Prince Monsuru Ajasa, who spoke on behalf of the Abisogun family said that Prince Gbolahan Lawal never showed interest from the inception of the In-house, Ewumi Royal family and larger Abisogun family nomination, selection and election processes such that Prince Lawal’s mother even gave her consent and blessings to Prince Ajasa’s selection/election when visited at Iru Family Resettlement Scheme.”

Prince Monsuru Ajasa further stated that Hakeem Ajasa was elected at the Olori Ebi’s House in Mile 2, Lagos and all Prince Lawal’s siblings were present, evidence that Prince Lawal was not amongst the contenders and did not show interest neither did he follow due the process as stipulated by the Chieftaincy regulations but was merely imposed on the family by Bola Tinubu.

In view of this development, therefore, the Abisogun have now rejected Prince Gbolahan Lawal in totality. The Ewumi Royal family of Abisogun Ruling House have since requested that Prince Gbolahan Lawal returns the crown and also vacate the throne.

Gbolahan’s reign of terror and his ruthless style of rulership has not only seized the peaceful serenity that the people of Iru once enjoyed,

Wherever Gbolahan passed, the grass will never grow again. He has demonstrated a chilling disregard for the sufferings of his own people and mercilessly crushed any opposition.

Things have fallen apart and the centre can no longer hold in the fold of Gbolahan. Heads are already rolling in his own fold.

He has ordered his thugs to take to the streets to intimidate and suppress anyone who challenge his excesses and recklessness in Iruland.

Recall the viral video that showed how some men were attacked by Gbolahan’s thug in December 2020, at a family shrine, where many people were severely injured and the 200 years old shrine was reduced to nothing.

Gbolahan’s reign is replete with examples of less than stellar leadership. His penchant for violence, murder, genocidal tendencies, and other deviancies is unquantifiable.

It is hoped that the paymasters who imposed him, will see through his tyrannical style of leadership and treat the situation as a matter of urgency, as his paranoia may destroy Iruland.

Politics / Local Government Councils Election: Pdp's Allegation Baseless, Petty - APC by DebbyJose: 8:09pm On Mar 28, 2021
Lagos State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC has reacted to the suggestive allegation raised by the opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP claiming that Lagos State Governor is planning to entrench undemocratic rule in the Local government areas of the state.

The Spokesperson of the PDP had in a press release claimed that the APC is planning not to conduct local elections this year, but to impose its preferred candidates at every local council development area and local government.

Reacting to this allegation that has been debunked as baseless and petty, the Spokesperson of the APC, Hon Seye Oladejo stated that the PDP has cried wolf too often, people have stopped believing them.

He congratulated the party for finding their voice at the time of electoral exercise as they often do, and reiterated that the baseless allegation or suspicion to entrench undemocratic governance at the local government level in the state is not in tandem with the fact that Lagos State has always had democratically elected leaders at the grassroots since the inception of this dispensation

Read statement below

Let me congratulate the Lagos State PDP for characteristically finding its voice again as a result of the impending local government elections in the state.

For the umpteenth time, let me state categorically that the comatose Lagos State PDP only comes alive during the election season only to withdraw to its cocoon after the traditional perennial defeat.

Their monumental defeat during the recently held Lagos East Senatorial and KOSOFE 2 Lagos State House of Assembly by-elections has further exposed the ineptitude of the PDP opposition that’s bereft of winning capability as a result of their constant rejection at the polls.

The needless ranting about the local government elections that are not even due and for which we await an official pronouncement shows the idleness and needless rabble-rousing of its confused leadership.

The baseless allegation or suspicion to entrench undemocratic governance at the local government level in the state is not in tandem with the fact that Lagos State has always had democratically elected leaders at the grassroots since the inception of this dispensation.

It’s also noteworthy that activities and preparations towards the local government elections as admitted by the opposition, the spokesman is only prevalent in the ruling party in the state. We can only sympathize with the fact that the opposition PDP will struggle to field candidates for the elections.

As a party that believes in the rule of law, upholds the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the tenets of democracy, we wish to assure Lagosians that local government elections will hold in our state at the appropriate time.

There’s absolutely no need to cry wolves where there’s none.

Seye Oladejo

The year 2020 was a difficult year for a lot of people and the Nigerian film industry was no exception. Shoots were cancelled, film releases were delayed and now, production companies have to find new and innovative ways to convince their audience to visit the cinemas, in the middle of a pandemic that has threatened the very existence of human identity.

2021 looks like it’ll be an exciting year for those looking for Nollywood enthusiasts, as top Nollywood Actor, Babaseun Faseru is set to release new blockbusters from the stable of Astrocraft Productions in 2021

Babaseun Faseru remains one of Nollywood’s most adored male actors. Aside from his brilliant acting skills, Babaseun has a lovable personality and has for all his career carried himself so very well.

From his looks to his composure, speech delivery and carriage, Babaseun gave one of the best performances of his career so far with his role in both movies.

Not only is Babaseun one of the most talented actors to grace Nollywood, but he has also directed, starred in, and produced quality movies, receiving various nominations and awards.

The Seyi Akinsola’s initiative, Astrocraft has come to change the narrative of the movie industry in Nigeria and the resonant effect is evidently telling.

In the last 2 months, Seyi Akinsola has mobilized the best of the best movie actors in the Nigeria movie industry to produce to the blockbusters.

Ebiti is a drama with compelling storylines backed with impressive acting.

The movie offers a beacon that society and police can see to correct the ills we are all already aware of. Deputy Superintendent Gbade Davies (Yomi Fash Lanso) with his team are on a journey of putting some jigsaw puzzles together to unravel a mystery. Their attention to detail, professionalism, tenacity, compassion, empathy, and integrity in this journey are tested.

#Endsars was a good conversation starter on how we can have responsive and effective policing. Police with a human face, technology, and media-savvy, police that can maintain law and order with a high degree of responsibility.

Police with a human face, technology, and media-savvy, police that can maintain law and order with a high degree of responsibility. Ebiti is also produced by Bababseun Faseru.

Ebiti features top actors such as Damola Adetunji, Ronke Odusanya, Yinka Salau and many more.

Dieko, on the other hand, is a movie that addresses the spike in sexual violence. In Nigeria, it is not uncommon for rape to go unreported.

Some victims and their families, fearing stigmatization, police extortion, and a lack of trust in the judicial process, choose not to report cases to the authorities.

There have also been instances where those brave enough to report are targeted with derogatory comments at the police station.

In 2017, Sexual offenses in Nigeria records, 2,279 reported cases of rape and indecent assault, 1,164reported cases of "unnatural offences" (i.e anal sex), zero convictions reported by police, and only one state (out of 36) reported no cases of indecent assault.

The movie, Dieko reflects that sometimes, the cause of rape may not be the state of mind of the rapist, but his orientation. Its portrays how a gentleman who is attractive, does not know to woo a woman or have consensual sexual engagement with the opposite sex, but loves to be rough and enjoys causing harm and injury on the opposite sex to gratify himself.

The movie teaches that not all roughneck men are crude with women and not all smooth-looking men are kind.

The movie is produced by top Nollywood actor, Babaseun Faseru and seasoned director Titi Jeje.

Astrocraft movie production invests in the making of movies and offers the resources and manpower required to make it all possible.

Business / Lagos Leading School, Grace Schools Set To Honour Popular Socialite, Businesswom by DebbyJose: 3:56pm On Mar 18, 2021
Princess Toyin Kolade, who is popularly known as Iyalaje, has her fingers in many pies, including oil and gas, furniture, real estate, maritime, hospitality, home appliances, and many more

She is a socialite of note, as no social event complete without her presence.

The Osun State-born beauty also commands deep respect and accolade from young and old, especially in the political, social, and business circles.

Princess is in tune with modern trends in the fashion and beauty world.

She can be referred to as a showstopper.

Those close to the Fisolak Global Resource boss would attest to the fact that she is a hard-working and supportive woman.

She is recognized as one of the champions of the revitalization of the Yoruba culture and tradition, and has stood as a custodian of yoruba value and ethics. She bows and kneels whenever she greets people who are younger or older than she is.

It is this virtue of humility that drew His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Babatunde Adeyeye Ogunwusi to her,

She has given a lot to promote the annual Aje Festival (Festival of Wealth) in Ile-Ife, the cradle of the Yoruba race.

For her commitment, the businesswoman will be bestowed with the highly coveted Yoruba title of ‘Iyaalaje’ during the forthcoming Aje Festival in Ile-Ife in 2021.

The ancient city of Ife shall welcome top political officials, captains of industries, and socialites, who will come in their large numbers to celebrate with the stylish philanthropist.

This is why one of Nigeria's leading education institution, Grace Schools have decided to Honour this woman of virtue in the forthcoming Annual Grace Schools Alumni Teachers Awards Set to hold mid- 2021

She will be presenting awards to deserving personality at the event, and shall also be honoured with our highly coveted Personality of the year.
