heyteaherm: Hi , were you able to fix or get past this error ? Could anyone give me a hint on how to solve this ? Thanks in advance. Make sure you don't have same dates for your education and work. For example if you were schooling from June 2000-June 2004 and you were also working that period, it wont let you put the same date for both. You have to use that date for only education or only work experience, not both |

Please house, when filling the new form, is authorization letter still needed if the visitor is coming to unite with a family and if he is fully vaccinated? He will also be traveling with kids who are not up to the age of being vaccinated |

skull4eva: Which province? All provinces except quebec requires 10k for you 4k for your hubby and 3k for each child making 20k cad. But for quebec 11k for you 5k for hubby, 4k each per child. 24k cad total Thanks for your response |

Hi everyone, I recently came into Canada on a student visa and would like to apply for my family to join me. Based on the current trend, applying for a visitors permit seems faster than applying for a sowp. Please what's the expected proof of funds to apply for visitors visa for my husband and 2 kids and can I also apply through the new link? |

Landing Gist!!! Lagos to Calgary.
It was a long but smooth flight for me. I left Lagos on Sunday 23rd by 10pm, got to the airport around 7, checked my bags in; I had to adjust my things to be 23kg both, I removed some things from my box and put them in the bag containing my food items. My bags weren't checked, the officer just asked why I was travelling and if it was my first time then she let me go) At the Lagos airport, I was asked to show my LOA, enrolment letter (since classes have started), Covid result, passport and ArriveCAN receipt. I was given a yellow form which I filled and submitted at the Immigration stand. Before boarding the flight, my hand luggage was checked but nothing was removed, it was just my laptop, snacks and some clothes that filled my 2 hand luggage. No stress at the Lagos airport actually.
I used KLM so we first went to Amsterdam, it was a 7hours flight; food was served but I only ate the chicken - I had snacks with me and I slept most of the time. When we got to Amsterdam, I missed my way and went to the place for exit rather than going to wait for my connecting flight but an officer redirected me (we were about 4 that made this mistake). It was a long wait here (close to 7 hours again) but I spent most of it communicating with my family via the free wifi at the airport. I had 2 devices so when the 1 hour free internet expired on my phone, I switched to my Ipad and started watching a movie (Squid Game) and I switched back to my phone again when that also expired (I didn't sleep at the stopover and I wasn't so bored too, thanks to the free wifi).
Time came for us to continue our journey to Calgary and it was a 9 hours journey but smooth as well. I had pasta this time and it wasn't so bad then I continued my sleep. Got to Calgary, had my documents checked, same docs that were checked at the Lagos airport. Was asked to declare my food items (I didn't go with any poultry product, just fish, stockfish, some leaves, egusi, ogbonno, spices, crayfish) then the officer wrote it down on a yellow form and selected me for a random sample(covid test) then I went into another room where I was given my study permit and was told that I could work for up to 20hours per week. From there, I went for the Covid test since I was selected and when I was done there, I was free to go. I wasn't asked to be quarantined since I was fully vaccinated and presented no Covid symptoms. When I got out of the airport, the cold breeze welcomed me so I rushed back into the airport and waited patiently for my host to come pick me up.
It's been good so far and my classes are still online so I am still enjoying staying at home. Thanks to everyone that has contributed on this platform, I learnt a lot from here. Congrats to those who have received their PPR and to those still expecting, may it end in praise for you. Amen!!! |

Hello house, just wanted to share something I learnt that might be beneficial to some.
In light of the rumour about vaccines in Nigeria not being valid since some people just pay for the cards without being vaccinated, I was advised to make a video of myself while taking the vaccine to show as additional proof if need be.
Unfortunately, I am already fully vaccinated so I missed out on this but if you're yet to take, I advice you capture the moment |

Anon44: Congratulations Debbzjay!!!
Please your brother who served your sponsor, what documents did you submit for him and like how much was his bank balance.
I'm trying to do same but my brother's personal account bank balance is N1M with a lot of transactions while his 2 company accounts, he has N12m all together.
Congratulations again. Thank you. I submitted his CAC documents, sponsorship letter, International passport and family pictures. He sent me the money (10m) so I didn't focus on his account statement though he generated MBS which the bank only gave him the ticket number without the password so he typed the ticket number in his sponsorship letter plus he didn't have up to 12m in his accounts |

ekenzify: Oh congratulations!
I want to go for a one year program too, probably with co-op option.
Do l need to apply for a work permit together with the study permit? I think that if your LOA has co-op written in it then you would need to apply for a work permit alongside your study permit application |

The responses I was getting were APPLICATION STILL UNDER REVIEW. To God be the glory, I just received my PPR today, infact this morning. It will surely end in praise for all of US
I just want to share my application timeline to give someone hope.

owee: Does IRCC normally indicate "We are reviewing the results of your medical exam", before updating the status to pass? This is if you submitted upfront medicals along with your application initially. Please advise if you've also noticed this. Mine is currently showing "we are reviewing the results of your medical exam". I raised a webform on Saturday to upload the slip and noticed the change in status on Tuesday. I didn’t receive an email notification though |

Thumbs up to everyone contributing here. I've been following this thread for a while now and I've noticed that VO's often ask how many schools one has applied to. I applied to only one school and I've been accepted for spring 2019. What is the best response to this if asked cos i don't intend to apply to another school |
