That was my concerns too…but seeing what guys are saying here I’m starting to feel somehow,, should I have gone with no money to offset my bills and start sleeping in peoples houses, or beg people to pay my tuition?. My tuition runs close to $32k. I have no money to offset this. And thinking I’ll find help when I land when I’ve already exhausted all opportunities to get another means of funding from other professor failed. My thought was “what’s the purpose of traveling when the funding to do research Kant there. Isn’t it just decent to stay back and reapply and look for other means of funding?’

Now, (attached) the other school which admitted me for Fall 2024 alreeey agreed to defer me to Spring 2025 with funding from TA this time, and not from a PI’s research (I told them I had visa delay issues). But from what guys here are saying, it seems I won’t be able ro get another visa since I’ve refused to use the one given to me the other time. Tbh, I just didn’t want to risk it without funding. Research for my PhD matter more to me than just Japa…I guess I’ve lost my chances at visa and I’ll probably try some other countries

Note: I had my Masters in the US last year. Came back home. So I was only going back because I was able to secure another PhD offer upon reaching home

1. You have to keep sending emails to various institution for positive admission reply . Any professor who promises a future admission is actually expecting fundings in the form of various grants and such expectation can be delayed or postponed.

2. As for the professor who has promised you , you have to keep sending a reminder email once in a while . No real professor would think you are after money. He understands that Phd application is based on passion and that the money/funding aspect is of utmost importance since no Phd student can survive without it.

I have been sending numerous emails and there are few replies. Out of all the email I sent, two said there is no funding and the other said that my qualifications are good but he is applying for funding and will save my contact for when an opportunity arises.

Please what do you advice I do with this particular professor. Should I send him another email to remind him?

I don't want it to look like I am only after the money and not interested in his research. I am going for a PhD.

1. Are you a beginner or an expert
2. Which type of program do you want to use for coding.
These are the few things to consider before choosing an idea laptop for program. Trust me you can't go wrong with HP, DELL or Lenovo.

Things are quite expensive nowadays. And, I can't recommend laptops intended for graphics related purposes, as my knowledge never reach that side. Na only processor type, generation, clock speed, ram, ROM and battery e stop.lol

I want to buy a � laptop for my school works. These are the things I really need.
1.A good battery life (at least 9-11 hours).
2. A webcam camera (I take lessons online).
3. An Intel core (I don't even know what this mean sef)
4. 4-8G RAM and 500 Rom
5.it can do simple video editing and browse well.
The truth is I don't know much about laptop, nothing at all. I was told I can get sincere advice here.

The first thing you will ask yourself is: will I get a permanent place after the contract expires? What are your chances?. Having your name in your CV is cool but what is the garrantee that you won't be dropped.
Right now,your best shot is the private sector. The pay is another thing to consider right now.
