From an insider intel at the Aso Rock, Buhari and his kitchen cabinets aka cabals got intel of how Bola Tinubu have been moving billions of Naira to Northern state Governors and some others in the South to help him rig and win the 2023 Presidential election just as he used Lagos ill gotten money to buy APC's Presidential ticket to the disgust of Buhari and the Aso Rock cabals.



When Buhari got this intels, he stayed calm and summoned Godwin Emefiele to a secret meeting where he asked Emefiele how Tinubu and other corrupt politicians' plans to use money to buy peoples mandate during 2023 general elections, it was then that Emefiele recommended changing the higher Naira denominations through redesigning of Naira so that the billions Tinubu moved to different politicians would become useless in their hands.


Right there Buhari approved it and told Emefiele to go into action without delay and that was how the whole policy came to being.



To ensure this policy is not sabotaged, the source said Buhari had to appoint his in-law as the Chairman of Minting.



The source said all the Governors that sued FG and CBN against this Naira redesign are the biggest beneficiaries of Tinubu's Naira rain largesse and they are under pressure to deliver Tinubu and the billions in their hands is stuck in the old 1000 and 500 notes, which is why they sued CBN to extend the deadline so they can exhaust the huge funds in delivering Tinubu.



The source said their next move now is to start sponsoring protests against Buhari's insistence that 1000 and 500 notes are no longer valid legal tenders in Nigeria.

If this is true, then it is clear that Buhari has intelligence that most of the monies kept by Tinubu and APC Govs for vote buying are in the higher denominations(#1000 and #500), so he is now telling them that they have been destroyed. This of course means that they can no longer be recirculated to the public and hence are no longer legal tender. But the old #200 notes can be re-circulated to the public to ease the suffering of people.

Smart move!!!

The Govs know that at this point they cannot continue to use the "people" to pursue their selfish aim of vote buying. The people can use the old #200 notes as well as the new notes. But the billions of naira in #1000 and #500 that were kept will become useless and cannot be deployed for vote buying as voters cannot accept monies that no other person or institution(including banks) would accept.
