Nairaland is filled with people whose parents have no house in the city. Go to your parents house, it's your right and inheritance. |
Sharia and backwardness are twins. |
Do obidients want a progressive Nigeria or just want their man to win? |
Federal government should subsidise electricity in conjunction with state government through tax concessions for power holding companies, so their cost of production reduces, for reduced energy cost. If Nigeria wants to be an industrialised, productive nation, power/electricity must be cheap, right now it's too expensive. Now the poor is paying through their nose and political class getting richer, the dividends of democracy is not enjoyed by the people. The people must enjoy the wealth of the nation either through low prices by concessions of government to companies on tax etc, joint venture between public and private sectors, subsidies or welfare, the wealth of the nation is not for politicians alone. |
Yes, North need to lead itself, it's almajiris before thinking of leading Nigeria. |
Haydens:An enigma stick to their way, I think Obi is too desperate to be classified as such, willing to dine with anyone even proven mediocres and saboteurs of our system, just because of his personal goal of being a president. All Nigerian politicians for now are mediocres. |
Macphenson:It is not the self determination, it is the crimes committed in the process. He is not above the law because he is self determining. Self determining does not give him exclusivity to start a militia that spread terror, breaking prisons, resulting to release of hardened criminals, leading to total breakdown of law and order. There was a time when nearly 70% of southeasterners were outside south east because of the activities of ipob and sit at home order. He has no powers to give such orders, he placed himself way beyond his powers as a citizen, his powers and limitations are same as those killed by the activities of his militia group...Nobody is above the law, this principle is always constant, in all cases. If we all start militias nowhere will be safe, only state, federal or local government authorities have rights to form security outfits, as backed by law, by an act of either state or federal parliament, working with state apparatus and cohesion, you can't just get up and form an armed wing because you are angry and feel like, the law don't care about your anger. If we all have militias nowhere will be safe, the nation will retrogress...those places everyone like to live are peaceful and sane, because reasonable people maintain the peace and sanity. How can he be fighting herdsmen and innocent people were dying and being oppressed by his group (sit at home order), it makes no sense. If Kanu was an American or committed these crimes in America, China or even South Africa, he won't see the light of day again. Our justice system seems weak, even our state prosecutors not sharp enough. |
You should write a book about this, apt. The political class are in politics for the wrong reasons, to the detriment of development and peace for Nigeria and Nigerians. |
How will a party of fascists lead in a sane, respectful and democratic manner? Even when they are not in power they want everyone to bow to their thoughts and wishes, obidients are quite myopic, seems a lot of misguided kids are there, and their leader is not advising them all because he wants to win elections. |
AngelahFlo:I think you don't understand enough, you are talking secondary school economics. Division of labour is the coming together of different Skills to perform a productive service or production activity, it is different from companies scaling up the value chain...big companies like Total, Thermocool, Oando, Coca-Cola all did both producing and distributing...it is all about capacity which Dangote has. Facebook bought WhatsApp, HSBC and Goldman Sachs hold almost all financial, derivatives, bonds and mutual funds holdings... scaling up is not an offence or crime, it is a free market economy, winner takes all. Dangote is already making moves to go into distribution, you advocates of high prices working for marketers have failed. Nigerians need and deserve lower prices, and your submission that you can't be producer and distributor at same time is flawed and a fallacy, as many examples of such abound. Dangote must go into distribution for the good of Nigerians (lower prices) and halting import of fuel, this will boost our naira, don't forget Dangote employs Nigerians too, so we have more benefits in Dangote than in foreign fuel merchants. |
Gotocourt:Those marketers are greedy but Nigeria's and Nigerians interest is greater and more important than their profits. We don't need to import fuel no more to boost the naira, and Nigerians deserve lower prices. |
Petrol Marketers have become evil and a thorn in the flesh of Nigerians, Dangote should go into distribution...buy or hire trucks. |
lexy2014:This topic is not about Tinubu, restructuring...true federal structure. |
![]() Going from one association to another, it's funny...these are the people that put Nigeria in this mess. |
APC government, president Tinubu, you should focus on your remaining years, work on security, don't give in to political sycophants and jobbers gallivanting about 2027, these terrorists and attackers are not ghosts, people know their ethnic stock, they are witnesses, they see how they look and hear their language, how can a convoy of armed men disappear into thin air? How come no arrest have been made, then what is the security people doing there? We must stop this self deceit and stop provoking the people, even the law frowns at provocation and a people must preserve their life. |
The plateau killings is another blight on our collective conscience as a people. The people are not ghosts, are the security agents saying they didn't hear the gunshots, attackers attack without no confrontation from the military is very poor and sad. There must be resistance, that is why we must look at embedding indigenes who are government security operatives in communities across Nigeria, with automatic arms and weaponry and sufficient ammunition, embedded, living in communities, so in times of attack we have a counter force, a resistance of well armed men before the military convoy back up arrives. A community without no resistance is just a sitting duck, resistance is necessary one form or the other. When the terrorists see that their numbers reduce after each attack, they will think twice about attacking, they keep attacking because they are not being killed. State police, a well built police force of indigenous people of the state will go a long way to also help, state police can bear automatic weapons, for now the state governors should work on implementing state police. You can not fight terrorists with Dane guns, it is very naive or mischievous to use Dane guns to counter AK 47/49 and machine guns...this idiocy or mischief must end. This is terrorism, the APC government must sit up, women and children are killed point blank range, destroying farmlands, this is an act of deliberately trying to displace people from their communities, this is barbaric.

Less partisanship loyalty, more loyalty to Nigeria and it's development, by utilising public funds on the people, accountability is key. The people must benefit from our resources, whether it's through subsidies, welfare, concessions for reduced prices of goods etc. Government must provide good road, water, housing and security for the people. |
This is the job of governors and local government chairmen to ensure in their locality that apartments are fitted with toilets and to build public toilets in their states and localities. |
General Attahiru death is very suspicious, that is one man that was making visible progress against terrorists, I don't know what these ones are doing now. |
Obi is desperate, why moving from one party to another, now in a party of the North, lol |
OMBIIGA:Dangote have the capacity, he should do distribution...big companies like Nigerian breweries, Coca-Cola, thermocool do their own distribution to direct consumers, this cut off extra costs for the consumers...by cutting off middle men. |
In the least the judge should prosecute him for leading a proscribed terrorists group, releasing him will be bad for our fight against terrorism and banditry in Nigeria. He actually led the group, a prima facie case of that has definitely been rendered by the prosecution, the evidence are everywhere online, posted by Kanu himself and acknowledged by the followers of the militant wing of the organisation. |
States must determine their faith. Full resources control State police State laws on security and preserving their culture. We also need one parliament, two houses is too expensive. The president should not have the powers to employ INEC chairman and attorney general of the federation, the parliament can decide who the INEC chairman will become, based on recommendations from respected Nigerians activists, etc, and organisations with integrity, should be someone well versed in the area of assignment. The attorney general should be a legal luminary of repute, the parliament can debate between candidates selected to choose one. |
bobbiiee:Most poor people unless those with the fear of God or with an elevated mind and mentality will give in to their natural survival tendencies and see the affluent as a way to food, especially in an area or society where they have the upper hand...live among your kind. |
Equality, freedom are what nature intends for humanity, that is why man has free will. |
Their stolen wealth should be traced |
Pythagoras001:There are intelligent ways to do subsidy, Dangote can get trucks and deliver it himself to filling stations. Subsidy is how he can give back to Nigerians for being his main customer base down the years. |
Dangote as a private company mobilise your own trucks and deliver directly to filling stations, under this subsidised system, use NNPCL and get your own filling stations or choose credible partners. Marketers are greedy... marketers have no right to tell you not to buy trucks and distribute your subsidised fuel. Do it to give back for righteousness sake, you are giving to the masses who need it. |
Good move |
Commendable... follow the supply lines, infiltrate their operational system. Good intelligence work. Information is everywhere in communities, among the locals and in the systems, transportation systems, religious systems...Okada unions, trailer unions, commercial and local logistics movers... |
Ofunaofu:Always remember nobody invited you, you went there to make profit, your going there benefits you. Don't let it go to your head, outgrow the need to shalaye. The only reason we talk in this is because everyone see us as Nigerians. |
