Lagos should ban all those indiscriminate scrap dealers, and bola boys, most of them are thieves, they steal manholes, power cables and engage in robberies...they are so dirty moving around Lagos in their millions carrying bags around, this is not how a mega city is...take them back to where they come from the North.

It is shameful for this administration to try to shake down a renowned activist like Pat Utomi.

Nigerians are not wise, their money is with state governors, senators, this is the money appropriated to their states and constituencies, but they let the governors and senators/house of assembly members loot in peace and they all focus on president, I say focus on both but even more on your state governors and constituents representatives because this is the money accrued to your people. Focusing on just the president is either great mischief or ignorance and disservice to the development of the states and localities across Nigeria...every adult should understand and assimilate the principles of seperation of powers and the roles of each arm of government. If the senators/house of representatives members are not doing it right, we must call them out and vote them out, because they are there representing us in governance, the senators are there to represent the people, they swore an oath to the people, monies are appropriated to them to cater for their constituencies, I wonder why adults don't understand this simple principle.

1. Well, I am not defending any politican here, just showing that GEJ was not the gentleman you guys portray him to be. He did send the DSS after enemies, and his wife had her own personal attack er K9 in the NPF...who once jailed two journalists for 'insluting the honor of the first lady' (it took the intervention of the current Oba of Lagos, who was the guy's superior when he was in the force, before the journos were relased).

2. And anyw ay, DSS Is meant to go after anyone who they perceive to be a threat to the government..after adequate intelligence (and Utomi's shadow government does not really constitute a threat).

Pat Utomi is a renowned activist, he is speaking from a place of good faith...not political party with sinister motives and modus operandi. The two scenarios are very different..
I wonder why you people give all your power to politicians, even if you are an APC member, when politicians want to take away civil rights, every sensible conscious person will stand on the side of freedom of expression and allowing public space operate and give their own opinions freely... democracy is about the people and constitution not about the feelings or fears of political office holders.
