The fear of people who don't look like you, is the origin of your problem.

Are there criminal minded herdsmen? Yes there are, same way we have criminal minded edo, yoruba, igbo or igbira men.

Criminality is not exclusive to any tribe, and it is not empiricaly correct that the herdsmen in Edo, commits more crime than other tribes in Edo state.
Criminality is different from terrorism and kidnapping people and hiding them in the bush. 80% of terrorists are same tribe, evidence are everywhere, even recent killings in Benue, was carried out by fulanis according to reports of locals interviewed. What do you gain by being a devil's advocate?

Or are you their tribesmen?

this is true. When i was serving in abia state i encountered them when they came to my PPA. The cows belonged to the village high chief. For every two cows born they get rewarded with one. No salary. Imagine
Most times the herders own those cows, and traverse the lenght and breath of everywhere looting, maiming and usurping communities, using cows as disguise. Every bad news, who do you hear?

Most times you see these herders with their cows in the middle of nowhere, in thick forests...the cows belong to the herders in most cases.

Southern Nigeria People need to wake up

CrimeRe: Herders Protest Alleged Illegal Detention Of Members by dederocs(m):
Miyetti being in any state is a threat to that state, outlaw this group from your state, they serve no use. Groups have no powers constitutionally, states can outlaw groups, since they are synonymous with open grazing herding and that has been banned, effectively miyetti should be banned from all southern states, they serve no purpose but to mobilise fulani herdsmen who are enemies of the people, the same fulani herdsmen killed people in Benue, Kogi, Edo. Remove fulani herdsmen and miyetti from southern Nigeria.

Miyetti is being bold because their wings have not been clipped, they ought to be called in for questioning, they definitely have information to give on the killings, they know the herdsmen bandits, they are their members

This is a very interesting question. I think it is important for us to stay abreast of the laws of the land.

The law allows you as a registered hunter to hunt anywhere in the country. Whilst there may be good reasons to question this law, as I often have to do myself, it is the position of the law today.

Now, as a southerner I think that our representatives and senators may need to do more to enlighten the people about their rights. There are certain organisations that we overlook but they may be important for our survival.
Show me the law, liar.

Registered with who, our state government or who?

Even if such laws exist, state can have their own laws, just like Kano and some states have blasphemy laws, and sharia laws, southern states must have their own laws to keep terrorists and kidnappers from north with guns from the south.

Show me the law, quote it, liar.

Afrojuju2017:
It is okay for every Nigerian to bear legal arms, if you want to own a Dane gun today you can register and own one. I don't know why this useless Edo security network are going after hunters, hunters and vigilant across Nigeria usually use these Dane guns under licence and they do travel across state lines without issue.

I have a copy of the Nigerian firearms Act which is actually very old and possibly not fit for modern purpose, I can post it if you want, it makes long rifle with a calibre lower than 0.22 legal to own, shotguns are legal if they are semi automatic, the licence and subject to the approval of the IG and can also be withdrawn.

They should be going after kidnappers, and fighting real crime not making a mockery of what has been daily life for hunters across Nigeria.

The kidnappers must be delighted because with less hunters entering the forests and reserves they'll have the place to themselves and be able to carry out their nefarious acts.

We've been advocating for return of forest guards and forest patrols who do we expect to take the jobs if not the hunters who already have fore knowledge of the forests and bushcraft.
Northern hunters should secure North that is ravaged by terrorists iswap, bokoharam, they should help themselves. Every state have their own hunters, let them go hunt their fellow northerners.
CrimeRe: Edo Security Network Arrests Four Armed Travellers In Benin by dederocs(m): 9:12am On Apr 14, 2025
Mr Monday work for Edo people not fulani, not northerners not Tinubu.

Take federal government to court if they resist, issue automatic guns to members of Edo security network.

All Northerners in Edo should be registered and issued ID card, and all the ones hiding in the forests should be flushed out. Anyone staying in the forests except the Edo state security network operatives should be treated as a terrorist/kidnapper.

Edo state belongs to Edo people not northerners, we don't go to the north like that, they should stay in their region, their ways are different from ours.

A security chief said it "protect yourselves army can not be everywhere, FG can not secure Nigerians" and he is very right, Edo state parliament must pass laws that gives 10 years imprisonment to anyone caught in the forests. In the North they have sharia law, states have the right to have laws, we must create laws that protect the people of Edo state.

All of you peddling rumours about allegations on Mr president, stop peddling fake news, Tinubu was known to come up through working with Mobil, people saw how he came up.

All the drug allegations and nonsense must be put to rest, a US judge has spoken. We must support our president to do the right thing not malign and criticize unnecessarily.

Let's talk about the price of fuel, depreciation of naira, let's talk about what the senate and house of representatives are doing in those chambers...are they there representating Nigerians or representing their pockets?

Let's talk about issues and public offices, public expenditure and accountability, and not personality.
PoliticsRe: Deji Adeyanju Celebrates Tompolo At 54, Hails Him As Niger Delta Emancipator by dederocs(m):
Celestialsword:
Yes,he fought for the freedom and emancipation of Niger Delta at a time when there was zero development in the place, despite the fact that they contribute 80% of the nations wealth.

He was labeled militant to give him a bad name in order to hang him.

The people of Niger Delta doesn't see him as such,it was his activities that forced the government to grant amnesty and commenced the amnesty program.

Many Niger Deltans and non Deltans alike benefited from the program,

Many were sent abroad to continue their education and to aquire various skills.

He is the peoples general as he has personally empower many people especially the youths in Niger Delta

He is never a bad man as claimed by the state,he was a fighter for his rights.
The cause they stood for was noble and necessary, most people know this fact.

The oil spillage and degradation of farmlands, fishing lakes and clean water, affecting the livelihoods of the people of the Niger Delta are real issues.

The fact that the Niger Delta need to control it's natural gift, oil asset or get a bigger share in the sharing formula is just common sense.

Reference:
If there is a proper structure the governor will have no powers whatsoever to do that. The police will arrest and prosecute and the judge will sentence.

The reason why he is doing all these is because the present system is overwhelmed and they donot know what to do with the hoardes of captives.

And the system is overwhelmed because there is no clear policing structure.
You are right, shows a weak structure, prisoners are responsibility of justice department, the governor or politicians have no right to release prisoners.

You won't say you will release captives because you don't know what to do with them, if you want to release people release petty thieves, even drug dealers but not terrorists, and of course build more prisons.

So also did Liberia, sierra Leone, Germany, the old Soviet union, Rwanda,Japan, etc, etc
That was different, it was reconciliation after war, but this terrorist problem is an ideological problem, indoctrination, they will never change about how they fee about infidels.

Your comparison is wrong, those countries didn't have terrorists but rebels and warring tribes, they were fighting for political reasons, it's different from a terrorist that wants to change us all to extremists muslims and build caliphates, there is no meeting point between a terrorist and a reasonable human being.
