Islam for Muslims / Islamic Finance Is Becoming So Attractive That Even Non-muslims Want In by Deen4me(m): 6:18pm On Mar 07, 2019
Islamic finance has traditionally been dominated by Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Now much of the rest of the world is getting in on it.

Buoyed by the perception of more tranquil market conditions and an improving regulatory backdrop, issuance of Islamic debt by non-Muslim countries is set to climb to a three-year high in 2017, according to Dealogic data.

Islamic financial products comply with Sharia, or Islamic law, and are based on the principles of risk and profit-sharing. Sharia prohibits earning interest on loans, and it bars funding activities involving alcohol, pork, pornography or gambling.

The value of sovereign sukuk, or Islamic bonds, issued outside the Middle East and Southeast Asia by non-Muslim countries reached $2.25 billion in the 11 months through November, data by Dealogic showed. That’s higher than 2016′s $2 billion and more than double the $1 billion recorded in 2015.

Islamic finance’s metamorphosis from a niche corner of global banking to a growing source of funding for rest of the world has been aided by a storied list of borrowers who have sold sukuk in recent years.

The government of Singapore was one of the earliest non-Muslim entrants into the space, followed by the United Kingdom, Luxembourg and Hong Kong, which issued their first sukuk in 2014. More recently, African nations such as South Africa, Nigeria and Ivory Coast have made legal and tax changes to, among others, make it easier for borrowers to issue sukuk.

Companies haven’t been far behind, with the likes of Goldman Sachs and General Electric’s GE Capital also selling Islamic bonds in the past few years.

Chinese entities such as Country Garden and Beijing Enterprises Water Group have also issued Islamic bonds through their Malaysian subsidiaries in 2015 and 2017, respectively. The companies used those proceeds to finance projects in the Southeast Asian country.

Experts said the global financial crisis spurred governments and companies to diversify their funding options. Islamic finance is seen as a more stable alternative to the conventional banking system and therefore appealed to borrowers still haunted by the gyrations in global bond and equity markets when the U.S. housing bubble burst, they added.

In addition, the asset class has also attracted the attention of investors taking a more ethical approach to managing their money.

“Heightened appeal for sustainable and responsible investing could also be driving the growth for Islamic finance due to the commonalities in values and shared principles,” Ruslena Ramli, head of Islamic finance at Malaysian credit rating agency RAM, told CNBC.

Variety of categories

There are several categories of Islamic financial products, according to the World Bank:

Mudaraba — a financial expert offers specialist investment advice to a customer and they share any profits at an agreed ratio.
Musharaka — an investment partnership in which two or more parties, such as the bank and its clients, share profits and losses from a pooled investment at an agreed ratio.
Murabaha— the financial institution buys the asset, such as a home or a car, and sells it to a client at a profit. Payment could be in a lump sum or in instalments.
Ijara— the financial institution buys the asset and leases it to a customer for a fixed rental payment. The bank retains the ownership but may transfer that to the client eventually.
Sukuk — similar to a bond but a sukuk buyer owns part of the underlying asset that is invested for returns.
Sharia principles, which prohibit “speculative-type of businesses,” ensured Islamic finance products were less volatile when global financial markets were rumbled during the debt crisis, said Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, the secretary general of the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation.

“The crisis that took place was a result of excessive speculation, which is harmful. Islamic finance has avoided such pitfalls,” he told CNBC.

Growing, but still small

Yet, the involvement by those outside the Muslim world is still “sporadic,” experts said. The Middle East and Southeast Asia still account for a large majority of Islamic financial assets. In the sovereign sukuk space, Middle Eastern countries raised $11.85 billion in the 11 months through November, followed by Southeast Asia at $3.96 billion, Dealogic data showed.

Total Islamic financial assets have grown by 10 to 12 percent annually over the past decade to hit $2 trillion. But at less than 1 percent, they remain only a small fraction of global financial assets, according to the International Monetary Fund.

One hurdle standing in the way is the lack of standardization, Fitch Ratings said. Currently, different jurisdictions interpret Sharia differently and there is also variation in how Islamic finance products are structured. Differences in how disputes are resolved and reporting standards are monitored add to the complexity.

“In some cases, there is still little standardization even at a local level, while in others, progress would be needed on a regional, or international, basis,” Fitch said in an October report.

Such divergence in interpretation can deter investors and the progress to resolve that issue will likely be “slow and patchy” given the scale of the challenge, Fitch added.

Experts told CNBC that notwithstanding the challenges, the Islamic finance sector is still poised for growth. The industry’s size is expected to expand further to $3.5 trillion by 2021 as countries and companies look for alternative funding sources, and tap a larger pool of investors.

As an example, Maybank’s head of global banking business, Arshad Ismail, said the sukuk market allows issuers to attract both Muslim and non-Muslim investors and therefore widen their sources of funds.

The financing costs for sukuk are also “generally similar” to conventional bonds as there is more expertise to execute such transactions now, which adds to the product’s appeal, he added.

Islam for Muslims / Celtic Supporters Fly 'jerusalem Is Palestine' Banner by Deen4me(m): 9:36pm On Dec 11, 2017
Despite the fines levied on the Scottish club last year by UEFA for political statements, Celtic FC fans are at it again.

During a match at Edinburgh’s Easter Road stadium, Celtic football clubs’ supporters showed

their displeasure with Trump’s announcement recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital,

by raising a pair of banners before kick-off.

The banners read:

Jerusalem is Palestine. F*** Trump.

Last year, the fans’ display of the Palestinian flag during a UEFA match against an Israeli team got the club fined £82,000.

In response, the fans decided to raise an amount equal to the fine, not for the club, but for Palestinian refugees.

So with a target of £82,000, the fans raised over £160,000 for Palestine.

Palestinian refugees at a camp in Bethlehem, in response to the solidarity shown by the Celtic fans,

decided to raise money to pay the fine imposed on the club.

A perfect response to the video above

For those who love to quote the Quran out of context, kindly watch the video below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvM6i1aJz0s

Its gives a concise explanation of the most popular verse non muslims like to quote "Kill them where you find them verse"

And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you,
and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there.
But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Q 2:191-192

This verse addresses those that come to the Quran with bad intention and not for good guidance , you will find what ye seek, as explained in the verse below

" .......He misleads many (by the Quran) thereby and guides many (by the Quran) thereby. And He misleads not except the defiantly disobedient (those with corruption in their hearts)"

Quran 2:26

And Allah Knows best.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Can I Continue With Taraweeh After Ramadan by Deen4me(m): 12:00pm On Jul 08, 2016
Tarawih Prayers are basically Tahajud prayers which all muslims are encouraged to make a habit of in or out of ramadan

The hadeeth of Abu Salamah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmaan, who asked ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her), “How did the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) pray during Ramadaan?” She said: “He did not pray more than eleven rak’ahs in Ramadaan or at other times. He would pray four, and do not ask how beautiful and long they were, then he would pray four, and do not ask how beautiful and long they were, then he would pray three. I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, will you sleep before you pray Witr?’ He said, ‘O ‘Aa’ishah, my eyes sleep but my heart does not.’”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1909; Muslim, 738

They said: This hadeeth indicates that the Messenger of Allaah was consistent in his prayers at night in Ramadaan and at other times.

Islam for Muslims / How 100,000 Britons Have Chosen To Become Muslim by Deen4me(m): 8:51pm On Apr 27, 2016
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1343954/100-000-Islam-converts-living-UK-White-women-keen-embrace-Muslim-faith.html

About 5,200 people in UK adopted faith last year alone

The number of Muslim converts in Britain has passed 100,000, fuelled by a surge in young white women adopting the Islamic faith.
The figure has almost doubled in ten years – with the average convert now a 27-year-old white woman fed up with British consumerism and immorality.

The numbers, revealed in a study by multi-faith group Faith Matters, have led to claims that the country is undergoing a process of ‘Islamification’.

But the organisation’s report argued that most converts saw their religion as ‘perfectly compatible’ with living in Britain.
It said: ‘Converts do not represent a devious fifth column determined to undermine the Western way of life – this is a group of normal people united in their adherence to a religion which they, for the most part, see as perfectly compatible with Western life.’

Convert: Lauren Booth, the sister-in-law of former Prime Minister Tony Blair, attracted a lot of publicity when she announced she had adopted the Islamic faith last year

The report estimated around 5,200 men and women have adopted Islam over the past 12 months, including 1,400 in London. Nearly two-thirds were women, more than 70 per cent were white and the average age at conversion was 27.

In 2001, there were an estimated 60,000 Muslim converts in Britain. Since then, the country has seen the spread of violent Islamist extremism and terror plots, including the July 7 bombings.
Converts who have turned to terror include Nicky Reilly, who tried to blow up a restaurant in Bristol with a nail bomb, shoe bomber Richard Reid and July 7 bomber Germaine Lindsay.

But the report said the number of converts sucked into extremism represented a ‘very small minority’.
The survey, conducted by Kevin Brice from Swansea University, asked converts for their views on the negative aspects of British culture.
They identified alcohol and drunkenness, a ‘lack of morality and sexual permissiveness’, and ‘unrestrained consumerism’.
More than one in four accepted there was a ‘natural conflict’ between being a devout Muslim and living in the UK. Nine out of ten women converts said their change of religion had led to them dressing more conservatively. More than half started wearing a head scarf and 5 per cent had worn the burka.
More than half also said they experienced difficulties after converting because of negative attitudes among their family.

Islam for Muslims / Imam Ahmed's 10 Golden Advise To His Son On His Wedding Day by Deen4me(m): 7:14am On Dec 13, 2015
Dear son, you will not attain good fortune in your home except by 10 characteristics which you show to your wife, so remember them and be enthusiastic in acting upon them.

~ As for the first two: women like attention and they like to be told clearly that they are loved. So don’t be stingy in expressing your love for your wife. If you become limited in expressing your love, you will create barrier of harshness between you and her, and there will be decrease in affection.

~ Ladies hate a strict, overcautious man, yet they seek to use the soft vulnerable one. So use each quality appropriately. This will be appealing for love and it will bring you peace of mind.

~ Ladies like from their husbands what their husbands like from them. i.e, kind words, good looks, clean clothes and a pleasant odour. Therefore, always remain in that sate.

~ Indeed the house is under the sovereignty of the woman. While she remains therein, she feels that she is sitting upon her throne and that she is the chief of the house. Stay clear of destroying this kingdom of hers and do not ever attempt to dethrone her, otherwise you will be trying to snatch her sovereignty. A king get most angry at he who tries to strip him of his authority, even if he portrays to show something else.

~ A women wants to love her husband, but same time she does not want to lose her family. So do not put yourself and her family in the same scale, because then her choice will be down to either you or her family. And even if she does choose you over her family, she will remain in anxiety, which will then turn into hatred toward you in your daily life.

~ Surely women has been created from a curved rib, and this is the secret of her beauty, and the secret of the attraction towards her. And this is defect in her, because ‘the eyebrows look beautiful due to them being curved’. So if she errs, do not rebuke her in a manner in which there is no gentleness, attempting to straighten her; otherwise you will simply break her and her breaking, is her divorce. At the same time do not let her off upon that mistake, otherwise her crookedness will increase and she will become arrogant with her ego. Thereafter, she will never soften for you and she won’t listen to you, so stay in between the two.

~ It is in the women’s nature to be ungrateful towards her husbands and to deny favours. If you were to be nice to her for her whole life but you grieved her once, she will say, “I have never seen any good from you”. So don’t make this attitude of her make you dislike her or to run away from her. If you dislike this feature of hers, you will be pleased with some other good habits within her, to create a balance.

~ Surely there are times when a women goes through some conditions of bodily weakness and fatigue of the mind. Such that Allah has relieved her some of her compulsory worship during that period; Allah has totally pardoned her from praying, and has postponed the days of fasting for her within this break to a later date until she regains her health and becomes normal in her temperament once more. Thus, during these days, treat her in a godly manner. Just as Allah has relieved her of the duties, you should also lessen your demands and instructions from her during those days.

~ Last but not least, know that a women is like a captive with you. Therefore have mercy upon her.

Islam for Muslims / Basic Adkhar For Protection After Prayers by Deen4me(m): 12:19am On Oct 28, 2015
Salam Alaikum

There are some very basic routines to follow for adhkar after each prayer.

I will outline the "shell" below to which you can add the various other duaas:

FAJR - After salah recite ayatul kursi / ikhlas x 3 / falaq x 3 / nas x 3 / add the duaas for morning and evening from the book called "the fortress of a muslim"

DHUHR - After salah recite ayatul kursi / ikhlas x 1 / falaq x 1 / nas x 1

ASR - After salah recite ayatul kursi / ikhlas x 1 / falaq x 1 / nas x 1

As the sun is going down before maghrib - read the duaas for morning and evening from the book called "the fortress of a muslim"

MAGHRIB - After salah recite ayatul kursi / ikhlas x 3 / falaq x 3 / nas x 3

ISHA - After salah recite ayatul kursi / ikhlas x 1 / falaq x 1 / nas x 1

Again, this is just a basic "shell" to which you can add whatever words of remembrance from the sunnah that you wish.

For example, after each prayer reciting subhan'Allah x 33 / alhamdulillah x 33 / Allahu akbar x 33 followed by Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer (There is no god except Allaah Alone, with no partner, His is the power and His is the praise, and He is Able to do all things)

Make this a habit and you will see benefits insha'Allah, as well as increasing protection against the shayateen.

Your adhkar are like a coat of armour over and above your aqeedah and salah.

Please share so others can also benefit

Once again, we find an astonishing situation with a simple solution.

The imam of a small community has the answer for abortion - Read

Imam's Advice on Abortion smiley

Recently a young woman carrying a tiny infant came to visit the imam (prayer leader) of the local mosque and explained -
"Imam, I am so depressed and you are the only one who can help me!"

The imam asked what her problem was, and she continued -

"First of all, I just had my first baby only a few months ago, and now I am already pregnant with my second baby. I am exhausted, I am worried about my health and we have very little money. So, two children right now is just not possible."

The imam asked -
"So what is your question, sister?"

She replied -
"Well, I want you to give a fatwah (Islamic ruling) that it's OK to perform an abortion operation and get me out of this problem"

The imam just sat there, without saying a word for a while, then he looked up at her and said -
"I believe I have the best solution for your problem, health wise, safety wise and money wise - and it will all be over in just minutes"
The young woman breathed a sigh of relief and smiled as her face grew brighter -
"So, you will give me the fatwah to have abortion right away?"

The imam shook his head from side to side, and then gave a firm look with his eyes as he began to explain a plan -

"No. Another idea. You said you don't want two babies at the same time. You want rest. Your health is a concern. You want this over with quickly. And you don't have a lot of money.
So, my idea is simple, easy, safe and best of all it's free!"

She sat up, wrinkled her brow and with tightly closed lips, she managed a whisper . .
"What do you mean?"

The imam replied -
Well, just kill the boy in your arms ~ then rest up until the other one is born.
You don't have to take care of 2 children - AND you don't suffer or risk your life with an operation for abortion.

She interrupted the imam . .
What are you talking about . .?"

The imam continued . .

Well, if you're willing to kill one of your children, what difference does it matter which one?
So, there's no danger to you, you get rest, peace and don't have to deal with any kids until the next one is born.
And the best part is it is safe for you - and FREE!
So, what do you think of my idea?
As he got up from his chair and reaching toward her to give him the child in her arms.

Just then she jumped up and backed away, squeezing her little boy to her chest and almost screaming, she said -
"Are you crazy? What kind of imam are you? That's horrible! Kill my child? - that's murder! - a terrible crime! You should be ashamed!"

The imam sat back down, smiling and he said -
"I totally agree. But after all, you seem to be OK with killing one of your children.
I was only offering to make easier for you and save some money. Sounded like the best solution to me, you know?
If you understand it is murder, then perhaps it is you who should be ashamed . . .

The mother pulled her child even closer, hugging him and suddenly started crying -
"Oh my God! What was I thinking? How could I even think about myself over my own child. My baby! My baby!"

The imam smiled, aware he had made his point. She now understood clearly, there's no difference in killing a child who is wrapped in your arms or in snug your womb. It is still taking a life - an innocent child's life.

"Dear sister, Islam teaches us ~ taking any innocent life, is as though you have killed all of humanity - but saving the innocent life is as though you saved all of humanity"

Some call abortion - "Freedom of choice".
Islam considers that a child is not a choice -
It's your baby, your child, your legacy - a human being, just like you.

Read What Quran Says About Killing Children (for any reason):

Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment, and do not kill your children out of poverty; Allah will provide for you and them.

And do not approach immoralities – what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed] except by [legal] right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason."- [Allah's Quran chapter 12, verse 9]

. . (Allah) has decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption in the land – it is as if he had killed all of mankind. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved all of mankind.- [Allah's Quran chapter 4, verse 34]

And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked for what sin she was killed? - [Allah's Quran chapter 81, verses 8 & 9]

Arabs before Islam, considered it a very bad sign to have a daughter born to them and a very manly thing to do to take a new born baby girl out to the desert then bury her alive in the burning sand.

Regarding those who have asked about "suicide" - here is what the prophet, peace be upon him, had to say:

"Whoever throws himself down from a mountain and kills himself will be throwing himself down in the Fire of Hell forever and ever.
Whoever drinks poison and kills himself will be sipping it in the Fire of Hell forever and ever.
Whoever kills himself with a piece of iron will have that iron in his hand, thrusting it into his belly in the Fire of Hell forever and ever."

Islam for Muslims / 10 Facts & Benefits Of Zam-zam Water by Deen4me(m): 6:06am On Mar 13, 2015
Bismillah

1.The Story of how it came to be

This accurate account of the origin of Zam-zam holds with it an exquisite message…

Hajar (Alayhis salaam) made use of the small amount of food that Ibrahim (Alayhis salaam) left for her and her baby, but ran out eventually and was soon thirsty and hungry-her milk dried up, her baby Ismail (Alayhis salaam) became hungry and began to cry. Hajar couldn’t afford seeing her son in pain so climbed up the hill which was later called As-Safa, to see if there was anyone in the horizon. She saw no one. She then climbed down, and reaching the valley, ran to the other hill, later called Al –Marwa, doing the same again, all this time her son twisting and turning in hunger. She repeated this seven times, and on the 7th time reached the top of the hill and heard a sound. To her amazement she found it coming from beneath the feet of Ismail (Alayhis salaam).

At that point Jibra’eel (Alayhis salaam) began digging the well of Zam-zam from beneath his feet. Hajar was excited to contain the water, it being a desert and so arid and dry-the water would seep into the ground, and she tried making a pool to contain it.

The Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wasalam) said, (may Allah have mercy on the mother of Isma’eel)”If she had left the water, (flow naturally without her intervention), it would have been flowing on the surface of the earth.”
{Sahih al-Bukhari 3365,Vol. 4, Book 55, Hadith 584}

So because of her efforts to contain the water, Zam-zam amazingly became a well.

Hajar-before the water was brought out of the ground, running in search, probably heart-broken and crying in pain at the suffering of her son, did not know what Allah was preserving for her in the future.
If she knew that a time would come when millions from all parts of the world would follow in her footsteps, she probably may never have cried. And one can only imagine her reward in the hereafter if that were her reward in this world.

So when experiencing challenges in life, remember that Allah may be hiding something for you in your future.

2. Its Names

The names of Zam-zam are many, over 60 according to some experts and scientists, its names derived from its characteristics. Some of the familiar ones are:

Murwiya (derived from the Arabic word meaning ‘quenched’)
Shabbaa’a- (derived from ‘satisfying’)
Maymouna

3. Positive Energy

Within Zam-zam is an ingredient different to other waters, which heals and helps energetic and cell systems within the human body. The German Scientist Dr Knut Pfeiffer, and head of the largest medical centre in Munich, has studied Zam-zam with his colleague and assistant Husam Othman. A miracle in itself is that the Zam-zam specimen they studied still extraordinarily increased dramatically the energetic fields in human cells having travelled from Saudi Arabia to Munich, sustaining climate changes, probably having gone through an X-ray machine at customs, and then being stored for approximately two weeks. The opposite reaction would exhibit with other types of water especially if stagnant for some time, including water from Munich which is considered chemically pure.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The best water on the face of the earth is the water of Zam-zam; it is a kind of food and a healing from sickness.”
{Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3302}

4. Uncontaminated

Zam-zam has been flowing from the Ka’aba for over 4000 years. Samples taken from all water sources in the world contain some germs in it. Through studies by Doctor Yahya Koshak (expert on Zam-zam) it has been proven that Zam-zam does not contain any contaminants. It is an established scientific fact that pools or water wells tend to grow vegetation such as algae– especially in warm climates. Amazingly this is not the case in the well of Zam-zam. It has remained free from biological contaminations.

5. Its Purity

Evian – water from the highest part of the French Alps is renowned for its high mineral content and purity, and high percentage of bicarbonates (357mg/l). Murwiya contains 366mg/l of bicarbonates, and is purer, in fact the purest water on earth.

6. Healing Nature

Scientific proof shows that Zam-zam contains healing components due to its higher content of calcium and magnesium salts and natural fluorides which present germicidal properties.

It was reported in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to Abu Dhār, who had stayed near the Ka’bah and its coverings for forty days and nights with no food or drink other than (Zamzam): “How long have you been here?” Abu Dhār said, “I have been here for thirty days and nights.” The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, “Who has been feeding you?” He said, “I have had nothing but Zamzam water, and I have gotten so fat that I have folds of fat on my stomach. I do not feel any of the tiredness or weakness of hunger and I have not become thin.” The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, “Verily, it is blessed, it is food that nourishes.”
{Narrated by Imam Muslim, 2473}

7. The miracle of its Origin

Mecca is built on a mass of igneous rock, and due to the process in which they form, these rocks have no pores and – due to partial melting of the minerals of which the rock comprises -cause any existing pores to close up. Science tells us that water reservoirs can only exist in rocks that are highly porous and permeable. Geologist Dr Zaghloul Al-Najjar, head of The Committee of Scientific Signs in the Quran and Sunnah states that this simple and great fact verifies the sanctity and holiness of the land.

8. Hadith substantiates its Science

Origins of the water was a mystery until tunnels were dug around Makkah, where engineers and workers found hairline fractures in the solid mass of rock that stretched for kilometers in either direction through which Zam-zam was seeping out, extensive fractures which could only be caused by a mighty impact. Sunnah states that it’s because of the strong blow with which Jibra’eel Alayhis salam struck the earth that Isma’eel Alayhis salaam was able to drink.

The well isn’t that deep, 30 metres in fact of which 13 metres or a little less are filled with compressed sediments from the valley which don’t allow water to flow out. Below this is about 17 metres of igneous rock through which the water flows through these long hairline fractures in the rock, where it gains its high mineral content beneficial to both the body and soul of man.

9. It Manifests for what it is Drunk

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The water of Zamzam is for whatever it is drunk for.”
{Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 3062}

This is a hasan hadeeth. A myriad of cases exist that testify to the healing nature of Zam-zam. Drinking Zam-zam with the sincere intention of fulfilling a need, such as healing a physical ailment, being freed from poverty or distress, even achieving calm in the wake of any type of anxiety, gives way to Allah fulfilling these needs. One could continue drinking it until one is completely healed.

The Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasalam used to wash his chest with Zam-zam to gain courage and relieve anxiety through Allah’s grace, before visiting the heavens; he would drink it and use it for Wudhu.

10. Water fasting.

Water fasting isn’t something new, and has even been done during the time of the Prophet (Sallalahu alayhi wasalam).
Revisit the hadith in point 6:

{Narrated by Imam Muslim, 2473}

Some of the positive benefits of a 48 hour Zam-zam fast are an increase in the number of blood platelets and increased immunity through an increase in white blood cells, as well as a detoxifying effect on the body. Murwiya (Zam-zam) also increases hemoglobin levels, which result in increased energy levels. Testimonials state that these fasts eradicate morning breath, and hunger pangs, also providing a noticeable nourishing effect on the body.
