Politics / Why Does Jonathan Want Another FALCON 7X JET ? by Deen4me(m): 7:19am On Dec 25, 2014
Culled From Facebook

If the President of the United States of America, the most powerful country on earth and the largest economy in the world uses just two Boeing airplanes (both are shown in the photo below) & one helicopter in his fleet,

what is the President of Nigeria doing with about a dozen aircraft? Is he an angel flying to heaven?

If the Pope, the head of the largest Christian Church on earth with over 1.2 billion members (that is almost 20% of the world's population) does not have his own private jet but flies Alitalia, the Italian national airline,

what is a Nigerian cleric doing with three jets?

If the President of Zimbabwe, who has ruled the country since 1980 uses a Boeing aircraft which is part of the national carrier (Air Zimbabwe) and he has to share the plane with passengers at times,

what is Governor Amaechi doing with a private jet?

If President Ian Khama of Botswana, the country with the highest Human Development Index in continental Sub-Saharan Africa and one of the fastest-growing economies on earth is using just one jet,

what is President Jonathan doing with his garage of alonplanes?

If the President of Egypt, the largest country in North Africa and the Arab World, the third-largest in Africa is using one private jet,

what are our governors doing with fleets of private jets?

If I list out the governors & ex-governors in Nigeria that have private jets, you go shock even though they are not paying salaries.

If the President of Ghana flies just one Falcon EX 900 jet,

what is our president doing with two Falcons, one Gulfstream and he wants another one, for what?

Israel does not even have any private jet for their prime minister or president, anytime any Israeli Head of State wants to travel, the government leases an aircraft from El Al Israel Airlines Ltd, the national flag carrier of Israel and they pay.

That is the same Israel that Jonathan will pack his fellow comedians like Suswam, Jang and Akpabio to go and do show while they refuse to pay salaries at home. And that makes sense to you, right?

Japan is the world's third-largest economy by nominal GDP and the world's fourth-largest economy by purchasing power parity and also the world's fourth-largest exporter and fourth-largest importer and the nation with the highest life expectancy on earth. But as rich as Japan is, they have just TWO jets for the Prime Minister, the Emperor, Empress and other members of the Imperial Family.

The most influential leader in the world, the President of Russia, has two Ilyushin Il-96-300PU jets for his use, and just in case you don't know, Russia has the largest mineral and gas deposits IN THE WORLD and is one of the largest producers of oil and gas in addition to being one of the five recognized nuclear weapons states.

King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand is the richest royal on earth yet na only ONE jet hin and hin entire family dey use.

The King of Jordan uses one jet.

The President of Kenya uses one.

As unusual as North Korean leaders are, they use two.

The Emir of Kuwait uses one.

Namibia, one.

South Africa, one.

Luxembourg, one, and that is one of the richest nations on earth.

Madagascar, one, which they just bought.

Malaysia, one.

Niger, one.

Queen of England travels on chartered British Airways flights.

So many world leaders use JUST ONE AIRCRAFT while some don't even have any presidential jet

and many of them actually beg or lemme say hustle for lifts with their other president-friends,

as in the case of President Cyprien Ntaryamira of Burundi and his ally,

President Juvenal Habyarimana of Rwanda before the Falcon jet they were in was shot down in Kigali leading to the genocide in 1994.

Very few countries of the world have a large presidential air fleet, Nigeria is one of them.

Oh, I forgot. The King of Saudi Arabia is one of the richest people on earth but guess how many aircraft he has for his use? TWO. And they are not even Falcons, they are 'ordinary' Boeing 747s.

You may not agree o, but there is something wrong with our value system, and that is if we even have any.

Witches? Ah, puleez! By the way, if President Jonathan had any human feeling, he would start selling some of those jets.

After all, in June 2012, to reduce the government spendings and implement austerity measures, Joyce Banda, the female president of Malawi decided to sell her country's only presidential jet & a fleet of 60 luxury cars & cut her own salary by 30%.

But guess what? When she wanted to come for an event in Nigeria in July 2013,

Jonathan gladly sent one of the jets in the presidential fleet to go fetch her from Lilongwe and return her home after the event.

This is the same presidential fleet that he used the princely sum of N747 million to fuel.

And who paid that money? Whose taxes? Nothing less than N9 billion is spent every year maintaining Nigeria's PAF.

If you say I hate cluelessness, so be it.

Islam for Muslims / As You Are Dressed So Shall You Be Adressed by Deen4me(m): 12:32pm On Dec 15, 2014
Culled from Face Book

After two months in Zamfara, my libido had dropped a great notch. I could pass for a monk in thought and deed. These ladies were graciously and totally wrapped. No curves to behold, no stray cleavage and bra strap, no busts, no bum; nothing to mess with your head or thoughts and get your mind trying to figure out whatever is under that see-through top. Living there had some sort of purging effect on my sight and consequently my mind.

The sacred parts of a female’s body gradually started to become sacred again and seemed to earn a right to be covered, and for once, I began to admire and respect both the Hijab, and the ladies who make a habit of wearing it. And oh yes: I did find that brazen immorality was very low in this part. The vibe was more like – ‘if-you-want-her,-marry-her’ rather than the ‘if-you-want-her-then-get-in-her- pants’ idiosyncrasy that’s predominant down South.

It seems our ladies just want to go naked. We’ve watched the skirts grow shorter and ‘huggier’. We (everybody) let them wear two- legged apparels for sports and better covering; they turn it to ‘bum shorts’…perhaps for want of fabric. They change from pants to tight as undies, but knowing they had tights on...they started to sit anyhow. The tight is now leggings, which they used to wear with a long top to cover the bum. Today, in our faces, the long tops disappeared, leaving us with plain skin tight - a brazen case of underwear going to school, work or church. Nowadays they don’t even wear pants with it, and it’s getting even more transparent! Today they wear see- through tops with a flawless bra underneath. Their tops must reveal bra straps somehow, and the cleavage must come pouring forth!

Truth is, a lady who ‘shows some flesh’ torments a man’s senses far more than a totally nude one, for men are turned on hard by sight. Their imaginations run wild; they get hooked; soon they become willing victims all their lives. Women know this, I am sure.
I sometimes wonder how many young men out there are addicted, perverted, and sexually bedeviled by a few stray sights they happened upon on the street all because a sister wants to be called ‘sexy’.

We lament that faithful husbands have flown from amongst women, we decry ill-gotten wealth. We lament that standards have fallen, that men ask for sex to give women jobs, roles, marks, admissions, favours, contracts, money. And the United Nations cries – emancipate the woman! However, by your dressing you suggest that ‘sex’ is a currency you are willing to pay in and start up this vicious circle of promiscuity that’s killing the society.

Jay-Z sings fully clothed from skull to foot; the ‘add-on’ lady simply wears thongs and wiggles her butt? I feel certain that if a bill is passed banning certain clothes in public, women will vehemently protest their right to be naked, tell us we are living in the stone ages all over again; and fill us with all that ‘woman emancipation’ mantra. Consequently, our three-year-old boys have learnt to poke at their sisters and classmates, because you showed them how.

Our sons approach puberty, the site of nudity on the streets pushes them ‘pornward’, and by 15, they have pierced themselves with many sexual sorrows. Such a boy will grow to be a philanderer, a pedophile, an abuser of women and an unworthy father. See how you make perverts out of us. See why you must stop!

We all are culpable. From the man who calls her ‘hot and sexy’, speaking more from lust than love, to the lady who courts attention at all costs, selling womanhood short. From the father who’s not always there, to the mother who feels she’s just being like her generation…and refuses to scream, correct and insist. From the media or marketing professional who feels – sex sells, to the customer service and public relations peeps who think this lewdness is the best way to reel in customers. From the designer of these kinds of clothes, to the ‘stars’ who teach our kids that this is how to be. We all are!

Hence, if women cannot all wear Hijabs like the Moslem women do, at least get a moral one, dress modestly!

Fashion / Beards Keep You Young, Healthy & Handsome, Says Science by Deen4me(m): 5:27pm On Jan 10, 2014
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Trim the moustache and let the beard grow; be different from the Magians (Zoroastrians).” Bukhari & Muslim

Source : http://worldobserveronline.com/2013/04/15/beards-keep-you-young-healthy-handsome-says-science-2/

Gentlemen, they’re not just for hipsters and the homeless any more. While both dead sexy and totally awesome, beards are also a boon to your overall health. Researchers discovered that men with beards and moustaches actually enjoy numerous benefits including, but not limited to, instant handsomeness.

A study from the University of Southern Queensland, published in the Radiation Protection Dosimetry journal, found that beards block 90 to 95 percent of UV rays, thereby slowing the aging process and reducing the risk of skin cancer. Got asthma? Pollens and dust simply get stuck in that lustrous facial hair. Additionally, all that hair retains moisture and protects against the wind, keeping you looking young and fresh-faced. What’s more, shaving is usually the cause of ingrown hairs and bacterial infections that lead to acne.

Have you tossed your razor in the trash yet?

To conduct the study, researchers left bearded mannequins, along with less attractive, follically-challenged ones, in the blistering sun of the Australian outback and then compared the amount of radiation absorbed by each.

But don’t forget to take care of those blessed follicles; beards can also spread infection if not properly cared for and make consumption of certain foods (e.g. cheeseburgers, corn on the cob, falafel sandwiches—anything with hummus actually, bagel ‘n’ schmear, syrupy pancakes) rather laborious. Fuzzy-faced men would be wise to take advantage of beard wash and beard oil, essential tools for looking and feeling your beardy best.

Islam for Muslims / Edmonton Police Approve Hijab Headscarf Design For Female Officers by Deen4me(m): 8:15pm On Dec 07, 2013
Edmonton police have approved a design for a hijab headscarf for female officers of Muslim faith.

The hijab design covers the head and neck, but not the face, according to a press release issued Friday.

EPS currently does not have any applicants requesting to wear a hijab but police wanted to be proactive and

“reflect the changing diversity in the community, and to facilitate the growing interest in policing careers

from Edmonton’s Muslim community,” as stated in the release.

“Regardless of race, culture, religion, or sexual orientation, it is important that anyone who has a calling to serve and protect Edmontonians,

and passes the rigorous recruitment and police training standards, feel welcome and included in the EPS,”

said Kevin Galvin, EPS Superintendent representing the Chief’s Muslim Community Liaison Committee in a release.

The EPS Equity, Diversity and Human Rights Unit, and the EPS Tactics Training Unit developed a prototype with the assistance of a hijab tailor.

Police said the changes to the traditional garment have also been supported by members of Edmonton’s Muslim community.

Islam for Muslims / Quran Verses On The Walls Of Harvard University by Deen4me(m): 5:11am On Dec 06, 2013
The US Harvard University has posted a verse of the Holy Quran at the entrance of its faculty of law, describing the verse as one of the greatest expressions for justice in history.

Verse 135 of Sura An Nisa (women chapter) has been posted at a wall facing the faculty’s main entrance, dedicated to the best phrases said about justice.

“O ye who believe!
Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses
To Allah, even as againstYourselves, or your parents,
Or your kin, and whether
It be (against) rich or poor:
For Allah can best protect both.”

This chapter, was revealed in Medina after the Prophet’s hijra (migration) from Mecca in 622 CE.

As the name of this surah implies, An-Nisa’ mainly deals with the responsibilities and rights of women in Islamic society,

but it also touches on inheritance and family law along with slavery and temporary marriage.

In this verse, the Qur’an is addressing the importance of truthfulness in testimony.

Harvard University was established in Cambridge, Massachusetts,

in 1636 as the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States.

Islam for Muslims / Makkah Tower Retains Its Place As 2nd Tallest Building In The World by Deen4me(m): 2:16pm On Nov 14, 2013
It is proven in Saheeh Muslim in the hadeeth of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allaah have mercy on him)
that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said,
when Jibreel asked him about the signs of the Hour: “When you see the barefoot, naked,
destitute shepherds competing in the construction of lofty buildings.”

Ibn Rajab said, commenting on this hadeeth: What is meant is that the lowest of the people
will become their leaders, and their wealth will increase, until they compete in building
tall buildings, and adorning them.

Al-Nawawi mentioned the same meaning in Sharh Saheeh Muslim, where he discussed this hadeeth.

Saudi Gazette report

JEDDAH – Standing tall at 1,972 feet (601.07 meter), the Abraj Al-Bait Tower, also known as Makkah Royal Clock Tower, has been declared the second tallest building in the world by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, considered a world authority on supersized skyscrapers. Only Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which is 2,717 feet (828.14 meter) tall, surpasses the Makkah Clock Tower in height.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat announced its decision at simultaneous news conferences in New York and Chicago on Tuesday.

It recognized the under construction One World Trade Center in New York— at 1,776 feet (541 meter) high — as the tallest skyscraper in the United States and the third tallest building in the world.

Makkah Clock Tower already holds several world records. It is the tallest clock tower in the world and has the world’s largest clock face.

The structure has the second largest floor area of any structure in the world with 1,500,000 m2 (16,150,000 sq ft) of floorspace, surpassed only by New Century Global Centre in Chengdu, China, which has a floor area of 1,700,000 m2 (18,300,000 sq ft). Measuring the height of a building would seem to be a simple thing, but in the case of the new World Trade Center tower it is complicated by the 408-foot (124.36-meter)-tall needle atop the skyscraper’s roof.

The Council’s verdict rested on a conclusion that the needle should be counted as part of the building’s total height. Without it, the tower would be just 1,368 feet (416.97 meters) tall, the same height as the original World Trade Center. That would make it smaller than not only the Willis Tower, but also a 1,397-foot (425.81-meter) apartment building being built a short subway ride away near Central Park.

Speaking at his office in New York, council chairman Timothy Johnson, an architect at the global design firm NBBJ, said the decision by the 25-member height committee had more “tense moments” than usual, given the skyscraper’s importance as a patriotic symbol.

“I was here on 9/11. I saw the buildings come down,” he said. Over the past few months, the Council had hinted that it might be open to changing its standards for measuring ultra-tall buildings, given a trend toward developers adding “vanity height” to towers with huge, decorative spires.

Islam for Muslims / A Man Begged Me . by Deen4me(m): 5:05am On Nov 13, 2013
Culled From Face Book

A man begged me

Today as I was standing outside Vauxhall train station waiting for my client to meet me, a young man approached me (He looked Asian) , he greeted me by saying: Assalam Alikum. He then asked me if I was from that area and I said: No. He said: I am sorry to take your time but I know if I stop anyone else they won’t stop to listen to me but I know you are a Muslim and I trust you will give me a minute of your time and he kept apologizing. I asked him what he wanted, and he said he forgot his bag in the bus and his ticket to go home to Brighton was in the bag, he kept swearing that he just needs a ticket to go home and that he will give me his email and details so when he gets home he will send the money back to me. He was begging like I have never seen before, his eyes almost started tearing…… I must admit I was first so skeptical and I wanted to walk away from him because we see so many like him on the roads of London and they always stop you to tell you a long story to beg for money, but when I looked at his eyes and the way he was begging, he didn’t look like a drunk to me, neither did he look like a drug addict!!
A small voice inside me told me: Wadhha, just help him and it is between you and Allah and him and Allah. So I gave him the money and he kept saying let me give you my details, I said No, it’s Ok…..he kept thanking me like 5 times before he left and ran to the ticket machine….he then shouted Thank you again from the ticket machine…… Before he goes in to the station he shouted again: thank you …..

As I was waiting for my client I took a moment to think of this incident and I said to myself Subhana Allah….the way he was begging me with eyes full of hope, I could not say No to him, even though I wanted to and even though I could …… then I asked myself a question: Why don’t we ask Allah SWT the same way?!!! Why don’t we go to him begging for what we want with eyes full of tears and with so much hope?!!

If I am only human and the Mercy I have is considered one from hundred Mercies as in the Hadith:

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: There are one hundred (parts of) mercy for Allah and He has sent down out of these one part of mercy upon the jinn and human beings and the insects and it is because of this (one part) that they love one another, show kindness to one another and even the beast treats its young one with affection, and Allah has reserved ninety nine parts of mercy with which He would treat His servants on the Day of Resurrection.

Can you imagine how the Most Merciful will respond if you ask him like that and he has the rest of the 99 mercies in store for you?!! Subhana Allah….indeed he is the most merciful…… this man begged me in a way a young strong man wouldn’t beg and he begged me for what? For a train fare……he begged that much for a train fare!!? How many major things do we need from Allah SWT? And yet we don’t take the time to sincerely beg him….. I asked myself over and over and I could not find an answer………………. I could not find an answer why we hardly make dua when we pray?...... Why when we make dua we are absent minded? Why when we make dua to the only one who can give us what we want we doubt the answer?

I then remembered this ayah: (And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised) (Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking.) Surat Al Dhariyaat ayah 22-23

And I said Subhana Allah….. Whether he was sincere or he was lying to me…. That money was his rizq today and I was just a reason from Allah, he made me go to that train station at that time and made my client late to meet me so I got to listen to this man and gave him his train fare……so I was just a reason…how Merciful is our Lord

I also remembered how much he thanked me, he kept saying thank you so many times I couldn’t help but smile and feel happy and didn’t care whether he was honest or lying. All those thank you were for a train fare!! How many train fares do you receive from Allah on a daily basis in other words how many blessings do you get from him everyday and how many thank yous do you say, another question that crossed my mind

Take time to think and reflect on what is around you my dear sister and you will see the signs of his mercy everywhere and you will understand your purpose in this life and you will appreciate what you have…. Alhamdulilah

deols: @Deen4me, You claim that it solves certain societal issues, like helping widows get married. Whereas there is no law asking the men to only have other wives out of pity for them or so as to spend on them.
Many a time they are driven by lust..and the social effects of that can even have grave consequences.

Not to sugar coat it

We should not connote negativity if any Muslim decides to marry based on physical attributes (as you put it lust). It is perfectly legal from the Islamic point.

Find references below

Made beloved to me from your world are women and perfume, and the coolness of my eyes is in the prayer.”

(Ahmad and An-Nasa ‘i)

Narrated by Abu Huraira (RA), Muhammad {PBUH} said:

"A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty, and her religion. So you should marry ...the religious woman [otherwise], you will be a loser.'"

(Bukhaari, 3/242; Muslim, 2/1086)

Whichever of the four reasons for getting married to a woman (1st,2nd,3rd or 4th), so long as its done in accordance to the sunnah, it s rewardable.

'Umar b. al-Khattab narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said:
Deeds are [a result] only of the intentions [of the actor], and an individual is [rewarded]
only according to that which he intends. Therefore, whosoever has emigrated for the sake of Allah and His messenger,
then his emigration was for Allah and His messenger. Whosoever emigrated for the sake of worldly gain,
or a woman [whom he desires] to marry, then his emigration is for the sake of that which [moved him] to emigrate."

Bukhari and Muslim.

Finally can you please educate me on the bolded statement above

Islam for Muslims / Re: Would You Marry A Second Wife If You Were Wealthy? by Deen4me(m): 10:16pm On Oct 28, 2013
Islams aims to solve societal problems by practical means

Not everybody likes polygamy, but my opinion is it should be encouraged.

.........And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good. (Q 4:19)

When I see what a lot of ladies go through either willingly or unwillingly under the guise of trying to get married.

Dignity and honour is thrown under the trailer.

Pressure from home, society, Biological clocks , a lot of wrong decisions are made.

I can only pray that my sisters never have to go through such.

And lets not forget the widows, chances of them getting remarried is slim and God bless you if you have kids in tow. cry

I believe a lot of the negativity stems from what society exposes one to, i.e Africa magic Yoruba etc wink

How our fathers practiced it without adhering the Islamic rules etc

@ OP

I don't think it is proper for a believer to connote negativity on what Allah has given approval for.

My advise to you is pray to Allah to give you what is best for you.

He may decide to test you with anything. Our prayer as believers is we pass those tests in flying colours.

We have a lot of sisters in their late 30's and 40's who are yet to get married, If reverse was the case would you still stand on your opinion

The point is explained by the Hadith of the Rasul (PBUH)

Anas relates that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.

Bukhari & Muslim

This one na banger ooo grin

On a more serious note, Lets look at the facts

Polygamy : a system of marriage whereby one person has more than one spouse

Polygyny : where a man marries more than one woman (Allowed in Islam)

Polyandry : where a woman marries more than one man (Not Allowed in Islam)

1 Islam did not introduce polygyny

Moses 2 wives (Exodus 2:21 , Numbers 12:1)
Abraham at least three wives (Genesis 16:3 ,Genesis 25: 1-5)
David -12 Wives , 3 Concubines (1 Samuel 18:27 ,1 Chronicles 3 1-5)
Solomon 700 wives and 300 concubines (1 kings 11:3 ,Songs 6:8 2 Kings 10:1)

2 : The Qur'an is the only religious scripture in the world that says, 'marry only one'

"Then marry those that please you of women
two or three or four.
but if you fear you will not be just, then (marry only) one " Q 4:3

3. Polygyny protects the interests of women and children in society. It requires men to spend on their additional wives and their offspring.

The Prophet(PBUH) says,
“When a man has two wives and he is inclined to one of them, he will come on the Day of resurrection with a side hanging down (paralyzed) Abu Dawud

4.Only a minority (10-15 %) of Muslims practice polygyny because of additional financial and psychological burdens of handling more than one family.
