The government should just allow dangote to sell kerosene n petrol at profitable price to Nigerians that's all,the government should just swallow it pride and cover their face in shame n let's move on in peace abeg.
There's definitely something dubious about the fuel situation in Nigeria,it appears to me that the government is finding it very difficult to continue with the secret but huge unknown subsidy it is paying due to the rate of the naira to the dollar currently in relation to the fuel price in the international market n the unwillingness of dangote to sell at the present price in the local market, normally in crude refining kerosene n petrol are usually first products,so it means dangote is also producing kerosene n petrol along with diesel but they are selling the kerosene n petrol abroad at better prices, the deceitful government of Tinubu should just swallow it pride, cover it face in shame n allow dangote to sell kerosene n petrol at the appropriate price to Nigerians after dangote is buying the crude at international rate even though they are paying in naira, you can't keep fooling everyone all the time.

I just can't get what Reno really want from obi,was it a must for peter obi to have built brand new schools?,did every other governor built brand new schools?,did peter obi not renovated or repaired any existing school in the state?, didn't peter obi executed any project in the educational sector during his tenure?,if Reno really n sincerely want to challenge Peter obi,he should be requesting for pictures of any project peter obi initiated n completed during his tenure n stop making a fool of himself over the social media.

The challenge itself is pure nonsense, why can't Reno request for any project at all, must every governor build a brand new school when even the existing ones are in sorry state?, didn't peter obi worked on any school through out his tenure?or didn't he achieve anything in educational sector during his tenure?, Reno is just trying to get at obi by all means,I use to admire his detailed write up but he has shown himself to be a hypocrite by supporting Tinubu, not because Tinubu is in APC but because of the personality of Tinubu as a person with all the dirty baggage he carries with him,it was same Reno that challenged Tinubu to sue him if he wasn't involved in drug trafficking in the US before but today same Reno is attacking peter obi while singing the praises of Tinubu.
The federal government shouldn't follow the IG advise as would lead to so many rumbling n problems in the paramilitary set up,rather the functions of the various bodies should be clearly defined n realigned,e.g the safety should solely be responsible for issuance n checking of vehicle particulars, overloading n all other safety checks, all traffic control n regulations, regulation of driving schools etc,the civil defense should be in charge of government civil buildings, hospitals, markets n malls, traditional rulers office n residents, schools etc, while the police should be in charge of highway security, police should only check vehicles for ownership proofs, use of government numbers, use of tinted glasses n the likes, general patrols, crime detection arrest, investigation n prosecution, protection of financial n high value national critical assets that can be subject to terror attack, protection of designated appointed or elected vip etc,all the armed paramilitary outfits should have special operations units well trained to participate in joint operations with the military when the need arises, this way stability would be maintained n efficiency would be improved,on the issue of state police, state that desire it should be allowed to have it, proper legal frame work should be form to guide their total setup n operations, state police would surely help to solve some of the security challenges, even the federal police is not immuned to abuse n arbitrary usage by the powers that be especially the president n the party in power.
jkpbestseries: Nigerians are the reason why corruption is so high. A penrobber used pen after sworn to an oath to govern with sincerity and stole billions that should have been used to develop the state. Here we are defending him
The real issue here is the Court, why should the court grant such request n make such order for God's sake.
You didn't answered my question,I ask you to state specifically how much the US is owing the countries you mentioned n not for you to give a general vague answer,I know the US owes but her debt is mostly internal debts which still shows the dept n strength of their economy,so once again can you be specific please.
GigdraftAdvert: Since the Internet accessibility in your area is restricted to just Nairaland, here is a few of the countries US is owing: Japan, China, United Kingdom, etc.
It's ok,you that have access to all the information in the world, can you specifically state what amount the US is owing each of the countries you mentioned just like the main thread writer did.
WorldRichest: So this idiot has only two Credits. It is saddening that the dullest among us are ruling over the brightest.
Imagine Peter Agulu Giringori Obituary who graduated with a 3rd Class in Philosophy ruling a state that produced Professor Chinua Achebe. Imagine Dino Melaye who graduated with a 3rd Class in Geography becoming a Senator representing Kogi State and attempting to be governor.
Go and check the history of Lagos governors, from the Governor Emeritus Emilokan Tinubu Jagaban (First Class Accounting graduate of Chicago State University), to Raji Fashola (Senior Advocate of Nigeria), to Akinwunmi Ambode (fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants) to our golden boy Jide Sanwo-Eko (fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers).
You can now see why other state indegenes have been rushing to come and slave in Lagos.
Abeg talk of others don't mention Tinubu with his imaginary n spiritual secondary school certificate n degree certificate from third party vendors in Chicago,he is the oga patapata of all the certificate forgers.
Warn your daughter now before it's too late, tell her the truth,if she no hear word go follow chop chop na she go suffer am ooh,de man said no be only him,if the pikin come resemble another guy for street nko?
I understand, Ladies normally give the pregnancy of their bastard fetus to this two category of men which are; 1. A RICH MAN 2. A BROKE BIG DICK & GOOD FUCKER MAN.
From my forensic observation above, This guy fall to the second category.
From the size of the dude nose, you will know he has a dick as tall and fat like an MTN Mast.
His dick which she could recognized distinctively from all other 1,000 varieties of dicks she has tasted, has even disfigured her shape.
Anyways, this might be one of their useless so called SKIT
deavicky: this news is like fourth years ago. By now she would had give birth if she kept the baby.
So the size of a man's dick is directly proportional to the size of his nose?,as an expert in such matters, the size of a woman's kpekus is directly proportional to which part of her body?
NairaOcean: President Tinubu, during a Ramadan Iftar gathering with traditional rulers and religious leaders at the State House in Abuja on Thursday, March 28, delivered a poignant message to Nigerians, urging them to refrain from cursing the nation and instead focus on changing bad leaders through the democratic process.
"The love of the nation is in your hands. Pray for our country. Educate our children. The sermons we preach to the members of our churches and mosques are important," President Tinubu expressed passionately.
In a call to action, Tinubu emphasized the power of the vote, stating, "Do not condemn your own nation. If a leader is bad, he should be voted out in the next election." Drawing on Yoruba wisdom, he added, "As a Yoruba man and as our fathers will say, ‘no matter how slippery the bottom of your child is, you must leave the beads there.’"
By 2026 this man should be prepared for for pre election suits, the revelations of Atiku's expository adventure in the US are not in vain,at least it's now a fact that Tinubu never attended any known primary school,he attended government college Lagos miraculously upfront, the so call third party vendors in the US must prove themselves then, a mistake is always a lesson for another day,the mistakes of 2023 shall be corrected in 2027.
charlsecy: The UK has a history of devaluing the Pound in response to economic challenges.
A major reason why the US wouldn't want to devalue her currency is because of her desire to maintain the Dollar as the number one reserve currency and associated benefits such as reduced borrowing costs, increased economic power and influence, elimination of exchange risk, and so forth.
Many countries keep their reserves in the Dollar and buy Dollar-denominated assets in the international market.
If the US devalued the Dollar, it would have negative effects on these savings, investments and assets. Plus, investors would lose confidence, and be reluctant to buy Dollar-denominated treasury bonds from the US government and assets. The US government uses treasury bonds to take out loans from international lenders.
So for the US to maintain the status of the Dollar as the number one foreign reserve currency, they shouldn't devalue the currency. Otherwise, countries would attempt to move away from the Dollar if they observed instability in its value.
Why can't countries have differently-designed, uniformly-valued currencies? Each country is unique and has specific economic and political interests and needs. Countries having their own currency gives them the tools to make monetary decisions based on these specific interests and needs.
All the countries can have different currencies of the same value, or even the same currency, only if they all have similar economic strengths and interests, and all economic parameters are identical in all the countries. But how practical is it that everyone is equal in every respect? Answer that!
Thanks much for your very wonderful n detailed response.
charlsecy: I think those countries deliberately manipulate their currencies to be weak against the US Dollar in order to discourage importation, and also boost their export base.
If a country's currency was weak, its exports would be cheaper in the international market, thereby making them more competitive.
Why do you think goods imported from the US or the UK are too expensive for most Nigerians? It's because of their strong currency relative to the Naira. So an export-driven country like China doesn't want her currency to be too strong so that Chinese goods would remain cheaper in the market.
If the Chinese currency were to be strong against the Dollar, Chinese goods would become expensive, which would lead to a fall in the demand for them. So China, because they are export-driven, prefers a "weaker" Yuan.
The reason why Naira depreciation is bad news is because Nigeria exports almost nothing, but imports heavily. If Nigeria were a heavy producer of exportable goods, people would hardly complain of the Naira-Dollar rates.
Even though I see a lot of sense in your explanations,I wonder why the US OR UK who are also exporting countries do not allow their currencies to be weak to make their goods attractive more so that they have higher quality?, secondly you appear very knowledgeable about economics so can you please help enlighten me why the world can not just operate currencies of same value even if they may be of different designs n names?, thanks anticipatory.
charlsecy: We hardly demand the currencies of the SE Asian countries. A large number of Nigerians demand the Dollar, the Pound and the Euro for importation and payment for services such as education and health.
Ok,why is the Chinese yuan, japanese yen and Korean won so weak against the dollar where as they are industrialized countries with high productivity?
Bluearrow: The strength of a nation currency is not determined by population, but by her productivity. An unproductive nation like ours with more population is even worse. All we do is import & spend, we produce nothing!
ok,we have heard of this productivity theory in relation to currency strength so many times, how do you then explain the weakness of the Chinese yuan, the Japanese yen or the Korean won against the dollar or are these countries unproductive too?
With Nigeria's population n market opportunities, the naira shouldn't be more than 200to a dollar,by the way can any economist explain how the naira is so low against western currencies but strong against SE Asian currencies of countries that are far more develop than Nigeria e g Japan china, south Korea etc?
drimzsmoke: Sir, whatever drink your friend bought from the aboki didn't kill him. And the clown I said earlier, I meant that as a joke, I'm sorry if it offended you.
It's possible your friend died of cancer, or probably has an underlying liver pathology that worsened with the use of the herbal concoction but not the drink!!!
