Just imagine the kind of voodoo economic experts we have in Nigeria!,by simple economics is dangote's fuel not supposed to be cheaper than imported ones n still make profit? or are the importers of the so call cheaper fuel charity organizations?, there's no doubt in my mind that there's certainly something dubious going on about the fuel situation in Nigeria which dangote himself appears to be helpless as he has been caged.but someday the truth will emerge.

I know that government could have made the price cheaper through pegging an exchange rate for sale to local refineries or selling crude cheaper locally. But they wouldn’t do it because they want to stop smuggling of refined petrol to neighbouring countries. There is no way petrol will be smuggled at 1200/litre to neighbouring countries. It is just not profitable. But government must do something quickly before they cause class suicide due to hunger and poverty. They must not also underrate the propensity to cause social unrest and revolution. They must do something quickly to reduce the pain on the people.

You are joking,now that the CFA is stronger than the naira, even at #1200 per litre our fuel would still be smuggled, it's only when the naira appreciate greatly n there's no subsidy that fuel smuggling would not be profitable or attractive,as it is now,let the subsidy go completely but let their be constant fuel gradually we would adjust to it n move on with our lives

It is clear that the opposition parties particularly pdp n LP do know what strategy to use in checkmating the APC rigging apparatus based on the present state of the electoral act,but there's a way out,since electronic voting n instant transmission of elections results is not mandatory for now,what the opposition parties should do is to go to court n get a ruling to make it mandatory for all elections results to be publicly announced at the polling units n the results which must be signed by all the accredited party agents at the unit before it can be accepted as a valid result,the results at the polling units must be pasted at the unit n every agent allowed to snap it.I said this because, from experience,I noticed that the worst rigging in form of results alterations, swapping n the rest always occur between movement from the polling units to the collation points so if the proper results are known at all the polling units I believe the rigging would be drastically reduced,the rigging may still occur were party agents sells out which is a possibility.Buy I wonder why the police that always get a copy of each polling unit result are never call upon to give evidence n produce their own results during litigations why?.

See dangote has been trapped by nnpc using the crude supply challenge dangote is facing,so dangote is just playing safe until he can find a suitable way out,the problem is this,at the present international crude oil price n naira exchange rate, importing crude would not be favourable to dangote as the product from such import crude procession would be high,it more favourable for dangote to get crude locally but nnpc controls that solely n this is what nnpc are using to play dangote,if the present administration is sincere a way can be found around the whole issue but for where?,the importers making noise,where were they all this while?,let them go ahead n let's see how it's going to end

There is something sinister about the involvement of NNPC with the dangote refinery operations,come to think of it,why can't NNPC sell the crude to dangote in naira n let dangote fix his own price n sell directly to his customers?,there was a story yesterday on another media that nnpcl will be selling to marketers at #765 while the marketers are expected to sell to Nigerians at between #850-#900 but no mention was made of how much nnpc would be buying from Dangote!,now assuming dangote is selling at #700,if marketers we're to buy directly at this rate then the pump price shouldn't be more than #800 or #850 at most which would be fair enough n going forward if the operations of the refinery can help to improve the rate of the naira the price could even decreased.Its now clear that all the noise all along was to create an avenue for the oil cabals to continue to feed off helpless Nigerians,most painful enough the government is undoubtedly not unaware or not part of it,I have a feeling dangote is not happy with this whole scenario but his hands are tied,someday in the future the whole truth would be exposed,why should something produced here in Nigeria has to go round so many entities before getting to the buyers?,why is this so particular with petrol n not other products?

Grandstar has broken down the cost of refining a liter of petrol. It is 720 naira. Add transport costs which are going to be high because diesel is not subsidized, and taxes and loan repayments , and you see the issue.

Let dangote speak for himself,but what I know is this,if dangote buys crude from abroad the refined pms would certainly be higher but if dangote can get crude from nnpc which is very doubtful,the refined pms would be lower in price,the government n nnpc are never sincere n transparent in this matter at all, it's such a shame.

The answer is simple

Once fuel starts coming out of the refinery, fuel prices will jump up to over 1000 naira. Otherwise, dangote refinery would be scrap in ten years time.

The tinubu government knows that if that happens it is game over for them. They may not even last till 2027.

That is the real reason..forget all this long story.

The government does not want to increase fuel price or remove subsidy. They know it would destroy them.

No, rather what I believe about all these is that,if dangote is allowed to freely fix his price it may be between #700-#800 per litre n majorly, dangote functioning fully will render all the numerous tank farms built for import business useless,cut out the massive corrupt benefits of the oil cabal n other looses,so they are all trying to ensure that dangote agreed to a price regime to cater for their continuos interests too.
