dnpasion: I sent my transcripts on the 24th Aug through Nipost Register Mail and when i tracked it a week after the date i sent it, i got a message dated and time August 29, 2012, 9:50 pm And Location of my Item is in ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS). I beg can anybody here tell me when will USPS deliver my package to my school in VA?Where is the destination of the parcel? Because if on the 29th August,2012, it already indicating New York, I am sure, all things been equal, the receiving university should have received it by now. However, you need to call the admission office of the school, to confirm if they have receive it. Best of luck. |
webstradamus: Some schools actually give full tuition waiver plus stipends for MS. I am a witnessWebstradamus, Welcome back to this thread, where have you been? I know you have been in yankee studying hard ![]() |

You see, the nipost tracking update does not reflect in most case the correct location of the parcel. Since u said you called usps and nipost and they confirm its already there in the US, I can only but advice you to exercise some more patient and also please support it with prayers. If you don't mind, where is the destination of the parcel? I seriously feel the destination of the parcel plays a pivotal role in the delivery time frame. Also, at times the present unforeseen circumstance can also casue a delay. Like the news of Hurricane Isaac coming up in Florida and New Orleans, do you think the parcel will not experience delay if it was heading to the same destination where the Hurricane is also heading? I wish you all the best and I pray we hear a good news regarding your parcel soon. |
obusco4lyfe: @house 4 those of u sayin it takes 10days for document to get to yankee thru nipost, i'm a living witness....no b true my pple. I sent my doc since d 8th of ds mnth, i cal'd my sch yesterday 2 confirm nd dey said dey hvnt seen any doc, i reach nipost office den tlk say d doc dn reach yankee. I no knw d one wey i go believe anyhw sha i'm jst relaxed probably afta d doc gets 2 yankee it stil takes smetym b4 gettin 2 sch. All d same God dey!Man, you should not refute the comment or contribution of others just because your experience differs. I have also sent parcels to the US and it used 10 days to arrive there. Lemme draw your attention to some salient aspects; the destination of the parcel is a determinant to it arrival. Some States even within the US take as far as 10 hrs to get there. Also, I think if you used the registered mail postage of Nipost, you should be given a confirmation slip which has a tracking number starting with RR and ends with NG. If so go on https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input and track it yourself. Best of Luck |
bigfrancis21: Nna men, I think say na GRE Analytical writing you dey writeI beg nor make me laff forget my name. When we learn, its good we demonstrate or put what we have learnt into practice or use. In doing so, we accelerate the learning process than when we don't. Regards. |
jimtosam: Greetings to everyone ... I am still trying to settle here in the downtown of Chicago. Successgreat is greeting you guys too..Trying to settle at Hammond, Indianna....@ jimtosam, If you that have just spent a few weeks in the US can come up with this didactic writeup about schooling and living in Yankee, I know assuredly with time you will with a more replete version. Kudos to you man. |
Ollydon: shey nobody wrote SAT n got scholarship ni?Sorry man, the reason why your inquiry has been left unattended to, is perhaps because most peeps here are graduate school applicants. Well, what exactly is your inquiry about? You need SAT reading material or you want to register for the SAT ? |
@ splashilicious, @deevick246... Many thanks for your advice. I guess I have to try harder to convince the VO that peace and conflict studies is not so synonymous with global affairs and human security, it is just one of the many field in GAHS.

If this is what you have resolved to do. I can only but wish you best of luck. Otherwise, I would have advice you show progression in your study line, by going for a phd since you already have one masters degree in a related field of study. |
@ splashilicious, @deevick246... good evening! Thanks for the advice. I have recheck my info on my DS160 form and it has no mistakes. let me take you thru my interview. VO: why do you wanna go to the US? ANS: I wanna go to the US to study VO: What course is that? Ans:Global Affairs and Human Security VO:why do you wanna study the course? Ans: to gain more understanding in peace and conflict studies from a global perspective, I also intend to work for an NGO in Nigeria and in the future manage one... VO: have you got experience Ans: yes VO: what University are we talking about? Ans: University of Baltimore VO: why the University? Ans: I chose to pursue a career in the university of Baltimore cuz of its well structured curriculum in global affairs and human security, and the urban location is a conducive environment for me to excel in my field esp as it related to social and community issues VO: What is your highest degree of education Ans: I have a masters in Peace and Conflict Studies VO: So why are you going for another masters in Global Affairs and Human Security? Ans: To gain more skills on how to resolve the world affairs VO: Am sorry i will have to deny you.... the rest his history please tell me did i not answer my questions well? the VO spent a lot of time interviewing me n i even tot he was gonna give me the visa. Advice me friends cos I wanna reapply soon. thanks

Well, going through your interview ordeal narrated above, you didn't include in it where the V0 said what you are saying is not in conformity with what is in your record. However, lemme draw your attention to some areas in your case. 1. VO:why do you wanna study the course? Ans: to gain more understanding in peace and conflict studies from a global perspective, I also intend to work for an NGO in Nigeria and in the future manage one... This is a nebulous answer, as it wasn't precise and direct. Bros, why didn't you cite the security challenge (BH) we are facing? That Nigeria is facing a huge security challenge which we haven't faced before since the history of this country and that the US has a credible record of fighting and conquering terrorism and so that is why you choose to study this course in a US university....this would have been very ideal for this question. 2. VO: What is your highest degree of education Ans: I have a masters in Peace and Conflict Studies VO: So why are you going for another masters in Global Affairs and Human Security? Ans: To gain more skills on how to resolve the world affairs......... It is very obvious that this was where you lost the visa. Why on earth would you pursue another masters degree in a similar field where you already had one? We should be talking about a Phd here and not another Masters degree. This interviewers are human and they can reason perfectly well, it doesn't sound logical to want to spend your hard earn dollars on a another master program on Global Affairs and Human Security? The VO would be thinking what have you done with the first masters degree.... You need to address some of this issues. Please, don't be in a hurry to show up for another visa interview without addressing these issues. This is just my advice. |
walex57: My fellow guys...I, allohrandy and successgrace will be leaving d shores of naija in a few hours time...pray for ur guys...wen we reach our various places we go halla...west coast here i come..Safe trip to you guys and may your sojourn in Yankee be marked with impeccable distinctions in your studies. |
splashilicious: Hi house, I am new here, pls I need your advise!I applied for student visa at the American embassy for fall 2012 but was denied initially on the reason that what i was saying wasn't consistent with what the visa officer has on the system. i really dont know what that means. my school resumes in 2 weeks time i have been up all night to get a date but all to no avail. Please i need your help. i heard some people can help get dates with a fee. i will appreciate if i can be guided properly. Thanks house. If the V0 said what you are saying is not in congruent with the information he is seeing on his screen, this is a serious issue which should be address before you go for another interview. You need to recheck the information you filled on your DS160 form. I doubt if this is not what the V0 is looking at... Or maybe you should try to remember the question in particular, where the V0 point at the contradiction in your information. |
ik.swiss:Let me start by commending you for being a solicitor for your friend. This goes to prof that you are a selfless individual. Now on your inquiry, I will strongly advice your friend not to get another passport, because he already got Cyprus visa on this his passport, which should count to his favour. But we need to clarify some salient point here, what is the US admission status of your friend? Is he a fresh undergraduate or transfer student? If he has undergone some level of university education in cyprus, it would be very easy to present or argue his point during his interview, "that he is going to the US to further his education because of the notable advantages the US education/university has over the Cyprus education/university". There is need for you to supply more information about the admission status (transfer or fresh undergraduate) of your friend before further advice can be proffered. |
king1_00: God is faithful. My visa was approved today in lagos by the last VO(counter 7 i guess) details coming shortly. Thanks guyz.Congratulations man, I knew you were gonna get it, remember I kept hammering on this to you. I am so happy for you. |
@ oyewolejos, I salute you man. Its feel good seeing a foundational guru of this thread coming around to drop a line or two. Your good words/ works speaks volume. I hail bruv. |
dr_dolittle: Thanks bro..it's not me. It is a friend of mine that wants to go to North Carolina. Thanks a lot though.Alright, you are welcome. |
obusco4lyfe: thanks 4 d info....where z ther office located?Go to any post office close to you and tell them you want to post a mail to the US as a REGISTERED MAIL. It should be less than 1K. I think the postage fee is calculated based on the destination but it shouldn't be more than 1K. All the best. |
obusco4lyfe: @house i went to FedEx office 2day and i was charged N9600(naira) to send document frm naija to yankee, small document'oo abt 20pieces of paper, e no even heavy at all. I tink dt amt z too much for document of dt size. Does any1 hv idea of a cheaper courier service dt delivers?Use Nipost, I mean the registered mail postage. The postage should get to the US on or before 10 days. It will shock you that you end up saving as much as 95% of the courier postage. Our naija postal service have improff tremendously dues to the fact that people are now use to e-messaging and also the competition from other much recognised and patronised postal/parcel organisation (Dhl, Ups and cos) |
@ dr_dolittle Did you say you are heading to North Carolina for your studies? If you are, hit me up on YIM, there is a long timer NL member who now resides at NC. That's if you would want to contact him. |
imperiouxx: My reply is modified but let's know one thing, the kind of mood of your question begs for the kind of answer you get and no doubt about it.@ imperiouxxx, I honestly didn't have the slightest imagination that you might mis- interpret my earlier but now edited post as if I was trying to shift blames on you for my refusal, why would I do that? or were you the V0 who asked for the GRE? For goodness sake, I didn't think it that way. Most times when I send you email and even send to your facebook account self...shei be you dey always say you are very busy and so you hardly reply and that I understand because of the heavy educational curriculum for yankee. Me nor blame anybody for my refusal ooo, I know say God's time is the best. Thanks for sending the GRE materials, I am already perusing them. That GRE sample questions tagged "this is the sweetest" is really sweet ooo, there is plenty of sugar and honey inside Thanks man. |
product: BrouvThanks man. Like I said in my earlier post, I have already resolved to differ my admission. I know everything will be fine. At everyone disappointed or downcasted as a result of my visa denial I am sorry and I hope and pray to make up for whatever heart disturbance I caused next time, I show up for the interview. And there is really no reason\need for quarrels here, I am a peace lover and me and imperiouxxxx are friends and will remain friends. So I plead let there be peace. Thanks. |
jimtosam: Imperiouxx, I really appreciate your concern to prove your point to the house but Email is private if not, you would have had address with no password. We love you and you have been so great. What you just did may make everyone in the house to be scared of sending you confidential matters by email cos one day issues may arise and you will paste it public. Thanks man. |
ferdiii: This attitude will never help you. So only u and him have private conservations? I know you are hurting but come on and help yourself. You are just too rude and that was why he pasted those close-to-nothing conversations! Some have gotten visas before and could not go or went and died. Help yourself guy!I am not hurting as you think, if I was do u think I would have the effrontery to paste my visa interview experience for the public consumption? At least a lot of people don't come back here to share their visa refusal experience here. I did because I owe the house that responsibility and going to America for my studies itself is not an end but rather a means to an end. See, God knows best and I can't question Him. You don't even know me that much to judge me that I am rude. I think I have made many friends here and a lot of them can testify if I have ever behaved immature to them. Let this issue lay to rest, in the first place this conversation did not include you in anyway. |
phy: @deevick246, it's painful that some VOs take the GRE thing too far, unfortunately, appeal process is a long route. If you still have time, I'll advise you write your school asking for a waiver letter for GRE, however, we don't know who the next VO is but I'm sure it's not going to be the same VO. I just feel you deserve the visa. Imperiouxx got it the second time because of the initial GRE stuff, you may want to borrow from his audacity. The issue is the resumption date for my school is August 10th and so I feel the time is short to start looking for emergency date and plus I want to nail the GRE exam self, I dey vex gan ni. I have already got my school informed about the development and I asked for deferment. Thanks man, you are well appreciated. |
free R1: Baba mi, no worry, we are still together, never say die! Your welcome party will be a big 1 in December, gbabe!!!BabaMI, as I use to call you , thanks a lot man. You are well appreciated, you be my man. The welcome party go tight gan ni lol. |
imperiouxx: @deevick246,I'm not transferring annoyance in anyway, well maybe if it appeared that way to you, I didn't figure it out that it might go that way with you, because of the way we are close. If you check my post that probably incited you, I already modified it. But if you feel pasting our private conversation (email conversation) here is right, because that's the way it is done in America, then no problems at all. |
Zone 2 Zone: @deevick246, it is so painful to hear about your story, Please don`t allow this to way you down. NEVER SAY NEVER attitude is what we need to be there. Am going to reapply too but I just have to wait to I amend my Bleep up before I return for my own VISA.Thanks for the words of encouragement. It is well appreciated. |
ferdiii: Easy guy, nobody dey carry that thing do anything.Just know Imperiouxxx is helping and not that he is ur agent.Na who say make you comment for wetin nor concern you? Did I ever say imperiouxx was my agent? Maybe you might need to know that myself and imperiouxxx do have conversation outside this thread. Please learn to mind your business. |
seedord247: Deviick. . . Chaiii i dey sorry for u guy.Thanks man. I am not giving up. |
Paywole: Am so sorry about ur denial its certain u will get it in your next trial cos you deserve itThank man. Sorry about yours as well. We will tell our success story soon on this thread. We all deserve it. |
@ imperiouxxx Why did you have to paste our email conversation in a public forum like this? Please I don't like it. I will request that you please remove it or edit it. I remembered you sent me the Toefl materials and what we are talking about here now is GRE materials. I sent you an email, or do you expect me also to copy and paste the email here in the public? Nah, I won't do that. Please edit this post as I requested earlier on. Thanks and thanks also for sending the GRE materials. |

. You sabi blow grammar o.
