ilrbell2005: Hi everyone, I am trying to defer my admission to January after my first application was refused. I got the deferral form from lambton college this morning. However it was clearly stated on the form that if my deferment is approved , it will deny me of any right to request a refund even if my application is refused .All fees will remain with Lambton. I pray I don't get refused but I'm just trying to be logical . Would you advise me to first request a refund and then defer or should I go ahead with the deferment ? I already paid half of my tuition. Thanks for your help

How did I say what I didn't know? Huh? I didn't fabricate anything, I only made reference to what the poster said was contained in the deferment form he received from Lambton College.

On the contrary I think the deferment letter he made mention of should have carried the exact wording he used regarding the tuition fee payment.

I guess he should counter check the letter, because if Lambton College deferment letter should stimulate that if TRV is not issued after deferment of the initial admission, the $6,649.49 first semester tuition deposit will be forfeited, I would unequivocally state that - its rather a stringent law, which should be avoided.

So how precisely did you apply? Was it that you sent your application ( filled application form and scanned documents) to Maple for onward processing to Lambton College or you applied to Lambton College but made the $50 application fee payable to Maple?

And noone should try do this ( not pay Sevis fee and show up for interview). I need not say this on a second thought, because I expect every studious follower of this thread to know better.

I remember a few years ago a guy actually paid his Sevis fee but the fee wasnt processed by the EcoBank staff in Seme for the reason that the Sevis fee website was down. The guy wasnt informed by the bank about the development, and to even make the situation worst his interview was a few days away and was to be attended at abuja. The guy had to travel to abuja from lagos without the Sevis fee receipt but went with the WU payment confirmation. Yet, he was sent out of the embassy because he didnt present the Sevis fee receipt. Hence, the reason I conclude your narration is spurious. However, you can prove it otherwise.

You need to clear the dust around this your transcript and visa approval. Clearly, everyone here knows before anyone shows up for the F1 Visa interview, the evidence of SEVIS fee payment is a core requirement.

I just don't know what to do. I called the office where I registered but the man keeps telling me stories and made me waste a lot of money.
I tried printing out my admission ticket online through my collegeboard account but the page keeps taking me back to "update my Profile" and it keeps telling me invalid email address. And this was the same email address I used in registering for the SAT. Please help because I'm confused, I won't be allowed to take the SAT if I don't provide the admission ticket. And I have been practicing for the SAT for more than 7 months nw. The devil is a liar, all my efforts won't just go in vain like that. I will advice you to go to GIEVA, they are the sole body representing College Board in Nigeria. There office is located at Marina, the same building housing Cast n Carry Marina. Go there will your complain I am too sure it will be attended to and solved within a short period. Best of luck.
