Glorify GOD, give GOD thanks for the gift of life, for amazing testimonies, for answered prayers.

Praying To Get Results

Hosea 6:2 KJV
[2] After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight
.

The Christian living is characterized by continuous prayers

1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
[17] Pray without ceasing.

We need to know what to do for our prayers to continue to command results.

1. We Must Engage In A Cry of Faith

Mark 10:46-47, 51-52 KJV
[46] And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimæus, the son of Timæus, sat by the highway side begging. [47] And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
[51] And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. [52] And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

The fervency of our Faith; our faith determines our spiritual life.

Habakkuk 2:4 KJV
[4] Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

There are levels of Faith

(No Faith)
Mark 4:40 KJV
[40] And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

(Little Faith)
Matthew 14:30-31 KJV
[30] But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. [31] And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

(Great Faith)
Matthew 15:28 KJV
[28] Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour
.

Faith is in degrees, faith also grows

How To Grow Faith?

1. Feeding On The Word
2. Praying In The Holy Ghost

Jude 1:20 KJV
[20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost
,

It takes the Prayer of Faith to quench the fiery darts of the devil.

Matthew 17:20-21 KJV
[20] And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. [21] Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

LORD, help me let YOUR Spirit to grow my Faith, and I begin to command results in my prayer life more than ever before in Jesus name..

Praying To Get Results

Matthew 7:7-8 KJV
[7] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened
.

We are expected to receive answers everytime we connect to HIM in prayers

Jeremiah 33:3 KJV
[3] Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Mark 11:24 KJV
[24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them
.

One of the benefits of Prayer and Fasting is Accelerated answers to prayers.

No answer means; either you have prayed amiss or you have not asked.

James
4:2-3 KJV
[2] Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. [3] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts
.

To secure answers, certain fundamentals must be in place;

1. Engage in Revelation driven prayers

Hosea 14:2 KJV
[2] Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips
.

GOD'S Word is GOD'S will on every subject matter

1 John 5:14-15 KJV
[14] And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: [15] and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him
.

Our prayer altar demands Revelation in order to secure the answers to prayers

Isaiah 43:26 KJV
[26] Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

Hebrews 4:16 KJV
[16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need
.

The altar of prayer is where GOD executes HIS judicial system

2 Things The Word Of GOD Represents

1. The Word of GOD represents the Laws of GOD

2. The Word of GOD are the judgements of GOD

When we come to GOD, let's not come casually, it is important for us to recognize we are in HIS court

Psalm 105:7 KJV
[7] He is the LORD our God: His judgments are in all the earth.

Isaiah 38:1-5 KJV
[1] In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. [2] Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, [3] and said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. [4] Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, [5] Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

The altar of Prayer requires the Word of GOD.

LORD, I receive Grace to engage effectively with YOUR Word on the altar of Prayer, seeing answers to every question and intercession in Jesus name

Thank You Jesus

[1] Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; For the faithful fail from among the children of men.
[2] They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: With flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
[3] The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that speaketh proud things:
[4] Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; Our lips are our own: who is lord over us?
[5] For the oppression of the poor, For the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.
[6] The words of the LORD are pure words: As silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Psalm 33:1-22 KJV
[1] Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: For praise is comely for the upright.
[2] Praise the LORD with harp: Sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
[3] Sing unto him a new song; Play skilfully with a loud noise.
[4] For the word of the LORD is right; And all his works are done in truth.
[5] He loveth righteousness and judgment: The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
[6] By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; And all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
[7] He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: He layeth up the depth in storehouses.
[8] Let all the earth fear the LORD: Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
[9] For he spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.
[10] The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: He maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
[11] The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, The thoughts of his heart to all generations.
[12] Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; And the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
[13] The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
[14] From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
[15] He fashioneth their hearts alike; He considereth all their works.
[16] There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: A mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
[17] An horse is a vain thing for safety: Neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
[18] Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, Upon them that hope in his mercy;
[19] To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.
[20] Our soul waiteth for the LORD: He is our help and our shield.
[21] For our heart shall rejoice in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name.

Lord Jesus, grant each one unforgettable encounters, and access to Your voice of answers. Let light break forth, and stop the way against every satanic assault against Your people in Jesus name

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD

From Scriptures, we understand that the prayers of the saints are ordained for answers from the LORD.
But why is it that some prayers are not answered?

Matthew 7:7-8 KJV
[7] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8] for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Mark 11:24 KJV
[24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Matthew 21:22 KJV
[22] And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

James 4:3 KJV
[3] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts
.

Praying To Get Results

Asking amiss is the same as not asking at all; no response.

From Scriptures, we discover sin is the disconnect with believers.

Isaiah 59:1-2 KJV
[1] Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: [2] but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear
.

Forgiveness is gateway to answered prayers.
Repentance is fundamental

1 John 1:9 KJV
[9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
.

We must not assume forgiveness, but must genuinely seek for it.

Proverbs 28:13 KJV
[13] He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy
.

Newbirth makes us vessels of mercy, but there is no mercy without confessing our sins and turning away from it.

Psalm 51:1-4 KJV
[1] Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: According unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. [2] Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. [3] For I acknowledge my transgressions: And my sin is ever before me. [4] Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: That thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

This is about confessing

Psalm 66:1, 18-20 KJV
[1] Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:
[18] If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear me: [19] But verily God hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer. [20] Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, Nor his mercy from me.

This is confirmation of forgiveness and mercy.

Forgiveness is available, but at the cost of repentance.

LORD, clear every barrier on my prayer channel. And whatever turns YOU off in my life, Jesus forgive me and renew me in Jesus name
.

Psalm 51:2 KJV
[2] Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin
.

Thank You Jesus

The Force reaffirms its resolute devotion to combatting heinous crimes such as this, and assures members of the public that efforts to rid off criminal elements from our society will continue relentlessly, ensuring the safety and security of all residents.

In another development, on the 3rd of January 2025, Police operatives attached to the Ebonyi State Command arrested 17 suspects in Enohia Itim village, Afikpo LGA for the murder of one Uromchi Okorocha ‘m’, who was accused by local youths of being involved in the killing of several individuals through alleged witchcraft and spiritual means.

The suspects had mobilized and apprehended the deceased, but instead of handing him over to legal authorities and committing to the rule of law, they decided to take laws into their hands, becoming judge, jury and executioner. The police operatives of the Uwanna Division mobilized tactical teams to the scene on a rescue mission but the angry mob had already killed and burned Mr Okorocha before the arrival of the Police team.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., condemns this act of jungle justice in totality. Citizens are once again urged to refrain from taking laws into their hands and report any suspected criminal activities to the nearest police division or formation around them for necessary action.

The efforts of the police are constant reaffirmations of the dedication to bring to book perpetrators of heinous acts of crime in our societies. The IGP once again reiterates the unwavering commitment of the Force to public safety and justice for victims of violent crimes. Citizens are encouraged to engage with security agencies, providing any information that may assist in the ultimate goal of creating a utopian society for all. The Nigeria Police Force remains ever committed to ensuring a safe environment for everyone.

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD
.

Four types of blessings we must endeavor to explore include;

1. Blessings of Obedience

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 KJV
[1] And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: [2] and all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God
.

Deuteronomy 8:18 KJV
[18] But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day
.

2. Parental Blessings

Ephesians 6:2-3 KJV
[2] Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; [3] that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth
.

3. Patriarchal Blessings

Genesis 49:22-26 KJV
[22] Joseph is a fruitful bough, Even a fruitful bough by a well; Whose branches run over the wall: [23] The archers have sorely grieved him, And shot at him, and hated him: [24] But his bow abode in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong By the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (From thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israelsmiley [25] Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; And by the Almighty, who shall bless thee With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lieth under, Blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: [26] The blessings of thy father Have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors Unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: They shall be on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren
.

4. Priestly/ Prophetic Blessings

Numbers 6:22-27 KJV
[22] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [23] Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, [24] The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: [25] The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: [26] The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. [27] And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.

Luke 4:25-27 KJV
[25] But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; [26] but unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow. [27] And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

Ezekiel 37:1-7 KJV
[1] The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, [2] and caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. [3] And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. [4] Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. [5] Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: [6] and I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. [7] So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

Matthew 10:41 KJV
[41] He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

Deuteronomy 34:10 KJV
[10] And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face

A Church's prophetic exchange is a spiritual exchange between two people, where one delivers a prophetic word to another. The recipient can choose to accept, reciprocate or reject the word

Biblical References For Prophetic Exchange
1 Corinthians 14:1-3 KJV
[1] Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. [2] For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. [3] But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

Ephesians 4:29 KJV
[29] Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Praise Is Key To Our Desired Supernatural Turnaround

Praise GOD
-

Exodus 15:11 KJV
[11] Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?

Stirring the supernatural in the midst of praise.
Praise as a lifestyle of gratitude and celebration of GOD'S faithfulness in our direction.

Among others, Praise turns situations from 'nothing working to everything working' like a dream of the night.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 KJV
[17] Although the fig tree shall not blossom, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labour of the olive shall fail, And the fields shall yield no meat; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls: [18] Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. [19] The LORD God is my strength, And he will make my feet like hinds' feet, And he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments
.

Joy and rejoicing in the LORD turns things around in our favor.

Psalm 67:5-7 KJV
[5] Let the people praise thee, O God; Let all the people praise thee. [6] Then shall the earth yield her increase; And God, even our own God, shall bless us. [7] God shall bless us; And all the ends of the earth shall fear him
.

2. Praise suspends the laws of nature to deliver GOD'S plans and purpose.

Romans 4:16-20 KJV
[16] Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, [17] (as it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. [18] Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. [19] And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: [20] he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

Psalm 114:1-7 KJV
[1] When Israel went out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language; [2] Judah was his sanctuary, And Israel his dominion. [3] The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. [4] The mountains skipped like rams, And the little hills like lambs. [5] What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? Thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back? [6] Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; And ye little hills, like lambs? [7] Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob;

The laws of nature tremble, and are suspended at GOD'S presence
Stop limiting GOD.

Praise as a lifestyle brings GOD'S presence down to us.
Acceptable Praise has its roots in gratitude.

You cannot be grateful and not be joyful. You cannot be joyful and not be praiseful. You cannot be truly praiseful and not be truly GOD'S presence-ful, and that suspends the laws of nature in our favor.

Psalm
56:4 KJV
[4] In God I will praise his word, In God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

You will be singing, dancing and celebrating GOD all through this year in Jesus name

Thank You Jesus

Give GOD thanks and praise that you are still on your feet and in the faith.
Every revelation in Scriptures is revolutionary in nature.

Praise GOD
Praise Is Key To Our Desired Supernatural Turnaround

It is attitude (praise) that determines altitude.
It makes GOD takeover our battles.
When Praise becomes acceptable to GOD, turnaround is the outcome.

Matthew 21:9, 12, 16 KJV
[9] And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
[12] And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
[16] and said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

When Praise goes up, GOD comes down to clear off everything mess that is buying and selling in our temple.
Expect that to be your experience

We can praise our way out of shame and reproach into glory and honor.

Psalm 50:23 KJV
[23] Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: And to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

Praise glorifies GOD, and GOD honors in return those who glorify HIM

1 Samuel 2:30 KJV
[30] Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed
.

May this be our experience all through this year and the rest of our lives in Jesus name.

Every truth of Scripture has a lifetime effect, they are not seasonal

Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
[18] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. [19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Luke 19:13 KJV
[13] And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

"Till he comes",
is your breath seasonal? Is eating food seasonal?

Every Scriptural truth revealed to us is for life

1 Kings 8:17-18 KJV
[17] And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. [18] And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.

Have a Vision for the things of GOD

Proverbs 29:18 KJV
[18] Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Matthew 24:45-47 KJV
[45] Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? [46] Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. [47] Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

We need grace for continuity of engagement with every truth of Scripture.
Kingdom
is a scriptural mystery

The altar of praise is the altar of accessing Heaven.

Grace to maintain an attitude of gratitude at all times, in celebration of GOD for all the good in our lives.

PoliticsFrom Providing Palliatives To Better Strategies For Empowering Nigerians- 2025 by DejiPlug(op):
We must move from providing palliatives to better strategies for empowering Nigerians in this New Year - Archbishop Martins tells Govt, Private Sector

1st January 2025.
Lagos, Nigeria.

Psalm 150:6 KJV
[6] Let every thing that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

The Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins has urged all Nigerians to be thankful to God in spite of all our challenges, knowing very well that many are not as blessed as we are to have survived the vicissitudes of life in 2024. This is not to play down on the fact that the living standards of many have become worse than ever before and begging to survive has become common place as we go on the streets of our towns and cities.

However, it is to say that we cannot afford to close the door on hope and trust in God as the basis for taking the required action to remedy the sad situations of many people. Be that as it may, we cannot but demand that governments at all levels should do far better in 2025 than they have done so far in order to stem the high rate of poverty in the country and improve the quality of lives of the citizens.

The prelate said, in a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Social Communications Director of the Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Anthony Godonu, that the move towards a qualitative, rather than palliative, empowerment of Nigerians through creating opportunities for skills acquisitions, provision of gainful employment, and soft loan opportunities for small and medium scale industries to thrive have become necessary because of their potential long-lasting positive impact on the nation’s weak economy.

While expressing dismay that a lot of Nigerians are finding it difficult to cope with meeting their basic needs, he noted that the onerous task of improving on the quality of lives of Nigerians through deliberate empowerment policies should also be the concern of the organized private sector and that is why a better enabling environment for businesses to thrive must be continually explored by government so that Nigerians would be better served. The increased cost of energy and other social amenities have made it difficult for businesses to thrive. While we recognize the fact that things must be better priced, it is also important that more opportune times need be identified so that the burden is not too heavy as to make life impossible for people.

In his 2025 New Year message to Nigerians, Archbishop Martins, while felicitating with all citizens of the country for the privilege of witnessing another New Year, also commended them for their resilience in the face of the harsh economic climate that characterized the better part of the out-going year 2024.

Archbishop Martins, while also thanking God for keeping Nigeria as one despite the numerous challenges she has gone through, said the New Year provides another opportunity for all Nigerians, the leaders and the led, to reflect on the journey so far and project on how to make the New Year more purpose-driven for the citizens. He said:

“As we enter into the new year 2025, we must take time, as individuals and as a people to reflect sincerely and honestly on our successes and failures in the past year so that we can work out ways of making 2025 a more fruitful year for all and sundry. Judging from the recent tragic events that marred the good intentions of some individuals and groups to provide palliatives for vulnerable Nigerians, we need to rethink our strategies for helping the poor and the most vulnerable among us. I believe it is time that government at all levels, the private sector operators, Non-Governmental Organizations, and other relevant agencies should begin to explore more ingenious ways of empowering the less privileged Nigerians through skill-upgrades and greater opportunities to be gainfully employed so that they provide for their families with dignity and not resort to begging for daily sustenance. I believe if this is effectively carried out, the high rate of poverty and unemployment in society will be reduced to a large extent and people will have a great sense of purpose in life. By so doing, we will not merely be giving fish to the hungry, but we will help to teach them how to build fish ponds that will sustain them and their families without resorting to begging.”

Archbishop Martins invites Nigerians to approach the New Year with optimism and with open-mindedness, love and tolerance towards all peoples irrespective of their religion or ethnicity. He further urged them to build on the successes of the outgoing year, learn the lessons that came with the challenges, and look forward to the future with hope and optimism.

Acts 16:25-30 KJV
[25] And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. [26] And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. [27] And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. [28] But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. [29] Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, [30] and brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
