Praise GOD Pipeline Protection: NDCV cautions FG for awarding contract to non-idigene security outfits, avert crises. By Fashina Shakiru. The Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard (NDCV) cautioned the Federal Government on Thursday for awarding contact for pipeline protection to a non-idigenous security company while denying the same privilege to the EEL Security company, the Ilaje indigenous security outfit, for the job. Akogun Omotuwa Job, National President, stated this is a statement he signed on Thursday and made available to Newsmen by his National Secretary, Chief Ajiroba Lucky. It is, therefore, shocking to read that the Ondo State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps( NSCDC) had a meeting with a non-idigene security outfit, Gallery Security Services, contracted by the government to secure our region's Ondo Waterways. The National President, NDCV, said we will not allow the plans by the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation Limited (NNPCL) to re-award the pipeline surveillance contracts to some ex-militant leaders in the Niger Delta region to carry out security monitoring of pipeline vandals because these people and security companies did not represent the Ilaje people in the South West; they cannot represent us in this region. He noted that Gallery Security Services and High Chief Bibopere Ajube, the Beleukoriowei, are not from Ilaje south-west, and he cannot represent the region or speak for the region; he should be in his own territory, not Ilaje territory. "All the oil wells in Ondo State are in Ilaje, in the south-west region. Because of this, the Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard is supporting the EEL Security Company to be in charge of IIaje, the longest coaster line," said Akogun Omotuwa Job. Meanwhile, the NDCV is already cooperating with all the security agencies to stop all the illegal oil activities in the region. The group is supporting the EEL Security Company and can as well partner with the federal government to secure the south-west region of the waterway to be in charge of the South West, from Ondo State to Lagos Water Way. We want Ilaje, Yoruba, and the south-west to reflect very well because all the oil wells in Ondo State are in their territory, not Ijaw territory. "We are calling for the review of the existing policy on the decentralization of the new surveillance project to accommodate leaders of ex-militants in Ondo, Ogun, and Lagos State to avoid an imminent crisis in the region." According to the National President, "The Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard (NDCV) is in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State and is a group of ex-militants who, under the Presidential Amnesty Program, submitted weapons and were granted pardoned in 2017 with a promise to be properly integrated into the Federal Government Amnesty Program with all accrued benefits. We established a forest camp in Ilaje Local Government Areas of Ondo State. The Ilaje covers the entire 120-kilometer coastline and 80% of the waterways in the state." Akogun Omotuwa Job's statement, which was titled, 'The call for immediate decentralization of pipeline surveillance contracts in the Niger Delta Region to avert crisis, consider Ilaje man for the job', read, “The plans by the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation Limited to re-award the pipeline surveillance contracts to some ex-militant leaders in the Niger Delta region to carry out security monitoring of pipeline vandals. It is on this basis that we are calling for the review of the existing policy on the decentralization of the new surveillance project to accommodate leaders of ex-militants in Ondo, Ogun, and Lagos State to avoid an imminent crisis in the region". The group, in a statement yesterday, copied the Federal Government, through the Office of the National Security Adviser, General Manager, Nigerian National Petroluem Cooperation Limited, Director of State Service, and Inspector General of Police, to be aware of the serious implication the neglect of this agitation could cause to the region. More so, when the contract is awarded to people who are not too familiar with the region, they add that everything is taken from our environment through pipelines and still deny us the opportunity to maintain those pipelines. On this note, we demand the following for peace to reign in the region: i.Decentralization of the pipeline surveillance contract to accommodate NDCV to cover the Ondo, Ogun, and Lagos State littoral corridors. ii.That NDCV has the capacity, the required intelligence, and human resources to collaborate with the Federal Government in the surveillance of pipelines and anti-bunkering activities in the area. iii. That NDCV is familiar with the terrain for effective and efficient output. iv.That we shall not allow or accept any deliberate attempt by the government or an agent of the government to impose someone from another region who does not belong to our ethnic nationality on us to sustain the existing peace in the region. We call on Mr. President to intervene in this and stop this disrespect to our region (the South West). "We are also very comfortable with the tremendous peace being enjoyed at the moment, and we want it to continue."

Praise GOD The rate at which prices of foodstuff continue to rise has generated a serious concern from citizens. This has become a topic of discussion by many as there is fear that acute hunger would persist across the country. Daily Trust on Sunday reliably gathered that in Kano State, prices of rice, maize, millet and other food crops have been increasing, almost on a daily basis, a trend described by many residents as worrisome and dangerous to human existence. Indices have shown that the inflation rate on food commodities has reached about 30 per cent, which is believed to be the highest in recent times. Findings have shown that a 100kg bag of millet is now selling in Kano at N51,000, 100kg bag of rice, N92,000 and 100kg of maize is N44, 000. The hike has affected almost all agro-commodities, forcing a sense of insecurity in terms of food supply. A grain merchant at Dawanau International Grain Market, Alhaji Uba Abdullahi Bello, revealed that massive exportation of agro-commodities to neighbouring countries due to the mad rush to earn forex and the massive demand by mega companies are the main reason behind the hike in food prices, especially in Kano State. “It will interest you to know that our commodities are now being heavily exported, either legally or illegally. Nigerian commodities are now a hot cake outside the country, and this is simply because our people are in a rush to earn forex that will culminate into a huge sum of naira when converted. “There is also the mad rush for raw materials by the processing companies. It is very clear that there is a serious competition between demand for consumption and raw materials by these mega companies. And this has resulted in the increase of commodity prices because there is a huge demand,” he said. Households in the state have expressed the fear of facing a serious food crisis as a result of the high cost of commodities. According to Malam Bashir Idris, a junior civil servant in the state government, a lot of food items are becoming unaffordable to many households. He explained that buying a measure (mudu) of either rice or beans is gradually going out of reach of the common man, adding that people can now only buy in cups. “In a situation where the minimum wage is N30,000 and a measure of rice is selling at N2,300, you can imagine how life would be. A measure of sugar is now selling at N4,000 while a measure of maize is N1, 200. You will shed tears if you see how our people are coping with this development. The truth is that Nigeria and Nigerians are facing a serious crisis and there is a need for government’s intervention,” he pleaded. Moreover, following the rise in the prices of locally milled rice and other agro-commodities in Kano State, Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA), which serves as an implementing partner in the Kano State Agropastoral Development Project (KSADP), funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Lives and Livelihood Funds (LLF) and the Government of Kano State, has embarked on activities that will ensure massive rice production along its value chain. Speaking with Daily Trust on Sunday, the deputy country director of the SAA, Dr Abdulhamid Gambo, said the association had been in Kano State for over 34 years supporting crop productivity enhancement, not only on rice but also on other crops. He explained that the trend in the hike of agro-commodity prices is connected to the trend on the global shock on the micro economic variables. According to him, the SAA has embarked on training and empowering farmers on the technologies needed for production to ensure better yield and increase in their income. He added that through that, increase in yield has been recorded. “We are currently promoting good agronomic practices through which we taught farmers how to utilise good varieties of seeds, modern farming techniques, among other things. We have recorded an increase in rice yield from 2 tonnes per hectare to about 5 tonnes. This is a good step forward in addressing the issue of rice production,” he said. Similarly, the project coordinator, KSADP Project in the office of the SAA, Mr Abdulrasheed Hamisu Kofarmata, said that under the project, farmers’ capacities have been built, as well as teaching them on the values of regenerative agricultural practices. He said the project didn’t only focus on production but also promoted locally milled rice by training and empowering over 2,500 women on rice per boiling using their group structures. “We have also established over 30 mini rice mill hubs across the 44 local government areas of the state to boost milling business, as well as to augment what we have been doing on rice production. By doing these we hope to contribute in bringing down the price of rice paddy, as well as locally milled rice in the state,” he revealed. As the Muslim fasting period is fast approaching, many residents have expressed concern at the rate at which the prices of agro-commodities is getting high every day. https://dailytrust.com/consumers-fear-further-crisis-as-prices-of-foodstuffs-continue-to-rise/

Praise GOD TheMiracleMag Daily Trust reports that the four remaining siblings of late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah have regained freedom from their abductors. The sisters were abducted alongside their father early January. Their abductors had given a deadline for the payment of ransom, and failure of the family to meet their demand led to the killing of Nabeeha. After killing the victim, the bandits raised the ransom from N60 million to N100 million, threatening to kill the remaining sisters. But as of the time of filing this report (12:30 am on Sunday), the girls had regained freedom and arrived their Abuja residence where they were abducted. Daily Trust reports that security operatives escorted them home, where they were received by family members. The four victims are Najeeba, a 500-level Quantity Surveying student, her younger sister Nadherah, 300-level Zoology student, both of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria and their twin sisters, Habeeba and Haneesa. The uncle to the girls, Sherifdeen, confirmed the development to our correspondent in a telephone chat Sunday morning. According to him, “The girls’ release was secured late Saturday,” he said. It was gathered that although the N100 million ransom placed on them had since been paid, the bandits held on to them for days putting the family in suspense until Saturday night. In a statement signed by Sherifdeen Al-Kadriyah, the family thanked the Nigerians for standing by them during the trying and traumatic period. “Words cannot express the immense gratitude and relief we feel at this moment. It is a true testament to the power of faith and the unwavering support and prayers from every one of you. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank Allah for His mercy and guidance throughout this difficult time. “However, amidst our celebration and gratitude, we must remember and pray for those who have lost their lives during this process. Their sacrifices must not go unnoticed, and their families must be in our prayers and thoughts. “May Allah grant them the highest ranks in Jannah, enveloping them with His mercy and forgiveness. May He bring comfort and peace to their grieving families, providing them with strength to endure their loss. “Our beloved daughters have shown remarkable strength and resilience, and we are overjoyed to have them back in our arms. Their bravery and courage during their time held captive will forever inspire us all. May Allah bless and protect every one of these incredible young women and grant them emotional healing and strength in the days to come”. https://dailytrust.com/breaking-nabeehas-sisters-regain-freedom/ Thank You Jesus

Praise GOD www.domimedia.org It's another beautiful Sunday morning and I'm contemplating thoughts and actions from the past week while being grateful to GOD for Blessings and opportunities. Then I remember Ade from last night; The pretty girl who recently moved into the next compound and paid for my items at the corner shop in Iju. Probably the hangover, or ptsd from previous dalliances with pretty girls, or maybe I was too engrossed in my discontent with Simmer's negotiation skills, all I know is I didn't give the situation as much attention as I ought to. I simply thanked her, waited for the calculation of all she paid for and thanked her again before leaving. Now I'm sitting at the gallery wing at Faith Tabernacle, for our special monthly anointing service and I'm beginning to realize countless ways I could have responded better to her generosity; possibly asked her phone contact. I'm sure of a Change of Story Answer from Above By the end of the Service The LORD GOD is my Shepherd. Join us this Sunday and Be Blessed in Jesus name

Praise GOD By GOD'S Grace, 21 days from now, what will happen to the turncoat celebs who have jumped on the Mohbad bandwagon. Just like Peter Obi and LP's popularity gingered netizens all through the 2023 elections saga, Naira Marley projected the 'infamy' side of online campaigns. Don't be surprised to see Iyabo Ojo casting Naira Marley in her next movie, or Tonto snugging up to him 21 says from now. My thoughts go out to a certain DJ and others who wanted to steal their minute of fame off the ordeal of someone you once considered 'helper'. The fact that this certain DJ manipulated his mom into the whole drama makes the betrayal worse. Would be want to associate with himself after such an act

The LORD is our Shepherd |
Praise GOD The United States Deputy Treasury Secretary, Wally Adeyemo who visited Nigeria last week as part of U.S. efforts to strengthen economic ties between both countries and a day after President Bola Tinubu, at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) 2023, advised Nigerians abroad to return home, has warned its citizens to reconsider travelling to Nigeria due to increased risk of crime such as terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, and attack by armed gangs in the country. An updated travel advisory issued on September 20 by the U.S. Department of State included a flat “do not travel” warning for Borno, Yobe, Kogi, and Adamawa states due to terrorism and kidnapping; Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara states due to kidnapping. Similar travel advisory was also issued for Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Enugu, Imo, and Rivers states (with the exception of Port Harcourt) due to crime, kidnapping, and armed gangs. Recall that recent attacks in the southeast such as the brutal killing of Late Professor Dora Akunyili’s husband, Dr Chike Akunyuli on the streets of Anambra, kidnapping and beheading of Anambra lawmaker, Hon. Okechukwu Okoye, kidnapping and killing of aged parents of Imo journalist, Joshua Ayanbola and many more have kept people living in these areas on edge. Meanwhile, despite the best efforts of the police and other security agencies to identify the perpetrators of these dastardly acts, many of them have continued with their wicked enterprise defying police. Meanwhile, the United States Department of state while placing these states on Level 4 – the highest risk category, warned that the security situation in the states is fluid and unpredictable due to widespread terrorist activity, inter-communal violence, and kidnapping; and security operations to counter these threats may occur without warning. “Kidnappings for ransom occur frequently, often targeting dual national citizens who have returned to Nigeria for a visit, as well as U.S. citizens with perceived wealth. Kidnapping gangs have also stopped victims on interstate roads”, the advisory read. “Terrorists continue plotting and carrying out attacks in Nigeria. Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting shopping centres, malls, markets, hotels, places of worship, restaurants, bars, schools, government installations, transportation hubs, and other places where crowds gather. Terrorists are known to work with local gangs to expand their reach. “There is civil unrest and armed gangs in parts of Southern Nigeria, especially in the Niger Delta and Southeast regions; and armed criminality and gangs, including kidnapping and assaults on Nigerian security services is also pervasive in this region.” It added. This advisory further takes Nigeria few years backwards despite the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to build investors confidence and get more investment into the country. President Tinubu during his speech at UNGA 2023 said the world would ignore Nigeria at its own peril, underscored the need for the global body to work with Africa to address the challenges of poverty and terrorism. He pledged not to rest until people had arisen out of poverty even if it required decisions at home that made him “temporarily unpopular.” It is however not surprising that despite the assurances of mutual respect and possible collaboration from the United Nations General Assembly President, Dennis Francis, countries like the United States of America have and will continue to issue out warning to their citizens about Nigeria and other countries, seemingly not in a bid to discredit the country but to ensure her citizens make informed decisions and stay safe.

Praise GOD • as NAOSNP organises Security Conference, Awards in Lagos Proliferation of lethal weapons has been a source of worry to many Nigerians especially as it poses threat to the peace and tranquility of the country. The question begging for an answer is how lethal weapons crept into the nation, when and who are the brains behind this unfortunately, the question remains unanswered as lethal weapons seem to be freely used by the young, old and underaged people without recourse to the rule of law across the country. In most cases, the envisaged peace that many Nigerians are craving for, has suddenly become an expensive commodity in many quarters as law enforcement agencies in the country can no longer guarantee peace. Lethal weapons are now freely used by armed robbers, kidnappers, vandals, land grabbers, cultists and other criminal elements in the country. Unlike in the olden days when people with criminal intentions usually took to their heels on sighting men in uniform, findings have revealed that such now prefer to either challenge or attack the uniform men and choose ways of escape as the last option. Last week, a good number of people were murdered in broad daylight in Sagamu, Ogun State when factions of suspected cultists held the ancient town hostage. During the clash, a man in his 60s was said to have met his untimely death when he ran into the suspected cultists on his way from the farm. Few days ago, a team of security operatives made up of soldiers, policemen, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were burnt alive by some gunmen in the Eastern part of the country.
