The Kabiyesi recalled the year 2017 when the Julius Omoyeni Foundation for Educational Development was inaugurated, incidentally, he was there to perform the inauguration and has watched the foundation year in year out maintain the quality of its operation by sustaining the scholarship he has been giving to students from Oka land. Annually over 30 students enjoy that scholarship for the 7th year running. This is considered a feat that needs to be recognized given the impact of that on the socio-economic development of the land. Educate a person you have empowered a society. GOD save us from all unfriendly friends |
GOD Save Us An intensely sorrowful account emerges, chronicling the journey of an exceptionally clever and aspiring young lady, whose radiant dreams of studying in the United Kingdom are abruptly shattered by an alleged calamity enacted by a member of her own family. A seismic blow struck as a 15-year-old girl, Promise Ibeh, was reportedly killed mere moments after her academic brilliance stood on the brink of reshaping not only her life but also the trajectory of her family. After successfully participating in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and achieving a remarkable feat of securing 9As, the young girl earned a scholarship to pursue studies in software engineering in the United Kingdom. However, fate had different intentions, and her life was tragically cut short. Chinecherem Promise Ibeh, a bright girl hailing from Umunneochi local government area in Abia state, who attained an impressive score of 9As in her West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), has reportedly passed away. A viral funeral announcement for Chinecherem, went viral and ignited a firestorm of heartache and intense feelings on social media platforms. Ofoke Bright Ikenna, one of the individuals who shared the story, boldly asserted that the sinister hand behind Chinecherem’s premature end was none other than her stepmother, consumed by a venomous blend of jealousy and envy. According to Ikenna, the root of this heinous act was Chinecherem’s triumph in securing a coveted scholarship to study in the UK, a success that seemingly stoked the stepmother’s resentment to fatal extremes. Shockingly, Ikenna alleged that the stepmother broke her silence, admitting to the chilling act of poisoning that snuffed out Chinecherem’s young life. Ikenna wrote; “An exceptionally brilliant girl child from Abia state has been k1LLed by her stepmother out of jealousy and envy. The stepmother has since confessed that she poisoned her to death. “Chinecherem got 9As in Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE) and subsequently won a scholarship to study Software Engineering at a UK university. May her soul rest in peace.” Others who shared the story, also echoed the grim narrative, weaving a web of suspicion around the notion that Chinecherem’s demise was no accident, but rather a meticulously orchestrated poisoning.

Symphonic West Africa, an independent music distribution and market company, has appointed Ife Ajagbe – a seasoned radio host and artists repertoire consultant its new head of operations to amplify artists voices worldwide. Before Nigerian music became popular globally, Ajagbe, had always been an advocate for Nigerian artists, coaching independent artists on best practices on what it takes to get their work prominently featured on relevant media platforms. “My job at Symphonic involves taking care of the interests of existing Symphonic clients and partners in the West African region while onboarding fresh musical talents,” Ajagbe said in a statement while commenting on her new role. “Symphonic is literally for everybody because the real aim is to make artists in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa feel cared for beyond just digital music distribution,” she said. “The organisation has been in business since 2006. So, this is a company that knows its onions when it comes to Digital music distribution, Sync Licensing, Rights Management, Funding and a host of other services.” According to her, the organisation sets itself apart in the areas of value and efficiency among the several digital music distribution services that serve the West African market. For instance, the platform is cognizant that many independent artists have a limited budget for the distribution and promotion of their music, she said, noting that for this reason, Symphonic helps artists distribute an unlimited number of songs to 200+ streaming sites at just $19.99 per year. She noted that it is considered great value, adding that the process of artists’ music going live in music stores takes less than 10 days, whereas other distribution platforms take three weeks to a full month to achieve this. “Afrobeats is the new crude oil, and it is important to nurture the sources of this promising product. As part of our commitment to artists’ development, Symphonic West Africa plans to hold regular training, master classes, and other avenues for artists to learn valuable skill sets in their journey through the music business,” Ajagbe states. https://businessday.ng/companies/article/symphonic-west-africa-appoints-ife-ajagbe-as-new-head-of-operations/

Praise GOD • Say Libya is an example of disastrous consequences of military action Concerned about what might be the consequences of the proposed military intervention in Niger Republic, the Reunion of Episcopal Conferences of West Africa (RECOWA) has urged the Authority of the ECOWAS Heads of State and Government to restrain from the use of force to restore the constitutional regime in the country, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report. RECOWA, comprising all Catholic Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops in West Africa, also urged the sub-regional leaders to learn from what happened in Libya in 2011, describing it as a tragic example of the disastrous consequences for people’s lives, dignity and future. They expressed their concerns in a two-page letter addressed to the President of ECOWAS, Heads of State of ECOWAS and the Transitional Authorities in Niger on August 7, calling for dialogue and reconciliation rather than belligerence and military response. The letter, signed by the President of RECOWA and Bishop of Agboville, Most Rev. Alexis Touabli Youlo, was sequel to the military coup that displaced the democratically elected government of President Mohammed Bazoum in Niger Republic and the resolve of the ECOWAS Authority to deploy all means necessary, even the use of force, to restore the constitutional regime in Niger. Despite a seven-day ultimatum issued to the military regime led by Gen. Abdourahmane Tchiani to restore Niger's constitutional government, all other diplomatic measures taken by the ECOWAS, African Union, European Union and the United Nations to resolve the Niger crisis have not brought about order and stability to the troubled country. In its two-page letter, therefore, RECOWA canvassed pacifism rather belligerence in the management of this crisis, inviting every actor within outside the sub-region to show restraint, discernment and responsibility. The letter read in part: "We, the Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops of the Reunion of Episcopal Conferences of West Africa, after consultations, are deeply concerned by the sub-regional tension linked to the political situation in Niger. Faced with the events currently unfolding in the sub-region, the lives of the people of West Africa are at stake. "Keeping as our central vision the integrity of the people and emphasising respect for human dignity and a high sense of accountability to mankind, history and God the Creator, we affirm that nothing can justify the creation or facilitation of an environment that is destructive to our people." The letter sternly observed that no individual, national, regional, geo-political or denominational interest or project should take precedence over the preservation of life, human dignity and the well being of the future generation in West Africa and beyond. On this ground, the letter further read: "We, your pastors, are convinced, and the history of people teaches us that violence does not solve any problem, not even the one that triggered it. We affirm that any military intervention in Niger at this time would contemplate the situation of the people of Niger and the sub-region more than it would provide solutions. "Terrorism already has a macabre toll of widows, orphans, displaced persons, the hungry, the maimed and so on. People are not expecting the regional, African and other institutions to add to this toll," the Catholic bishops of West Africa observed in its letter to the sub-regional leaders. In retrospect, the bishops cited the military intervention in Libya by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in 2011, describing the military intervention as a tragic example of the disastrous consequences for people’s lives, dignity and future. They, therefore, said: "We cannot remain silent in the face of such situations and must learn lessons to ensure that such events do not happen again, particularly with Niger as a potential epicentre of a similar crisis. As a Bishops' conference, our mission is intimately linked to the promotion of reconciliation and peace. "We firmly believe that every human being is called to live in peace and to be a peacemaker in accordance with the teachings of the Bible and those of the holy books of other religious confessions, which exhort us to work for reconciliation and brotherhood between all peoples. "Peace is a precious gift that we must cultivate and preserve together. It is like a common mat that we must weave together with each person contributing to his or her own thread," the bishops canvassed measures to deepen and promote peace within the sub-region. They also challenged on all men, women, and national, sub-regional and international organisations to play a positive role in easing tensions and promoting lasting peace, noting that the people of the region "love and accept each other and are constantly seeking to improve their coexistence. "This is a natural gift that we must support and encourage. Every actor and institution should contribute positively to this process by promoting dialogue and cooperation," the bishops further demanded. They called on the African Union and ECOWAS to show responsibility before history and to revisit their respective missions. At this critical and delicate time, according to them, it is essential that these organisations play an active role in the search for peaceful and lasting solutions, putting the interests of the people and respect for their dignity first. The bishops called on the sub-regional leaders to respond decisively to this call for restraint, discernment and responsibility, but work together to build a future of peace and prosperity for West Africa region and Africa as a whole.

In an interview on YouTube, the General Overseer of the Champions Royal Assembly, Prophet Joshua Iginla has shared his view on why Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church has remained a top Minister in the world. According to Prophet Iginla, Bishop Oyedepo has a giving heart. Hence, anyone with such a heart will always remain at the top. He disclosed this while commending Bishop David Oyedepo's generosity towards the family of Late Benson Idahosa. Prophet Joshua Iginla: "Loyalty is a powerful key in winning the battles of life. I watched Mama Idahosa share a testimony about the Bishop David Oyedepo. She said, since the death of her husband, Benson Idahosa, Bishop David Oyedepo took over the payment of the salary of the staff in their University. Even after the death of Benson Idahosa, Oyedepo has continued to remain loyal for 25 years. "Do you think such a man will not win battles and remain at the top? This is why Oyedepo has remained a top minister in the world. God doesn't bless people because it is artificial, he blesses people because they are original."
