POLICE INSURANCE SCHEME: IGP FLAGS-OFF DISTRIBUTION OF OVER 535 MILLION TO 68 NEXT OF KINS OF DECEASED OFFICERS

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has flagged off the distribution of cheques to cover Insurance benefits to next-of-kins of officers who paid the supreme price and those who have suffered permanent deformities in the course of discharging their lawful duties, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report. The total sum of cheques presented to Sixty-Eight (68) families of deceased officers and those injured or rendered disabled in the line of duty captured under the Group Life Assurance 2022/2023 Policy Year amounts to Five Hundred and Thirty-Five Million, Six Hundred and Eighteen Thousand, Seven Hundred and Eighty-Eight Naira Forty-Four Kobo (N535,618,788.44).

The IGP reiterated that the Nigeria Police Force under his watch firmly believes that human life is valuable, and prioritizes the well-being of officers and men of the Force. He stressed that his leadership will promptly fulfill the obligation of providing insurance and other benefits to all police personnel who have sacrificed immensely for our beloved country by providing comprehensive welfare support aimed at creating an environment where every officer feels valued, protected, and motivated to give their best in service to our nation.

Similarly, the IGP received the sum of Seventy Million Naira (N70,000,000.00) from Anchor Insurance Company Limited as a contribution for rebuilding the Kano State Command Headquarters, which suffered extensive damage due to a devastating fire incident on the 14th of January 2023. The IGP noted that the significant financial support will aid in restoring the command's infrastructure, bolstering its operational capabilities, and ensuring efficient and effective policing services to the residents of Kano State.

The Inspector-General of Police, while recognizing the incredible resilience and unwavering commitment of the men and women who have served, and those who continue to serve on the front lines, extended his deepest gratitude to the gallant officers of the Nigeria Police Force for their commendable dedication, sacrifice, and unalloyed allegiance to upholding the values of justice and security. He reiterated that their loss and injuries leave a void that can never be filled, but their legacies will forever live on in the hearts of those they touched.

Today, the Department of State Services (DSS) dragged embattled Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele to court. This was revealed in a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the DSS PRO, Peter Afunanya.

The statement reads: 'Sequel to an Abuja High Court Order of today, 13th July, 2023, the Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele has been charged to court in compliance with the Order. The public may recall that the Service had, in 2022, applied for a Court Order to detain him in respect of a criminal investigation. Though he obtained a restraining order from an FCT High Court, the Service, however, arrested him in June, 2023, on the strength of suspected fresh criminal infractions/information, one of which forms the basis for his current prosecution.'

'The Service assures the public of professionalism, justice and fairness in handling this matter and indeed the discharge of its duties within the confines of the law', Afunanya concluded.

Nigerian fraudster, Jacob Olalekan Ponle, also known as Woodberry, has been handed eight-year and three-month jail sentence by a federal judge in the United States for orchestrating a multimillion-dollar fraud.
According to court palers, Woodberry was sentenced on July 11 by Judge Robert Gettleman of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago.

Gettleman said, “The defendant is hereby committed to the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons to be imprisoned for a total term of 100 months as to count.”

Gettleman gave Woodberry instructions to present himself to the U.S. Marshal Service for transfer to the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut, where he would be allowed visits from his family members and his American fiancée.

The judge also stated that the convict will be “surrendered to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody for deportation immediately following his incarceration”.

The court determined that the Nigerian-born fraudster had the financial ability to repay the full payment but waived all interest on the restitution value. He will now pay seven victims a total of nearly $8 million in restitution.

On June 29, American prosecutors requested that Woodberry get a 14-year prison term for the fraud he perpetrated between January and September of this year.

The prosecutors also asked the court for permission to sell the fraudster’s 152 bitcoins, but only after giving the public 30-day notice so that anyone with a claim might file one. However, when Woodberry was sentenced, it appeared that no one with a legitimate stake had come forward.

The prosecutors also suggested that Woodberry, who is well known for flaunting his lavish lifestyle on social media, forfeit properties held by the Dubai Police, such as a Rolls-Royce, a Lamborghini Urus, a Mercedes-Benz G-Class AMG G55, four Rolex watches, a Patek Philippe watch, and three Audemars Piguet watches.

In addition, he must surrender two bank cards, roughly $1,835 in Emirati dirhams, and around $15.45 in South African rands, along with five gold bracelets, two gold bracelet keys, six gold neck chains, one gold and diamond-studded necklace, and one small gold nugget.

Woodberry was taken into custody on June 10, 2020, along with Ramon “Hushpuppi” Abbas, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison for computer fraud in the US late last year.

CIS BALA DANGANA ASSUMES DUTY AS COMPTROLLER, IMMIGRATION LAGOS STATE COMMAND

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Lagos State Command today got a new Comptroller. He is CIS Bala Aliyu Dangana. Comptroller B.A Dangana is a highly distinguished Professional and career Officer, who strives to impact the society around him and leave an indelible mark in the sand of time.

In his inaugural speech delivered to the Command Management team and granted to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP, Comptroller BA Dangana noted: 'I feel greatly privileged to be entrusted with the complex and challenging responsibility of overseeing the affairs of the most strategic Immigration Command in the country.
Lagos State Command doubles as the birthplace of the Nigeria Immigration Service and coincidentally the Command with the highest number of transiting and resident Migrant population in the country. This is by virtue of the fact that Lagos is the commercial nerve center of the country and also the only state with international Ports of entry that can be accessed via the Land, Air, and Maritime domain.'

CIS BA Dangana who enlisted in Nigeria Immigration Service in January 1990 as Assistant Superintendent Cadet and was a member of the 27th Basic Course noted: 'With the support of the Command's Management team and all Officers and Men, I shall lead the charge with regard to implementing a strict adherence to the core mandate of the Service and the reform policies of the Ag CGI whose unquestionable resolve to reposition the NIS is already yielding positive results.'

'Under my watch, there will be strict adherence to the extant rule that has been clearly spelt out in all our operating laws and documents. Officers and Men of the Command are expected to carry out their respective duties with diligence, the Command will maintain zero tolerance for corruption and corrupt practices. Furthermore, the Ag. CGI directives on passport administration will be religiously implemented at our Passport Office at Alausa and the Front Desk Office at Alimosho.
Keying into the Ag CGI's resolve to limit the possibility of exploitation in the passport administration process.'

Dangana has a word for passport applicants. To his officers and men, Dangana charged: 'To my officers, roll up your sleeve there is much to be done. Key Performance Index (KPIs) shall be attached to the portfolios of all my Sectional, Unit Heads as well as my personal aids. Appointments shall be purely based on merits and visible antecedents among the rank and file. Indolence shall be duly punished as much as excellent performances will be rewarded.'

'Conclusively, I wish to extend my hands of fellowship to our critical stakeholders, I will maintain an open-door policy while carrying out the NIS core mandate dutifully and without compromise. The Command will collaborate with the sister security agencies and the Lagos State Government to ensure that Lagos is safe and investor friendly.'

Comptroller Bala Aliyu Dangana is from Bida Local Government Area of Niger State in the North-Central geopolitical Zone of Nigeria. He had his primary and Secondary school education in Niger and Kaduna State respectively.
He obtained Higher National Diploma in Agric Engineering from the prestigious Kaduna Polytechnic. In the quest to broaden his knowledge and horizon, he went ahead to obtain MSc, in International Relations and Diplomacy with Ph.D. in view. Currently, he also has in view a Law Degree from the National Open University of Nigeria.

He started his career in Kaduna State Command and served there in various capacities and at different times. While he progressed in the service, he was posted to Rivers State Command where he served as the officer in charge of Investigation and Compliance. He served as Public Relations Officer Zonal Headquarters, Zone E Owerri.

He also served in Imo State Command
Officer-in-charge of Surveillance at Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State Command. He served again in Rivers State Command as the Passport Control Officer.

Upon his elevation to the rank of Comptroller he was transferred to the SHQ as Comptroller PRS Directorate. He also served as the Comptroller of ICT at SHQ

BA Dangana is a lover of sports, he played Table Tennis Professionally and even represented Nigeria in the Bournvita Games in China in the year 1983. Also, during his youthful days, he played Football for a local club in the 80’s.

IGP INTEGRATES SMART POLICING, DIRECTS OFFICERS TO KEY IN, ENCOURAGES NIGERIANS TO EMBRACE "NPF RESCUE ME APP", OTHER INNOVATIONS

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, recently concluded a comprehensive tour of the state-of-the-art National Command and Control Centre (C4i) facility and the Nigeria Police Crime and Incidence Database Centre (NPCIDC) at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report.

The purpose of the tour was to emphasize the IGP's commitment to integrating smart policing strategies into the Nigerian Police Force. During the tour, the IGP reiterated the efforts of the Police Force in adopting cutting-edge technologies and urged officers to fully leverage these tools to enhance their operations and improve service delivery to the citizens.

In line with the vision of the Nigeria Police Force to foster stronger community engagement, the IGP also took the opportunity to encourage all Nigerians to embrace, download, and use the "NPF Rescue Me App." This innovative mobile application provides a platform for citizens to quickly alert the Police Force in emergency situations, thereby facilitating prompt response and assistance. The “NPF Rescue Me App” is available on both the ‘android’ and ‘ios’ application stores for free downloads and usage.

In the same vein, the IGP directed all investigation units and police formations to instantly reactivate the use of the applications installed at the NPCIDC, where the biometrics and other relevant data/information of every suspect will be updated and kept for improved investigations and record keeping which will be readily available to police operatives to ensure a credible electronic criminal database to support investigations.

Similarly, in addition to the Digitalized Central Motor Registry which is already operational, the NPF is working on innovating other areas paramount to security. Some of these which would be unveiled within the year include the Police Mobile Security Surveillance which will amongst other things capture all motor parks, commercial drivers operating daily in Nigeria, and passengers plying various routes, including hotel lodging data; and the Domestic Help Registration to create and manage a centrally accessible data of all domestic helps with verifiable previous employment data.

The Inspector-General of Police expressed his continuous commitment to modernizing the Nigerian Police Force through the integration of smart policing strategies. The adoption of advanced technologies, such as the C4i facility, the "NPF Rescue Me App," and the NPCIDC will revolutionize law enforcement operations and strengthen the bond between the police and the citizens.

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have continued to give criminal elements sleepless night, as officers serving in Awkunanaw Division of the Command, today intercepted armed criminal elements, who were attempting to snatch an ENTRACO branded Sharon mini-van from its driver, along Agbani Road, Enugu.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command's spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe stated that, "In its avowed commitment to ruthlessly deal with unrepentant subversive criminal elements, who may want to enforce the prohibited illegal sit-at-home order in Enugu State, Police Operatives serving in Awkunanaw Division of the Command, in the morning hours of today, 07/07/2023, intercepted armed criminal elements, who were attempting to snatch an ENTRACO branded Sharon minivan from its driver, at One-Day, along Agbani Road, Enugu."

According to the statement, "The gallant and eagle-eyed Operatives engaged the miscreants in a gun duel, forcing them to abandon the vehicle and narrowly escaped with varying degrees of fatal gunshot wounds, due to the superior firepower of the Operatives. An intense manhunt for the hoodlums is ongoing."

"The vehicle, with copious blood stains on the seats and other items therein, was recovered, and after a thorough search conducted, the following exhibits were recovered: one (1) AK-47 rifle with a magazine loaded with nineteen (19) rounds of live 7.62 calibre of ammunition, two (2) bottles of petrol bomb, one (1) hammer, one (1) plyer and one (1) Jack-knife. Other items recovered include a pair of canvass with blood stains abandoned by one of the escaping miscreants, fetish objects, one (1) mobile phone, three (3) criminal hoods, one (1) hooded long sleeves, another without a hood and other incriminating exhibits."

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, fdc, while commending the gallant Operatives, has reaffirmed that the Police and other Security Forces shall remain focused, sustain the ongoing onslaught against the subversive criminals and ensure that the good people of the State continue to go about their lawful businesses without fear of any kind.

Accordingly, the Commissioner has called on citizens of the State, especially owners of medical facilities and those residing within the Awkunanaw, One-Day, Topland and Achara Layout axis of Enugu metropolis, to promptly report to the Police, anyone, dead or alive, sighted with gunshot wounds.

Supernatural Breakthrough Is My Heritage
-Mat. 5:14-16

What is the Spirit of the Lord saying for the month of July 2023.

Every revival season is characterized by spiritual labour- Hab. 2:3-9/ 2Chr. 15:3-12/15

According to scriptures, every child of GOD has a heritage of breakthrough on earth- Mat. 5:14-16/ Rev. 5:9-10

But all we need is to keep walking in the light of scriptures for this to become a reality in our lives- Deut. 28:1-13/ Isa. 60:1-22/ Eph. 5:8

Furthermore, we understand from scriptures that breakthrough is the identity of everyone that is truly in love with GOD, because true lovers of GOD are ordained pathfinders, pacesetters, and trailblazers- Rom. 8:28/ 1Cor. 2:9

When a believer is truly in love, he dwells in GOD and GOD is in him, which makes him a breakthrough personality on the earth- 1Jhn 4:16/ Rom. 8:31

In the same vein, all true and abiding lovers of GOD are sold-out servants of GOD, and they continue to command supernatural breakthrough all the way in their journey- Rom.8:37-39/ Act.14:11/ Act. 19:14-15

But here is another definition of love from Christ Himself.
■Do you love me? Then keep my commandments - Jhn 14:21/ 1Jhn 5:3
■ Do you really love me? Serve my interest on the earth, that is, have a genuine passion for souls? - Jhn 21:15-17/ Jhn 15:16

Supernatural breakthrough is not a myth, but simply a product of our proven love for GOD - 1Cor. 2:9

Unfortunately, all of us have this breakthrough heritage within us, but most of us do not know the worth of this treasure, just as Moses did not know the worth of the rod in his hand - Exo. 4:1-5/ 2 Tim. 1:6-7

But as many as genuinely commit to the required spiritual labour of Kingdom advancement endeavors during this second half of the midst of the year revival season shall step into new realm of supernatural breakthrough - Mal. 6:33/ Rom. 8:28/ 1Cor. 2:9

My prayer is that every engaging Winner shall experience next levels of breakthrough as a result of each one's quality investment of time, energy and resources in Kingdom advancement endeavours this month, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

FCT POLICE ARRESTS FOUR SUSPECTS FOR STABBING AND CAUSING GRIEVOUS HURT ON ONE LABARAN USMAN IN JABI AREA

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, have arrested four suspects in connection with the stabbing and causing grievous hurt on one Labaran Usman in the Jabi area of the FCT.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Command's Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh stated that, "Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, attached to the Utako Divisional Headquarters, have arrested four suspects in connection with the stabbing and causing grievous hurt on one Labaran Usman in the Jabi area of the FCT. The suspects, namely: Mubarak Ibrahim 'M,' 24yrs (2) Mohammed Adamu 'M,' 18yrs and (3) Aliyu Ibrahim 'M,' 19yrs, were arrested by the Police team while responding to a distress call that someone was stabbed by a group of young men suspected to be cult members around Jabi car park. Exhibits recovered from the suspects include two (2) daggers used in the perpetration of the dastardly act."

According to the statement, "The team while intensifying investigations on the earlier arrest, on the same date, arrested another member of the group, one Ibrahim Tsoho Musa 'M,' 48yrs old, from Jos North LGA, Plateau State. A search was conducted on his residence at Angwa Fulani Bwari, FCT, at 18:00hrs, where one locally fabricated rifle, loaded with six rounds of ammunition, one military camouflage trouser, and two dagger were recovered from him."

"Investigations by the Police team have revealed how the suspects perpetrated the crime and other nefarious activities they have committed within the FCT.
Meanwhile, effort is at top gear to unravel the source of the recovered firearm and also to clamp down on other members of the criminal syndicates still at large. The victim, Labaran Usman 'M,' 32yrs from Kaduna State, who was promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention is confirmed to be recuperating."

"The Commissioner of Police FCT Command, CP Haruna G Garba, while commending the men, tasked them to increase the tempo and aggressively flush out miscreants from the Territory. He also enjoined residents of the FCT to maintain vigilance and report suspicious activities to the police through the following emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883, while the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB) desk, which could be reached at 09022222352."

NPF SPORTS LEVY: PUBLICATION MISCHIEVOUS, CALCULATED ATTEMPT TO RUBBISH POLICE INTEGRITY, AGE-LONG TRADITION

Following the recent spread of disinformation with regards to the NPF sports levy deduction by some sections of the media, the Nigeria Police Force vehemently wishes to clarify that these claims are baseless and misleading, calculated to deceive the public and rubbish the integrity of the Force, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report. 

In as much as the Force does not intend to dignify the unprofessionalism and falsehood of the media outlets, it has however become rife to correct the baseless and misleading news publication aimed at maligning the person and integrity of the Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD., NPM, with regards to the Police Annual Sports Levy deduction. The Nigeria Police Force Sports is primarily funded by an annual deduction which has been in force from time immemorial; and it was consolidated in the year 2003, and reviewed by the management of the Force in the year 2012. More so, the deduction credited to the new Acting IGP was approved some months before his appointment.

Attempting to sensationalize this longstanding annual practice and personalizing it to the current Inspector General of Police is not only mischievous but a disservice to the above stated facts. It is evident that the purveyors of this disinformation are poised to mislead the public by distorting the truth and creating unnecessary mischief. The Force, therefore, strongly urges the public and media outlets to verify information and desist from spreading baseless claims calculated at tarnishing the image of the Nigeria Police Force while encouraging well-meaning Nigerians to discountenance the malicious publication.
