Meiji: Actually it's not clear "to the biggest critic" what the Lagos State government has done with the borrowed funds. Didn't the Lagos State government also benefit from high crude oil prices, like everyone else? Why has the Lagos Metroline not been completed (despite promises that it would be finished by June 2013)? Isn't that an example of failed promises?
It's only not clear to those who have chosen not to see. Go below and see some. It's currently being updated. https://www.nairaland.com/2322688/fashola-vs-akpabio-updated-projects U mentioned Metroline being not completed, than God u didnt say abandoned. At least u can see that work is ongoing. When u talk of failed promises, u must refer to the floating cities Jonah-daft promised us down here in ss and the fool didn't do. Not lagos.
You talk about "borrowing to pay salaries". What about Ogbeni Rauf and Rotimi Amaechi that haven't paid their workers? What do you have to say about that,
All governors are complaining of dwindling income even at that it's no excuse for not paying salaries. For Rauf, i condemn in totality and he has to pay up and he shouldn't borrow to pay salaries the way Jonah-daft is doing. but for Amaechi, how many months do u think he is owning? Don't be deceived by fools on this forum. He is owning just one month for all and 2 months for some and 3 months for few. He has promised to pay up before he goes. Above all this thread is about Jonah-daft govt. Open another thread for states.
Demdem?
For where?
I'm not trying to defend this administration (it has had many failures). My point is that we need to stop this partisan agenda of painting Jonathan as the sole problem with Nigeria. APC state governments also bear a large part of the blame for the collective mess the country is in.
Jonah-daft may not be the sole problem but he is the core problem. More than half of our resources go to him so he should carry most of the blame also. Even before any of these states go borrow especially from outside, the fg headed by him needs to approve. U talk of apc states, are there not pdp states? Who is their leader? If u want to discuss states, open another thread but this is about the misgovernance perpetrated by this cursed govt headed by the drunkard. |

Meiji: What do you have to say about the debt of the Lagos State government? There is nothing wrong with debts perse especially if it's put in good use. It's quite evident even to the biggest critic what is being done in lagos even with the debt. Can we say the same about this cursed govt. Infact these fools even borrow money to pay salaries. Does lagos do that also? Please it's incomparable. |

mubarak001: You are very funny, did i fabricate those words he's now saying myself? Are they not his exact words? He's just trying to prep our minds in case he 4ked up. Bros, abeg try update ur sef with newspapers. Besides, is nt gud to envisage as stated by u "ur kind were not listening. U lot were busy looking for his certificate and praying for his death". I don't do such. I'm constructive in my criticism. In ur post, u said before elections the General made promises. Am interested in those promises u claimed u heard and had suddenly realised that he can't fulfil. On several occasions buhari stated that this government is a failure, what tips do u think he will be expecting from a failed govt. Those words are simply out of respect for the seat and not because he is really expecting anything reasonable from this govt. What useful tips can he get from a govt that has given us a legacy of obtaining loans to to pay salaries after years of surplus? A legacy of monumental domestic and foreign debt with very little to show for it. Dont be deceived. Far more better brains are with the General advising him on what to do than the assemblage of sycophants this govt has assembled. The General made promises and he will fulfill them. He has not for once stated that what he promised is no longer achievable. |
Politics › Re: Should President Elect Resign? by dekdek: 1:54pm On May 19, 2015 |
mubarak001: Hey Nlanders,
Before the election, we heard of promises from the opposition party telling us they would do these and do that, uhm! But right now, after winning the election, all we hear from them is that the out going president didn't give useful tips, we should not expect miracles, the country is indebted, that it might be difficult to fix somethings, and the excuses are endless.
If you asked me, I'll suggest he should just resign and hand over to his vice-elect before they start telling us it was our fault to have voted them in the first place.
or what do you guys think? U sound vague, as in very vague. Can u be much more specific about what the General promised and have suddenly reneged from? I put it to u that u dont have because when the General was taking time going about selling his dreams to Nigeria, ur kind were not listening. U lot were busy looking for his certificate and praying for his death. Again, be specific and we will start from there. |

philips70: Please, my friend Izonwei, you forgot to add Jonathan. they all failed Bayelsa state. In my assessment Akpabio is a demon in his type of politics but he has made a categorical statement to other governors in the Niger Delta. The problem most of these governors have is that apart from stealing they lack vision and the mental cum technical ability to transform a state but Akpabio scored very high in this regard. I do not really subscribe to the comparison of him and Fashola of LAGOS state. It's like apples and oranges to me. I would rather Akpabio is put on scale with his contemporaries in the Niger Delta. Actually, this has been dissected before on this forum and we have realized that even among his contemporaries here in ND, he remains a fraud. Here are two of the critical threads. Amaechi / Akpabio.https://www.nairaland.com/1444292/amaechis-hospitals-vs-akpabios-hospitalshttps://www.nairaland.com/1442142/amaechis-schools-vs-akpabios-schools |

Akwa Ibom N260 billion, Rivers N230 billion, Delta State N209 billion, Bayelsa N173 billion, Lagos N168 billion, Kano N140 billion, Katsina N103 billion, Oyo N100 billion, Kaduna N 97 billion Borno N94 billion. Like i said earlier, there is a huge difference. This also confirms it. |

CSTR2: You people are really funny. Akwaibom's major source of revenue is from federal allocations. Rivers akwaibom and lagos are the three biggest reciepients of federal allocations with akwaibom looking the most promising. So there is nothing special about akwaibom's revenues. Lagos on the other hand not only recieves one of the biggest federal revenues, but generates huge IGR while piling up humongous debts even with increasing under-development. So your fashola is the scam of the highest order. Actually u got it wrong completely from the onset. What responsibility does Akpabio has in Akwa ibom that fashola doesn't have more than double of such? Do u care to consider the population each one of them needs to cater for in these states. By the time u consider the income coming into the hands of Akpabio with additional 13% derivation plus NDDC plus oil companies intervention especially MPNU, seriously there shouldn't be any poverty on that land but instead of Akpabio to be focused he is busy wasting funds on celebrities buying them cars and flashy stuffs. By the way, there is a huge difference in revenue from fg for both states. |

I'll also hold off on Fashola for 1 hour and let others insert whatever I left out as completed projects in Akwa Ibom just to be fair.. Akpabio is a fraud. The people have been severally robbed. When one compares akpabios so called achievement to the monthly allocation this fool receives, one will realise that this criminal deserves nothing but to be stoned to death. |

Eruditor: The problem is not even about leaving a debt. It is about how you left the debt. Some states like Rivers and Lagos incurred huge loans to build infrastructures and service old ones. The state government set a plan in motion to be offsetting these loans. In Rivers for example, I heard Ameachi say something to the effect of having to pay off 10B one month after having received only 12B from the federal government. What helped him to pay off salaries for that month is the IGR of 8B.
Please bear in mind that the FG up to that point used to offer Rivers state 20.25B a month. And GEJ slashed it to 12B to spite Amaechi. Now think of a situation where it is not even GEJs spitefulness at work but the paucity of the funds sef. In addition..... Here are the words of amaechi as regards loans secured by the state.......
“We are enduring the pain because we are paying our loans. Maybe he is lucky because we have paid out a lot of our loans if not all
These goons have deliberately ignored this part of the post. |
