The Nigerian woman behaved in a way she would not have done at Manchester Airport or any European airport. Why should an airport worker in Kenya care about you calling Nigeria's Finance Minister ![]() And why would you throw something unmentionable at a person doing their job, however angry you are. That's just horrid. No wonder most of the world dislike Nigerians. Loud, uncouth, and unjustifiably arrogant. Yet, when these Nigerians are in Europe, and have to deal with whites, you see them keeping their mouths shut and shaking like a lily. |

So, he is supporting white South Africans whose progenitors killed and maimed tens of thousands of black Africans and seized their lands which white South Africans still occupy or use for Agriculture till date. The recently passed law that will cause so-called 'confiscation' of land from white people is just a basic law on compulsory acquisition on public interest grounds. The law is even less stringent than the various state laws on compulsory acquisition in Nigeria. The UK, US, and virtually all countries in the world has similar laws. To think that some black people (including commenters above who are happy that Trump is withdrawing money from South Africa) can't see Trump's white supremacist agenda is baffling. Anyway, South Africa can do without that money. |
N868 million? The man must have made some enemies in and around his office who went after him. Some Acountant Generals, Auditor Generals, Attorney Generals etc stole billions and got away with. |
EmperorCaesar:Nasty, and insensitive comment. The post was not about her looks, yet that was all you focused on. In any case, she is beautiful, and I doubt she needs your affirmation. Well done young lady. |
Excellent. |
Nigeria is almost ungovernable. |
In the past few years, I have increasingly become disconnected with any justification for wearing a suit and tying a rope around my neck, all in the name of looking professional. Our weather is hot, yet in business circles, dressing in a form introduced by colonialist represents our ideal of professionalism. Wearing a suit in Europe makes sense, but it doesn't in Nigeria. Unfortunately, there's no getting around this in my profession. Why can't someone working in a bank, government office, or any private business have the option of wearing a nice Adire, Ankara, Guinea etc to work Monday to Friday? |
Anyone realised that none of the Governors have fortrightly said the proposed Arbitration panels are illegal. You know why? The State Attorney Generals will have advised the Governors to be cautious. As there is nothing in the Constitution that prevents people voluntarily submitting themselves to a non-State dispute resolution mechanism. In law, it is called Alternative Dispute Resolution. It is even encouraged. Afterall from time immemorial family heads, Village heads, Pastors, Imams have sat on and resolved disputes brought voluntarily to them by people. Any sitting where 2 or more people are hearing and mediating a dispute is a panel, whether the panel is made up of village, family or religious leaders. If the Muslims go to court, they'll win, provided they don't use the words 'Sharia Court'. The Governors must know they have no legal legs to stand on, but they are compelled to issue wishy washy warnings because most SW people oppose anything Sharia, and that includes many moderate Muslims. Under the Nigerian constitution, a Sharia Arbitration panel can be set up anywhere in the country. Ok, many Christians don't like the word Sharia. Ok then. What if they call it Muslim Arbitration Panel? Is there anything in the Nigerian Constitution that says that's illegal. As a Christian, I don't see much problem here if they restrict their activities to adherents of Islam whovoluntarily submit to their mediation/arbitration strictly on issues of marriage and inheritance as provided in the Constitution. |
Lovenorth:The President is not of the same political class as Mr Jonathan. |
'North will show Tinubu pepper in 2027' in the mud. Even OpenAI said Tinubu is a master strategist. |
'Northern gang-up against Tinubu' in the mud. If you're a Northern APC Governor, your approach to 2027 can't be 'vote for me, but don't vote for Tinubu'. PDP Governors who did that against Mr Jonathan in 2015 were 'mistakenly' swept out out office by voters and replaced by APC Governors. Today, after 10 years out of power, most PDP politicians regret their actions, cause now, money done finish. My PDP politician neighbour has been telling me, they'll win this election, next election, the one after. After each election, PDP still loses, and then he complains bitterly that APC rigged ![]() Also APC politicians know that if PDP ever wins the Presidency, PDP will not leave Aso Rock for at least 20 years. Afterall, PDP were the master riggers, and manipulators. So no APC politician can take the risk of letting in PDP. Come 2027, Nothern APC politicians, even those who don't like the President, will prioritise their personal interest over any Northern desire to vote out Mr Tinubu. |
Fantastic. |
I agree with @mrvitalis. That rail line will be a drain on Nigeria for decades to come. It will.never be profitable. The economy of Niger Republic is too small to justify a $2 billion rail line. |
'Sane climes' that some worship. |
These connections are vital for cross border trade. |
Mr Trump will find it difficult to convince a UK court that the newspaper damaged his reputation with their front page headline. What reputation? the court might ask. |
helinues:It is not easy to win a defamation case in the UK, and Mr Trump will have to be present in the UK court as a witness in his own case. And I believe the newspaper probably has enough material to support their headline. A UK court may well rule that a man is INDEED A VILLAGE IDIOT if he wants to forcefully take a foreign territory (Greenland) and another country's infrastructure (Panama Canal), grab, seize and detain illegal migrants including little babies and their mothers from inside Churches, Schools etc Is such a character a Saint or a Village idiot? Easy answer for most sensible people. |
That European fintech company where some of the money was sent to will now think twice about doing business with Nigerians. Nigerians damaging the reputation of this country and ruining foreign business opportunities for legitimate Nigerians. The moment you mention you are based in Nigeria, some businesses abroad don't want to engage with you under any circumstance. Very embarrassing. |
Punch has completely lost the plot. |
Over 90% of the people who trade forex lose almost all their money eventually. The movements of prices are determined by algorithms and externalities that you as an individual trader sitting in front of a laptop in Africa has no chance of beating. So, even if you win sometimes, you'll end up losing most times. Same applies to the scam that is cryptocurrency. You win today and feel like a king, but bigger losses are waiting for you down the line. You might as we just play nairabet or whatever you guys call it. The odds of winning are more or less the same whether it's forex, or nairabet. Nairabet might even be better. |
Nnamdipapa:My own tribalism ![]() You saw tribalism in anything I wrote up there, or in anything I have written in all my time on Nairaland? You come across as a truth-twisting fella who defaults to false 'whataboutism" when you are caught out. |
A Receiver appointed under a special legal power to handle the affairs of a bankrupt company in extreme financial distress allegedly conspired and stole from the company he was brought in to save. Unbelievable. Only in Nigeria. It is like a specialist Consultnt brought in to save a dying patient allegedly conspiring with nurses to stick a knife through the heart of the patient. |
People are entitled to form alliances. Their only chance is to have the majority of Middle beltans on their side. As things stand today, that is unlikely. I also believe most people in the South will not vote a Northerner come 2027. Unlike 2023, Mr Tinubu will win all states in the SW by a wide majority. Whatever it takes. Same with Edo, Rivers, Cross rivers, and potentially Delta. He will also get tangible votes in at least 3 or more South East states. Presidential election will come before Governorship in 2027. This is a strong plus for the President. No Southern Governor going for 2nd term will put his re-election at risk and stand in the way of Mr Tinubu in favour of a Northern Presidential candidate in 2027. Do that and forget your re-election. That's the reality. |
And there is no big, fat 'NIGERIA HOUSE' sign on the facade. What a missed opportunity to project power (even if it is African level), and presence in such a prominent location. Very amateurish. |
Tax, Tax, Tax. Do people think Nigeria/Lagos exist in a silo all by itself and not in a world of global competition. If Nigeria / Lagos imposes needless Tax, and Ghana, a competitor in the Detty December market doesn't and Ghana becomes significantly cheaper, do you think many travellers will not head to Accra instead of Lagos ![]() And what if 2 or 3 of the Caribbean countries start their own Detty December, and dilute what is currently a majorly Lagos affair. There is nothing in the Lagos version of Detty December that can't be replicated to a large extent in Ghana, Ivory Coast, the Caribbean etc My advice to Nigeria/Lagos, DO NOT IMPOSE A DETTY DECEMBER TAX. |
I can't wait for her to lead her country and for Nigeria to deal with the skint, poor, debt-ridden, globally insignificant, irrelevant UK. The UK is no longer in the economic position to do Jack to Nigeria. The UK is tottering on the verge of bankruptcy and may soon need IMF intervention, Its best days are behind it. Nigeria on the other hand is a rising star, with plentiful natural resources, a huge market. Nigeria should lock the UK out of this market if Ms Badenoch ever becomes their prime minister. They don't even produce anything anyway. The UK needs Nigeria more than Nigeria needs it. We will know who will be begging who if Ms Badenoch ever becomes their Prime Minister. |

The 2 men sitting on the floor still had their caps intact on their heads, and their attires appear quite clean. They appear completely unruffled. May be they were they not part of those bombed. |
