Spaxon:What has dt got to do with the topic? Well, the height of stupidity is when a person thinks taking a selfie with galaxy tab is the peak of success in life. |
Jollyjoy:It's nt all abt beauty bt beauty is one of the factors considered. It's just an observation and I shared it with y'all, don't castigate me. |
Jollyjoy:Beauty is a criterion. |

I checked her pic and I wz like, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. She is nt the girl I used to know during the miss nairaland contest. No more sexy eye, she is getting a bit chubby, her physique is now appalling. What's wrong? Shout out to miss nairaland though. Still on point as ever. |

There was a thread where fashanu confessed dat he bribed his brother in order for him nt to publicise his(brother) gay status. On that same thread sm1 commented and said, how cn sm1 choose to be what will endager his own life and dat of his family, thereby buttressing the fact the gays are born nt made. Now, m asking can a person choose to be homosexual? Cn u choose to be a lesbian? Cn u even learn the act if u were nt born with it? These are pertinent question that i asked myself and i fink it should call for a debate. Why will sm1 want to be a gay/lesbian? What are the factors that propels a person into indulging in such illicit act? It's either u support the notion or u oppose it. Mk sure u buttress ur points with concrete facts. Over to u, romancelanders. |

I'm becoming too much of an introvert and i dn't like it. I wanna be free from the shackles of introvertedness. Smbody help! |
Hi guys. |
The corporate world is increasingly sieving out every form of ethical informality. Listed below are my top six suggestions for the “DO NOT SAY” list. Using these comments in business (and life) can diminish your stature in the eyes of others, minimize what you are saying, or tarnish your professional image: ØCan I ask a question? You don’t have to ask permission; just ask the question. ØI’m sorry to bother you. Why are you a bother? You can say, “Excuse me. Do you have a moment?” ØI was hoping that you could spare a few moments. Same as above. Simply say, “Excuse me. Do you have a moment?” Ø·Thank you for listening to me. At the end of a presentation, you should say, “Thank you.” This lets the audience know that the presentation is over. You don’t have to thank people for listening to you. Aren’t your comments and opinions worthwhile? ØI will be honest with you. Aren’t you always honest? You don’t need to use this phrase. I was just wondering if perhaps. This phrase is a passive way of asking a question or backing into a statement. You can eliminate “I was just wondering if perhaps” and simply ask a question or make a statement. Instead of “I was just wondering if perhaps there will be enough computers for the project?” you can say, “Will there be enough computers for the project?” Source: http://muyiwaafolabi.com/blog/Frankly-Speaking-With-Muyiwa-Afolabi/6-PHRASES-YOU-SHOULD-NEVER-USE-AT-THE-OFFICE.php |
Pls if u don't have anything sensible to contribute, pls, desist from this thread. Lalasticlala, move the thread to the top level. |
Step for once out of illusion, delusion and wishful thinking. Step into a reality right now as I ask this question and I want you to answer this question truthfully and sincerely. You need not give an immediate answer if you know you do not know, don't just answer or be slushy and unrealistic with your answer. The purpose of the question is not to tease you or excite you but to make you think seriously. And I want you to think about it seriously. This is my question. If someone pays 100 million naira into your account today. What will be the first thing you would do, the second thing you would do and the third thing you would do? In my seminars, I ask my audience this question in purpose research and planning workshops and the most frequent responses are: at number one, I'd resign from paid employment, number 2, I'd invest it, number 3; I'll start a business. Then I smile; the responses I expected exactly. Then I begin to ask further questions relating to these responses. And eventually it becomes obvious, many say they would resign from their employments not because they'll now have the opportunity to use their time for something they really want to do, but because they want to escape from paid employment. The response of resigning is most of the time informed by the desire to escape the stress and pressure tied to their jobs. Many who also say they would invest, only say so to sound financially responsible and disciplined. When asked what they would invest in, many would pause, start to think then say shares and real estate. When I ask further questions about the stock market and the real estate industry, they have no detailed information about these areas. They just know people say they invest in stocks and shares and they also just say the same. Many have no clue how it works or how to invest or profit from the investments. For those who also say they'll start their businesses, I ask questions about how they would do it? Their area of interest, the product or service they want to offer, their target market, their customer profile, their business plans, their business strategy, corporate culture, their sales strategy, route to market agenda, differentiation, positioning, branding and value chain process management. They just stare at me, having no clue what I'm talking about, in fact they do not even have a business name yet, much less company registration. They are obviously not ready. You see, many of us wish for a life we are not ready for, we long for a lifestyle we are not prepared for and desire a change we cannot handle yet. Many of us spend hours in prayers and hard work seeking for a life improvement and transformation that we only desire but don't deserve. What it takes to handle what we're asking for, we do not have. Its basic human instinct to desire wealth and riches. We crave and pray for financial and material surplus. There are some kind of blessings however, if experienced now, will destroy you completely because you can't handle it. You're not ready or prepared for it, it will consequently ruin you. Many of us do want a good, rich and successful life, but we do not prepare for it. We are not doing anything to prove we are ready for a great life. A great life isn't something that just happens to you, you build a great life. A great life starts from within you. It's the glory you carry and the greatness you grow on your inside that attracts the glory and the greatness in the world into your life. Whatever you desire in this life, you create the possibility first in your own life, you create the place and space for it, then it will naturally gravitate towards you. You must work on yourself and make yourself ready for a blessing or a break through before it will ever show up in your life. People tend to think hard work is being busy running here and there dissipating energy for hours; the real hard work is internal reformation, recreation and transformation – changing who you are is the real hard work. When you improve your quality of being, life rewards you with better quality living. It's not by sweating or perspiring, that's why people in offices earn better than those in the factory. Life does not reward energy as much as it rewards good thinking. Praying and confession and hard work will not deliver your dreams if your mentality can not handle the dreams. Your life experiences transformation as you renew your mind to understand what is really good, what is really acceptable and what is really perfect according to your maker's plan for your life. Going back to the question of being handed a 100 million naira and your immediate reaction, contrary to what respondents say about starting a business or investing it, what many people actually do based on our research is this; 1.They immediately want friends, family, relatives and everyone to know things have changed. They want their kith and kin to know their condition has improved financially, so they shop for new and expensive clothes first, then they buy new and expensive cars, change the school of their children, maybe move to better neighbourhoods, they plan overseas vacation trips, then they buy a parcel of land and begin to build their house to escape the oppression of their so called greedy landlord. 2.They next thing they do is recall a particular experience or item they wanted desperately when they didn't have so much money and had probably brought them shame, scorn or reproach, they go for it and indulge or purchase it, basically to address the psychological pain and discomfort. They, in their minds, address or respond to their critics and the embarrassment of lack. But let's snap out of it, I'm not very sure there's anyone you know today who would dash out 100 million so let's get real. The essence of this message today is to question your readiness for the great change you're praying for. Do you really want the great change or you're just deceiving yourself? What are you doing right now in readiness and anticipation of the change? When suddenly the opportunity you've been waiting for shows up, are you prepared to take it wholly, fully and completely without failing? Where precisely and in detail are you willing to invest your money if suddenly good money comes your way? What do you know about the business of your dream? What's the pricing strategy like and how do you intend to achieve customer conversion from strong existing competitors? Do you have answers? How hard are you working on your mind set and mentality to access your dream life and experience? You cannot access what your mind cannot see, you cannot explore what you cannot access, you cannot explore what you don't understand and you cannot profit from what you cannot comprehend. Lack is not the same as poverty, in fact lack is the consequence of poverty, poverty is not scarcity of money and resources; poverty is lack of access to money and other important resources. People are not poor because they lack, people lack because they're poor and people are poor because they don't know how to access wealth. Poverty is a knowledge problem. Poverty is simply not knowing how to become rich, which leads to lack - empty pockets and empty bank accounts, therefore poverty is not a problem of deprivation or insufficient money and resources to go round, it is an ignorance problem. You can't be poor in your pocket if you're not poor in your knowledge of wealth creation, and if by accident money comes into your pocket and you're still poor in your thinking, you'll soon become poor again in your pocket. Dear friend, stop this lies in your life, you know you're not ready for great riches and prosperity, you're not prepared for it, you're not ready for the blessings you're praying for, you're not even sure how you'll react to sudden wealth, and I know God will not put on you more than what you can bare. Stop asking for what can destroy you, prepare for it first. Work hard on you mentality and knowledge first and the maturity to handle the blessing, and consequently with ease, your great wealth will locate you. |
Lalasticlala, other mods are maltreating me, save me from them. |
Because you're afraid of a repeated painful experience. You gave your all in a friendship or relationship, suddenly the person walked away without any meaningful reason. Now you've concluded everybody is selfish, mean and insensitive. Based on the pain of this failed relationship, you many never truly enjoy the pleasure of a great relationship because you're afraid of another painful experience of this new person walking away too. You were so sure he or she was the one, you decided to get married, you were so in love hence you gave it your all, suddenly the marriage became a night mare with all kinds of abusive experiences – physical, emotional, verbal and psychological abuse. Betrayal, infidelity, lies and deprivation characterised this marriage. At last the marriage failed woefully. Base on this pain, you've resolved never to try again and you warn everyone in love that love is wicked and marriage is a trap. The pain attached to your failed marriage has taken control of you and you're thinking hence, you can't see anything good in marriage or wouldn't even dare to try again. Dear friend, emotional pain is an outcome of interpretation and judgement. The way you see a matter determines how painful it would be for you. This simply means you are actually responsible for your emotional pains. You're fired from your job, you're yet to recover from the pain in six months. Meanwhile someone else resigned willingly from that same company, why? He's tired and wants something different. Reality is both of you left the company, the circumstance may differ though, but the reality is the same. The way you interpret your exit will determine if it'll be that painful or not. You are heartbroken about a lover who refused to marry you. In your judgement that person is the best thing to ever happen to you; hmmn, in your mind, dear friend, it's a lie! It's all in your imagination and interpretation. Many people thought so too about their lovers before marriage and today they're divorced. Emotional pain is a product of imagination, judgement and interpretation. Dear friend, do you really know how powerful you are? Do you know how creative, resourceful, ingenious and innovative you are? You can become anything you desire and succeed at anything you dream of once you can see the pain of failure as just what it is, a temporary emotional state. Failure is powerless against your dreams and ambition until you let it stop you. The pain of failure is nothing but the meaning you give to that failure. I have failed several times in time past, many people hurt, disappoint and still betray me even today. But I will never let the way they treat me get in the way of my dreams and ambition. My goal is more powerful than their treatment. In the game of football, hard tackle is the price a very good player and goal scorer must live with. People and life would tackle you hard and rough if you want to score your great goals in life. Hard tackle pain is part of playing an excellent game. It's only a bad footballer that would refrain from scoring goals because of a rough tackle. A great scorer only need to master self-protection from hard tackles not stop scoring goals. Even when you suffer injuries, you don't give up your career, you recover and go back to the field of play. No pain, no gain. Dear friend, go for your goals. Don't let the pains from your past stop your goals. You can do it, you're designed to achieve it, that's why the rough tackles are common and frequent. Ignore the pain, don't be scared by the tackles, score your goals, the fact you haven't scored so far doesn't mean you won't score eventually, take your chance; Win your gold. Please enjoy your day source: http://muyiwaafolabi.com/blog/Frankly-Speaking-With-Muyiwa-Afolabi/TODAY-ON-FRANKLY-SPEAKING-PAINS-OF-THE-PAST1079.php |
The unique and exciting thing about life is its dynamism. Life is not consistent in the way it unfolds. You can hardly predict precisely what the next hour holds. No matter how well informed you are and how experienced you are, you cannot brag or be certain about the outcome of anything in this life. Life is not pure science. One plus one is not always two. What someone attempted to do that worked out pretty well for him can thoroughly embarrass and frustrate another person should he attempt the same feat. Times and seasons change, people do change, trends do change and ways to great results are not cast in stone. Yes, we have and believe in certain life principles that most of the time if appropriately applied would yield the expected result. But it's also a matter of hope not certainty. To live life is to be actively involved in envisioning, planning and activating a success agenda for yourself. If you don't take charge of your life; coordinate your daily activities and try to do valuable and rewarding things in line with your success agenda, life would naturally punish you. People who do not get actively involved in planning and working out their lives for rewarding and happy outcomes consequently suffer so much. They pay the price with poverty, lack, rejection, disrespect, loneliness and frustration. If you do not envision, plan and actively direct your life towards success, be sure it'll naturally gravitate towards failure. No one succeeds by accident. Success is an action word. It is what you do and eventually become. It doesn't just happen on you, you activate success through your daily life endeavours. However, many of us, knowing this, have as a matter of fact, for many years made plans and strategized to ensure we have and enjoy successful outcomes in life, but incidentally, it may not have turned out as perfectly as we envisioned. Many worked very hard at school, sacrificed time, sleep and comfort just to ensure they create a successful future. Sadly, their positive expectations eluded them. Truth is, many times it's due to no fault of theirs. The nature of life; the way life goes, its non-predictability and inconsistency can really make nonsense of every good plan, strategy, hard work and dream. Our inability to correctly predict tomorrow leaves us with the option of guesses and speculations as to what may or could happen. Based on these speculations, we then make choices and calculations. Sometimes, if we're lucky, things would pan out as predicted, if we are unfortunate however, things may just not work out as plan and we'll be required to start all over. The natural feeling that follows failure and disappointment is pain. Emotional and psychological pain. Failure is painful, when you invest so much in the pursuit of a goal and ambition and it totally collapses on you, you are pained. The number one inhibition, limitation and interference to an aggressive pursuit of a big dream is not the fear of failure, it's the emotional pain that comes with failing. If failure is not a painful experience, how wonderful life would be. All men would have manifested fully, the god nature they carry in them. Failing means nothing if there is no attended pain to the experience. What is not painful is not scary. Many of us shy away from great dreams and laudable ambitions not because were incapable or lack the knowhow, we simply don't take it on because we're afraid of the consequence of failing. The consequence of failing is pain. Failing is fine if there are no painful repercussions. Truth is we're not afraid of failing, we're afraid of the painful repercussions it brings. The shame, embarrassment, disgrace, futility of effort and even a depressed life quality or loss. These negative feelings bring the fear of failing. Dear friend, you can't go very far in life, and you will at most remain a mediocre if you don't master that emotion called pain. Yes that is what it is, an emotion. It is just a feeling. Emotional and psychological pain is produced based on the interpretation you give to a situation. As real and as powerful as this kind of pain is, it is but merely an outcome of your thinking. Many of us today are very reluctant trying new and exciting things because were afraid of going through the pain of a repeat failure. You started a business, it suddenly all came crumbling down; you naturally wouldn't want to try again because you're afraid of going through that painful experience of failing again. The Unfortunate thing is, you will never get to own a successful business not because you can't, but because you're afraid of another painful experience should you fail again. You write an exam, you didn't pass, though you really worked hard and studied so hard yet you failed, now you've given up not because you are dull and can't pass but because you're afraid of the pain of failing again. Unfortunately, you will never obtain that certificate and qualification, not because you lack what it takes, but simply |
