If the story is anywhere near truth, tenant definitely has a case. @spongebob0006, had nailed it, the tenant does not only have a case going by Lagos tenancy law but in all jurisdiction of the federation. As earlier posited, if the story is anywhere in reality, the tenant should get a lawyer, i can assure him of judgement thus damages.

Lets hope he has money for lawyer and also enough money to move out.

If he did not rent out the house then yes. If there was an emergency like fire outbreak, drainage leakage etc then yes.... But breaking and entry for flimsy excuse? NO

Omo, to be honest, trust is a very expensive game. Live your life as best you can, take one step at a time with anyone. Trust? It is earned not just given. That is my moto. I can't just trust, I would not go all out to be an arse but I will not just become tied down. I make my plans open, no hiding no games, but then, I do not expect others to trust me as soon as we meet too.
