This clearly depicts the incompetency of our leaders and various agencies especially the FRSC and town planning authorities. Why wasn't the governor informed (if he doesn't know) that it is hazardous for pedestrians to walk across roundabouts as they may not be able to see oncoming vehicles due to the curves? And also siting a mosque in the roundabout will cause unnecessary obstruction to vehicles especially during prayer times in addition to putting the lives of the pedestrians in danger. We really have a long way to go. And it seems we will never get there. |
Many Airlines take their Nigerian passengers for granted. This issue would rarely occur if the plane was flying another route. |
Police and other law enforcement agent's checkpoints constitute a serious hazard on Nigerian roads. They are very unprofessionally mounted. And most times these agents leave the materials they used in obstructing traffic on the road after they have finished their duty/extortion. |
What then is the job of the Consultants in the project? They should be responsible for supervising the contractors and ensuring the job is carried out according to the contract specifications. The government really needs to review the way contracts are awarded. And why is Yahaya Bello holding a mic and making drama out of this? Such meetings and discussions ought to be carried out in a meeting room with competent professionals. This our country sef... |
Incompetence, Ignorance and Negligence. How can a mining site not be protected from the public? There should have been barriers and warning signs to help protect and warn others. And how come they had to wait until the governor came with a crane before proper rescue was conducted? Is the governor also a crane operator or a rigger? And why did the "rope" snap during the lifting operation? A proper lifting accessory(webbing or chain sling) should have been chosen with the capacity to lift the car. We really need to improve on the way we do things |
See children standing so close and viewing a decapitated body. There are so many reasons why we aren't normal in this country. |

By global standards, that road is not yet completed. There are no road markings, no signage and the kerb stones are not painted. The median also looks untidy Check out the cover image of the video posted and compare it with the content of the video. And how can we call that a 10 lane highway when we can't differentiate the lanes? That looks more like a 4 lane road to me. Obigbo to Port-harcourt is also a very short distance. Praise Buhari when the Enugu/Port-harcourt highway has been made to look like this. |
ISPON is not just a recognized institute but a government-approved regulatory agency for Occupational Health & Safety in Nigeria. However I'm having doubts that the email you received is from ISPON. Would you mind sharing the email address and message you received? |
Nice one. I love how everyone in the photo looks professional in their PPE. Just the way it should be. |
Calitoscassius:Speed limits depend on the condition of the road and traffic If a road has at least 4 lanes with each lane having a width of about 3 meters, properly marked and other road furniture present, driving at 100km/h won't be considered as over speeding. Are you aware there are roads that have "minimum speed limits"? Which means you can't drive below a certain speed which is usually 60km/h. A regulatory agency such as the FRSC or Ministry of Roads should be responsible to determine the speed limit of each road and communicate same to road users by using signboards or other means. There are different speed limits for residential areas, school areas, highways, main streets, etc. |
Calitoscassius:I blame the incompetence of the government and its agencies. An agency is responsible for issuing a driving license and they should ensure anyone who intends to gets the license passes a theory and road test under supervision to confirm he is eligible to get one. Secondly our roads are hazardous and substandard. A road without a median (an accessory to separate opposing lanes) should not have a speed limit of more than 40km/h. To ensure this speed, road radars and speed humps should be installed at regular intervals. When traffic moves in opposite directions without barriers to separate the lanes, head-on collisions are likely to happen. If the speed is not controlled, then the collisions could be major and even fatal due to high speeds. This is simple logic and something can be done to prevent such incidents from occurring but none of those responsible actually care. |
I'm not surprised. |
The high petrol consumption also indicates high carbon emissions. We are killing our environment. |
Condemner in Chief. Condemner General. |
CryptoRepublic1:As a crypto trader, what kind of services do you plan to render with the company? Do you want to trade for people and give them returns on investments? Do you want to exchange crypto for local cash? It will help to know your intention with the company |
The comments in Nairaland are too toxic. You come into the forum with a peaceful state of mind. But after opening a topic and reading through few comments, anger and hate begins to creep in because of the tribalistic BS the mods are allowing here. |
The road is quite impressive. However I watched the video for about 2 minutes and I didn't see a single traffic sign post. No speed limit signs, no curve ahead signs, no signs to notify the motorist that they are approaching a U-turn, etc. FRSC where art thou? |
Which private university is coming to the area and what is the proof that it will? What is the distance in meters from the estate to the Cargo Airport? Post a layout of the estate showing the road network, perimeter fence, proposed infrastructure and land allocations? What is the name of your supposed real estate company and proof of authenticity? You should provide more information to get people's attention. |
It's very pathetic to see so much excitement and fanatical ramblings over a 1.6km bridge that has taken over 6 years to build. We have a very long way to go. |
This people are just making drama. They are all the same. |
In other words, FG To Pay 24 Million Poor Nigerians $10 Each. |
omokab:Don't you guys ever get tired of this 16 years BS? What's the difference between both parties? No be the same people jump go APC? You guys keep lying to yourselves and it's seriously not good for the sanity of others. In the other hand, let's not forget that these projects (even though good) were executed with borrowed funds so the government had better make sure that all revenue from these trains go into servicing the debt. It will be better to be transparent with this so we know what's actually going on because right now, I think they are chopping the money as usual. |
Meanwhile the police is waiting to be briefed on the incident. |
This is actually infuriating. |
Front0lane:Even if it is true, this makes it acceptable? |
No doubt Nigeria has one of the lowest costs of mobile data. But what we need is broadband with unlimited data. People shouldn't be using mobile data in their homes and offices. I don't understand why Broadband isn't very common yet in Nigeria. |
Just like most things

Been using Alat for a while. I initially had problems during the verification stage but that was resolved within a few weeks. I haven't had any complaints since then. |
This shows the incompetence and failure of their training officers. |
EbenLekki:So what? We should just let it slide? |
"When contacted by Igbere TV, Spokesman for the Edo State Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the force is yet to be briefed." So there is a security situation ongoing and the police are waiting to be briefed? |
