you just don't have the experience. Leave it. There are different grades of auction cars. I bought an accidented 2013 camry XLE from copart in 2018 at $6k excluding fees. Mileage was 53k. Car was impeccably clean. No deployed airbag. The amount you buy a car is determined by the state of that car. Yes you can get for 3.8m, an XLE that is terribly damaged.
You see Toyota products, Nigerians have bastardised it at auctions. Even the most useless corolla, Camry and highlander go for exorbitant prices. Our G boys have also not helped. They use these purchases to launder money

With all due respect, you can't be talking 2018 purchase in 2020. Yes, the amount you buy a car is determined by its state for sure, reason we use words like 'good', 'average'. Have you joined auction lately, $6k can even get a good 2017/2018 as things are right now. I won't want to bombard here with auction receipts.

Purchase price of a 5-6years old vehicle won't be the same for a 8-9years old vehicle (depreciation ). I was even judging by your own estimation since you were sure 3.6M-3.9M is the range of price of other variants of Camry '13.
I am sure of the price of XLE, a good one isn't less than 4.5M unless you are buying from those dealers who do nothing but sell lemons.
If you were sure of the prices of L,LE and SE and I am frigging sure of the price of my XLE. What is the price difference again? Unless you will admit your estimated 3.6-3.9M isn't realistic.
4.5M price is my personal done deal not hearsay. Besides my argument is that 'a bit more' like the difference isn't obvious.

XLE is mostly 3.5L V6 anyways, even some SE.

All I stated are reality and I also included (estimated) figures/calculation to back it up. 'Like #1m' (#360 or even say #420 FX rate - $2500 average) is too steep a difference between such year model vehicles be it popular brands like Toyota and Honda either from dealership or auction.

Dealership insist you come inspect vehicle and auction you rely on information put out by the auction site. Do you know how many people has bought vehicles from auction and vehicle ended up with more issues than reported, including bad engine and transmission, etc

2010 Lexus is rx350 not 330.
Both vehicles are not close price-wise: a 'good' rx350 2010 is more than #4m, while a 'good' 2013 Camry should be around #3.6-3.8m (XLE Abit more though).

Camry easier to maintain. Camry more fuel economical (esp as it is available in 2.5L 4plugs) while all Lexus are 3.5L v6 (2010 rx350 precisely), Toyota parts generally cheaper to purchase than Lexus which is the luxurious version.

Hello house, in the light of the recent increase of custom duty charges, what is your opinion on surface duty for a 2013 lexus rx 350. Would you say surface duty below 1m is advisable? Also seeing that all duties are compromised duty wouldn't some paying 800k and above 1m the same. Aren't you just dashing the crooks money if you pay an excessively high surface duty because customs on the road will still say it is underpayment?

Basically, there are 2 scenarios here:
a) IF an underpayment is detected before the vehicle leaves the Port - called Alert - owner ends up paying more, say around 50% i.e a 2013 RX 350 should pay about #1.2m to govt coffers and lesser is paid, another DN debit note will be issued by NCS with penalty (fine) which might end up to be #1.5m instead of initial #1.2m.

b) Pay the #1.2m to govt and vehicle leaves Port without qualms (usual customs officer will/might disturb depending on driver's countenance and condor on the road).

Let me add the final: pay appropriate duty of around #4m. Notice I didn't add it as an option because it is rarely done and not encouraged by anyone including Customs personnels.

That vehicle will definitely be seize if you encounter any custom check. My 2010 was cleared for total sum of N1.2m (surface duty was over 850k) in December 2018, and custom in Benin once held me for underpayment.

I think those ones were just overzealous. The duty paid for your vehicle is even more than okay.

Yes it is possible (but I think you will need a NCS Licensed Agent letter) .Also, the process fraught with bottleneck and difficulties, except you are very very patient (luckily, traffic is out of the problem right now).

I would advise you erase from your mind paying #950k to any agent to clear the vehicle or you will end up paying double.

Importantly also, quickly get an agent so the vehicle can be secured from wharf-rats (I don't wish for my enemy to have rx350 vandalised , which is more rampant with Sallaum line)

Please don't victimize health practitioners and make them to start asking for Coronavirus test results from all patients before admission and treatment of other ailments.

What does it profit a hospital to admit a Coronavirus patient (that will end up to be transferred to Govt Isolation Centre) and then lock up the hospitals to other patients that will pay them. No commonsense in that!
